for me the best handheld to date!!! i just love this little gadget so much :) the handling is just perfect. the display is also a stunner! up to and including PSX, everything runs perfectly and without any problems. Especially things like SNES , GBA , GB , GBC , FBN , MAME , Mega Drive look just sexy and razor sharp with a filter! But what I love most is the Vertical form factor! I also have horizontal handhelds, but to be honest, I'm nowhere near as happy with them as I am with the RG351V!!! I can really recommend this thing to everyone! Greez
When I saw the 351v in the black translucent plastic I fell in love. I add more and more games from my childhood, setting it up to be a snapshot of my youth. I love it so much I'm thinking about getting another one just because after so often it'll probably take a crap and they won't be manufacturing them forever. I got myself a decent case for it and it super pocketable.
This kinda makes me want to find my old hacked PSP Go! IMO it feels wrong to emulate a lot of the older games on the Steam Deck. Might have to pick this up too tho. Thanks!
Thank god for eBay. A quick search can grant you a 128gb card fully loaded with 12,000+ games for many systems and arcades. I am not tech at all. Just an old school dude who loves old school ish. In total I probably spent about $200 to get this thing like a plug and play. Well worth the price to me. There’s more games on this than I will ever be able to check out.
Nice video - Good call out on the over-heat light bleed issue, I get the same problem with mine. Guess it's a small price to pay for having all those systems and games in your pocket!
I need one one! My Steam Deck I like playing games that aren't portable anywhere else, my miyoo mini is cool and all but the 351V looks like a sweet spot! Seems like we're in a similar boat!
Also I love my rg351v in Grey, reminds me of a gameboy. Only issue I have had is it makes a slight noise on start up... sounds like a quiet pop. But then its fine.
Love your comment on how compelled you are to get a Miyoo Mini. Same here after getting the RG351v, I felt the need to get more of these devices even though I have other powerful devices
Honestly, I'd recommend getting a Retroid Pocket 2S that's either just come out, or is about to. I personally have a Retroid Pocket 2+, not a 2S. But the 2S is essentially a 2+, but better. Better sticks, better triggers, a couple extra front buttons and stuff. The Pocket 2+ can run up to PS1 and Dreamcast really well. I'm actually surprised how well it runs Dreamcast, Atomiswave, and Naomi especially. They run damn near perfect. Even fully 3D Naomi games run great. PS1 runs really well too. Full on Arcade games run great, as long as you're not trying to run say, Tekken 3's arcade version. It can actually run Tekken 1 fine, but anything past that is laggy. But pretty much any 2D Arcade game you can think of, runs really well. N64 runs well too for the most part. Some slowdown in the obvious games like Goldeneye, and Perfect Dark, but otherwise it's fine. I wouldn't recommend it for PSP, but if this can run PSP, the Retroid should be able to run the same, if not slightly more. And DS works great too, thought due to only having one screen, you'll need to have a button set to swap between screens, and heavy touch-screen games probably won't be super playable. Stuff like Pokemon would work fine though. As for the device itself. The 2+'s right stick absolutely blows. It's a crappy little slider stick like the 3DS has, but worse. The 2S though, fixes that by having a legit stick. And both sticks on the 2S are Hall Effect sticks, so no drift. The screen is 640x480, 4:3. Pretty much the same as the one in this video, and it looks great. It's also a touch screen. It runs Android, which will turn some people off, but personally I like it. It means I can do all my emulation, and also have android apps and some android games. Plus I can just use a frontend like Reset Collection or Daijisho (my personal pick), to select my games and stuff. Essentially being the same kinda deal as the game selection menus on the one in the video. The actual console itself feels great to hold. All the buttons feel nice, they're in a nice spot, and feel good in your hand. The plastic itself is, well, plastic. But it has a nice feeling to it, almost like an old DMG Game Boy plastic. I haven't timed the battery life on the 2+, so I can't really talk about that. But I've never had it really die on me as long as I remember to charge it when I'm not using it, and remember not to just leave it on with FTP and stuff running in the background. And I don't know if the 2S upgraded the battery or not. Now, the Retroid Pocket 2S is a horizontal handheld, like the original GBA. Not vertical like the video. But, it's still really comfortable to hold. There IS also the Retroid Pocket 3+ and the Retroid Flip (which is just a 3+, in a clamshell). Those are ever so slightly more powerful, but also cost more. The Retroid Pocket 2S is $99, plus tax and shipping. Which, to be honest, is a great price for a handheld that can run up to PS1, Dreamcast, Arcade games, and DS with no issues. Along with being able to run Android apps and games.
Setting up the card should be easy. The UA-cam channel RetroGameCorps has you covered on that end. Getting the games is a different topic. I have my own collection of roms but if you don't, or at least don't know where to start, I'd recommend going on Reddit and checking out the top post of all time on r/anbernic.
You'll need to install it as a port from portmaster. I believe RetroGameCorps has a tutorial on how to get portmaster up and running. You'll need to provide some of your own game files, here's a link on what you need github.com/christianhaitian/PortMaster/wiki#space-cadet-pinball If you google around it shouldn't be hard at all to track down those files. I would just google something like "Space Cadet Pinball PINBALL.DAT files"
@@the_new_challenger thank you sir. Im seriusly considering this device. But most reviews said its quite incomfortable to play for long session. What do u think?
@@burhanmustafar7674 Everyone's a little different in that regard. For me personally, I haven't had any issues with the ergonomics while playing for long sessions. Of course there's more horizontal oriented devices if you think comfort might be an issue such as the 351mp or retroid pocket devices. There's also a grip for the 351v that you can either 3d print or buy online. I was going to show it off in the video but my 3d printer has been broken for the past few months and I've been too lazy to fix it.

It looks like Freedom Planet. A Sonic clone, though I don't know how he's playing it unless he's streaming from his PC or something. It's a PC and Wii U game.
Do you know how to transfer the stock bios to another SD? The info from retro game core is not relevant. My device didn't come with those files he is talking about.
Mine didn't come with the stock BIOS either. From what I remember I just had to get a BIOS pack online. Google "retroarch bios pack" and one of the first results should be from archive.org then that should have what you need.
Can i just delete games and whole platforms from the stock game card? Ive added a few games i wanted and that worked easy enough. Just wondering if i can delete games from the card. And can i just delete the Coleco folder?
I'm sure it'll be fine to just delete them. You can copy the folders onto your pc to be safe then delete what you don't want on the micro SD card and see if that has any negative impact but it should be fine
Any of these kinds of things that come with roms on an sd card, you can delete any games you want and add your own. Though, to be honest, I'd definitely recommend just getting a whole new SD card. I can't imagine the one it comes with is very good or reliable. Wouldn't wanna find out a couple months down the road that the SD card died and all your stuff is gone.
I ordered this device twice, and BOTH times it came shipped from China loose in a box, with the lid popped off and the system just bouncing around inside a much larger box (with no additional packaging). The first time I returned it I said "what the hell guys? Just crumple up a piece of paper so this thing isn't bouncing around on its way across the ocean! How hard is that?" The second time I returned it I said "OK, you can't learn from the fact that I returned it the first time? Well then, buh-bye." (Both times I ordered directly from Anbernic, via Amazon.) Eventually I bought a used version, because I didn't want to give any money directly to that company, but I did really like the form factor and aesthetics of this device, and I think the IPS screen is superb for systems like Sega CD.
