It looks actually better but it'll be more than that if you try to put a disc drive if you've got more physical games. Enjoy your PS5 pro along with your original.
I wish you could use the disc version in the normal ps5 and then convert your license to be digital and then carry on with the pro. I will get a disc drive for it once they back in stock x
I'm no gamer but my son is. He goes through controllers like crazy and I just had to take his PS5 in to repair the HDMI port for $150. I do like how the pro is smaller. Thanks Liam!

Tbh if you save up for it I would say treat yourself especially if you already don’t have a PS5 like that’s a big upgrade! It’s a bummer about the drive absolutely but you could always buy that in time like I’m going to do! I won’t excuse the price but if you breakdown the component cost I bet Sony ain’t making a big profit off them. They have sold consoles at a loss in the beginning! X

Awesome video mate. Great stuff! I got my PS5 Pro delivered yesterday, thankfully with a disc drive bundled and £50 off so had to take it lol. I’m loving it so far; I’m playing on an LG G4 55” and it’s absolutely Stellar! No pun intended as Stellar Blade was the first game I tested and it boasts significant improvements across the board, as does FF7 Rebirth, Last of us 2 Remastered & Spider-Man 2 to name a few. Really happy with the purchase.
@ I play the last of us part 1 and 2 remasters. I also love Days Gone. Also Star Wars Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor. I like the third person games. I struggle with FPS games.

Really good info and it sounds like maybe wouldn't be worth an upgrade but solid choice for a first time. If you’re craving it I would say just go for it. From a PS4 the upgrade is vast (not so much if you was already on Ps5) best thing about being an adult we can treat ourselves from time to time ☺️😜

I would say right now not a HUGE difference. Some games have decent upgrade but many not massive change. A pro It’s a nice to have! I would keep your spideman edition might be worth something in future! I used to always be selling stuff to get new stuff but now I keep everything I can tbh. I think I’ve got to point where I think selling stuff is a waste of money too vs what I paid for it.
as an xbox fan boy i wouldn't be getting one anyway, but it does seem like a steep upgrade. Bar a few titles i really thing this generation of consoles hasn't really lived up to the hype and expectations. Good luck with the channel btw. Also i think you should box it back up and Alexis have a go at the unboxing and review. I'll be expecting a full technical breakdown in a digital foundry stylee lol
Noooooo playing at 60hz you’re still getting better resolution and graphics settings in the enhanced games! I played it on downstairs tv as well and that’s only 60hz looks beautiful no issues
We moved from Xbox to the PS5 and the one thing that I do not like is the lack of storage. Moving games to and from the external is a chore! Thank you for the in depth review of the newer system, helps us decide whether or not to upgrade later on.
Best thing about ps5 is you can install your own SSD to expand the internal storage. It uses standard NVME SSD’s. Which are cheap nowadays- I have a 1TB Installed in my Pro so it’s now 3TB in total! Xbox on the other hand uses proprietary memory expansions and they are VERY expensive.

The PS1 hands down is the best console ever released - so many good memories!!! I still have one too - I sprayed it black and it's on display in my room!
While that Pro certainly looks sexier, I just can't see there's enough of a difference to throw that kind of money at it. Guess my fella is stuck with his original PS5. Great job on your first video! Look forward to seeing more in the future.
Yeah it’s not night and day so far. I have had a more in depth play this week and last of us does really impress on the pro. I have just completed the first game and making my way through the second - never got round to playing them and I’m having a fantastic time! X

I really enjoyed the fighting mechanics in the batman games wish they would move it over the more games - I enjoyed Gotham Knights but it was lacking in content x

Great video. I saw a article from WccfTech earlier, that the game boost on the pro, is only delivering 30% boost and not 45% as advertised.. But that was with unpatched games. The pro enhanced patched games should make a big difference. Is the pro a noticeable difference with base PS5 games vs PS5 pro games? I guess it all depends on the developers and the talent they have on a specific game to utilize the tools of the power of the pro. Cause some games.I saw hardly a difference but other games I saw big differences. 3rd party games are important to run and look better on the pro. Since 1st party playstation studio games Always looked and played amazing even from before. PSSR is a game changer and will get better and better in due time.
Yeah they can be big swings in performance. Hopefully 30% is enough in most games to hit that 60fps lock. In enhanced games they is defo a mix bag. What’s annoying is there is no guarantee by Sony as a minimum performance target. Developers are free to do as they please as is the case with Hogwarts legacy - new pro fidelity mode runs at a lower frame rate than the base console albeit with higher resolution and graphics effects. Last of us is my favourite example so far and I’m so glad to be experiencing this for the first time in the remake. Thoroughly enjoying myself! X
I have paired my PS5 Pro with an LG C2 OLED as well but I have to say 30fps modes (as well as backwards compatible games) are horrific in motion. Maybe I’m too used to 60+ fps on PC but I swear it didn’t feel THIS bad before. Performance modes on pro enhanced games is where the bigger difference is at (though I see little to no visual difference in non enhanced titles unfortunately). It’s just sad that 30fps is still a thing on the Pro. In my opinion 30fps needs to go now…it’s 2024!
Yea the reason 30fps looks worse on an OLED is due to the instant response of the pixels changing/updating. So 30fps looks much more jittery in motion compared to on a standard led/lcd panel as there pixels have much slower refresh meaning it gives a smoothing effect anyways. Yea same here really a few enhanced titles have impressed many just seem a bit meh at the moment x
Appreciate your honesty that you where a bit disappointed i got s ps4 and would not upgrade to a ps5/pro unless like fallout 5 borderlands 4 comes out then maybe i would upgrade but not for the games i already have onthe ps4. Ps love the video you do need your own outro catch phrase

It’s down to you as a person really. For me I’m enjoying it but I won’t deny it’s expensive. It is better it’s just how much better vs the cost to you. I’m looking forward to playing FF Rebirth because that looked like trash on PS5 in its performance mode. I’m very impressed with how The Last of Us looks - it’s incredible but I do sit a few feet away from a 48” Oled. Sat on a sofa ten feet away I probably wouldn’t see as much a difference but the increase in frame rate is very welcome especially in the unlocked mode!
So The last time I played PS was bk when ps 1 and possibly 2 was out. I foujd night clubs and had no time but then my next console was xbox 360 I obviously had Super Nintendo and Sega Mega drives back in the day and atari years ago when my brother got one. I play on xbox primarily now. I prefer a disc drive because I like discs incase I want to sell on and I can watch dvds on it. It's a bit crap that you can't always get some titles across platforms. My daughter wants to play last of us but we don't need another console. We have 4 xbox's as it is. So she can just play that at her boyfriends place. Would I pay £700? No. If there is no immediate difference and I can play the games I have happily? I'll just stick with the things I have. This was a fantastic thought out and well executed video You have a wealth of knowledge about a lot of things that I don't but I still found it really interesting Keep them coming and gl with the disc drive 👍

From the games I have played so far - God of war ragnarok, spiderman 1&2&Miles, Horizon Zero Dawn and last of us Part 1 & 2 it’s the last two which have been the most impressive for me. The others have been like mehhh. I think it will be interesting to see how developers tap into the extra horse power. It’s unreal engine 5 games that look quite rough on the Original PS5 so be interesting to see how they fair on the Pro when the patches come in

While that Pro certainly looks sexier, I just can't see there's enough of a difference to throw that kind of money at it. Guess my fella is stuck with his original PS5. Great job on your first video! Look forward to seeing more in the future.
Yeah it’s not night and day so far. I have had a more in depth play this week and last of us does really impress on the pro. I have just completed the first game and making my way through the second - never got round to playing them and I’m having a fantastic time! X

I really enjoyed the fighting mechanics in the batman games wish they would move it over the more games - I enjoyed Gotham Knights but it was lacking in content x

Great video. I saw a article from WccfTech earlier, that the game boost on the pro, is only delivering 30% boost and not 45% as advertised.. But that was with unpatched games. The pro enhanced patched games should make a big difference. Is the pro a noticeable difference with base PS5 games vs PS5 pro games? I guess it all depends on the developers and the talent they have on a specific game to utilize the tools of the power of the pro. Cause some games.I saw hardly a difference but other games I saw big differences. 3rd party games are important to run and look better on the pro. Since 1st party playstation studio games Always looked and played amazing even from before. PSSR is a game changer and will get better and better in due time.
Yeah they can be big swings in performance. Hopefully 30% is enough in most games to hit that 60fps lock. In enhanced games they is defo a mix bag. What’s annoying is there is no guarantee by Sony as a minimum performance target. Developers are free to do as they please as is the case with Hogwarts legacy - new pro fidelity mode runs at a lower frame rate than the base console albeit with higher resolution and graphics effects. Last of us is my favourite example so far and I’m so glad to be experiencing this for the first time in the remake. Thoroughly enjoying myself! X
I have paired my PS5 Pro with an LG C2 OLED as well but I have to say 30fps modes (as well as backwards compatible games) are horrific in motion. Maybe I’m too used to 60+ fps on PC but I swear it didn’t feel THIS bad before. Performance modes on pro enhanced games is where the bigger difference is at (though I see little to no visual difference in non enhanced titles unfortunately). It’s just sad that 30fps is still a thing on the Pro. In my opinion 30fps needs to go now…it’s 2024!
Yea the reason 30fps looks worse on an OLED is due to the instant response of the pixels changing/updating. So 30fps looks much more jittery in motion compared to on a standard led/lcd panel as there pixels have much slower refresh meaning it gives a smoothing effect anyways. Yea same here really a few enhanced titles have impressed many just seem a bit meh at the moment x
Appreciate your honesty that you where a bit disappointed i got s ps4 and would not upgrade to a ps5/pro unless like fallout 5 borderlands 4 comes out then maybe i would upgrade but not for the games i already have onthe ps4. Ps love the video you do need your own outro catch phrase

It’s down to you as a person really. For me I’m enjoying it but I won’t deny it’s expensive. It is better it’s just how much better vs the cost to you. I’m looking forward to playing FF Rebirth because that looked like trash on PS5 in its performance mode. I’m very impressed with how The Last of Us looks - it’s incredible but I do sit a few feet away from a 48” Oled. Sat on a sofa ten feet away I probably wouldn’t see as much a difference but the increase in frame rate is very welcome especially in the unlocked mode!

So The last time I played PS was bk when ps 1 and possibly 2 was out. I foujd night clubs and had no time but then my next console was xbox 360
I obviously had Super Nintendo and Sega Mega drives back in the day and atari years ago when my brother got one. I play on xbox primarily now. I prefer a disc drive because I like discs incase I want to sell on and I can watch dvds on it. It's a bit crap that you can't always get some titles across platforms. My daughter wants to play last of us but we don't need another console. We have 4 xbox's as it is. So she can just play that at her boyfriends place. Would I pay £700? No. If there is no immediate difference and I can play the games I have happily? I'll just stick with the things I have. This was a fantastic thought out and well executed video

From the games I have played so far - God of war ragnarok, spiderman 1&2&Miles, Horizon Zero Dawn and last of us Part 1 & 2 it’s the last two which have been the most impressive for me. The others have been like mehhh. I think it will be interesting to see how developers tap into the extra horse power. It’s unreal engine 5 games that look quite rough on the Original PS5 so be interesting to see how they fair on the Pro when the patches come in
