    Eddie had no worries....He KNEW without a doubt...that no way in HELL would his fans let him down.....there is no issue ....his fans were DEFINITELY going to catch him...That was an honor to catch him....he showed his love and trust of his fans by believing in them and they in turn Love and honor him ....majority of Rock and Metal fans are LOYAL....this is just one way it shows

      Eddie Vedder always carries Cash one time when he stage dived and a couple of fans dropped their beers just to catch Eddie Vedder in return he gave them 20 bucks each and said "Thank you heres 💵💵 for ur beers" and he went back on stage

    Eddie showing some amazing breath control here... flailing around like a man on fire, but then sounding almost exactly like the album vocals. Pretty impressive.

    That jump/fall Eddie did, into the crowd, was TAME compared to what he had done at many other concerts! You should watch “Porch” live, at PinkPop, ‘92! There’s also a compilation video of a lot of the crazy, death-defying things Eddie did on their first couple tours. At some point, the band asked Eddie to chill the acrobatics out because they didn’t want him to get hurt!!

      Yeah, Porch was crazy. And the compilation video of Eddie's climbing was even crazier.

      You known Eddie didn’t listen to his band mates. A couple close calls chilled himself down.

    Hey Asia, Eddie is alive and well and still performing. He is the only lead vocalist in the grunge gang to not fall to a certain fate the others had.
    This song is about a homeless man from what I read and saw in interviews, a particular homeless man also named Eddie who would live outside their rehearsal studio in Seattle. When they came back from a short club tour early in their career they noticed their friend wasn't there and later found out he had passed. So basically this song is his tribute as well as a notice of what homeless people are perceived as in the public's eye.

      Well there's still mark lanagen of screaming trees and mudhoney all though they never made it as big as the others definitely a huge part of the grunge scene. I sure miss those days. The 90s had so much going on. 🤙

      @@buzzaldrin6985 Maybe I should have said "of the big five grunge bands"... but if we want to how way Wayyyy back, another who is still going and is considered the original grand-dad of grunge, Neil Young.

      @@artsilva Yeah for sure. Didn't pearl jam and niel do keep on rocking in the free world at one point. I'm gonna try to look that up. Yeah niel was grunge before grunge huh.

      I mean I still count foo fighters in that category too even if they were established a bit later.

    • @artsilva
      @artsilva Рік тому +1

      @@itztokeyo Grunge was not only a "sound" but also a time period and esthetic of the time. Foo Fighters are not necessarily considered grunge even though Dave Groll was the drummer of Nirvana, they are more rock, alternative rock with a grunge influence. I don't think I ever heard of the FF being litterally labeled Grunge come to think of it considering their roots. You could say they were on the other side or born from the end of that era.

    Pearl Jam had always been considered one of those rare bands that is better live then the studio albums. The energy like from day one is still next level. Vedder has that gift of being able to reach every person in the crowd in one way or another. I've seen them 7 times over the years and every concert is burned in my memory. Go see then next tour no matter what. You'll thank me.

    Eddie always was jumping into the crowd, climbing on stuff, etc. When they finally got into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame he actually apologized to all his band members for all the years of doing that. He was basically saying he know if he got hurt it would affect them too, so he was sory. But , that was how it was back in the day, so cool, so fun!!! I miss this era!!!

    Eddie had a reputation back in the '90s for climbing up the rigging and swinging from mic cables over the audience. People still have a weird nostalgia about it when at the time a hell of a lot of people really honestly believed that he'd end up falling to his death in front of thousands of fans. He has one particularly terrifying story of climbing up a steel beam and getting to the top only to realize that he could only hang on by his fingertips. I guess it's part of what made them legendary, but I think they would have been that without him risking his life so many times.

    God, I remember these pre-Covid shitshows (not THIS particular show at The Moore Theatre, sadly) but just being 20 years old living in Seattle in the 1990's and going to grunge concerts and everybody sweating with each other and breathing on each other and kinda/sorta beating on each other but loving the vibe and enjoying the pot and the beer and the batshit manufactured angst... I guess everyone is nostalgic for whatever era/location they came of age in, but... I feel pretty lucky to have experienced Seattle in the early Nineties.
