Its so relieving to know that even a great player like John Browne gets a guitar in his hands and doesnt know what to play. Ive learned so many of my favorite songs over the years but the minute someone asks me to play, I draw a blank lol
I usually will listen to entire albums all the way through even if there are a few stinkers on it. It's more about the full experience then picking and choosing.

Normally speaking, I pick a few songs I like and throw it into a playlist. For monuments on the other hand, their last two albums have been complete bangers with ZERO bad songs. Every riff is catchy as shit.
Wow, this was a SUPER Coffee with. I honestly did not know much about John B. Ola you made me curious and that’s a super ability to have, the two of you had a great vibe and it was such a great interview... Very well done Ola 🤘🏼
John playing a TesseracT riff is now my new favorite thing, next to John playing his own Monuments riff, hahah. That was a great interview, Ola! Monuments has been definitely one of my favorite bands and it's usually the band that I go back to listening the most, John is such a beast and I never get tired of listening to him riffing really hard!
The Watch, last song of the album Phronesis, amazing song, one of my favorites. It's weird how Brown says "I don't know what to play" when he has an amazing discography of great songs and memorable riffs.
alryt am gonna buy Riffhard, heard so much reviews already!!! John Browne, You are One of best Guitar Player of all time, Hands Down.. THANKS A TONNE OLAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That ClipLock comment is so accurate, I put them on my PRS S2 satin and only found out after about 2 months that it'd been tearing my finish apart. I'm 3 years in with them now and my guitar looks like it's been chewed
I totally get what Mr. Browne is laying down about alternate picking. It always felt "thin" to me compared with straight downpicking. That's where the power is. Glad to have found this today as I was not familiar with Mr. Browne's playing. As a player for nearly 30 years I'm glad to be able to add him to the list of players that remind me how bad I suck! MK
I talked to Herman Li the other night on stream. They're looking for people to get on stage with them at their shows. I mentioned you and he was down for when they come to Stockholm. You should sooooo do it.
Thats the best part about meshuggah, they inspire you to be a better and newer you with deep insights Not just another band where you copy their style/sound and also that is why no band sounds like meshuggah
Thanks ola for this interview and John Browne for his website. I am now a RiffHard member. One major aspect i've been lacking, as I've focused my guitar playing on soloing so much that my metal rhythm blows.
It's almost like he does a wrist-twist for quick powerful down-strokes instead of a regular down-stroke, and also, pushing the pick with his thumb and not pulling it through with his fingers. Very circular. Impressed AF!
I like how you both acted like you don't know for sure if John Williams did the music for Home Alone. You both know you sit alone in your studios listening to "Somewhere in my memory" on $1000 headphones with a tear rolling down your cheeks.
Jesus, John is probably the only dude who has to change a low E-string regulary because he beat the sh** out of it. But really cool guy, awesome chat, nice exercise, awesome playing.
It is effing great to hear a guitar player give props to Hetfield's guitar playing because I feel Metallica don't get enough credit for what they have achieved and for the doors they have opened for other bands...today's bands owe a lot to Metallica for paving the way ahead for great metal music done with a great technical ability. Good to see. I could go on and on about this but anyway..Cool beans.Respect.
Sadly, its getting increasingly rare to hear positive things being said on the topic of Metallica, particularly on the internet. The ratio of hacky jokes to respect is tragically skewed.
Have a great friday everyone!
get some coffee! have a great day dude!\m/
Hope you feel better soon.
You too, Ola! Still requesting "Ola checks out Iced Earth" - Keep being awesome, Swedey McSwedeface.
Ola Englund thanks Ola Englund. I like Johns mewsic. And yours. Bye. 🤪
How about some hot chicks for C.W.Ola?
John Browne has quickly become my favorite rhythm player in the metal scene. and he doesnt even cheat on his wife.
Write that down mark holcomb
Though people who cheat on their wives still make some pretty sick riffs
@@nukichu_u what?
😅
shots fired XD
Plot twist: John Browne is Post Malone.
Stephen Cox he is our djenty john malone
He is Pre Malone.
@@jamesbradford1153 Prog Malone
Tone Malone.
Hes close. But the closest I've ever seen to post malone is actually a black dude. Look up Brandon Ingram
John's a monster riffer, songwriter, and love his UA-cam content. You can tell he doesn't bullshit. Dug this one a lot.

HOLD UP! No handshake? Did Ola know about corona before everyone else? OLAMINATI CONFIRMED
Beside it being common sense to not shake hands when you're ill? Idk... 🙃
Coronas been around a while bud
The most interesting guitarist I have met in the past 10 years
Guthrie Govan!

John: "Famous boy band... Ah what where they called... Help me out here?
Ola: ehh.. ƪ(•̃͡ε•̃͡)∫
Well played Ola, trick question.
John and Misha have influenced my guitar playing and music taste so much. Amazing player.
John Browne is such a sick guitarist, thanks for this one!
This guy play style is amazing!
I think I'm gonna take it's courses.
David Castonguay it’s worth the $30 for sure
John Browne ... wicked \m/ he's an excellent guitarist. That's cool AF you got him on here.

The more intense his guitar playing the less neck he has, it's quite impressive.
? He obviously has a condition?

I have become a huge fan of John recently and this has only made me respect him even more. You guys rock \m/
You two have such a special dynamic a PODCAST of some sort would TAKE OFF boys. Very natural episode i must say.
Watching this with a smile! Thanks John and Ola!
The closed caption on their accents is hilarious 🤣
Got into John Browne so much after this video though
The thing about Enter Shikari, is that their music is good and their performance is so fun to watch regardless what kind of music you listen to
Damn he plays and sounds soooo gooood
Greaaaat channel, You are doing a great job Ola Englund... by the way, nice pick you did, I love this guitarrist...
Literally the other day, I was thinking "I wish I could learn from John Browne, I love his technique" and now I find out that I can.
My two favourite people in one room, spot on ola!
John is so awesome. Great to see both of you in one video! you are very inspiring
Damn man both of these dudes are the shit. They make me want to play everyone I hear them both.
20:57 riff is literally insane

Coffee with John Petrucci!
He reached out to him....
John Petrucci doesn't actually eat or drink. He's not like us.
ady their new vocalist is fucking amazing live, heard him in copenhagen and i was blown away
John's playing is so unique. Seems like such a great dude too. Excellent video Ola.

Looks like post Malone's older brother who taught him how to play. Ha ha ha!
😂😂😂 he must be.. \m/
Hahahaha dude totally fuck yeah bro lol
Theory, Posty is actually a clone that managed to scape from the lab xd
That rhythm exercise towards the end was probably my fav exercise I've done in a long time. So cool and fun.
That's one of the most beautiful guitars I've seen and with a Nailbomb and a Cold Sweat in it, I can only imagine that it's a complete fucking monster
Just checked out John after seeing him on will it chug and he is already a new favorite. Thanks Ola!

Yeah I'm in awe of his rhythm playing. I might try to use your breakdown of his technique to apply to my own playing.
Such an amazing guest, and his playing!
My mind is tweaking out because the third leg of that table is sitting on the baseboard. I hope the coffee doesn't slide off!😱
It's an illusion. There is no baseboard... the rug is not touching wall, which makes it look like a baseboard.
@@MetalJase Thank you. It's obvious now that I've looked past the corners of the rug. *facepalm*

You only want to get so wired while on camera with red eyes. People might think he's into Dragon chasing or something. :p
Personally, i hope EPs are the future Albums. Always loved that format.
8:50 . A 40min album i think is suitable for the modern attention span, half of it realesed as singles.

Drinkin coffee alone with Ola:))))
John Williams is a legend.
Hi Ola! WOMAN FAN HERE!! Love your videos and music. Visit Washington Dc!
So... take your shoes off, if you go into Ola's new office😉

You can't shake hands but John surely touched your door handles. BEWAAAAARE !!!

We need Peter Tägtgren on Coffee with Ola
I very much agree.
Great interview! He’s hysterical in the Mayones factory tour video!
I'll have to check it out John seems like a funny guy.
For the first time I noticed how accurate Ola's pronunciation is compared to that British English speaking John. Anyway, good video as always!
Most Swedish people seem to have excellent English.
YESS!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome vi Ola, i love John's picking technique! Also just caught that Synergy Uberschall video John put out, man that sounds insane!
I need to check that out, the uberschall is a beast.
John is one of the best players from now!
Awesome conversation...it got me really inspired to play the guitarra :-D
John is too happy... maybe?
Great interview!
That crunch tho!!
this is my favorite
hey ola, thanks for the videos man! cheers!
Sir Keith 🙏🙏
Both of them being unable to remember one direction was priceless.
Самый мой любимый гитарист, обожаю Monuments
That was an awesome random fact. A singer from a metal band wrote one of Zayn mallack’s biggest hits.
So awesome
The boy band he meant to say was "One Direction". But everyone here is 90% interested in metal so you won't cate. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
