My favourite car reviewer. Your videos are top notch. I quite like the Grandland, not sure about that colour but think Vauxhall have some nice cars at the moment. Sad about the Luton factory closing though.
I love this updated version the overall look is 👌🏻 although I'm still not convinced switching to full EV however this metallic copper paint with black trim would be my personal choice.
Interesting car, great review. Reducing wheel size from 20” to 19” would soften the ride somewhat while improving driving range a tad. Vauxhall appear to be doing a lot of this right.
Not a bad looking car but sadly it's fate is already sealed vauxhall massively discounting the corsa mokka and astra save ya cash. Reviewer is top notch
As you may have seen the U.K. headlines and on TV 27/11/24 that EV sales are only at 18% for the first 10 months of 2024, they have stalled all over the EU, VW and Ford going to shut plants, so can we the buying public have some reviews on the other 80% of car ICE sales that the vast majority buy? Although most are companies, thanks.
The 22% mandate is an average across the industry, not a hard target - Toyota only have a 12% ZEV target, for example! 2 of the 3 proposed VW factory closures are actually ICE factories! Let's not let the facts get in the way, eh?!
@ Well I’ve read very clearly each manufacture must sell 22% of EV’s out of the total sales, if not every petrol/diesel will attract £15K on each one sold !!! In the U.K., That is what all the fuss is about, why so many are talking about closing or moving production away from the U.K., including Nissan at Sunderland.
You may have "read clearly", but did you think to read the actual policy itself?! If you had bothered you'd had seen that OEMs can lower their mandate target through CO² credits for selling low emission vehicles (full hybrids and plug in hybrids). This is why Toyota's target is so low....
@@bryanduncan6178 The Government's proposed Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Mandate has become law - which will eventually force all car and van makers to only sell emission-free vehicles by 2035. The switch to electric-vehicle-only new car sales will be enforced incrementally over the next 11 years, starting with a legal requirement for 22% of new cars sold to be pure electric this year. In spite of the 2023 Government announcement that the ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars would be pushed back from 2030 to 2035, the rules mean the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) should ramp up this year, and will continue until the full ban comes into place. The ZEV mandate requires that 28% of new car sales are EVs in 2025, 52% are EVs in 2028 and 80% are pure electric in 2030. Then, by 2035, 100% of new vehicles sold must be emission-free. Read more: Best electric cars Any car makers that aren’t able to meet these quotas could face a fine of £15,000 per car sold that isn’t compliant. At present, EVs only account for 16% of new car sales, and for some brands their electric car sales are as little as 3% of their overall annual figure. This has given rise to speculation that there will be further heavy discounting of EVs as car makers scramble to meet the target for the year.
Do Britain have to ask for help from the E .u we left in 2018 a full two years now it's costing over £40 '000 pounds to buy the pricey must come down and more charge points must Be in place before I get one e.v on the road.
after buying a Corsa E from new, i wouldn't buy another brand new EV, depreciation is ridiculous to the point my car is now worth a 1/3 of it's value at 3 years old! no more PCP for me i'm afraid or new EV's i also lost interest in this when you said 0 to 60 in 9 seconds! that's rubbish compared to the competitors
Just so you know where I'm coming from; I drive an 11yr old plugin Prius. I have no idea about its 0-60 time. But in which practical situation would a 9-second 0-60 time actually be a problem?
@SolarWebsite I live near a dual carriageway which has T junctions onto it, I'd like to get up to 70mph before someone slams into the back of me. 0 to 60 of 9 seconds or more would have me sitting there for ages waiting for a decent gap
The depreciation of EVs is something dealers and manufacturers don’t want to talk about. When buying a used car, the normal ‘what’s the milage’ question, is now, ‘how long has that battery got to go’ ? Chinese manufacturers are throwing thousands of electric cars onto the world market. Nobody knows how these cars will stand up to regular day to day motoring. What is the quality of parts like ? What’s the expected lifespan of the electric motor/ motors ? Are spare parts readily available ? It seems not. I’m sticking to petrol till more facts about electric cars durability is known.
What are you on about?! The majority of EVs come with an 8 year warranty on the batteries and the motor/invertor has less moving parts than an engine. The majority of ICE manufacturers offer a 3 year warranty on an engine, yet you're happy to own a car out of warranty?! There has been delays getting some battery parts for VAG models as they were made in the Ukraine - there's been a small disagreement going on with Russia....
Good looking car but after recent events how long before Stellantis kill off Vauxhall and Ellesmere Port. Lancia and Alfa might get th chop , Chrysler and Jeep might go too. sales are 25% down in Europe and 30% in the US. Too much badge engineering and pricing all wrong.
@ well I don’t trust Stellantis they are in big trouble and I think brands will be axed. Vauxhall have 4.5% of the uk market that’s it. Opel have the complete European market, at the end of the day they are Peugeots. Love Vauxhall but think their best days are behind them.
It is high time Opel rebrands their cars in UK, isn't it? I hate to see this car manufacturer go down again... they start making some steps forward (like changing the mother company) but never finish their job completely. They make good cars but totally fail in employer branding and marketing.
Road tax coming for electric vehicles in 2025 will put a lot of people off buying a car over £40,000. Just one penny over and you pay an extra £300 + on top of the usual road tax for the first five years of ownership. A total rip off. Road tax for electric vehicles in the UK starts on 1st April 2025 - April fool, and no wonder sales are struggling.
@@bryanduncan6178 dont need to one full tank will get me 900 plus miles you clearly dont charge your car on public chargers then still my mondeo wont cost me a fortune in depreciation the value is actually increasing month on month even with 130 000 miles on her

Good Review!👍 The long range version is really interesting. You are really good and have a comfort voice to listen to👍 Thanks from Sweden. 🇸🇪
