    ABOUT THIS VIDEO
In this video we're building a live edge, epoxy, resin, slab desk. We've done a few live edge slab projects now, and so far we've been very restrained in our designs, making sure that we don't do anything to overshadow the slab itself. The wood slab top has always been the star of the show. In this project, we threw all of that out the window. The slab top is still an important part of the desk...but I think the base is the real star of the show here. I'm not sure if this was the right decision. But we wanted to give it a shot. So after you see the finished results, let us know what you think :)

The faces are beautiful, but as a cabinet maker and a utilitarian, I was really hoping for a more creative solution to efficiently fitting the drawer boxes into an angled space. I don't know if there is a good solution for that.
Also, I was surprised by plywood drawer boxes. While I have no problem with them in general, they seemed a little out of place on a project that otherwise seemed to be a level above that. I'll give it to you that they fit the modern aesthetic, but I think you could save money and up overall quality, but just ordering solid wood boxes from Rucker's or whoever. They barely show up in the video anyway.

I'm blown away by your ability to flawlessly execute - and even gloss over - the things you know so well, and then go further out of your way to humbly acknowledge the nuances of what you've been learning. I can't believe the desk is still listed for sale.

The author does like to ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

Even the video description impresses, annotated with time-coded index and product links.

This is the first of your videos I've come across. I am so taken with the blending of so many balanced & skillful ingredients. First the zen yet self-effacing persona of the narration. The seamless referencing of past content that points to an deep and ongoing conversation between creators and viewers but doesn't make the newcomer feel unable to follow. The professional music, editing, and camerwork. The slightly deadpan humor. And of course the striking design, and construction, introduction and demonstration of techniques and challenges without breaking the momentum. I'm so curious how the video and project and filming is planned. How much is scripted, how much emerges over the course of creation and filming, how much is discovered in the editing. Anyway, I liked and subscribed.

Im not even sure where to begin. Obviously, the piece you build here is impeccable. Your craftsmanship, especially working as a team, is unmatched. There are many skilled craftsman out there. But, in my opinion, the difference between their videos and yours is that you have somehow managed to map your thought process along the way in designing this piece and then merging that with interesting visuals that are relating to where you are in the project. Hands down the absolute best overall "how we did it" video I've ever seen. You should be very proud and probably paid way more than you make for these type projects.

This is one of the best desks for a long time. Not necessarily unique but certainly 'informed' and with shapes volumes and visual tension in balance. Not many people think in multi vista presentation of furniture and objects.... Do more not of the same style but of the same philosophy. Loved the construction

I suppose this channel has been around for a while and has a good size following but this is my first foray. What an incredible video. Leaving aside the star of the show, the desk, everything else about it was superb. The narrator just talking over the footage with only subtle activity noise (or was that an audible illusion?) was perfect for the style. I also really appreciated the Leather Honey ad being discussed and briefly shown while progress is made on the desk, absolutely brilliant, you guys are pros.
