Very important bit near the very end; rotating the exhaust cam to fit the sprocket. As long as the chain lines up, the sprocket has a notch in it so it can only bolt to the cam one way. Don’t be afraid to rotate the cam as long as you have your chain marks line up with the sprocket marks.

So correct me if I’m wrong, Honda recommends unlocking the actuator before torquing but if the chain is not hooked up and you torque with holding a wrench on the cam then it shouldn’t make a difference if the actuator is locked or unlocked.

How do you insure the chain doesn't skip a tooth on the crank while working on the top end? I can see how you inspect once chain is installed back on the cams via timing marks. Just when I do this, I don't want my chain to move on the crank. If that happens, well, timing cover removal.

Hey man that sounds like an awesome setup you have there. I’d be concerned with being able to torque the gears possibly with the limited amount of place with about an 1” or so I think you might be playing with fire. Not sure exactly what your working with but if there’s a possibility you can removed that engine mount and jack the engine some, then that may need the clearance need (remember to use a block of wood or rubber to jack the engine ok the pan). Good luck with the build 👍🏻

Thanks for the info and the video. I know I can do this I am just super nervous about messing up the timing. I dont know if I understand your explanation enough.

rpence20 unfortunately it’s tough to explain in a message biting you have never done timing before a shortcut was might not be the best approach. I’ll work on a video on how to time it tho.
