^ this x1000. My wife introduced me to Halestorm, and I was like "meh ... they're ok". Then we went to see them live a few weeks ago, and I gotta say that was a damn good show. I think they actually sound better live.
I feel like this song talks about the release of emotion that is sometimes present in toxic relationships. She doesn't miss the person, but the emotions that she able to get out by being with that person.
I'm healing from an emotionally, mentally, and financially abusive relationship. This song makes more sense to me now than it used to.

Understanding from the point of someone that's been in a DV marriage this song is healing for me because it's a sarcastic view of what that does to a person. It's an angry way of saying FU to our abuser.

I seen Hailstorm free in Buffalo, NY; it was awesome! Her (Lizzy's) drummer brother is badass on the kit... He jumps around on the drum set while playing and NEVER misses a beat.
Think the best line is "I dont miss you..I miss the misery" that sums it up as you are correct about being kind of an addiction especially if you have been a person conditioned to it. That person has a hard time letting that go even though they know its a toxic relationship, ive had friends who got caught up in similar situations and it sucks to see it from the outside.
If you want to hear Lizzie Hale's range then you have to listen to break in with Amy Lee
You should check out her live with Eric Church singing, "That's Damn Rock And Roll" from the CMA Festival 2014. Her vocals are incredible and she blows away the audience and Eric Church. Powerful moment. It's on YT.

I highly recommend "a familar taste of poison" by them (halestorm) its a slower song but really shows off her vocals. Also "break in" the version with Amy Lee from Evanescence is great

Great choice by one of the premier Rock Bands of the 21st century! Lzzy Ha!e is the Goddess of current rock and leads a bunch of female fronted bands that are making sure rock continues in the future. Try Freak Like Me, Rock Show and Mz Hyde, they are killer songs and well worth checking out. Enjoy! 🎵🎸

This song is about a toxic relationship. Kind of like Garbage's Only Happy When It Rains. Great song to check out if you haven't heard it. Shirley Manson, another awesome female rocker. Another great Halestorm song is Break In featuring Amy Lee. The Steeple is really good as well. If you want another great female lead rock band, look into the Pretty Reckless. 25, Mix My Medicine, and Make Me Want to Die are all excellent songs. Absolutely love Taylor Momsen's voice. If you like husker voices, look into Violet Orlandi and Sershen and Zaritskaya. Daria Zaritskaya and Violet Orlandi have excellent husky voices. They do collabs with Halocene, First to Eleven, and Lauren Babic. All excellent singers.

Funny shit, I "discovered" this band during an episode of Bar Rescue. After Jon made the bar over, Halestorm performed this song and "Love Bites".

This chick is amazing! Takes me back to the raw feeling of rock I had back in the 80s. My son took me to see her live and she was great. Check out more of her songs! Also the puzzled look on Asia's face is priceless. Exactly. People become dependent on toxic relationships if that's all they know, or feel they deserve.

First started listening to 'Halestorm' in 09' and seen live in 10'👍as always? When bands I want to see make it big, and they do, I'll move on too something else and repeat it over and over! This is the last band I did that with, and that was 10 years ago ✌❤🤘
One of my favorite bands a good fact to know about them is that lizzy and this band was signed when she was only 15 yrs ikd her brother is the drummer and she also had a sister that was in the band for a while then left to start her own band

You know what to expect and with the unknown you don’t. You miss the certainty. It’s like most people would probably pick the devil they know over the devil they don’t know.

"I'd rather fight all night than watch the TV" is the line in there that for whatever reason sort of encapsulates this song and the toxic relationship that I was in when I first heard it. We loved each other but hated both being in active drug addiction at the time and we took it out on each other. It was a horrific time. I have several years clean now and she isn't using anymore currently either from what I have heard. You get to where you just thrive on the chaos and you just need more of everything in a situation like that.
"I've been a mess since you stayed" the exact opposite of all the lovey love songs.

Sometimes you don't miss the person, but you miss the relationship. The "misery" you two gave each other. You still love the person enough that you are still willing to go through that hell that you gave each other all those years to still be with that person. You don't miss the person as much as you miss the convivence of that person. The comfortableness of that person. The normalcy that you're use to with that person. To the point of bringing back even the misery you two gave each other. It's the love/hate line that gets crossed. Me and my ex had a lot of fights. A lot of misery that we caused each other every single day, but at the end of the day, we knew we weren't meant to be with anyone else but each other. He broke up a 15 yr marriage for a old high school sweetheart, who dumped him for the 3rd time. And we have a child together, and came back to me saying he knows we are what is suppose to be in this life. Still to this day give each other "misery", hell, but living together, and happy, content with each other. Knowing this is where we both belong.

Sometimes we hold on to things that are bad for us because we don't know who we are without it. That can be scarier than the familiarity of the toxicity.
Asia, that is so true about your comment about only knowing your loved by the abuse you get. That is so true. My example exactly. I have no way of knowing that I am loved unless I am some sort of narcissistic relationship. Unfortunately, that's the only thing I've ever known due to my father. And when someone tries to love me outside of that, I don't know what to do. I don't know how to take it. When my pastor's wife tries to convince me of God's love for me all the time, I just look at her like a deer in headlights look, cause, well it's not a narcissistic kind of love and I'm not use to that. I don't know what to do there.

I just got to see Halestorm for the first time a few days ago and they rocked. As much as I enjoyed their show, I am bigger fan of The Warning who was one of the bands opening for Halestorm. The 3 sisters from Mexico have around 40 original songs while only 22, 20 and 17 years old.
