Awesome video! and awesome owner! Roy taught me a lot about what i was doing wrong with my 3 rotor drag setup. So nice to see how "tame" a 4 rotor can be with modern technology, then open up and kick ass
@@chrisguillen1495 Lol. You must be young as hell. The forefather of 4rotor engines is Rick Engman. Rick along with Jim Downing from Downing Atlanta built and raced some of the most dominant 3 and 4 rotor engines in IMSA and SCCA. He also built engines for the 767B and 787B race car. The 787B is the only Japanese car to ever win Lemans. Rick is the single reason why the rotary engine even lasted in the states when the early Rx 100, R,x2,3,4. Agreed. I understand going widebody/bodykit on certain cars, because they're ugly or boring stock. But the rx7 doesn't need any of that. It's a beautiful car completely stock. Wheels, coilovers, maybe a front splitter are the only changes you need to make to make it look incredible and aggressive. I will never understand why people change the exterior of this car so often. It's literally one of the nicest designs from that era.
@@Thelittleone412 no one said w/b are bad... Just it's important to have stock cars too ^^ How will we able to remember how the RX7 was if everyone put a kit on it :)
Hands down the most "streetable" 4 rotor I've seen. Every 4 rotor I seen before is more track built and struggles to drive on the streets but this one is smooth on the street even with over 1000hp. Well done
So simple, yet so complicated at the same time. One of my favorite featured builds to date! Owner is super knowledgeable as well. Wouldn't mind seeing some of his other RX7 builds. :)
I love seeing this. This was how I wanted my FD RX7 to be before a shop stole all my rotors and eccentric shaft. Only thing I would add to this would be a Master Shifter paddle setup with a electronic bump shifter. Everything else is perfect. MAN! Some day I will get mine up and running! I swear!
NOBODY would ever think that this thing has more HP then a Bugatti Veyron! I love it! Perfect sleeper! And i have never seen a white one before! One of the best cars ever!
Such a chill bunch of guys for such a wild car, I love it! Beadlocks aside, you'd never know it was such a monster from the outside (assuming it's not turned on lol)
My uncle had an RX7 and I fell in love with the car when I went on my first ride in it. He wanted me to drive it, but I knew it was boosted and I wasn't experienced enough to handle it. When I felt that I can handle the car, he goes and sells the car before I get another opportunity. It broke my heart the day he sold the RX7.
The car was indeed totaled, as for roy is in urgent care and my prays are with him and his family!, I work with the man he’s a strong dude hoping the best for him.
@babycartier1 I disagree. I've seen both cars in person. The Tokyo Drift car is a full-on custom with a ton of fiberglass and bonds. This car looks like a clean, understated factory prototype. It looks like it's straight from Mazspeed skunkworks division. It's a shame the owner passed away. I believe that this car was totalled in an accident
It's pretty amazing how fans have kept rotaries alive. I mean, Mazda would have likely not continued if the fans hadn't kept making them think of new ideas, ya know? I think this is why we shouldn't fear the electric future. Fans will make that good, but also, I think we're always going to have combustion engines, they are too useful, and we can create synthetic fuels to allow them to exist for 1000 years or more (if we make it)
Love how stock you kept the inside and out, very much my style. That transmission looks like a bit of a frankenstein. Nobody makes a drop in sequential trans for an FD? I forget what Rob is running in his 4 rotor, but I think it's a bit streamlined. Nonetheless, beautiful build and sounds insane!
Only 15 pounds of boost to make that much power. Why such a big turbo? Thing is a monster and looks/sounds so good. A dream car for sure. I'd rather daily this than a lambo any day.
That one mean looking fd! I would love to see an fc 4rotor but idk if they bay is too small for one. There is a 4rotor Eunos Cosmo on this website somewhere but I havn't seen many videos on it lately
I'd definitely take this over any other known 4 rotor build. This is perfect and has a real exhaust. Every one is dumping out the hood and sides. Makes no sense.
@@61936 that's why I said u gotta be a baller cause oil changes, spark plugs every 6kmiles to prevent blowing the apex seals/porting the engine to prevent oil starvation and upgrading the apex seals, also going through gallons of oil from premixing every fuel up , I owned a rotary for a year or so and sold that thing , it was a great car just not a great daily
I know the star of the show is the 4 rotor…. But I really appreciate the faceplated S1 Sequential…. I’d be happy with a regular C5 Vette with that setup

I mean 4 rotors are overkill for a street build plus they cost the same or more then a rx7
Love how its crazy powerful but looks rly clean
Yep. The rx7 has such beautiful lines it doesn't need all the gawdy wide body crap
Ya mon. All factory minus the wheels and brakes.
Totally agree the stock look makes it
The radio flopping out of the dash really makes it

Mazda FTW
Don't forget Australia has alot of 4 rotors aswell.
@@Skyrexx7 There's only 2 that are registered and street legal. That's the RX2 called 26B, and SAVANA. 👍 We also have the Queen St BMW that's done 6s.
