I just bought new boots and they're bigger than my previous boots. I waited for months to get these and I was heartbroken thinking I had to return them. I will take some time tomorrow to adjust the shift lever height. Thank you for this video!
You are welcome
Precise, objective, perfect angle, awesome image quality, and easy to understand. I appreciate your excellent tutoring video. Exactly what I needed to know.
Glad it was helpful!
as a noob rider of 2 months this will help me to get the curage to do something myself and not just go down the shop everytime i want to get something done :D thank you for making this awsome and easy guide.
If this helps you I’ve been rebuilding a wrecked bike as my first bike. It’s really not as hard as you think just go for it
Just got my bike and my foot was constantly rubbing against the bottom of the shifter when I was trying to just rest it underneath ready for the next upshift! It messed up some of my shifts. This has given me the confidence to play with this and see if I can get a good fit. Thank you! Excellent quality video in every regard.
Glad I could help.
Long time dirt bike rider here, was perplexed by the mechanism for adjusting my road bike gear lever so I can get my Gaerne SG12 moto boots under it easily. This made it real easy and fast - thank you!
I think I may make a bunch of these short videos. Maybe.......
This is amazing. I just completed my basic training and my hip was cramping trying to get my foot in the shifter. So thank you for this, saves me a lot of discomfort!
my new (and deeper) boots arrive later today, so wanted to get ahead of the game as i'm likely to have to adjust the lever, thanks
Well made. It's like having a friend come over and show you how to do this. Only thing I didn't like about my bike. Fixing it tomorrow. Thanks!
Thank you so much!! I just bough a pair of Milwaukee boots and went out to take a ride and they wouldn't fit under the shift lever! I've never had to make this adjustment in 48 years!! I was going to hit the service manual and decided to check in here first. Now I got it! Thanks again!!!
You are so welcome!. thanks for watching
Instead of buying new thinner boots I am just going to adjust the lever 😊 Thank you!
A few hours after the reaction above: I just made the change on my Indian Scout Sixty 2020. On this model there's only one nut on each side of the 'bar'. It makes it even easier to adjust 😊
Happy to help!
what I have been doing for the last 20 something years, is that I adjust the shifter peg down to the level of the footpeg, then I remove the shifter peg and I will place a 5" or 6" x 3/4 " wide SS muffler bracket that comes with a pre-drilled hole the diameter of the peg screw onto the shifter arm and I will screw the peg back in place with the SS plate straight up and then I will place my boot on the peg with my hand and then I will take a marker and mark about 1/2" to 3/4" above the toe of the boot on the bracket. then I remove the bracket and drill a hole as the diameter of the shifter screw and then I secure two shifter pegs in place using the bracket and now the front of my Boot is in between the two shifter pegs and I don't have to fiddle around so much to shift gears. now it's just a matter of the boot moving up or down without having to lift my foot off of the lower peg. I put some blue lock tight on the screws and nuts on the upper and lower peg screws to keep the proper angle for my comfortable shifting while on my rides. this has worked for me for many many years and NO your foot won't get stuck between the pegs because you will always leave enough room for removal and you just practice sliding your boot out laterally when you stop which is something you do normally. I have never gotten trapped between the pegs or fallen over with my boot in place. I call it my Semi-Automatic shifter! it's really simple to make and if anyone is interested! I will be willing to send a snapshot of my shifter pegs on my Bike. PS I did change the shifter rod for a custom one and it is shorter than the OEM rod making it perfect to adjust the lower peg really nice and equal to the footpeg. after all, is said and done! it almost works like paddle shifters on a car.
I am Latino and I speak more Spanish than English, but you explained it so well that it is easy to understand, thank you very much and I hope you continue with more videos like this.

I was about to buy a heel toe shifter until I saw this video. Thank you!
Glad I could help!
Extremely well explained - perfect camera angle - thank you for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
Perfect. I watched several videos on how to adjust the shifter. This one REALLY explained things. Thanks!!
Glad it helped!
Straight to the point video, i like it!
Thank you.
I am not mechanically inclined at all and after watching that video I believe I might have a chance at doing this myself so thank you
Go for it!
Great video! Mine was to high for me and caused sometimes weird shifting. Dropped it down a little bit and it feels really good now. Thanks 👍🏻😊
Same. Mines to high for me. This will help me a lot
Hey guy thanks for the close up step by step ,as i was able to bring up my shifter so as i can now use the foot boards i recently bought as with only a 15% rotation capability ,it just wasn't enough to put the board down enough to safely get my boot under the shifter.
Glad I could help
Awesome video, bought a new motorcycle an saw the shift lever was way to low an I was trying to figure out how to adjust it. This video saves life.
Glad it helped
Thanks, Marine. You helped out a dumb old sailor today.
Sailor minus the dumb. You are a sailor.
Man, i think you just saved me from breaking the top pivot on my Triumph Tiger! Reverse thread of course!! D'oh.
Thanks!
Thank you for saving me thought I had to return my boots because I couldn't get them underneath the shifter without moving my knee super far forward. I thought that can't be right how do people with large feet shift then? This made so much sense.
You are welcome.
Thanks for the video! Very straight forward and to the point, but I'm sure for a lot of riders this will make a world of difference in comfort.
You are welcome and thank you so much for watching the video and taking the time to post your comment.
I recently purchased a Ninja ZX14R, and being a touring bike rider (I also own a BMW K1600 Grand America), the Ninja is a totally different riding position. I had to purchase riding boots (not as thick as my current boots), and lower my footpegs, in order to be able to place my feet properly on them. The next step is to adjust the shift lever. This video was it!
Best video on shifter adjustments
That was funny when u held boot up, i took my icon moto x boots 2 my wood guy & put boots on belt sander, u want flat non lug sole when sport bike riding even made the boot stickier, still adjusted lever but thought id mention it ; )
Thank you so much for sharing this video this really helped me
You are so welcome!
Thank you very much for this helpful video. I'm a newbie and just installed floorboards. I was able to adjust this as needed very quickly. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Beautifully explained, I bought new shoes thinking I'd have to give them back, thank you so much!
Happy to help!
Awesome vid! I have some chunky work boots that I don't use too much for riding since I wasn't sure how to adjust the shifter. Thanks for the tutorial.
Not a problem at all. I enjoy doing this.
Great video. I knew how to adjust already , but was watching some of your other videos and decided just to watch it anyways.... very well explained!
Thank you. I was in the Marines with a Randy Forslund btw.
Thanks for the very useful instruction. I did the first ride with my new boots (Daytona max sport, with 6cm higher sole) and shifting gears was really difficult. Good that i found your video, so I'll keep the boots! 😉 Subscription & Greetings from Germany.
No problem!
Was about to return my brand new boots. Now I don’t think I have to! Thanks bro!
No problem. Enjoy.
Thanks, this video is exactly what I needed. I ride a 2021 cbr500r And my new corsa's were a little thicker and deeper than my Justin work boots. Now I know how to change shifter on the fly and only takes a second. My bike only has 1 nut, instead of the double nut. But one is reversed. Just break the two loose and spin rod. Thanks.
Thanks bro 👍. My bike has been in the shop for a chain/sprockets replacement and when I rode it home yesterday the shifter was totally out of place from what I’m used too. Gonna make this adjustment later today. ✌️
My pleasure.
i ride 3 years on my motorcycle and only today i gonna finnaly change the sfift my left leg is thanking to you
Glad it helped
Just got some new boots and need to lift my Guzzi lever. Thanks for the video. REALLY helped me a lot!
I had to do this. Thanks for posting this video!

You just made my day, I put new running boards and I'll be able to adjust. Thank you for the awesome video.❤
I am thrilled it helped. That's what this is all about.
Dude great, clear instructions thanks.
You are welcome.
You just saved me an embarrassing trip to the dealer
Excellent and thank you! I needed to lower my shifter and now I know how.
Glad it helped!
Wow.. Truly brilliant. The best instructional video on this topic. Helped me a lot. Thank you so much.
You are welcome. Thank you for the comment.
Perfect. Need to adjust for my boots as you said. ❤ Thanks
Happy to help!
thanks for the vid! I just bought a new riding boot that is a lot thicker than what I used to ride in, a Converse Chuck 70s haha, and I need to adjust the shifter to accommodate
Glad I could help!
Thank you for this. I'm hoping that it'll be this easy for my Suzuki Intruder VS1400. My riding boots are really thick in the toe and it's impossible to get my foot under the shift lever. Have to shift with the lip of my sole, and it slips off all the tip and I hate it. So again thank you for this.
Nice! As it sits right now, I can’t get my boot underneath the shift lever on my Triumph Bonneville. Now, I think I can fix it. Thanks!
You are welcome. Thanks for watching!
New boots on commute today was a mess... Could barely get my foot under the shifter with my collosal head stompers. Will do this asap. Ty for vid. More like if you can
It’s a simple fix as you see

That was very informative and on an idiot's level. Perfect manual, dude. Kudos.
I have a trail for city and lever was too high like a motorcycle style, when I change from 1 to 2 gear many times shifter stop in neutral. now I can see light to the end of tunnel 🙏
That's a kick-ass video...well done👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great video thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Very well explained. Thank you!
Thanks for the information was greatly appreciated
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you sir!!
Most welcome!
This is amazing, thank you. Will is stop at max hight or is there any danger of going to far the the rod?
There is no stop. It is possible that you will run out of thread and it will come apart.
Thanks for the video Semper fi brother
Semper Fi!

Good quality video guide (y)
Hi.....! Nice video! Well explained! Did you ever think about radiator mesh guard? I have my scout for one year now and i can see radiator getting damage fins on the bottom
I really should do that. It is a great idea.
Very helpful
Glad it was a help
Hi i got 2022 duke 200, im having issue while i lower the gear while riding. Its not engaging sometimes what could be the reason? Only when i lower the gear. Sometimes have to release clutch a little bit to engage the correct gear.
Hello, I really want to use the Tech7 enduro drystar boots with my Honda CB/GB350. But it doesn’t have an adjustable lever like the one you showed. What can be the work arounds? Thanks.
Thanks Bro!
my problem is the the actual shifter is just too short i think, cause as it sits from the dealer is to tall but if i lower it, my boot cannot get under
Keep playing with it
How do you like those MT60s?
doing this with my GSXR 750 idk why they put the shifter so god dam low !
I know, right? frustrating.
adjusted mine in my klx140, any clue why after Im not able to shift past second gear?
You must have adjusted it differently because that doesn’t make any sense unless you rotated the shifter on the spline
Nice
I’m doing this when I get home
Video starts at about 3:00
Thanks for the heads up. I will FFWD.
