As a PC owner, nothing is more pitiful to me than PC dudes bashing the PS5 Pro, #1 we do not use disk drives in most PC these days to play games. #2 I hate how much they are trying to convince gamers that a $700 PC is a better gaming device than the Pro. #3 HOW ARE PC GAMERS complaining bout incremental improvements when they have to do that very thing every 2 to 3 years to get the most from their RIG! #4 "The PC does more than the PS5 Pro" I think if PC gamers have not realised, the Pro is focused on gaming, and not a damn Adobe or MS word utility. Then they should stop gaming and begin learning to use common sense online. Buy and enjoy the tech you own and stop bashing things other want/have.
Another pc gamer here, 100% agree. They also don't tell you how expensive everything becomes when you wannt upgrade. Like you need a whole new motherboard just to upgrade to newer cpus.
Facts on facts! Besides the Pro can’t be measured! It’s designed for end user satisfaction i.e. what we actually see and experience. The. Pro has rendered meters, overlays and benchmarks, irrelevant. The level of your satisfaction and level of experience will depend on your TV…120hz, hdmi 2.1, VRR and ALLM( to compensate for the TV’s AI upscaler, if you have a good Sony or LG)are all mandatory to see what this magic Cerny created actually does!!!! Good Video Bro!
As all things gamer here I agree 100 percent. I own all consoles and a gaming PC due to the fact that I love this hobby and some of the people I game with including my Son who is an Xbox and PS gamer and who’s an active Military service member over seas, it is nice to be able to play online games with him on Series X or PS. I have friends who are PC gamers and love to game with them as well. I love portable gaming on the go and love Nintendo IP so switch is my jam for that. With the addition of PC handheld gaming I love being able to take my Steam,GOG and Epic game libraries with me on the go or in my bedroom at night. The thing is that each platform has their strengths and weaknesses. This generation is the best time to be a gamer as you can game on multiple devices and have access to all different platforms with games from all different publishers at your fingertips. You couldn’t do that in the late 80s up till mid 2000s like you can now. Enjoy playing the games you want and don’t believe the negative hype around the PRO. It’s amazing and I’m loving mine so far
I love how "average" your reviews are, for 99% of consumers the average experience is what matters, i used to build PC's a few years back for the graphics power, overclock etc. but really when it comes down to it, a simple console setup with a good output will satisfy me now over the headache that is PC building.
@@MinimalisTech exactly, I’d prefer a pc for games like total war or sandbox builder games like City Skylines but apart from that, console all day long now.
Get double the storage, cheaper than pc ,better GPU pssr and hell of great games what else we want I bought mine it's amazing fantastic great machine Don't follow media it's better than ps5 Price yeah but still justified if you buy pc with same specs
@Angel-Azrael no bro I got mine it's a great machine cheaper than pc with pssr buy it because you can not wait on 30 FPS for next 4 years donor follow media
The argument of consoles to compete with pc’s is such a moot point. I love how you approached the fact they’re both incredible for their own situations. I’ve got all and play all. Love gaming period.
Current most popular GPU on steam...a rtx 3060... Next most popular...a 4060. So when people talk about how much more a pc can do, you need to qualify that statement and also quantify how much you need to spend to get those results. I'm an ex pc gamer myself and back in day I ran with a GTX 690 when it came out, sli version of what was the most expensive consumer GPU at time, but I paid through the nose for the experience. Currently to buy a better pc from scratch, even when scrimping a bit on parts and case etc, you can't make your own pc for less than a ps5 pro (let alone buying one ready made). Them you need to factor in if you want to buy a good monitor (existing pc gamers will already have one most likely, but for me, it would have meant buying an oled monitor that cost almost as much as pro, if I didn't want to end up with inferior image quality than my existing TV) and keyboard and mouse (or at least a game pad to play games and a cheap mouse and kb to get around your pc (you could use steam os if you really wanted, but we all know that has limitations) There's always grey areas that people kinda just ignore when making argument for pc Vs console ( it works both ways in reality)
great points here dude! my 690 lasted aaaaaaggges when I built that one out too haha. Gaming is gaming to me, I agree too, always grey areas. People love to moan about PC vs Console, it's wild
You saying like there's a bunch of people buying the pro, but in reality most console players are still on their ps4pro or ps5😂😂 which is gtx1050ti and rtx2070 respectively. Meanwhile there are 10%+ users on steam that's using a 3080/4070 or better gpu, which is at least 40% faster than the newest console😂😂😂😂
I love your point about the console being focused on gaming. I find myself getting distracted on my pc a lot and sometimes even forget what I wanted to play.
nice video men, i agree with you, i spend most of my time on a pc for work, so in my free time i go to my ps5 and forget about all the stuff that still need to be done on the pc, is another state of mind
I own a gaming pc too, kinda regret paying almost 4K for it. But I’m just a causal gamer bro…. The only thing I played was indie games that still in beta and palworld at that time. But rather just chill on my couch on a controller without logging into discord and etc. ps5 pro was made for people like me that just want a stable 60 with “next generation Ai” ps5.
I sold my og ps5 for 350 and i am soo happy i did i am loving the pro it makes everything look extra clean it looks fantastic on my 55 inch sony bravia 😊😊😊
The PS5 pro is the best console the world has ever seen to date. I'm so happy with my purchase. Upscaled 4k at 60 frames is what I wanted out of the base PS5.
@@theramennoodler7950 Upscaled, but the upscaling solutions vary in quality, some great, others fairly bad. PS5 Pro should consistently offer very good to excellent upscaling (still depends on devs who have enough time/resources).
@cinemapigeon4898 therein lies the problem ...I've tested MANY games now on the Pro and a lot of these patches are rather underwhelming. Then there are still a ton of big games that I would've hoped would get patches but don't have one with no word on them coming in the future (Cyberpunk, Black Myth, Space Marine 2, Plague Tale Requiem, Guardians of the Galaxy, ELDEN RING!). RED DEAD 2! Devs never cease to let me down this generation.
Finally someone who used a projector! I'm also qt 120 inches diagonal using an UHD sony so you really see any changes in an image. I'll get one now I think thanks!
That's not true. While you should have a 4K display by now, the biggest selling point is improved performance. Both in flatscreen games such as Metaphor, Rise of Ronin, and every single UE5 game. Remnant II and Lords of the Fallen renders at 768p on the base PS5, while Dragon's Dogma II is unplayable. There are so many games that struggle to get 20-30 FPS on the base PS5. They perform so badly that the frame pacing is abysmal. VRR only works if you get 48 FPS minimums. It's especially useful in PSVR2 games, such as how Vertigo 2 was borderline unplayable, while No Man's Sky and CyubeVR were very blurry.
I really want a PS5 Pro but I can’t in good conscious justify the price. I already have an OG PS5 and all of my games are on discs. Going to wait for the PS6.
I've got 2 huge issues with the Pro so far: #1 Sony is doing a terrible job actually supporting this thing with their own games...there are 8 major Sony owned PS5 exclusives that don't even have Pro patches and none of them are listed as getting one in the future! That's a lot of games to be ignoring on your new $800 (with disc drive and stand) console ...here they are: Returnal (big room for improvement comparing this to PC version), Uncharted 4 Remastered ( same situation as LoU2 remastered before Pro patch, 1440p/60 doesn't look great), Death Stranding Dir Cut, Ghost of Tsushima (this could really use some higher settings like PC has), Sackboy (doesn't need a patch really), Destiny 2 (games are starting to look their age), Silent Hill 2 (it's supposed to have one but it's broken on the Pro- game looks bad now) and of course ....the new Lego Horizon game came out AFTER the Pro and still isn't supported (wtf message does that send?); Astrobot (game could benefit from some better ambient occlusion for a start), and finally Days Gone and God of War 2019 are technically PS4 games still but both have remasters on PC so it would make sense to throw console players a bone and update these. #2 the console is still underpowered evidenced by the fact that many of the Pro enhanced 60fps updates have been done on a games PERFORMANCE MODE rather than their Fidelity Pro modes which retains 30 fps! The console is out 4 years after ps5 and has DOUBLE the CU cores that PS5 has, so why are we only seeing 35% improvement in games? Most likely because its still starved for memory bandwith and clearly, the cost of using PSSR is more expensive than people anticipated...so after applying PSSR there's not much headroom left for other effects- this is evidenced by games like Alan Wake 2 which has a rather disappointing Pro update, havibg to upscale from like 860p resolution and the 30 fps mode still shimmers like crazy and only added RT reflections. Or Spiderman 2 which in its Pro modes at 60 fps actually have worde IQ than Insomniacs prior temporal upscaling, most likely due to having to upscale from a lower res. Then we see games like Rise of the Ronin which even in its Graphics mode which had an unlocked framerate, still runs terribly in the high 30's to low 40 fps range. Why? Because the cost of PSSR. Or even a game like Elden which while its not patched can't lock to 60 fps in performance mode. Now don't get me wrong some of these games on Pro now look great- LoU 1+2, Forbidden West, Jedi Survivor (in 30 fps mode), Spiderman 2 being able to run additional RT features is really cool, Resident Evil 4 now runs with everything maxed at a locked 60 fps ...i'm just a bit bummed out that we're still having to chopse Performance mode in most of these games to get 60...lower settings than Fidelity mode guys which runs contrary to what the entire sales pitch of the console is- getting "near Fidelity mode visuals at 60 fps" that's the case in a few games but it should be ALL or at least MOST games. One more thing- no Cyberpunk 2077, Space Marines 2, and Black Myth Wukong patches is such a bummer. As a console only gamer i was really hoping to finally play Cyberpunk at something resembling PC settings ...Black Myth is a stunning game but desperately needs a patch along with Space Marine. You'd think Sony would've done all they could to get the latest and greatest desired games supported ..who knows maybe they'll come still.
Not to be a total downer there are some games that are transformed on Pro like FF7 Rebirth, others that look insane now like Forbidden West, Last of Us 1+2, Gow Ragnarok, Jedi Survivor (at 30 fps), Stellar Blade, AW2 while disappointing does look better, Lords of the Fallen, Lies of P, Dead Island 2 and Dying Light 2 (both better but not huge differences), Diablo 4, and a few others ...i just am kinda shocked at Sony not supporting all their games for an $800 console...it'd be a shame if they just ignore certain games that would be wayyy better with a Pro patch!
Lotta great points here brotha. I think there coulda been more pro patches too actually now that you mention it. I think perhaps games yet released may benefit the most like Ghost of Yotei and GTA6. We’ll have to wait and see!
I love mine for the exact reason you said in the beginning. Gets me closer to PC graphics and frame rates but I don’t have to deal with the hassle of an actual PC. CoD is my go to and the Pro Enhancements make it look excellent on my 1440p OLED. I took a chance selling my PC and buying this. Thankfully Activision dropped that Pro patch pretty quick. Couldn’t be happier.
@@MinimalisTech Sorry to hear that. It's a AWOL VISION 100" Motorized ALR Floor Rising Projector Screen for Ultra Short Throw projectors. It great but kinda wish I went for the 120" version.
@@Jamic9 OH MAN, I had the 120" of the same one. Think I'm gonna get the same one again but 100. My AWOL 3000 went with it :( cheers brother, happy gaming
You make a really great point. I’m the same way in that I work from home and sit at a desk all day…..picking up a controller and playing a console from my couch is my preference after a long day.
Will a 55inch 4k led samsung tv work for the pro? It has hdr, 60hz and 120 "motion generation" feature I do not own any console and I mostly play on my mac through crossover with a dualsense and I'm looking for something to just sit on the couch and play on a bigger screen. I'm not the kind of person who upgrades right away when something new comes out since I like to stick to what I already have and live with it. I really hope Sony keeps patchint and improving games for the pro
Dude. I have had the exact same feelings as you. I’m a pc gamer with 3080ti/i7-13700kf and just bought my first console (ps5 pro) at 36 years old. I am SO sick of chasing the hardware requirements on pc to maintain decent gameplay. The price of the components and sometimes requires a complete rebuild is disgusting. I just went through re thermal pasting my cpu and gpu, had to get new thermal pads, etc etc took a whole weekend. I get on the pc and get distracted by UA-cam and end up never playing games. When I DO play games like black ops 6 recently I get put into PC lobbies with hackers, mouse and key when I want to play controller. Unoptimized games for pc. IM DONE. I’m getting mad just typing this. Also don’t forget to get that new mouse, that wooting keyboard, those sick headphones. That $800 monitor. All so I can get into hacker lobbies? Or get smoked by shroud in valorant? I can’t enjoy any single player games because I need to be a Harvard engineer to set my graphics settings to make the next new game playable on pc. Also don’t forget to edit the reg file until they release a patch in 3 months. I could go on and on. Software problems, monitors settings, reformats, driver errors, usb port types. Pc not working? Google and get familiar with the inside of your pc. These are things pc players don’t tell you.
Great review! As has been mentioned it’s nice to hear an ‘average gamers’ review as that embodies most of us. Having said that I have a PS5 Digital original, a PS5 Slim digital and I bought the PS5 Pro. I’ve run each of them through the same 4K 144hz Dolby Vision/HDR10 etc tv. I returned the Pro. Was it better than the base? Yes. Was it $430 better than the base? (Canada- $959 plus tax vs $579 Slim) No. I spent more time pixel peeping and staring at it looking for the BIG advantage. For the cost, the Pro is definitely for the enthusiast and the gamer that has to have the latest and greatest. I may revisit down the road if/when the price comes down quite a bit or they cut the price. Just my 2 cents as someone who has the base and spent a week with the Pro.
I love watching reviews about products then having another random one interjected into the review. Well done 👏👏 How ironic, coming from a channel with minimalist in the name.
@dreadedmontana9851 considering no disc drive, I'd say it's still worth the extra $200. It has just over 1TB more storage, access to PSSR (probably the biggest deal), a more powerful GPU (up to 45% more power, but average about 30%), a slight CPU overclock, increased and faster RAM, better WiFi, etc. Future games will get PSSR support, so it'll be the best way to game on a Sony console. Now for those who are still on 1080p LCD displays and even those amongst who probably can't tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps, then the Pro becomes useless to them essentially.
@@frantz4g63 Sounds more logical to spend less on a ps5 and adding a bigger nvme drive or just wait for the ps6, most of the upgrades are incremental than anything else.
I've just downloaded and played my first ever replay game on the pro- Last of Us part II. I have 4K and VRR capability and I just love the exclusive "pro" picture mode. I am very impressed already.
@@theramennoodler7950 PC will never be able to deal with hackers and cheaters the way Sony has been able to. I’m not spending any money to get crapped on by some kid running aimbot and wall hacks
I am not sure who mentioned this from "tech youtubers" but for ps4 - 80% procent was regular, 20% was ps4 pro - or lets call it play station for enthusiasts and or perfectionist or super rich people. I think it's going to be similar for the ps5 era... For me jump from ps4 to ps5 wasnt big of a deal because my older tv had excellent picture processing so even 30fps games looked like 60 fps. Then when I bought ps5 all of them work on 60 fps which is amazing because new 65 inch tv 120 hz has very bad picture processing. So it's not only the console , your tv or monitor is also important. Recently i fulfilled all my childhood dreams and I own every current console and a pc. To be onest xbox series s with game pass ultimate is an amazing thing. Console is 250€, game pass 156€ a year and I can play on a pc and on a console, best thing ever.
It’s funny you mentioned the Xbox series S because that is literally what got me back into console gaming entirely. I use this every single week even still such a great little console W take.
I'm probably gonna skip the PS5 Pro. However, the PS4 Pro was a bigger jump for me back then from the regular PS4 because of the jump to 4K. I really wanted to use it for 4K streaming off of Netflix and whatnot too.
@@MinimalisTech To be honest I don't like occlusion, fog, ultra shadows in games etc. I always prefer to have them off or on lower settings when I play on pc. That would be the main difference between series x and series s. Bump in resolution I don't really see from my couch. If the game is 30 fps I won't play it or I will play it somewhere else ( plague tale requiem for example was one of those). I was thinking to buy series x, but then I remembered that I have only one 2.1 hdmi port and it's occupied with ps5. It was a sign that enough is enough. I don't really like the point of view from first world countries on tech. Let's call it "Ultra". Pc gaming is actually more fun and affordable that people think. Everyone dreams about 4090, but in fact 10040f (113€ new) or 3600( 90€ new) 16gb ram and 4060 can output 90fps on ultra according to hardware unboxed benchmarks. With slight lowering of settings and ai upscaling and frame generation tech it will be even more. Pair it with cheep 100hz monitor. "Download games" from "girl which is fit" and/or Russian torrent forums if you can't afford the games( But then when that moment happens in your lives that you finally can - please support the game makers). I think that games should be benchmarked in 1080p low and 1080p ultra settings. That way both rich and poor countries and everyone else can benefit from the info. Range is what matters. Most people watch reviews because they are thinking ("dreaming") what to buy. There is nothing bad about 1080p 60hz on low settings. Don't dream, do something that your wishes came true!
I love my ps5 pro i am so happy i sold my og ps5 theres a noticeable difference from the base ps5 it looks excellent on my 55inch sony bravia 😊the pro makes everything look extra clean 😊😊
most ppl bashing on the pro have a 3060 or 4060… the pro is equivalent to the 4070 lol. I have a 4090 and a 14700k and i honestly think i enjoy gaming on the ps5/pro on my lg c1 more than my pc. it’s just… more fun. trophy hunting is also so much better than steam achievements
I have a PC with RTX 3080 Ti and 32 Gb RAM. I have the regular PS5 and I buy the PS5 timed exclusives on PC. How would the PS5 Pro compare to the RTX 3080 Ti? Would upgrading from standard PS5 to Pro be a big improvement, or should I just wait for games like Spider-Man 2 to release on PC next year (Jan 2025)?
Your 3080 Ti is definitely more powerful than the PS5 Pro, no doubt about that. I think the upgrade from PS5 to Pro is worth doing IF cost is a non-issue. FSR is not a good upscaler, so if PSSR continues to take priority, then the PS5 Pro increases in value to the user. I believe that's absolutely necessary. Will it outdo a 3080Ti or any high-end PC? Absolutely not, but it's the best Sony console on the planet for at least the next few years, so Playstation exclusives (or timed exclusives) should perform exceptionally on it.
@@frantz4g63 PSSR is not to a good start. It will improve but it will take some time. PS5 pro does not have dedicated hardware to support PSSR so the gpu takes a hit
Slim is still so dope dude. I still use mine almost every day even with the Pro being out. Hope you're enjoying it. Playstation is a W this gen I feel either way.
I ditched PC gaming honestly. I just wanna sit down and play a game. Not screw with settings, not wondering when I gotta upgrade to the next part to get the best of the best. It's just a headache and how I've seen PC die hards act is just ick.
For real, worked with a guy tripping balls for like a week cause he payed 1,200 for a gpu and it was 2 FPS shorter then described on a game and it was mad annoying and it was a 4090 like bro it looks great stop complaining
good point, in the PC space you have to live with a 4/5 year cycle but now most people feel pressured to update on each gpu gen which is crazy. You need to think wisely on your first build so that the next update is just cpu/gpu combo or just GPU but it can be done. If you feel the pressure and urge and that makes you anxious then yes, a console is better
Example. Both me and my sister have launch day PS5’s. I am the console enthusiast and the Pro for me was a day 1 buy. Which I did end up preordering day 1 it went up and received it day 1 launch day. I am very pleased and happy with it. I offered to buy my sister the Pro and upgrade. She has zero interest in it and still does not want it. She’s very happy still with the base PS5. The Pro is for the enthusiast and the brain dead people don’t get that. They just want to complain about price and something they will never buy. It’s great Sony gave us enthusiast a mid gen upgrade if we so please to buy it.
I still feel like most people should wait for the next generation of consoles if they have the current ones like myself. Nevertheless, the PS5 pro is excellent for those that want the greatest thing that’s available.
Some people just need that dopamine rush from purchasing. No matter how small the upgrade is and how big the price. This country needs consumerism at its highest level. The economy relies on it and so does the governmemt.
Get double the storage, cheaper than pc ,better GPU, pssr and hell of great games what else we want I bought mine it's amazing fantastic great machine Don't follow media it's better than ps5 Price yeah but still justified if you buy pc with same specs
The PS5 pro is for those who have the right TV and looks are their priority, it does not change the anything else and I hope that $1,200.00 you spend for a Oled TV is worth it to get the best eye candy possible.
Good point here actually lol. my favourite experience was on my bomb ass OLED Tv setup. But man was thing expensive haha. Can't say this "experience" would be available to everyone
@ Heck yes dude that’s sick. Someone told me to check out the TCL QM8 earlier. Looks really good actually. Think I might actually check it out for gaming etc.
As long as compatibility isn't broken, they can present as many options as they feel like paying to have manufactured. Eh. I'm certainly glad AMD (usually) puts out more than just one or two GPUs per generation.
But I am not a PC gamer. I prefer consoles. I also only buy digital games. A disk drive for me would be a waste. I also wouldn't want a pc in my living room. Nothing against pc gaming. People have different requirements and that's fine. I am just glad we all have several choices based on needs and wants 🎉. Just a thought. 🤔. Cheers 🍻 🎉🎉
I consider the PS5 Pro an 800$ machine. One of the biggest selling points of a console is its disc drive. While currently PC is exclusively digital, it doesn't make any sense to not own a disc drive because the console platform is already limited and disc drive is its best feature that allows you to save money as you can play used physical games or share them with your friends. Now while you still can't build system with specs like Pro for 800$, i would suggest that when you are spending that amount of money already, spend a bit more and built a 1000$ PC with a 5700x3d, a much stronger CPU than Pro that can consistently deliver 60 fps unlike Pro. It provides features as well like Cheaper digital games, emulation, mod support, unlocked framerate and resolution and no charity donation to Sony for multiplayer access lol.
Reviews of consoles are always weird, since the "peak" console period is always going to be years after release. GTA 6, Ghost of Yotei, and other games will be far better PS5 Pro games than games getting small patches to look slightly better (at least that's the hope).
@@theramennoodler7950 Which examples? High framerate modes have proliferated this generation, the number of PS5 games to run only 30 fps is in the literal single digits, I think less than 5 actually. The only issues the ps5 has had I believe is performance modes on games such as Final Fantasy can have lower than ideal resolutions, thus the PS5 Pro with upgraded GPU/upscaling tech benefits greatly.
Frankly, yes, the console is expensive for a console, but it doubles the disk space and even improves games that weren't originally designed to be on the PS5 Pro... We can say it's already doing a good job! For PC gamers, sorry, but the world of components, whether it's graphics cards or processors, keeps getting more expensive! Additionally, the videos flooding the internet with claims like "a PC at the same price as the PS5 Pro does a bit better"... Ok... but you're comparing a turnkey product with one that requires regular maintenance and often waiting for stuttering fixes, etc.... No, I repeat, it's a good console! Expensive for a "console," but good at what it does!
I think the easiest way to break it down for PC elitist is this: People with high end careers and families that cause gaming time to come at a premium, play consoles.
I have a PC and no, I can’t just turn it on from my couch or bed with the press of a controller button. I also can leave any games running on it and expect to wake it up from sleep and just resume my game without your daily windows/ram leak issue causing me to close the game and restart. I also can’t trust my PC to stay in sleep mode without Windows booting it up because of an update in the middle of the night waking me up. I don’t have to deal with Steam, Epic, Rockstar, GOG, EA, Blizzard and any of the 15 other launchers causing additional bloat and system hang because of anti-cheat software in a kernel level. Console has a lot me benefits than you might think by the looks of it.
@@Boyanhristow You’re absolutely right-consoles are especially important for disabled individuals who can’t get up to press a power button. Gotta love that accessibility! And if you’re not disabled, well, to be honest, those sound more like minor inconveniences. If you have to pay $500 for a PS5 or $700 for a PS5 Pro to solve them, may God have mercy on you.
@@Boyanhristowi have a 14700KF/4080S and I can comfortably play at a good comfortable distance on my 65" QD-OLED. I play using a Dualsense Edge and have a wireless MK for easy access that the controller does not have access to. Rest mode is a non-issue and can wake with a click of a key stroke or mouse click. Windows auto updates can be prevented. Booting games on PC takes seconds, so auto resuming a game is also a non-issue unless a few extra seconds matters to you. You can't consider personal cons for PC without considering there are convenient ways around them, and without also considering all the upsides of having a good PC that far exceed the console experience. The only issue I'd say is, to get to the point of having a comfortable PC experience, you need to know a thing or two. So for console, if you're ignorant on all hardware/software stand points, it becomes the only choice of comfort.
@theramennoodler7950 yeah they are minor, and aren't the general user experience, but more personal to himself. PC's can be complex, but the knowledge is everywhere to take so that your experience can easily become better. And yeah? The 4080S is an amazing GPU. Takes pretty much anything you throw at it.
I’m tired of this “is it worth it” narrative The Ps5 Pro true value will show in all games coming in 2025 and beyond Not from games that already have been out and even those games have an update so it’s a W regardless
Have you not played any UE5 games on the PS5? They run so poorly, with terrible frame pacing, and at such low resolutions. Many of them have framerates so bad that they're borderline unplayable, or render at 768p with dynamic upscaling to 1080p. The Pro fixed that. Both this and PSVR2 is where the Pro really shines. The Pro is a VR gaming machine.
U complainers are killing the gaming industry we will have nothing in the future.become a game developer and produce a game that everyone likes Anyway great videos keep it up
gaming consoles are built for one thing and one thing only gaming nothing else for a $1,200 the price of a 4090 one can get a PS5 or PS5 Pro for gaming and a laptop for surfing the web and YT and what not
So let me get this straight. You spend 14 hours sitting at a desktop. Then you relax playing on a couch PS5 or PS5 pro. Mate, you need to get out and do some exercise. Hell, just go for a walk instead of further screen time.
Aside from owning a high end computer and building computers since 1998, I love any video game systems. All do something better, so I own all. I returned the pro, it;s awesome, but went back to my base ps5. I don't see the value in the pro yet, especially no disc drive included or a disc drive to buy at msrp, and charging for a vert stand. Lame move by Sony.
The real problem I have is not just that the PS5 pro has no Disc Drive, the problem I have is that Sony pretends that Physical games is a luxury, which it is not because since the beginning home consoles, home consoles always had the ability to play physical games but now you have to pay extra to do that. And it gets worse when it comes to the fact that digital games are now licenses and you no longer own the games YOU PAID FOR!!!!!!
But hasn't the digital games trend has already been a PC thing for so long? So consoles are technically just catching up.. It would suck, but with the way things are going, physical game copies will eventually be phased out.
@chadmendiola9833 That does not change the fact that this is an anti consumer practices. Although Nintendo often does anti-consumer practices with its lawsuits and emulators, at least Nintendo knows that people love physical games. The Switch 2 is probably not going to have a digital only version because it is a handheld so a disc drive is not an option, instead they are probably going to have a Switch 2 OLED as a luxury option and a Switch 2 Lite as the cheaper option just like the original Switch which is just much better for us consumers
As a PC owner, nothing is more pitiful to me than PC dudes bashing the PS5 Pro,
#1 we do not use disk drives in most PC these days to play games.
Aight, pinning this dog.
@@MinimalisTech must accept the points of view of others, and stay calm lmao
Thank you for the words. To me gaming is gaming. As along as it's a good time I'm happy.

The argument of consoles to compete with pc’s is such a moot point. I love how you approached the fact they’re both incredible for their own situations. I’ve got all and play all. Love gaming period.
thank you
most of the ones competing or compairing console to PCs are PC gamers
Them you need to factor in if you want to buy a good monitor (existing pc gamers will already have one most likely, but for me, it would have meant buying an oled monitor that cost almost as much as pro, if I didn't want to end up with inferior image quality than my existing TV) and keyboard and mouse (or at least a game pad to play games and a cheap mouse and kb to get around your pc (you could use steam os if you really wanted, but we all know that has limitations)
There's always grey areas that people kinda just ignore when making argument for pc Vs console ( it works both ways in reality)
great points here dude! my 690 lasted aaaaaaggges when I built that one out too haha.
I find myself getting distracted on my pc a lot and sometimes even forget what I wanted to play.
nice video men, i agree with you, i spend most of my time on a pc for work, so in my free time i go to my ps5 and forget about all the stuff that still need to be done on the pc,

This man this!
Just plug in in your tv lol im using my pc for 2 months now with my tv and its amazing true 4k,120 fps, mods and ultra settings from the couch

It’s impressive how good your projector looked. Didn’t know they could come out that well.
I thought the base ps5 ran games at 4k natively at 60fps
@@CC42_ Yeah, I think the best PS5 Pro use cases are games yet to be released. All these current games with resolution bumps are not too impressive.
I think 3 months from now, things will improve with the ps5 pro,a year from now a lot of people who arent sure, now will probably own one.
Finally someone who used a projector! I'm also qt 120 inches diagonal using an UHD sony so you really see any changes in an image. I'll get one now I think thanks!
The truth is anyone who doesnt have a 4k tv 120hz or 4k monitor. Does not need this.. most casual wont see a difference
It's especially useful in PSVR2 games, such as how Vertigo 2 was borderline unplayable, while No Man's Sky and CyubeVR were very blurry.
you're right! have the right compatiblity TV IS KEY'
I play on a 1440p 27inch and games look and feel smoother.
Not true at all
I really want a PS5 Pro but I can’t in good conscious justify the price.

I remember reading somewhere that black myth will not get a pro patch still due to hardware limitations.
I love the haptic feedback too
I love mine for the exact reason you said in the beginning. Gets me closer to PC graphics and frame rates but I don’t have to deal with the hassle of an actual PC.

I have a gaming laptop, but still considering on a ps5 pro. Console has this feel that pc cannot offer. I still have ps3 and ps4. 👌🏼
That's called lagging in games...you can't really feel that on pc
I love watching reviews about products then having another random one interjected into the review. Well done 👏👏
How ironic, coming from a channel with minimalist in the name.
Love the review, currently debating this purchase. I have a 4070ti pc, but i also started a desk job so sitting at the desk ain’t as fun anymore.
I say stick with the pc, since the ps5 pro is more equivalent to a 3060-3070, your gpu alone will be most likely on par with the ps6.
Just stick with the pc, the ps5pro is a 3060ti which will be 50-60% slower than a 4070ti, that's big difference
How is OW on the Pro compared to the usual PS5? Any difference?
What do think about the PS5 Pro? Is it worth the bump in price tag??
If you look at the tech inside the pro it’s worth 200 more bucks
@ well said and great point I agree with you brother happy gaming
@dreadedmontana9851 thanks man, and same to you 👍🏽

Dualsense expirience is what You are missing ,than You have edge pad thats another one.

I have a PC with RTX 3080 Ti and 32 Gb RAM. I have the regular PS5 and I buy the PS5 timed exclusives on PC. How would the PS5 Pro compare to the RTX 3080 Ti? Would upgrading from standard PS5 to Pro be a big improvement, or should I just wait for games like Spider-Man 2 to release on PC next year
(Jan 2025)?
PS5 pro does not have dedicated hardware to support PSSR so the gpu takes a hit

good point, in the PC space you have to live with a 4/5 year cycle but now most people feel pressured to update on each gpu gen which is crazy. You need to think wisely on your first build so that the next update is just cpu/gpu combo or just GPU but it can be done. If you feel the pressure and urge and that makes you anxious then yes, a console is better

I’m just disappointed with the CPU of the PS5 Pro. I really wish they would have upgraded it to improve fps. That would’ve justified the cost more.

Competitive games for me on PC but single player I get for console (if they offer 60 fps)
Absolutely ruining someone else’s day had me dying 😂😂
Reviews of consoles are always weird, since the "peak" console period is always going to be years after release. GTA 6, Ghost of Yotei, and other games will be far better PS5 Pro games than games getting small patches to look slightly better (at least that's the hope).
Idk man, ps5 and ps5 pro struggle to run demanding games today, I doubt it’ll get better in the future.
Plug sold me one for $450
I have a decent PC, but I will buy a PRO too, hope that's still allowed in 2024!! 🤣🤣
Do you play Battlefield
I haven't played BF since BF3 I think. What's the best one right now? I miss it so much.
@@MinimalisTech download BF1 last great BF game imo.
PlayStation 5 pro does not come with a duel sense edge controller
Ghost of Tsushima isn't PS5 Pro enhanced.
Both 24 and 12 nah homie re think that's statement
GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTT
If you have a PC, it supposed to be easy to turn on fast and just start playing immediately!!! Why is that an excuse for playing on a console???🤷🏾
@@frantz4g63 Fr most of his gripes sounds more like a minor inconveniences, and nice gpu, my pops got me the ichill black version for getting all As.
I’m tired of this “is it worth it” narrative
The Ps5 Pro true value will show in all games coming in 2025 and beyond
Not from games that already have been out and even those games have an update so it’s a W regardless
Most thing I’m hype for is GTA 6 and ghost of Yotei. Gonna be wild
@@mmstickIt’s insane that the ps5 could barely hit 4k 60fps, so 4 years later the ps5 pro comes out, and it still struggles to hit 4k 60fps.
Can’t wait foe consoles to hit 220hz bare minimum
Saaaamee dude. I can only hope. I don’t think they ever would unless TVs start getting up there.
@ nah fax rlly hoping so… if not ima hook dat trusty monitor up💯💯
I don't know if this is a review or just saying i love my ps5 pro. Bruh just call it ps5 pro impressions or something.
U mad?
80 usd a year for online, thats what really truly makes me not want a ps5
U complainers are killing the gaming industry we will have nothing in the future.become a game developer and produce a game that everyone likes
Anyway great videos keep it up
gaming consoles are built for one thing and one thing only gaming nothing else for a $1,200 the price of a 4090 one can get a PS5 or PS5 Pro for gaming and a laptop for surfing the web and YT and what not
So let me get this straight.
You spend 14 hours sitting at a desktop.
Then you relax playing on a couch PS5 or PS5 pro.
Mate, you need to get out and do some exercise. Hell, just go for a walk instead of further screen time.
I do! Powerlifting 3 times a week and two days walking. 💪
Playstation ps5pro
I returned mine 3 days after I got it wasn't worth it at all.
haha them return policies are actually useful! I dig it
I’m done with pc gaming . It’s more like a habbie than gaming itself
Just buy a PC.
Great video thanks
That’s right 😊
Шумит ли прошка....и есть визг катушек
Dude is so close to the camera it's offensive to my tvs 4k lol bro why so close...is this a satire video? I think hes trolling us
Ive only seen one UA-camr test their $700 PC build against the PS5 Pro and beat it in all categories.
I'm an enthusiast and I still don't want it, not at that price with no disc drive.
Other than Nintendo, consoles make no sense at this point when a pc can do everything, and exclusivity is a thing of the past.
