@CKid.. Maybe you can help me figure this out. So a couple months ago I bought the PlayStation 5 with the disk drive, I paid $450 plus another $50 for a warranty. So, I got $500 wrapped up in it, my TV is 4K but I don't believe it's 60 or 120 HZ.. I have not opened this I even waited a couple months when I heard the Pro was going to come out.. being told I would get full amount but it went over 30 days.. GameStop is only going to give me $300 rather than a full $500. So, essentially I have a brand new PS5 with the disc Drive-In warranty. So if I trade for the pro I'm going to have to Shell out 400 on top of trading my brand new in the box PS5.. Is it worth it, what should I do??
Thanks for sharing this with us. People like you deserve respect for being honest with the other people unlike the majority of playstation fans who overprice ps5 pro which is fine, but they make it like it is a whole world of a difference compared to the base ps5. I personally have an oled tv and i was on the fence to get ps5 pro but i decided to stick with my og ps5 and gaming pc. For 700 euros i can easily upgrade my gpu 7800xt and jump on a true 4k resolution.
Couldn’t agree more with all of your points. Fortunately, I can afford the upgrade, but there’s nothing about it that excites me or makes me feel like I’m getting my money’s worth.
Totally. I am going to buy it later today, I am not excited about it and I don't expect to be able to see a difference. I have 77" LG C3. I just want the best console experience and to be a little bit more future proofed. I also don't consider it $700. Selling PS5 for $300 so it's really a $400 console so who cares.
I will be purchasing the PS5 slim for the first time around Christmas. To me the upgrade isn't worth the extra $200. I'm content to wait on the PS6 which will give Sony the opportunity to improve their PSSR and upgrade the CPU. New technology always has bugs so people should have that expectation in mind when being an early adopter.
Thankfully that's not for you or any of these youtubers to say, if someone can spare the extra money that the pro means and want to do it then it's worth it for them.
If they are... let me sneak in a FU Sony !! For being soo mf greedy that you release a console rocking a 5 year old CPU, dooming its future potential based on that bottleneck alone !
Lol😂 all they did was give more options for people who are willing to spend more money. If businesses ran on air they’d give out all for free. Stick with the base ps5 of you can’t afford it. They didn’t abandon the console so there’s no reason to be bothered more importantly they’re not forcing anyone to upgrade.
Makes sense for manufacturers to go digital so that's where they will take it. Once you start buying digital games in an ecosystem, you're more likely to stick with that company (sony, MS and the handful of game distributors on PC i.e. steam, gog, epic etc).
@@dujuanjohnson5025since when? Unless you are building huge libraries of games it's not that cluttering. And it's pretty easy to find an out of the way spot to tuck em.
@@ah2176 having physical is nice but these days it's basically a redemption code and you jave to download it anyway. Very few people are watching blu rays.. the last physical place to rent them via redbox is done for besides online stores i.e. mail-in services. Who wants that? People will pay more to stream instantly than wait 2-3 days for a movie to be delivered. I get it though but this is where we're headed and where PC has been for a decade. Makes sense for distributors as well.. they remove the middle men out of the transaction saving money on manufacturing and distribution costs. Physical will be gone next gen more than likely. I used to like physical because you could at least sell your games and recoup some money when you were done. Now, with servies like CD keys, you can buy a game like Control for $5 or less whereas the physical version is 3-5x more expensive. Say it was $25 and you beat the game and sell it on ebay.. ok, sale price is $17, minues packaging, minus shipping and minus ebay's cut and you make a whopping $8... Or you buy the same game digitally for $5 and lose out on $3 but get to keep the game forever or until WW3. If you're a console gamer you get fleeced on game prices whereas on PC you dont. Check out CD keys app if you have an xbox (i dont think they do ps5 or switch). You can get digital games for super cheap and game pass ultimate 1 month for $10 instead of 19.99.
Huh. Im playing on a 120” 4K projector and it’s a huge difference, but that’s a pretty uncommon setup. I’m guessing that’s why it seems like such a big improvement?
**UPDATE** make sure you guys go on the game on the home screen or your library press start and select check for update. i had to do this to some of my game to see the changes
I'm getting over 500mb/s download speeds & my connection is not even better than yours. MUCH faster than my base PS5. Something's not right with your setup or router I think.
Yeah I have 2GB fiber connection. Tried Ethernet and WiFi 7 router, most I could get was 350 Mb download / 50 Mb upload. On XBSX, I get a full 750 Mbps upload and download. I’m glad it’s not just me!
@funkDr1 comparing to xbox is crazy 😂 the original xbox 1 is dog, it caps at 60fps for starters 😮, the series s isn't bad, but running fortnite on the series X, man it's night and day between all 3 xboxs
have you tried connecting to the 5ghz band instead of the 2.4ghz ... i believe if you have set it to "automatic" in your internet settings on the playstation, it will connect to 2,4 ghz
This isn’t it. Same results with Ethernet connection. 2 Gbps fiber connection also for me and it tops out at 350 Mbps download, 50 up - Sony is hard capping the bandwidth somehow.
@@KeiferStreetyou have issues with the lines in your house or from the pole to the house. Something is causing your speeds to drop. I get 400mbps. I had voltage on my lines causing issues. Also make sure the modem and router being used can handle those speeds.
How long does it take you when you open under settings the console storage or the M.2-SSD? It seems to me that it takes longer to open on the Pro than on the normal PS5 🤔
@@DarthLordRavenyeah I think that can definitely be addressed in later software updates. I love my Pro & I do see it’s worth but I do wish Sony would have distinguished it more from its lower lineups.
I traded in my original 2020 PS5 for the pro for future games and everything is cool, i’m sure over the next couple months. There will be updates for the system moving forward y’all gotta relax. It’s only been 48 hours since the system drop.
Please say that again..!! This system just came out and it's not even a week yet and some people are bashing this system. It's like something has to be wrong with it. There are some things that I like about the pro and other things I don't like.. But I know this system just came out and I'm happy with my purchase. I didn't buy it cause I wanna see old games look better, or looking for top notch picture quality on ps5 pro. I played it for both settings of frames and quality and that's I have. The other features I could careless about. Almost everyone wants to see this console fail. This system will have updates through its cycle like they did with the OG 5 did. The small details or color and maybe sharper picture on ps4 games are nice, u can see it a little detail in that. You can see more dynamic colors an a little sharpness.. But over, still no regrets getting this.. People buy it on day one and already saying, nope I don't like it it's useless/trash is a damn🤡🤡
Sony being a tec company should’ve released this with the correct settings for WiFi 7 out of the box. If that’s going to be one of the marquee features you advertise, having to wait for an update is kind of ridiculous. Look at all of the tech reviewers giving Apple crap for releasing the iPhone 16 pro without apple intelligence. They literally said that phone was built for AI and it was stuck behind an update. If people don’t call these companies out they’ll do whatever they want. For a multi billion dollar company all we have is complaining when it’s not right. $700 for an incomplete product. No thanks.
Thanks as always for the honest assessment of the current status. As expected, not everything about the Pro is pro. Hopefully some things can be improved with various updates. Sadly, it's the same standard as releasing unfinished games. Service to the consumer is no longer the top priority for all large companies✌️
I canceled mine as well, it’s not worth the price imo. I took the funds that I would have used on the pro to upgrade my pc. I made that decision the day before release.
Smart move it’s really not worth it. I have a oled. I had it preordered and was gonna wait until Saturday to pick it up because I wanted to see more reviews. I couldn’t wait and picked it up launch date. The tiny increase in graphics isn’t worth it just my opinion.
for most of us. You need to change it from automatic to 5hz, and change your dns primary and secondary. I get 487 on download for my ps5 pro. Second option is to use ethernet only.
This isn’t it. Same results with Ethernet connection. 2 Gbps fiber connection also for me and it tops out at 350 Mbps download, 50 up - Sony is hard capping the bandwidth somehow.
@ I too, am using a Cat 8 cable on a 2,000 Mbps fiber connection. Realize it caps out at 1Gbps due to not having a 10 Gb NIC, but I can’t get more than 400 no matter what I do. My PC gets 2,000 on the same cable and I can consistently get 750-800 on my Xbox Series X. Again, same cable and everything else. Something’s up.
@ yeah to be fair, I heard it when I was downloading a bunch of games and had the tv muted. So not exactly a representation of real life. Nobody watches or plays in total quiet. But it still caught my attention.
When I transferred games over and downloaded games. Yes, that fan kicked in louder.. Other then that to me it's still quite. Plus I play with headphones and my console isn't right next to me
@@MikkelsenRI can hear air blowing while playing games but only if I’m standing near it. My old ps5 I didn’t hear much air but it buzzed louder than my pro. So both make noise it’s just kinda different noise.
Something is wrong with your setup for the PS5 Pro to be getting low speeds because if it's over Wi-Fi it's probably interference with something in your room. It makes no sense for the OG to get higher speeds just a couple feet from the PRo and it's getting dramatically higher speeds unless it's hooked up to Ethernet.
If you want 4k with RT you still have to play at 30fps . I will play at 1440p/60 or 1080p/60ps without RT before 8k/30fps with full RT. A $3000 4090 struggles at 4k/60 with RT on how is a $700 going to do it?
Let’s be real about the PS5 UI… Why would Sony even bother about creating a different OS experience separating the 2, “PS5” Consoles. All 3 PS5 consoles are in the same generation. Keep in mind that no operation system MacBooks, All Windows, IOS, Android, hell even Tesla’s don’t even bother doing this. No with cell phones we do see things like further zoom or 120hz modes to tell each phone apart but the UI stays the same. ie IOS or Android.
Probably lack of people who have the Portal. Pretty unnecessary with the remote play app and a phone. Like if people complain about an Extra 310 over base for the pro, were they ever gonna get the portal which can’t even play any games on its own unlike the Vita/PSP.
This is a very honest review. All the other ones are click bait but this was actually engaging and you could hear the passion in this brothers voice. They really ought to hire you for product testing
The developers have had the PS5 Pro for many months, correct? I'm a bit frustrated that Gran Turismo 7 doesn't have the Pro patch yet. That's the first game I wanted to try.
@r3tr0sp3ct3r And a higher resolution and FPS that I do notice too, plus all the other games that are Pro enhanced. I really notice the difference for Hogwarts Legacy so far. I've heard that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is really enhanced too. I have a 4k HDR VRR OLED TV so it's really noticeable.
For those saying “it just came out it’ll get updated!” For $700 I shouldn’t be getting a slightly better graphical boost and a terabyte at launch and that’s it. The pro launched with no pro features.
When the PS5 came out in 2020, they made sher most of the games were boosted from what I remember it took months ... BUT you are correct it's unacceptable for that amount of money and not to be ready
Slightly better. How is playing RE4 remake at 1080p 120fps with PSSR upscaling "slightly better". How is playing games like Horizon 2 at 4k locked 60 slightly better. Dragon's Dogma 2 basically runs fucking buttery smooth now at a high res, even above 60fps. If you don't care about visuals at good framerates then thats you, but don't be saying bullshit. Also, multiple other comments have confirmed its something with his setup or router. I get 900 up/down. Also, 2TB of storage is wild, that extra TB is $70-100 value. So getting the insane framerate jumps and visual fidelity for a fraction of the price of a PC GPU is insane. The whole point of the Pro is game performance. I bet even in a few months it will have cool new features that make use of the hardware.
@@zerosolis6664 the ending is exactly my point. Yeah a few games so far can play at 120fps with ray tracing which isn’t new. You can do that in spiderman 2. Like it’s not all that new so yes it is slightly better. As far as WiFi speeds my Series X gets speeds just slightly under that. The point of the matter is most of this stuff should already be a thing or it shouldn’t launch “needing updates”. It’s not worth 700 and that’s before tax so it’s honestly about 800. You can get a decent pc for that price.
@@zerosolis6664FACTS!! They just don't get it dawg... And I bet many of them are just haters, lying about having the Pro and playing on it to get others to not get it. I'm loving mines!
I’m really loving dead space remastered on the pro. The lighting and smoke on that game is the most realistic I’ve ever seen in video games ever. It looks like actual real life smoke mixed with how the lighting was hitting it at 60fps 4K. Wow. Still haven’t gotten to spiderman 2 yet ..
Great video! Definitely throwing you a sub. And thank you for mentioning the monetary cutoff for how much you get for your used PS5 in order to make it worth it to upgrade to pro. No one seems to be talking about that. Everyone makes it seem like you're just going to keep your PS5 and spend $700 straight up for the pro. I never keep my old system, I always consider that as potential trade-in money towards the new system.
Got the pro on launch day. My question is do you have to pay for the pro enhanced versions of the game? I thought they were going to be just added on to the game but are we going to have to pay for them.. if so, that is totally unacceptable.
Am I the only one who is questioning why there are still different game modes on the ps5 pro to begin with? Wasn't the whole point Mark Cerny was trying to pitch being that there are no more options and that you get the best of everything. A performance mode with fidelity mode level visuals? He was saying that the point of the ps5 pro is that you no longer have to choose between quality mode and performance mode because you will get both out the gate and you can just enjoy your games without worrying which mode to choose.🤷 Dude lied to you all and still took your money😂😂😂😂
Yeah I was upset about that too. Games still have a 30 FPS mode lol. To be fair having the hardware push it further and giving you the option is still better then not having a choice. The game still looks significantly better with 60 fps.
@@thatonefoofrumlongbe I agree, however, if now we have a Spiderman 2 60fps pro mode and a better 30 fps pro mode, once again I want a console to run THAT fidelity with 60fps 😂 we went back to the beginning. Still getting my pro.
@@apocalic we know. What we are saying is that now there is a new 30fps quality mode. So once again we need to wait to see a console with that quality on 60fps. Is a never ending cycle.
Only if you hardwire in. But why is the WiFi so bad on it? I can’t even hit 100mbps. That unacceptable my guy. Especially if they claiming it’s WiFi 7. Nah bruh
3:59 this is nowhere near 2gb down . the measurement is Mb megabits not MB megabytes 1megabyte=8megabits . this is actually around 240MB so 0.24GB down
I have the Eero Max 7 which is a WiFi 7 router and did a speed test in the video on my computer using WiFi 7 to show what my actual speeds are that the PlayStation should be giving me.
@@CKidMSome people don’t want to watch. They just bring out the pitchforks. SMH. Good vid. This made me want to check the WiFi settings on my son’s PS5 now. I have ALWAYS felt Sony is on that BS when it comes to connection speeds. Even on PS3! If people knew how fast Series X downloads games, they might feel some type of way. It’s like day and night on my 1 gig fiber connection.
It doesn't even give you the full use of WiFi 6 either. I have nice WiFi 6 Router and ran my own CAT6 straight from router. It took me over 13 hours to transfer data from my Regular PS5 to the Pro. That's pretty shitty..!!! I don't notice anything special so far and very disappointed so far...
This is why it’s important not to listen to extreme fanboys of any system because the bias is already present. Instead go somewhere like digital foundry where they will break it down and give you an unbiased opinion and let you know what are the true pros and cons . Because channels like this will just keep moving the goal post further and further away.
I return mines the next day to Best Buy because not getting a disc drive due to being sold out all over. But I didn’t feel anything differently when turning it on felt like a reg ps5. I will pick one up next year when I do see dedicated games for it. Hope by then it will be kinda worth it to keep

@@JYTheHungryRoninSony will still be running their scam even then... they should have given us the PS56 in 3019 still rocking a 5-6 year old CPU in 3025.... smh
One thing to check with you WiFi name is to see if you split your 2.4 and 5G network. It's more convenient to have them named the same but sometimes devices will lock in to the 2.5 network. most new routers have both networks with the same name.
It would increase the price too much for the little benefit it would provide
9 днів тому
@julianchillby1024 no it would not. They released a 2024 console with a FIVE year old CPU... the console having this exact CPU costs half. There have been several generations of CPU since then. Sony still chose to increase the price while giving us an ancient CPU which by the time GTA6 gets here is already doomed by the bottleneck CPU. Prices of PC components that are 5 years old decrease with time. Not increase with time. You are just either ignorant or a shill.
Ive been looking for someone to convince me to spend $700 + $80 for the drive + $30 for the stand + tax. Basically $1000 (without a single game). I don't think its possible at this point
3:24 for your download and upload speeds you will not get the full amount of speed you pay for from the ISP. There is a percentage of bandwidth that is saved for everything connected to your network even if it's off. Usually your isp will provide 1 to 3 gb download but only 50mb upload and again divided by how many items you have connected. Ethernet direct is max at 1Gb unless they have a 2.5 port on the router and in the ps5

Look up "loading times"... see the difference between them... then get the PS5 and save the money. The PS5 "Pro" has the same 5 year old CPU and will be equally bottlenecked for all future games...and no GTA6 will not run good on it for this reason. What is you move the pro over to the same area as the regular ps5? They would have to write a new UI - isn’t that like saying windows looks the same on a 3060 vs a 4090?
So far i am a big disappointed with my pro :( I tested alan wake 2, silent hill 2 remake, dragons dogma, re4 remake, jedi survivor and they all have some weird shimmering and aliasing problems Spider man 2 looks good tho Pssr needs a lot of improvements
I'm sorry but that sounds like an issue with either the HDMI cable or the TV or monitor you're using. The Pro is definitely solid for me in the games I've played. No tearing or shimmering or aliasing. Shimmer and tearing is usually due to the type of TV or monitor display along with the cable you're using. You should be using the HDMI 2.1 cable that came with the system. If you are using 2.0 cable, or a FHD or QHD TV or monitor that might have come with a 2.0 cable, I bet you that's the problem. Hope this helps👍

As a Sony guy through and through since day 1 in 1994.. I’ve gotta say this guys.. Remember the false advertisement on the original PS5 Box that said “8k” ?.. Nobody on this planet was getting 8K on any game on this console.. Now why in the hell would Sony go that far and stoop that damn low in false advertisement? Now we’ve got this Pro BS… Jesus man I think I have officially been pushed out of the console era and gonna build myself a nice high range gaming PC. Been sitting on the fence with that for over a year and it’s time to build one now. Sony has really gone downhill!
My last console was a PS3 in part because I needed a new PC at the time for College work. So I built a gaming PC instead since I could only afford a PC or PS4 at the time. The other reason was that I got tired of being forced to upgrade to play the latest games. At least with a PC a decent mid range build will last you at least 10 years. And even then you can still play new games on old hardware with the settings turned down. And even when you go to upgrade your PC you can just upgrade the GPU first and later on the Motherboard and CPU when you can comfortably afford it.
You’ve been in the PC game for a good while! My buddies had all made the switch around 5 years ago and never looked back. I totally see why too and have realized it for more than a year now. The PS5 Generation is where the buck finally stops for me. I’m late to the party but you know what? It’s better late than never right? Haha
Your ISP rate, time of day, the destination server's rate, your device, your router, your house's ethernet wiring, switches, access points, and location of APs must all support the speed as well or you won't get the speed.
Waste of Money in this economy with inflation. Return that console. When I went to GameStop to see if I can get a good deal on swapping the PS5 slim for a PS5 Pro even the manager of the store said it's not even worth it!!
How are you going to let somone dictate whether you like somthing or not most of those dudes at game stop are pc guys and the are most all biased against the ps. It is not a waste of money to people who want it,maybe you see it that way but you aren't them so how can you tell them it's a waste of money?

Makes sense for manufacturers to go digital so that's where they will take it. Once you start buying digital games in an ecosystem, you're more likely to stick with that company (sony, MS and the handful of game distributors on PC i.e. steam, gog, epic etc).
Physical means clutter. Digital is more cleaner
Can't believe so many people are cool with buying digital and getting their games taken from them for numerous reasons.

No thanks.

He was saying that the point of the ps5 pro is that you no longer have to choose between quality mode and performance mode because you will get both out the gate and you can just enjoy your games without worrying which mode to choose.🤷 Dude lied to you all and still took your money😂😂😂😂
mark cerny said he was narrowing the divide. He didn’t say there wouldn’t be graphics modes anymore.
Yeah I was upset about that too. Games still have a 30 FPS mode lol. To be fair having the hardware push it further and giving you the option is still better then not having a choice. The game still looks significantly better with 60 fps.

What is you move the pro over to the same area as the regular ps5?
They would have to write a new UI - isn’t that like saying windows looks the same on a 3060 vs a 4090?
5 minutes to complain about internet speeds, repeating over and over
So get lost clown
What was the car game you were playing during this video? Yellow mustang?
So far i am a big disappointed with my pro :(
I tested alan wake 2, silent hill 2 remake, dragons dogma, re4 remake, jedi survivor and they all have some weird shimmering and aliasing problems
Spider man 2 looks good tho
Pssr needs a lot of improvements
I'm sorry but that sounds like an issue with either the HDMI cable or the TV or monitor you're using. The Pro is definitely solid for me in the games I've played. No tearing or shimmering or aliasing. Shimmer and tearing is usually due to the type of TV or monitor display along with the cable you're using. You should be using the HDMI 2.1 cable that came with the system. If you are using 2.0 cable, or a FHD or QHD TV or monitor that might have come with a 2.0 cable, I bet you that's the problem. Hope this helps👍
@@AI-AITUMthere are videos you can find from multiple people confirming my words plus digital foundry said it as well in their video about dragons dogma 2 and alan wake 2
I have a 4k 120 oled tv with hdr and vrr and i have a regular ps5 with the same 2.1 cable
If it was the problem with cable or tv, it would be the same in spider man 2
But spider man 2 and horizon forbidden west look perfect
This was a honest ass review, I really appreciate creators like you. Wishing you many successes.
Thanks fam appreciate that 💯
invest that money into a PC, your money will go much further!
No it won't
@bnnett used 3070 is $250 😂
@@chumlee9562 😂 After getting the 3070 for $250 we need everything else.
@@bnnett with 600 bucks left? 😆 🤣
Easy sweep

My biggest takeaway on the Pro is this: If they released this garbage for $700+, imagine how much the PS6 is gonna cost!
No disrespect but my download speed hovers around 672mb/s. The console does exactly what it was advertised to do. I'm enjoying it but carry on.

It’s not about being broke lol . I was just saying this the other day , we live in a consumer social market where there’s no justification for ridiculous prices but company’s still make insane sells . People IQs have dropped significantly. I can buy 4 ps5 pro today but I refuse to pay $700 for a primal update .
Haha
I switch to PC 10 years ago because they were going to charge for online.
Your ISP rate, time of day, the destination server's rate, your device, your router, your house's ethernet wiring, switches, access points, and location of APs must all support the speed as well or you won't get the speed.
Waste of Money in this economy with inflation. Return that console. When I went to GameStop to see if I can get a good deal on swapping the PS5 slim for a PS5 Pro even the manager of the store said it's not even worth it!!
cool story haha
😂😂😂 if you can't afford it, just say so.
@@n8tivesun673 he actually wants us to believe someone at gamestop out of all places didn't want to sell him a new console
Bro we talking about receiving advice from someone working at GameStop. For that reason I’m out
How are you going to let somone dictate whether you like somthing or not most of those dudes at game stop are pc guys and the are most all biased against the ps. It is not a waste of money to people who want it,maybe you see it that way but you aren't them so how can you tell them it's a waste of money?
It's still available to buy on the UK not only that someone is selling it $50 cheaper on eBay. It seems like it's backfiring on the scalpers.
Them framerates look crappy as hell
The damn console stops downloading games mid way thru and disconnects you from wifi and you can't get back online without a console restart.
You boys got gipped 😂
wait until the PS6 Pro drops. That unit will render Wolfenstein 3D with smoother edges, sharper graphics and run at a steady 65 FPS. No new games but who cares? You buying it bro?
They definitely need to add the strips to the icon online asap
