  • Finally made it to the dyno after a few months of dialing in the street tune! First pull off the street did 711rwhp and 550ft.lb torque in 4th, then about 9 pulls later we did 778rwhp and 498ft.lb torque in 3rd at 9200 rpms. Had they dyno tach held out to the 10,000 RPMS that we took the car to each pull OR had we made the 36.5 PSI pull in 4th I think we'd have seen the 800rwhp number at 36.5 PSI.
    Ultimately, we stopped at the 778hp/498t2 at 36.5 PSI as the fuel system was at its limit and I believe we had maxed out the capability of the factory UIM since a pull at 38 PSI made less than the 36.5 PSI. Log data showed the battery voltage dropping from 13.7V to about 12.9V from 7000-9000 rpms which corresponds directly with the fuel pressure drop I was seeing in the same region which drove the injector duty cycle to the max to cover the fueling needs.
    I think the engine itself is capable of holding 40-45 PSI, but to get there I'd need to upgrade the UIM, add a few more injectors and either upgrade to a big single brushless pump or upgrade the alternator to help hold the power to the twin 044s up top. Either way, I'm extremely happy with the 778rwhp @ 36.5 PSI and the car is beyond stupid fast on the street at this level. Thanks for watching!

      Thanks! And yes, I'm located in Canton GA just down the road from Countersteer, however I sold the car last week and it is on to a new owner. That being said, I still love rotary stuff and would be glad to meet the rotary locals around Atlanta and help tune anything that needs some work!

    Epic car mate. I'd love to know more about it and have a thousand questions.
    What size intercooler are you running and what radiator? Any issues with ECT's from not running a Vmount setup? How do you get good airflow to the radiator?
    How many and what size injectors were on the car in this setup? and what LIM were you using?
    What box and diff were you using to make this sort of power? What stud kit was used to keep the block together?
    Did you end up upgrading the alternator?

      The intercooler was one of the old apexi GT front mounts with a 5" core, had no issues with coolant temps using a koyo N-flow and electric water pump to control cooling, ran at 185F all the time and never got hotter. Had 6X ID2000s, run in 3 stages, 2 in the block were 1st stage two on the outside of the LIM rail were second stage, and 2 inner ones on that rail were stage 3. LIM was an xcessive manufacturing that was modified for semi ports and cosmo side ports. Had factory diff casing with HHP brace/cradle and a kaaz 1.5 way diff inside. Used factory engine bolts, but had 2 additional solid dowels added to prevent twisting. Did not upgrade alternator.

      @@sethallen5308 Thanks for the response mate, really appreciate it. Running a tertiary injector setup seems abit insane, what ECU are you running? Doesn't ignition normally start breaking up at those power levels? What Ignition setup are you running? is there an ignition booster like the older HKS twin power or the Microtech x4? How have the axels held up with that power?

      @@ImEasyAs 3 stage injection isn't really too crazy at these power levels and it makes things way smoother than trying to bring on 4 large injectors at one time. I was on a haltech elite 2500 at the time. And yes, even the IGN1A coils with hot dwell will start falling off past 600hp. I was running a M&W CDI box and 4 big MSD coils. Past 600 you are going to need a CDI type ignition. I don't recommend the twin power for any level as I had one catch on fire, just go IGN1A if under 600 and CDI if going beyond. And my axles held up find, but I did trash a diff and after I beefed that up moved on to ripping all the teeth of 3rd on several transmissions. I suspect with hard launching the axles would have eventually let go.

      The battery voltage was starting to drop at about 7500 rpms and by 9000 was down to about 12.75V which was reducing the power to the pumps and causing the fuel pressure to drop off which was covered through higher injector duty cycle being used. During the 36.5 PSI pull, we were using 99% of stage 1 and stage 2 and over 90% of stage 3. While 4th gear would have made more power given the 1:1 gear in the trans, it is a heavier load and would have needed more fuel that I didn't have at the time.

      @@bm717252 fuel pumps were 044s, staged so that pump 2 came on around 10psi, wires through relays that go to a big power distrobution block to the battery. Would have to be an alternator change to fix.

      The car is still on the factory FD transmission with just an aftermarket support brace and goopy scattershield all behind an exedy twin disc clutch.

      I'm honestly not sure who did the peripherals on the housings in this engine, the word was that CLR motorsports did the work, but I can't say for sure.

    Countersteer are some good people. I bet the mpg at that level is dog crap. Some nice numbers though. Every now and then I'm up that way with my R1. See more FDs on youtube from GA than ever on the road.
