Hey Tamar, I'm really excited. I got your plans from Instagram and I'm building a vanity-desk for my daughter. It's going super well! Today I finished the cabinet. When I added the hinges for the lid (torsion, thanks), I discovered that I didn't have enough space on one side; the lid was hitting one of the drawer cabinets. And this is one of things I enjoy most -- creating solutions to problems that inevitably occur! Thanks for your inspiring videos!

For that mirror I was thinking that if the hinge was more forward then the mirror could tip back more, maybe have more range for positioning, and the desk wouldn't have to be set away from the wall - but then there would probably be a joint on the desk top. Nicely done as is. Just an idea I have about how I might do something like this.

Really enjoy your videos. Was very impressed with your angled dowel jig. The only thing I didn't like on the desk was the L brackets. If you have a biscuit/plate joiner that would have been an option or perhaps a spline using your router table and a 1/4" straight bit to make a plunge cut spline slot.

There is also a hinge that can hold open used on windows. Or look for jewerly box hinges. It wont lock when open but will stop going all the way into the wall. goo.gl/images/JBGmzq

Where do you get all of these great ideas? You're really giving me confidence that I can start to make things like this in the future; it seems so daunting at first, but watching you create these great pieces of furniture gives me hope. Keep up the great work!

I got this idea when I saw my daughter sitting at a desk holding a mirror. Totally haven’t been planning this one for a while! That’s so awesome to hear! Just go for it. Make mistakes. And learn from them!

Awesome job, I've been looking lately into building a vanity for my wife. I'll be stealing some of your idea's 😅😅.
