Ya the X still has major issues with halfshafts/ rear inner tire wear/ and water getting in when u open the falcon doors when it’s raining. Other than that the x is great. There is a aftermarket fix available but it will cost u around 5k. That’s why I sold my x
Literally the only problem with this is that the Plaid is probably a blast to drive but the car drives itself. Cant do both at the same time so you have to pick one of the other lol.
15:32 To be honest I noticed yesterday driving a 2021 Model X Long Range Plus that the regen braking was not as good as in my MY. I had to actually use the brake. Is that normal to Model X in general let alone the Plaid?
16:50 so my dad drive model y and we get to a 150 without even noticed that and if we were at 200 we can't tell it cause its just fast without doing nothing and feeling it like other cars
Correction, the price difference between X Long range and a Plaid is huge. Right now LR is 70 k with discount and with tax credit of 7500 USD X plaid is 92k and no discounts or tax credit.
BMW iX or a porsche suv at this price. Anyday. This looks like a mini van and the rivian looks like a bug. When getting a suv luxury and tech should be the most important
Bad design of turn signals. Try pressing one when you are on a large roundabout or a long curve, Impossible to do it safely. Bring back the stalk - it's way safer.
I dont think you mentioned it but how does the round steering wheel feels like? Does it block the view of the screen or is it ok? Yoke is questionable but visibility was sick, with the round one, I would like to know if you can still see everything on the driver screen
I did mention it but I guess didn't make the cut, you can tell that the new X and S were designed with the Yolk in mind. It does block the display which sucks because I wish I could see it, sure you can move the steering wheel up more but then for me it becomes uncomfortable.
I Got the long range x... to be honest it's also insane speed Wise(I drive in insane mode) use the drag mode and you get 3.2 0-60 I couldn't see the need for the extra power that I rarely ever use, also the 5% range drop on the plaid isn't a huge deal but is something... they jacked up the plaid price by 5k the day before I ordered otherwise I would've just done that though... couldn't see spending 10k extra on it
Agreed, the Long rage is plenty fast but for me at the time of purchase it was only a $4,000 difference between long range and Plaid so paying $4,000 for a boost increase + better brakes and carbon fiber interior felt like a no brainer.
Who cares about speed in a mini van. U buy cars like this to have luxury and tech. BMW, Mercedes, and porsche are all far better options. Trust me plenty fast enouhj
The problem is, after two years, the value will drop 50%. Tesla owners are in over their heads and are defaulting on their car payments. Values will only plummet further.
Clearly this video is not for lower class individuals who don't make 500k a year, I'm looking for a Tesla Model X 2016 through 2018, if it's worth it to have in 2024, and pricing is usually around $20,000 to $30,000 which I can handle

@@mondobytes Timing is everything. @@richardcoughlin8931 It's hard to predict when to buy a Tesla because their pricing is so erratic. I didn't even have plans to sell my Y but when the X dropped to $20,000+ and I was also able to transfer my FSD I felt it was a no brainer, happy I was able to upgrade and didn't lose much on the Y making the X purchase a sweet deal.

I agree 100% with going to the plaid compared to the long range with 6 seat config upgrade. Did the same and traded my model 3 and transferred fsd. Love the falcon wing doors - game change in getting the kiddo in and out. Third row is so much easier to get in and out with the 6 seat configuration compared to our other 7 seater model Y. The Y is a bit more fun to drive in the city when I’m alone and not launching the car compared to the bigger X.
I love my M3 and these videos but I was at work when I heard this co- worker said he was an engineer telling another co-worker Tesla motherboards would have to be replaced every 8 years because the software cant be overwritten but so many times. Now I've heard somewhere the S and X had that at the start but do anyone know is this true for the newer models? Also Ben more videos with you and someone is great.
Memory does have finite write endurance but... 8 years? That's way too short. There are Model S on the road from 2013 and this isn't an issue. Memory chip tech has only gotten better since.
The performance is totally different after being in both but with that being said the LR is already so fast.... Really depends on how you will drive it. The plaid makes the LR seems slow haha. If you buy a LR don't ever ride in a plaid.....
The difference isn't $22k it's $8,500. This is exactly what I said in my video, when I added the 6 seat configuration to LR model the price difference (when I bought it) was about $4,000. Since then the price has increased a bit and it's now $8,500. But even at $8,500 it's worth getting the Plaid over the LR because not only is it wayy faster, you're getting better brakes (Red calipers are cool too) and carbon fiber interior.
@@RT-zg9qi You're comparing Apples to Oranges though. The Model X LR doesn't come standard with a 6 seat configuration the Plaid does. This is exactly the scenario that I was in, I didn't care about owning a Plaid I was fine with LR model. However, we needed a 6 seat configuration because I have 3 kids so that bumped the price up by $6,500. When I bought my Plaid X at the time the difference was $4,000 between LR with 6 seat configuration and Plaid. It was a no brainer choosing the Plaid, $4,000 meant I got a much faster car, better brakes and carbon interior. This is why I say the true difference is $8,500 because of the 6 seat configuration difference which IMO is the best configuration you can get on the X. Sure if you don't need or want that configuration you can save more money but everyone I've talked too or people that own an X go for the 6 seat which at that point it's honestly best to just get the Plaid which IS WORTH IT.
i actually think the 6 seat is the worst. The second row seats don't fold and there are no arm rests which make the seats very uncomfortable. Not worth it at all if you can get the 7500 tax credit on the LR. Sorry but the 1.3 sec 0-60, slightly better brakes and carbon interior is not worth 23k.
EVs work for me on long road trips. I’d like to blame my kids for frequent bathroom breaks but it’s really me that needs the stops. 🤦♂️ Getting old can be rough.

Ya the X still has major issues with halfshafts/ rear inner tire wear/ and water getting in when u open the falcon doors when it’s raining. Other than that the x is great. There is a aftermarket fix available but it will cost u around 5k. That’s why I sold my x
Weren’t these issues addressed on the 2021 redesign?
No it still exists according to the service centre and the forums
Literally the only problem with this is that the Plaid is probably a blast to drive but the car drives itself. Cant do both at the same time so you have to pick one of the other lol.
Those wheels are incredible
Why does your fog lights looks different, it looks like the old models lights.
Hi, Can you tell me the name of baby seat?
I think he was saying if you did the 6 seater configuration
Torn between the Model X that I've been wanting for about 4 years or the R1S. Decisions Decisions.
After driving both I'm glad I got the X, no regrets!
BMW iX or a porsche suv at this price. Anyday. This looks like a mini van and the rivian looks like a bug. When getting a suv luxury and tech should be the most important
getting rid of the ultrasonic censors was stupid. cameras dont have depth perception.
very nice wheels and I don't usually like aftermarket wheels on teslas
Where did you get the fog light and bumper lip trims?
Was wondering the same thing. Looks amazing! Would like to do the same to my 2024.
Great content Tesla rules ❤❤
Bad design of turn signals. Try pressing one when you are on a large roundabout or a long curve, Impossible to do it safely. Bring back the stalk - it's way safer.
Elmo doesn't care what you want.
2024 X gets a new steering wheel with a real horn button in the middle. Finally!
@@mini2nut67 Where did you get that info?
I would try different brake pads to get a better feeling
I want one soooo bad, hopefully if they ever offer a FSD transfer again.. Ill be ready!
Yeah 100% agree. Wish I didn't miss that cheaper price boat, but also no regrets on my end. Glad you got the best deal!
Who cares about speed in a mini van. U buy cars like this to have luxury and tech. BMW, Mercedes, and porsche are all far better options. Trust me plenty fast enouhj
is this car wrapped with matte PPF and blacken the head lights ?
Yep
Like this car a lot.
The problem is, after two years, the value will drop 50%. Tesla owners are in over their heads and are defaulting on their car payments. Values will only plummet further.
The Tesla Souffle' is falling.
@@DrRussPhd True. Those damn delicate soufflés!
why isn't the supercharger stations solar powered and free for Tesla consumers?
Clearly this video is not for lower class individuals who don't make 500k a year, I'm looking for a Tesla Model X 2016 through 2018, if it's worth it to have in 2024, and pricing is usually around $20,000 to $30,000 which I can handle
Got the new 2023X plaid no summon feature yet!? my buddy got one as well, but his has it
9:50 many campsites are putting up signs that youre not allowed to charge your EV
Well then I hope you can't plug your RV in either
Great video
Any cabin road noise when driving?
With the new wheels yes but when I had the 20's it was dead silent.
Do Brembo sells carbon ceramics for this Model X Plaid?
Unplugged performance does
I think Armando meant the chargers in Gila Bend. 🤔
Buying the dip is nothing compared to the depreciation loss.
Why focus on cost? Joyful living means being effective first and efficient second.
All cars depreciate I had a Performance Model Y also bought at the right time and almost lost nothing. Compared to all the vehicles I’ve owned the Y was the vehicle I took the least hit. Also Model X Plaid already went up in price since I bought it 😉
@@mondobytes Timing is everything. I bought a Model Y in March 2023 and I’ve seen it depreciate more than 20% due to price reductions and what appears to be overproduction in the last quarter of the year so that Elon could make delivery numbers for Wall Street. I like the car but I regret not leasing instead of buying.
@@richardcoughlin8931 It's hard to predict when to buy a Tesla because their pricing is so erratic. Leasing is not a bad thing because these cars are constantly improving and battery technology is getting better. I've always wanted an X but for me paying $100,000+ wasn't worth it. I loved the Y because it's a great car and doesn't break the bank hence why they're the #1 selling Tesla vehicle right now.
I didn't even have plans to sell my Y but when the X dropped to $20,000+ and I was also able to transfer my FSD I felt it was a no brainer, happy I was able to upgrade and didn't lose much on the Y making the X purchase a sweet deal.
@@mondobytessaying all cars depreciate is disingenuous no cars depreciate like EVs and teslas. My uncle bought a model y performace brand new for 87k and sold it for 38k.. the model s plaid was 140k brand new just last year some paid 160k and now its 60k used and 89k brand new... IN ONE YEAR
I don't think the Plaid is worth it but at 80k the dual motor definitely is
Tesla always routes you to the SuperChargers at Carl's Jr. in Quartzsite...DON'T GO THERE!!! Go behind the Terrible's convienience store across the street. Tesla will never route you there, but it is on the map.
@@JetFire9 - - Hassles? I'm pointing out a better location around the corner from the Carl's Jr. Cleaner facilities, convienience store, dog run..... The one by Carl's Jr is not 'the best'. Good luck to you
i love this car, i just started learning to trade stocks, I will buy a tesla model x one day with my profits
Hopefully HW4 improved FSD on the Y I just ordered...
I love model X 🎉
I love my M3 and these videos but I was at work when I heard this co- worker said he was an engineer telling another co-worker Tesla motherboards would have to be replaced every 8 years because the software cant be overwritten but so many times. Now I've heard somewhere the S and X had that at the start but do anyone know is this true for the newer models? Also Ben more videos with you and someone is great.
Memory does have finite write endurance but... 8 years? That's way too short. There are Model S on the road from 2013 and this isn't an issue. Memory chip tech has only gotten better since.
What brand are those Mud flaps on the Model X?
The 0-60 in Mylr gets worse after 80%? I don’t really notice any hit to acceleration until like 50%
He didn’t mean charge 80%. He meant when you get to 80mph and punch it it doesn’t have the same go acceleration.
@@famousamos1 oh def for sure. It drops off super quickly after 80 mph. The few times I punched it above 80 I am like wtf is this my ice car 🤣
@@bitcoinman9202Lol I bought a 2023 MYP in September and yes the same punch after 80mph isn’t as fast as under 50mph. 😮 it’s like come on!! 🤣
@@famousamos1 ya luckily the punch is very hard 20-60 mph !
Where did he get the mud flaps for the new X
“All organic electricity”🤣🤣
Guys I’m between this and a model S help me choose please
Now I am jealous lol good review but Canadian prices for x is over 100k
The real question is the Model X Plaid worth the extra 22k over the LR?
Base model X LR with no options is 79,900 minus $7500 is 71900. so it is acutally 23,500 difference. To me that is not worth it at all.
80k$ yes - 120k$ no for this car.... the loss of value on 2-3 years old used ones must be crazy.
EVs work for me on long road trips. I’d like to blame my kids for frequent bathroom breaks but it’s really me that needs the stops. 🤦♂️ Getting old can be rough.
Pretty obvious Tailosive is either paid by Aptera or a stockholder
Another banger video. Also just wanted 2 throw out I have same sneakers it 3 different colors lol

where is that place look like heaven?
3 seconds in: absolutely. X is faberge but its excellent at it
If you had $80+k to burn would you buy a X or cybertruck?
lol burn I dunno it’s super expensive in Canada
Neither
My answer as a model X owner and driver?
Yes.
Still waiting for the falcon doors all the way around.
the year of the Model X
We have an X LR test drive scheduled for this afternoon. Entertaining moving up from our 21 Model Y LR.
FSD is Awesome !! upper 90s rating score here!! If you cant drive a car and then complain about FSD then you shouldnt be on the road to begin with !!
I just wish the third row had more leg room
From the VIN number, it’s 2023 Model and not 2024 as in the title!
