Thank you very much for your kind words, I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. So much positive feedback from this style of format so there will be plenty more to come. Kind regards, Matthew
Undoubtably Beretta have outdone themselves by offering these two premium clay guns. Right now, I would probably go with the DT11 and use the other Freddo for the trip to Beretta to have it custom fitted. I know several of the top US shooters are already shooting the SL2. It might be interesting to revisit this subject next year as to see who in the world is shooting the SL2 and how it has been accepted. Thanks again for a great video! 😀
Thank you for your comment and sharing your opinion. I completely agree that it will be very interesting to see what is happening with the SL2 12 months down the line. All I would say is that a) having a custom DT11 cost a lot less than a Freddo and b) Beretta are not in the habit of building competition guns that don't win..... Kind regards, Matthew
I shot the DT11 and SL2 back to back a couple of months ago. Thought the SL2 was quite heavy and was only very incrementally smoother than the DT11. Surprisingly neither felt enormously less 'recoily' than my 686 Sporting (using Olympic Blue 24g).
Thank you for your comment and sharing your opinions. Although it is great to have a go with things I don't think that you really notice a difference until you have owned something for a while. Everyones perception of recoil for example, is different. Kind regards, Matthew
Thank you for your comment, I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. I think we will have to wait a bit of time to see the real Freddo value of the SL2. Kind regards, Matthew
Fantastic review Matthew in great detail. The SL2 looks awesome but I love my DT11. Great news also you are now in 2025 taking customers to the Beretta factory for a custom fitted stock, something I have been lucky enough to experience.
Thank you for your comment, I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. Yes a lot of information in these comparison videos, which is always my aim. Kind regards, Matthew
Another great review Matthew. Breaking the guns down into components and describing each piece very informative. I think it’s a DT 11 for me although in a 32” adjustable.
Thank you for your comment, I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. I agree that the design is simply unique and superb at the same time and that Freddos should be cherished 🐸! Kind regards, Matthew
another brilliant comparison video Matt, great news about you being able to take customers to Italy, I went straight to the treat cupboard only to find someone had eaten all the Freddos , and what is worse there does appear to be a severe shortage in Suffolk I guess people have been stockpiling them😂😂
Thank you for your comment. Yes it is nice to be going back to Italy in 2025 and as for Freddos, I am expecting a spike in sales from this 🐸😂! Kind regards, Matthew
DT11 looks much like the 694 which I’ve shot and is brilliant so what the DT11 shoots like must be awesome. But for looks I’d go for the SL2 but would not turn my nose up to either gun. Great video as always.
An excellent comparison, thanks. I have just dropped £1k on a new ATA Pro12. ( the equivalent of a Freddo wrapper). I know for a fact that however much I would like to own a more expensive gun, it wouldn't improve my shooting by one or two Freddos.
Thank you for your comment, I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. Believe it or not you are a bit out with the DT11 cost, depending on the exact model the basic (not that I would ever refer to a DT11 as being basic) is pretty much half the cost of the SL2, hence the Freddo reference. Kind regards, Matthew
Well I’m sorry to tell you Matthew I have seen DT11 £12.000 and like you say depending on the model I have also seen SL2 at £18995 . If you was comparing ATA against a kofs you could use two freddo but the cost between the two beretta’s you could buy 1/2 the sweet shop out. And how many average club shooters will be able to buy a SL2. And just like you I shoot a DT11. Thanks
Perhaps when I wear out my 682 gold I would consider buying one of these, I really like the aesthetics of the SL2. Until then, I’ll just keep breaking clays….
Thank you for your comment. I guess that the problem is that you are not likely to wear out your 682 Gold. Maybe you just need to shoot more 😁. Kind regards, Matthew
No issue with the SL2 just think they got the price point very very wrong. When you look at what’s out there for less money it simply doesn’t make any financial sense. ANY gun can win you championships, as has been proven with many using £2k browning and berettas/ CG etc. Give it a few years and you’ll be seeing these at half the price they are now. Great vid by the way as always guys. Keep up the great work x❤
Thank you for your comment, I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. I appreciate your comment but I guess that in the modern world there are a number of examples that don't make financial sense. For example why does a new Range Rover Sport now cost £200K but are arguably less reliable than cars costing a 1/4 of that? Personally I think that the price point of the SL2 reflects the amount of time and money Beretta have invested along with the exclusivity that they are try to achieve with this product. Kind regards, Matthew
@@eastfieldgunroom I had a very similar chat with Lloyd P about the exact same thing. The Range Rover analogy, I interpret as more money than sense and gotta look good when dropping the kids off at school. Maybe that translates to the clay ground and comps, or what I think is it’s a show piece for beretta, aspirational maybe? Talking point definitely, and look great with the sponsored shooter. They’ll bag a few sales for sure by those with the Range Rover attitude. What I’m personally looking forward to is the drip down of this evolution through the lower ranks of guns, this is where the regular shooter will win. DT12 maybe? Who knows. It’s a funny old game marketing. I see it for what it is, great engineering for sure, but won’t hit the clays any better than a 682 gold e pointing in the right direction ❤
@@eastfieldgunroomI drove one off road the other day, it’s not worth it IMO, it’s not 100k better than a 2019 RR, but they will sell them alright. Because there’s a lot of money floating around.

Another excellent review both excellent competition guns. Depends what your going to use them for. May I suggest a SO5 sporter into mix? Grail level sporter if your not into top level competitions.
Would have thought an extra fredo merits a nice wooden case with green beize interior for chokes and weights. Really think this is overpriced by a lot. But horses for courses, if you can afford it i am sure it is lovely. Thanks for the video and your honest opinion.
Thank you for your comment, I am pleased that you enjoyed the video. As you say horses for courses and it will be very interesting to see what happens with the gun in the next 12 months. Kind regards, Matthew
I would like to try the SL2 to see how smooth it is but as yet I have not been able to track the press gun down that's doing the rounds in the uk. I shoot a 694 currently and love it except for the problems i'm experiencing with the stiff trigger at the moment. For me personally I think the SL2 is everything I look for in a gun aesthetically, I have tried, only for a brief time the DT11 and being left handed I caught my finger on the sharp side locking bolt stuck out the left side of the action so the SL2 get my vote and worth the extra Freddo
Great comparison matt ,and what lovly looking guna loving that wood on the sl2,as for the price its top end shotguns and theres always someone who can afford it same as everything in life ,ive been looking at dt11s lately there is something about beretta that draws you to them 😂
If I had two Freddos to spend I would also buy the SL2 but it is worth nothing that the market for guns at this price point is very small and as such re-sale of a two Freddo gun could be a tad difficult.
Great analysis, thank you! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
In terms of looks it has to be the SL2. But will it give you two more clays for the two Freddo’s. Only time will tell? As for the “Pro’s”, one can only assume they can offset the extra Freddo against their tax bill? As for myself as a 60 year old “below”, average “club”, shooter I will stick you my Yildiz Pro😉. Great review by the way!😊👍
I think the SL2 looks like quite a performer, but I guess I'm questioning the decision to leapfrog Krieghoff and Kolar at the 1.5Freddo mark. But I'm just an American trap shooter...
Thank you for your comment. There is no question in my mind that they are both great guns. Your DT11 will give you many years of shooting joy I am sure. Kind regards, Matthew
Thanks for this video. We all know the proverb “it’s not the arrow, It’s the Indian”. But we are also grown kids who like toys. Thank you for your comment. The idea behind the review was exactly this, to understand everyones opinions and thoughts. Ultimately the SL2 has huge boots to fill in order to compete with the DT11 on the international circuit, but I am not sure Beretta designed and built the SL2 as a boot filling exercise. Kind regards, Matthew
My 682 Supersport is probably only worth 1/4 of a Freddo wrapper, but I’ve had it for about 35 years, never let me down and it’s paid for itself several times over in local competitions. Money will spent as far as I’m concerned. I would have to sell my entire Freddo wrapper collection (and my house) to buy an SL2! 😬
Actually 1 fredo is about 26000 cartridges!!! Much as I like both the dt11 and SL2, and 888, I know where I should spend my fredo's to get the most improvement. Btw where do you get fredo's? I've never seen them.
