That's a bad situation, so I had a few thoughts what can be done about it.
      1. Get yourself an Odin 2. If this is not possible:
      2. Use the setup guides in this video for every other highend android smartphone you possibly own. If there is no use in this also then:
      3. Just leave this guide for those it was made for and try to find a video for a device you actually own.
      There are options!

I have all emulators loaded and configured. I want to use Daijisho but I’m having some problems. For example, when I click on PS2, it’s supposed to load AetherSX2. Instead of going directly to the ROM, it just takes me to the list of games instead, or will not load Aether at all. All of the emulators work fine by themselves so that tells me the problem is either with Daijisho. I’ve already checked the player selected to make sure those are all correct. Any ideas on how to resolve this? I see several other people of posted the same problem on Reddit, but no solution.

      @@RetroGameCorps Pretty good guide!
Something I like to do, is to arrange the platforms from the Highest Fidelity Graphics to the Lowest Fidelity Graphics. So that when you go into your front-end you have all the latest games first, and usually you would have less of these due to performance issues, and storage constraints. As for the games, I try to limit them to the Top 50 Games from each platform.
In case you're curious, here's how my preservation folder is arranged:
      BIOS Folder,
      0A Atari Systems, 0B Nintendo Systems, 0C Coleco Systems, 1A Phillips Oddysee2, 1B Atari VCS 2600, 1C ColecoVision, 2A Atari Plus 7800, 2B Sega Master System, 2C Nintendo Entertainment System, 2D Nintendo Game Boy, 2E SNK NeoGeo Pocket Color, 2F Bandai WonderSwan Crystal, 2G Sega Game Gear, 2H Atari Lynx, 3A NEC Turbografx 16, 3B PC-Engine TurboExpress, 3C Sega Nomad, 3D Sega Mega Drive, 3E Super Nintendo, 3F Nintendo Gameboy Advance, 3G Nokia Ngage, 4A Sega 32X-CD, 4B Phillips CDi, 4C Panasonic 3DO, 4D Atari Jaguar, 4E Microsoft DOS, 5A Sega Saturn, 5B Sony PS1, 5C Nintendo 64, 5D Nintendo DS, 5E Sega Dreamcast, 5F Windows 98 Games, 6A Sony PSP, 6B Sony PS2, 6C Nintendo 3DS, 6D, Nintendo GameCube, 6E Nintendo Wii, 6F MS Xbox, 6G Windows XP Games, 7A Sony PS Vita, 7B MS Xbox 360, 7C Sony PS3, 7D Nintendo WiiU, 7E Android Games, 8A Nintendo Switch, 8B MS Xbox One, 8C Sony PS4, 8D Valve SteamDeck, 8E Windows 7 Games, 9A MS Xbox Series S, 9B Sony PS5, 9C MS Xbox Series X, 9D Windows 10 Games.
Some of the folders are empty, but I like to keep the folders just as a reminder as to where those platforms sit. This might seem overkill or OCD, but I believe if you put in the effort upfront, and try to keep things ordered, simple, and minimalistic.... it goes a long way later when you're actually trying to play.
Also it makes it easier to repeat the steps if/when you make an upgrade, or you want to make a new device as a gift. Just set things up neatly, and gift away. Happy Gaming!

Just got the Odin 2 pro and this video plus your others is a huge reason why! My first handheld that isn't a lockdown Nintendo device or vita back in the day so I'm super excited to finally dive into the emulation scene after not really doing anything for 30+ years and figured the Odin 2 pro checked all the boxes for me with power/form factor/battery life/ build quality and it will still be a beast for a few years instead of being obsolete like many tech purchases I make so I'm super excited.
It just arrived 30 minutes ago so watching this as I set everything up. I've been getting roms and bios files the past couple days and hoping these goes smoothly

I must be an idiot because I got to the part on games and became overwhelmed. I might end up ordering an Anbernic device that has the card preinstalled with the games when you turn it on. However, I don’t like the device as much and I know the better games I want to play probably won’t run that well if at all. I wish there was someone I could just bring the Odin 2 to and pay them to set it up for me. I just know if I try this I will end up screwing something up.

Thank you so much for putting this video and online text guide together, it's really above and beyond for what I initially assumed was just another endless handheld review channel but this was tremendously detailed and you know your stuff. Been into emulation since the 90s and there are still loads of tricks and a constant flow of updates to keep up on and I'm digging into your guides playlist a ton now and finding all sorts of useful nuggets. What a treasure trove!
And also thanks for having such a comprehensive review on the Odin 2 to begin with, it absolutely secured my purchase and couldn't be happier with this thing. With less and less massive strides and milestones in gaming compared to even 10 years ago when Android felt new and fresh and I'd lose my mind at getting PSX, Dreamcast, Saturn, Dolphin, etc on my phone in rapid succession, I often get cynical and tend to see all these generational leaps now as "well cool I can finally upscale that game I played 100x to 4k instead of 1080p for only $800... yay" and lost my sense of wonder but Odin 2 really does feel like a solid endgame device for me and the build quality is without compromise. Unless Xbox 360 and PS4 android emulators come to market and once optimized can't run at native res on this thing I think I'm set for life haha.

Bud your a legendary showing us how to do this. I had no idea what to do but you literally taught us how all this works. Couldn't have done it without you.
This video could have been 2 hours and it would have been fine. Honestly I constantly had to pause cause some sections were quick. The written guide is great idea too cause I referred to that occasionally. Thanks again you should have added paypal donate link in your description to give you a tip. Anyways thanks again.

@ubertherapy you are most likely missing a update. In the walk thru setup. There are quite a few updates that are attached and placed. I would say go back to ps2 setup and redo it and watch each step. I'm sure it's something you missed. I had to go back and reset up my retro arch it was all wrong the first time I did it. It's good now. Same with yuzu I could get that to work at first. Then I updated yuzu to newest version and works like charm.

Great guide! Here are a couple of quick tips that really helped me:
I found the Select button to be a bit tricky to use as a hotkey button. However OdinTools has a setting that will help with that. It will allow you to remap the otherwise-useless rear buttons (M1 and M2) to mirror any other button, including Select. So I mapped both M1 and M2 (both of the rear buttons) to Select, that way I can use whichever one is easier/more convenient depending on whatever hotkey I'm using.
As for the Switch A/B/X/Y mapping (how you have to switch out of Xbox mode otherwise A/B and X/Y are the wrong way around, mentioned at 55:07) OdinTools has a setting to help with that as well. OdinTools has an "App Overrides" feature that will let you change various settings (including controller style) based on whatever app is running. So I just added Yuzu, Skyline, etc. as an app override and set the controller style to "Odin" for those apps.

Great video! Just got the Odin 2 after viewing your very informative review videos. This one is saving me a ton of fiddling and experimentation with the settings. Having also your site as written reference is quite useful. Thanks for putting so much effort in making all this clear and complete.

Thank you, Russ! I have been on this scene since the LDK Landscape and RG350, but they way things evolve, it is very helpful to know the best/latest settings from someone whom has set up so many of these devices!
