    It’s funny,I always find berettas Lowe in the comb for me and I’m only 5’7” so I had to change my 694 for another 694 but with adjustable comb and now it fits me nicely. Great video and I’m saving in the hope to get one next year.

    Barrel technology doesn't affect true recoil, except insofar is it affects the speed of the shot load. Felt recoil, assuming that the stock fits you, is largely a mental thing. If you convince yourself that forcing cones in the barrels reduce recoil, you will perceive that they recoil less despite the true recoil being the same. To reduced true recoil you have three options; reduce the shot speed, reduce the cartridge load or increase the weight of the gun. There are no other variables.

    • @thatgearguy
      @thatgearguy 2 місяці тому +1

      There is another variable which is the pressure curve produced and the shape of that curve. A short high peak which drops off suddenly produces a sharper feeling kick than a curve with a flatter peak and more gradual increase and decrease. This is where the changes to cone can improve the recoil feel. They do not remove any recoil energy, they just deliver it to your shoulder in a slightly different format.

      @@thatgearguy And there is also one more variable. the stock design! Definitively and measurable the muzzle flip and the "feeling" of recoil is strongly influenced by drop and cast. As more drop, the muzzle flip is stronger, as more cast, the torsion and side flip is stronger. May be GMK handed out a gun with more drop to meet your requirements! What drop the test gun had?

    Just got a 694, DT 11 just too pricey. No regrets really enjoying the 694

    Im not a big fan of beretta but DT-11 this guns a beast
    of a gun. Do you see on this gun theres a big difference on wood that doesn't match the forarm wood is way darker than the gun stock with beretta they never match if im buying a $12,000 gun its gotta match. This is why im a Ceasar Guerini Man pure quality and and spot on...

  • @buckshotaaa

    That's some good shooting there Edward, especially with a new gun. I'm a little confused though. You said the gun had 30" barrels and later in the summary you said they had 32" barrels.
    Also the Pro Ones seemed to come down a shot size from 7.5 to 8 in the summary lol.
    BTW, Amber should have had the GOLD, she was robbed.
    Out of all the local grounds, which do you like best/most testing etc?
    Keep the vids rolling mate.👍

    Great review. I am currently looking at either the Invictus 1 or Dt11. What’s your opinion? I really like the Caesar warranty and have read many nightmare reviews with Beretta. I am in the US and would appreciate your opinion now that you have shot both. Thank you

    Don’t have any issue with recoil from mine, definitely never feel like my shoulder has been beat up. I had a 694 before and to me the recoil was the same. After hearing reviews you think there will be nothing, but that’s simply not true, there has to be some recoil

    Did you just use the one cartridge with it. I have one and wouldn’t say that the felt recoil is anything punchy. Tbh I am really surprised that you have brought that up as a slight negative. I do however agree with you about the fore end. I have the same one and would love to change it for a beaver tail type.

  • @MR12GAUGE

    They use the guns that offer the best deals, they have all said the same about previous brands, beretta are biggest brand- easy to see why so many go with them

    • @FlintenschuleChristianSchulte
      @FlintenschuleChristianSchulte Місяць тому

      Do you really think it's that easy to explain? If the shotgun was no good, the shooters would never be successful with it. And do you think that world-class shooters would resort to poorer performing equipment because of a little support (if at all, not all medal winners had a sponsorship contract!)? Certainly not!

    • @MR12GAUGE
      @MR12GAUGE Місяць тому

      @FlintenschuleChristianSchulte i think its as easy as this- if you gave george digweed a baikal, and made a fore end and stock to his specs, he would still shoot numbers near where he is now, and if you doubt that you are oblibious, are the top tier guns good- yes , but is a dt11 worth what they ask in mechanical advantage over say a 682 gold e- 100% no

    • @FlintenschuleChristianSchulte
      @FlintenschuleChristianSchulte Місяць тому

      @@MR12GAUGE Sorry. This answer is also too easy. Do you really think that George Digweed would have FUN to shoot a Baikal? For sure he will hit a certain percentage, but you have to force him at gunpoint to perform with inferior equipment. If you are comfortable with your Land Rover, you will definitively not go back to a Dacia!

    • @FlintenschuleChristianSchulte
      @FlintenschuleChristianSchulte Місяць тому

      By the way: A gun is always worth what you pay for it! And there are many who have not regretted the purchase price of DTs. Says one owner of a Beretta DT11, a DT10 and an AS-12E. As I said, you have to have FUN WITH THE GUN! That's what plays a role in daily use, the price is then forgotten. With a Baikal, however, you will always have (justified!) doubts as to whether you wouldn't have more fun if you weren't so stingy. No offense intended!

    • @MR12GAUGE
      @MR12GAUGE Місяць тому

      @@FlintenschuleChristianSchulte well that contradicts what you said, forget fun- would he shoot well with any gun that fits him well, the answer is yes, brands like beretta are masters at slapping a fancy name on cold forging and acting like you cannot possibly break targets unless you have that "tech" in 2 steel tubes, laughable, scores havent improved with the wealth of knowledge and technology from the 80s, and they where using bum basic 425s etc

    No gun of the shelf rarely fits any shooter stock gets modified to fit or a custom stock, also there are probably more Perazzi at issf competitions.

    Beretta gives the top shooters the latest offering to promote firearms...Amber started with Perrazzi and she raved about her shotgun until Beretta came along with a better deal...It's all marketing...Manufacturer blowing smoke up someone's posterior!

    • @OldFashioned-h1k
      @OldFashioned-h1k 2 місяці тому

      I thought Amber started with a Caesar Guerini before switching to Perazzi. Kim Rhode also used a Perazzi; even taking it into a duck blind on Chris Dorsey's Outdoor World but she too was tempted by Beretta with a better deal. I have never seen Vincent Hancock with anything other than a Beretta. Madeleine Russell also used a Beretta when she recently became junior world champion.
      Perazzi still have some of the top shooters, including our own Ben Llewellyn and current female world champion Danka Bartekova, while Kreighoffs are sometimes seen in the hands of top level skeet shooters but Beretta seem to thoroughly dominate top level skeet.
      It does help a gun company's sales if their products are used by the world's best shooters so yes it is definitely a marketing ploy and some of these shooters have been tempted by a superior support package when they might have a preference for something else.

    • @CaptainRon513

      It's not the firearm that wins championships. Gun fit is your most important element. If your gun doesn't fit it's like peeing off the windward rail. Most modern competition shotguns will win you a championship if it shoots where you look, so stop wasting your time and money trying to buy higher scores! Get your gun fitted first.@@thatgearguy

    It is a great gun, but Beretta's marketing team had a lot to do with it. Free guns. Free custom stocks and endorsements ALL play into why you see these guns with American Olympic shooters. If you look at older videos, Krieghoff and Perazzi ruled the field.

  • @yoryteperman429
    @yoryteperman429 Місяць тому

    It's interesting you noted some recoil, however, have you considered that it may not be a gun but you? As someone already pointed down in the comments, barrels do not have anything to do with recoil except through increased weight (and, of course, a muzzle brake if you are shooting a rifle - but that's irrelevant when you shoot a shotgun...) I think there two main components to perceived recoil besides weight: - there is a psychological aspect to recoil - a tolerance if you will, which for a civilian is likely lower than to a someone who served in a military (it's been thirty years ago for me, for example).
    Then - more importantly, there is the proper grip and proper pose, and I mean not just palms, but I notice that some shotgun shooters without previous military experience (i.e. without previous "institutional" instruction on shooting while standing) have their elbows "thrusted" sideways - which most military men would laugh at. Now, if I may suggest a little better pose (which at first may feel a little unusual and awkward if you are not used to it) - but it WILL reduce your felt recoil greatly as you will be holding your gun more rigidly (not harder squeezing with your palms but overall more rigidly aligned with your body) - try to hold it with lowering both elbows down! It's a classic (and classy) technique which is very effective - it will surely help you with experienced recoil as you won't be thrown about so much as to feel beat up after a hundred shots... Cheers!

    It actually looks like longer than 30" barrels. I am a casual shooter. My shotgun is around $2000. I don't believe that expensive of a gun would improve my scores. I would also like an adjustable comb and a slightly higher rib.
