I use iPhone because of its ease of use but sometimes it just seems boring. Almost every one is exactly the same. Same look same set up. I’m trapped in the ecosystem and I don’t hate it but it’s a shame there is no individuality in iPhone.

I think another important point is how Apple doesn't make budget phones. Sure there's the SE, but no one thinks of the SE when they think of apple. Expensive phones make Apple seem like higher quality, while just by making budget phones, Samsung is seen as lower quality. Apple's ridiculous prices also double as a status symbol similar to designer clothes. Expense=status.

If you don't think Apple is an evil company, then you have no idea of the law suits and such that goes on in the background, not to say that any other company is free of dirt intentions, just that Apple is in no way playing a fair and just game for their sales.

Why people says... “Apple is soo locked in?” I have been using Apple devices, and I never feel locked in.... when using Apple device. But when it comes about App.... that what I am using 3rd Party App. Look... they are 3rd party app that will make your solve problem, mean you are not locked in anymore... if you use 3rd party apps... like Google and other app that can use on Windows devices or Android devices. Also I became an Apple fan from Android because of iOS... I love iOS and it is great UI, I did use Android and I didn’t love the UI design. Nowdays Some Android copied iOS IU... like EMUI, MIUI, One UI 3.... or Origin OS or other OS that looks similar to iOS UI, that is why I no longer to love Android OS UI. Shameless Google have no choice.... they have to copy iOS UI or people will not buy Google devices.... because of bad UI OS I ever seen, same as Windows 10.... Apple unveiled MacOS Big Sur.... and I love the design UI.... now I don’t love Windows 10 UI...... I hate it soooo much and I now mock them. Guys stop arguing and being idiots Apple may slow down ur phone after 2-3 years but did u literally forget about the fact that androids only get like 1-3 years of os updates. They are the same thing. For cameras maybe android has better specs but Apple has better software. Unless u using a phone for a specific purpose they the same. Some people just find the Apple iOS cleaner simpler easier. While others may want the customization of android it’s the same. Both have pros and cons. There’s no point to argue especially being really stupidly rude
You're right with pretty much everything. One thing I want to say is that sometimes specs do matter and there is no software that can change that. Like a high refresh rate screen. I personally use a 90hz one and would never go back, but I can see why apple doesn't use them yet. It's probably like other things like 5G: they take a long time but when they finally do it, they come up with something genius and do it better then everyone else. Putting high refresh rate panels in phones and accepting downsides like huge power drain is very not apple-like imo.
But with stuff like usb-c I just don't understand why apple doesn't use it. it's fast, it's stable, it looks nice. The iPad has it, the macbook has it. Why not the iPhone?

I find iphones harder to use. The keyboard doesn't even have a numeric row. Steve Jobs even claimed that the purpose of a touch keyboard was customizability for various purposes, but iphones are not customizable.
Great video Jack!!! I was thinking about moving to android but because I have invested into things like adapters, ipads, and phone. I don’t think it would be easy go to a new type of device/operating system rn. When final cut comes to the iPad, I’ll let that be the deciding factor. Thanks for the video.
I have used both Android and ios. On my old Huawei P30 Pro, the software feels super laggy because Huawei cant release optimisation fixes anymore meanwhile my old iPhone 8 still ran as well as it did those years ago. But I avoid buying Apple products, I just used my sony xm4s and a Huawei smartwatch so I don't get too deep into the Apple ecosystem.

The points you bring up about optimization remind me of the fact that apps like Instagram only have to optimize one Instagram app a year, while they can only really make one Android app because there are so many Android companies that it's a fool's errand to even try making it perfect on every device. This is folding phones at first were so hard to use, no app was going to fix its UI for that one phone.
Apple's biggest mistake right now is not going fully usb c with iphones. If apple adopted usb c on iphones i would switch over from android. A lot of their other products like the ipad pro, apple watch, and airpod pros are very appealing but owning them without an iphone is somewhat pointless sadly.
It doesn't make sense right? Europe gave them the order, but... I think they are gonna remove ports completely... This is going to suck. Even in the year 2077 we still need! Raw connection

Good video but I really have to disagree with the point you made about "If you need a laptop, you get a MacBook". I have an iPhone and I don't think MacBooks are all that bad, but if I had to choose between a MacBook and a Windows laptop at the same price range, I'd go with the Windows machine any day. Its mainly how overpriced MacBooks are at their price-range. How are you going to sell a laptop at 1000+ USD and only have 8gbs of RAM and a GPU that *barely* outclasses a 1050ti and rx650. I think apple makes decent phones, I have an XR and I think the screen looks beautiful but their laptop and desktop game is awful.

If you hate Apple, stop using Chrome, or any Chromium based browser and instead use Firefox because Blink, Chrome's browser engine, is based on Apple Webkit. Firefox on the other hand doesn't use anything related to Apple.

I also don't like their "Environmental" Plans. Every year a new phone but mostly just a different design(I know the LOVE LOOKS BETTER IN COLOR ad Wich basically says hey we just painted our PC purple), the charging brick needs to be bought separately(other companies do this too) and They limit the Hardware by the software.

I think apple can be overpriced, however I love their products and find them super reliable. I do actually like the apple ecosystem too, lol I may be sucked in, but they are my favourite. However for gaming on the other hand, I like using other proper gaming computers, and not apple computers

If I can be perfectly honest I don't think it is a one size fits thing. I have a couple of beliefs about this topic. As far as purchasing choices I think many people generally lean towards what they "grew up with". By that I mean if your earliest smartphone experience was more Apple, you have become extremely accustomed to that and the Android interface feels a bit unnatural (and vice versa). This may be small because obviously there are a few people that jump across from time to time. Now the biggest reason I think people hate Apple has a lot less to do with Apple's products and more to do with their customers. There is a weird snobbish nature to SOME Apple users. I have known quite a few people in my years and honestly I don't know of many times where an Android (or any other operating system) user has gone out of their way to look down their nose at an Apple user. I have seen it frequently from iPhone users. I've seen female friends in conversations mention if the bubble is the wrong color they would not consider dating a guy. Just recently a friend unprovoked created a post proclaiming how great iPhone is and that Android sucks. Generally these things will be off-putting to people who might be open minded enough to one day try Apple products. Personally, I believe people should buy what suits their needs and not chase being part of the in crowd. I have generally been Samsung and have had LG and at one point had Windows phone (really liked it but it lacked the app support of iOS and Android). I went these routes because they offered things I prioritized when Apple did not. The first phablets were not available on Apple...ir blasters were not there...I am a fairly regular S pen user. Those aren't there for me, so I am likely not going to be on iPhone because they aren't selling to me...and a percentage of their fans are off-putting.

@godofdeath8785 examples please. I'm sure there are snobbish Android users. I just bought 3 new iPhones in my house in the last 6 months. All of my in-laws have them so I frequently see how good the product is when it fits what you want to do. Socially I have friends with both. But again, I have never seen my Android friends or family attack anyone's preferences for iPhones. I have however seen IPhone friends and family bashing Android users without provocation. I don't know your observations and experiences but this is what I've observed since the rise of the iPhone and even the iPod.

If you keep improving your videos at the rate you currently are, within the next 5-10 years I see you becoming the biggest Tech UA-camr on the platform. @@donjames5761 I think Steve Jobs was better for tech as a whole. His focus was consumer satisfaction first and then money. Tim Cook is more about making money and controlling consumers. Anything that helps Apple's bottom line Tim would not hesitate to implement even if its not good for consumers. But the consumers are trapped in that Apple prison ecosystem and so most have no choice but to accept these terrible ideas. For me I think competition is always a great thing for consumers compared to monopolies. I say so because currently in the smartphone world there are two really: Apple and Samsung and that's bad.

Gen X guy checking in. Before all the fanboy wars I recall a time when all the people I knew were on Windows 98, 2000. I didnt see MACs anywhere, I heard of Apple computers but never saw one in person. When the iPods/iTunes got popular is when they blew up. I think the beef started with the iPhone & the lines. People were lining up for those phones like a new PlayStation or some Jordans.Thats when people started to dislike Apple.
i switched to apple from samsung, and I find it alot better. There's just something about the software that makes it awesome, and that comes from someone who is a total computer nerd.

Your video just came up as a suggestion to me. As other commenters have said, this was really well put together and well presented. I moved from being a long term Android user to my first iPhone (iPhone 11) 4 months ago. At first I hated it. Now that I’ve got the hang of the phone and got it (sort of) set up the way I want it, I still hate it lol. The camera and battery life are excellent, but that’s about my only positive comments and I will be going back to Android next time round. Even if I did like it though, Tim Cook’s attitude to deliberately designing Apple devices to be more and more difficult to repair, and his constant dissing of the “Right to Repair” movement is enough to put me off any future purchases anyway. As for the “Apple Ecosystem”, I’ve just made sure I don’t use any of Apple’s apps: Microsoft deal with me emails, calendar and backups, Mozilla/Edge my internet browsing, Deezer my music, Signal my messaging and of course Google Maps to stop me getting lost.
I’m really just indifferent but as a big social media photographer who doesn’t really have a good camera, I’m looking at the pixel 3 which is darn cheap and has a great camera with wireless charging and is pretty nice overall. It’s better than my 6s😂

Okay so I might come out as an apple hater, but the issues I mainly see people are having is actually 1) it has become less of a tech brand to a luxury brand, people see having the newest iPhone or the newest Apple device as a status symbol, so Apple get away with pricing their products as luxury, coz generally people have a mindset that more expensive = better. 2) A lot of the North America share is coz people don't like the green bubble in texts, coz people in North America don't use apps like whatsapp to chat nd i have heard endless stories of people choosing Apple jst coz they don't wanna be the green bubble of group 3) Apple fans themselves make it funny nd annoying, like rn when they launched air tags people went like "that's a thing I always needed", but they never bought tile which was on the market for years. 4) they do bring new innovations but they do have practices of milking more from their existing customers like the charger thing this year, a lot of people don't upgrade every year, so people who upgraded after 3-4 years they somehow had to buy the new charger which throws their ecological stuff out of garbage. So it's less of Apple hate, more of how people perceive it rather than what it is hate.
I'm going to add this to the off my mom's iphone 11 I had to press the volume button down and power button at the same time same with my dad's iphone 12. Why what is the point? Also if all you need is the new base model M1 iMac you have to buy the block for Ethernet? Why not just have it on the computer already? Why only 1TB of storage? The list goes on. Why in 2021 is the base model iphone 12 coming with 64 gigs of storage for almost 800 dollars? Mean while TCL puts out a 500 dollar phone and you can get 256 gigs of storage.

Edit: If dislikes and likes do alter the UA-cam algorithm, I was hoping you could also answer this question. In videos which includes something harmless like a cute puppy, I find many likes. However, I also see hundreds of dislikes. If a cute dog video has millions of views, it has thousands of dislikes. Are some people just overly sensitive or does UA-cam add synthetic dislikes to alter the UA-cam algorithm?
Here in Brazil a pencil for the Ipad is litteraly more than the minimun salary. 1000 R$ for a plastic pencil. I know that is the best, but is just rediculous

My perfect combination and one I use almost since the dawn of time is an iPhone and a Windows desktop. Works great for me.

@@Eli_Naturinda windows laptops are garbage. Windows desktop, especially custom ones, is what you need. Way faster than anything else. If you need a laptop, get a macbook.

I saw a comment somewhere online that said "Apple is a fashion company that also just happens to make electronics". I feel like many people buy Apple products as a fashion statment without even considering other products. I've had multiple iphones. The experience was infuriating. I dealt with slow connections speeds, dropped calls, the absolutely ridiculous and overpowered keyboard, constant Bluetooth connection problems, and lousy customer support. Marketing works. Many people just get whatever they see commercials for, without doing any research about what other products are out there.
Before we are apple users but that was cut off in 2014 when i knew android, I decided to change Samsung since its a lot more affordable

Specs do matter. They matter then that you need to know what RAM you need what GPU is good for 4k vs 1080p vs what CPU works good with what GPU.
There is also the ssd, M.2 and HDD etc.
Way to many people are ignorant about that and buy really bad computers or by computers that are not powerful enough.
I hear it all the time. Normal people only need 4 to 8 gigs of ram. No they programs getting bigger and bigger with computers you need 16gigs of ram. The GPU and CPU also have to at best run the monitor at 1080p and at least 1440p.
More people have monitors that are 1080p and they will by really bad computers that can't run the computer at 1080p.
So yeah specs matter.
i just dont like the apple affect. if you have apple everything needs to be apple. i like the costumasation of android and windows. asspecialy as a software developer. that is why i have a strong dislike to apple

I enjoy my Apple iPhone because of what you mentioned-I’m not technologically savvy and I prefer having something simple and easy to use. People tease me all the time about my phone and I’m like “Why do you even care? I’m fine with my phone!” I like your videos, keep doing what you’re doing!

Iphone is not easy to use when I has mine it lasted 3 months because I went back to Samsung it just felt sluggish and shut I hated all the prompts for password just to download apps I don't use face ID or Touch because it's shit I tried it when in doubt password only but amount of times I forgot the password because I forget I just went back to android one time password to access Google and that's it bang easy and I love android its just simple a baby could use it apple is slow complicated and for that price the phone battery should last a week its a smart phone right would be nice to have a non rechargeable nuclear diamond battery that lasts for 4 years or even the life of 6 years of updates would be better

I had a perfectly fine macbook that ran really really fast and performed very well. I was really happy with it as it was a gift from my mum. That is until I updated the OS to Yosemite or something like this and now my MacBook became unusable. Slow with everything. It said in the update that it'll improve performance and all this. It was for FREE. It sounded great. But it did the complete opposite and made it worse. This was extra sad for me as the MacBook has some sentiment attached to it and seeing it become so slow and stupid actually broke my heart. As it was a waste of my mother's money.......... and I couldn't downgrade back??? So now I bought a gaming laptop. I do however have an iPad and am very wary with the updates, but sometimes the update is mandatory....like it'll say you can't run certain apps without making the update. Its goddamn bull****
Are you criticizing macs because changing the OS (the main reason macs run as good as they do) makes them slower?
But at least you would look cool holding it at Starbucks LOL. Seriously though I have been hearing more and more about hardware issues with Apple products and I must say that I am a bit surprised. Never owned an Apple product but I have always admired their attention to detail. Its like everything has to look and work perfect. I feel like Tim Cook philosophy is money compared to Steve Jobs who was more focused on consumer satisfaction.

There aooo many reasons why i hate apple.... But i used it love it, when steve was alive. It's been going down hill since 2016. I care about little details. They removed the ports, they removed the headphone jack, they removed the ability to change at least the memory or storage, they removed the support for 32bit which believe or not, looks of people still need, they removed the support for Nvidia and amd, m1 killed my compatibility options and finally... They removed the full display on every mac. The notch

I can afford them. I just don't like the culture.
As an example, back in 2014, I wanted a new workstation laptop, and my choice had narrowed to the Retina Macbook Pro 15", and a big beefy 3.5kg 17" PC complete with a dedicated GPU, user expandable components, basically the works.
The price was the same, but I valued raw computational power, and future user expandability higher than whatever thinness and lightness Apple brought to the table. I mean hell, I lugged around 3.5kg of PC around, rather than 2kg of Retina Macbook.
And I had iPhones (the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5S), but I switched to OnePlus, because I got tired with Apple's culture of "The Apple way, or the highway".
Apple to me, seem too controlling. I don't like their walled garden, and I don't like their closed ecosystem. The reason I dislike Apple more than most tech companies that sell hardware is because their hardware seldom play nice with others. Like the Airpods Pro, or whatever their headset is called, which basically need to be connected to another Apple product for full functionality to be unlocked. Either that, or their hardware has very little use flexibility like the Magic Mouse, which has the charging port located in a place that precludes the cable to also function as a data connection, so you can't use it as a wired mouse, should the battery fail.
To me, Apple's designs seem a bit obtuse sometimes, and their attitude to user repair is almost Freudian in their inability to let go of products even after they sold them to you.
why would i buy an expensive phone when i can buy a cheaper one that is possibly better or as good, unless u really love a companie's phone
Most people hate apple, because they never used Apple products before. I switched from Android to Apple and the upgrade is big. Even if i have an Older phone than my older A51. My iPhone X is faster, stronger and not laggy at all.

People don’t understand that there is more to a company than on-paper performance. The point about Apple being the only company to run its OS, is really important. There might be hundreds of millions of people buying apple products yet it’s still more tailor-made and exclusive than android and so what if people like that? A lot of apps work best on ios, and them having their own OS, that is fully in their control, means a better end product and why the Apple eco-system is so strong. This is the reason for the “Apple tax”. It’s a club that has millions of people around the world, but it’s still a club and I personally think that’s cool no matter how sheepish it sounds. All of the biggest and well known programmes for creatives are also most popular with Apple OS products. The one thing I wish would change is repair costs and reliability.
