- My biggest regret as a Retired OFW.
It's easy to forget or postpone passport renewal once you've retired from overseas work. This was especially true for us during the pandemic as we had no plans of travelling then. But don't do what we did, please.
Sharing this with the hopes that it doesn't happen to anyone.

Condolences po Ma'am 😢 My father recently passed away. He passed away after a major heart surgery done in Manila. Ang sakit po kasi habang kinakamit ko ang mga pangarap ko dito sa Australia, lumilipas ang panahon na hindi ko siya naaalagaan. Nagbabalak na po ako umuwi ng Pinas magpatayo ng apartment na pangkabuhayan para mapagkakitaan at para maalagaan ko din po ang parents ko kanya lang bigla po na nagkasakit sa heart ang papa ko 😢 Ang sakit sakit po Ma'am 😢 Ngayon po uuwi na po ako for good para po may maglook after sa mama ko. My condolences to ur family. Maging lesson learned na lang ito for u and other people. Especially, for someone who is from a family of ofws. So nasa iba’t ibang bansa yung family mo, basic knowledge na dapat yung pag renew ng passport before it expires.

What's meant to be will always be. There is always a plan for everyone of us. It may seem as though you don't get to steer your own life. It also may look as though your life is predestined by some eternal all-knowing being - it simply means that nothing is meaningless. We need to accept that everything that should happen will happen. You can only wish that life doesn’t give you a bad blow unrecoverable. That’s life. Sadness and happiness come hand in hand.

if you have intentions of travelling abroad, always have the passports current. With your Ate- I am sorry for your loss. Seen many deaths of all sorts in my practice as a healthcare worker. Not pleasant. But we do our best to go on.

You can never trust Ph system yes the best is always to be prepare at all times. You cannot depend on the Philippine system whatever case it is even in healthcare there is no reliable services that is quick and efficient. It’s good you learned your lesson. In the Philippines be always on guard
