After watching this, I am almost 100 percent certain that this occurs between the Buu saga and the Beerus saga. The reason I say this is as follows:
1. there isn't any showing of any characters in Super. This might be intentional, and you can use the excuse that a super dragon ball was shown, but this doesn't mean anything since the super dragon balls always existed and it's possible that our main cast just won't come in contact with it.
2. There is a lot of showing of the Buu saga and stuff about it. My theory of the plot is that the two demon guys watched the most recent battle of the cast (Buu battle) and were like yeah, these guys are a threat so we need to nerf them. So they did that to everyone involved in the battle with Buu, which is why Bulma and Chichi were also affected.
3. I wanted to add this in the second point, but notice how when changed, gotten and trunks are about the same age, if not younger, than Marron, which means that it's possible that since Marron wasn't involved in the Buu saga, she wasn't affected and the reason she's a baby is cuz she is literally just born. Otherwise, if this happened after, then Pan should also be present (though she isn't shown so I can't judge yet.)
4. A good point is also that notice how kibito and shin have the potara on their left and right yet they aren't defused. I'm guessing that the babyfying thing possibly defused them temporarily, and since they aren't fused in super, this can only happen between Z and BoG.
There's also the point that Trunks still has purple hair, but that shouldn't mean too much since he canonically did have purple before blue in any version.
I know this was long, and I almost never comment tbh, but this is just something I think people should see to confirm that this is indeed a filler and happened before super. I may end up being wrong, but that's the fun of guessing before the show comes out I guess.
Edit: I also wanna mention that its possible that the main villains are related to babadi and also that since it doesn't have the "Super" tag on its name, then its possibly before that confirming my theory.

To kinda clear things about the Super anime coming back. We are NOT getting the Super anime until the manga is AT LEAST 2 arcs ahead. Maybe even 3. Shueshia (the people who pretty much own DB) cannot legally go full force into the Super anime yet, apparently they haven’t even started pre production yet. I say don’t expect the Super until like 2026 at the absolute earliest. With the manga being monthly, it makes this process extremely slow.
DBD is a celebration of the DB franchise. Everyone that is a part of it how put there blood, sweat, and tears into. Even Toriyama himself did and that man hasn’t fully worked on anything since BoG. This is a passion project for all of them so I hope that we (because it’s mainly the American audience) can stop complaining that Super isn’t coming back yet and just enjoy this beautiful looking series that has had more love put into since probably DBZ first came out.
@@bippy515 bruh you can appreciate it all you want as we all probably will but “complaining” about super 2 (American audience or not) is how an audience shows and pressures studios what they want. They can make passion projects all they want and if it’s good then it will be well received. All these guys say is they want the anime instead of reading the manga. Take a deep breath bro. These “complaints” don’t hurt anyone. As a matter of fact they’re helpful in getting artist and audience opinions through to corporate assholes who just want to turn a profit.

Yeah whining won’t do any good, which most people _are_ doing in response to Diama, _but_ it is important to speak up, for the fandom have their say, just in a proper manner; give the feedback and hope the people in charge listen. Can’t just always sit complacently with things, I mean just look at the Sonic movie fiasco with the design, that definitely required the feedback from the fans. Now I’m just going to wait for Diama to come before I give my full opinion, but I do think it’ll be fun. But they can’t forget we do want Super’s return in the anime, we’ve waited incredibly long already. If they just keep doing spin-offs, passionate as they may be, instead of ignoring what the fans want, it won’t bode well. I mean what’s the point in holding comic con panels and similar reveals if not for the fans to get excited? So our input is certainly important, just not the whining, there is a difference
Crazy theory: those are from the previously destroyed universe 13, that come back thanks the super dragon balls when C-17 asked for the restoration of all the universes at the end of the ToP, and now they seek revenge
That would actually be pretty wild, if Android 17's wish was taken totally literally and brought back every single Universe to have ever been erased.
I am interested in watching it and have no issues with it. The problem I see is that this is what we are gonna get for the games too, and other future projects.
Xenoverse 2 future dlc, tenkaichi 4 and even fans of the mobile games like dokkan.
We won't have merus, ultra ego, moro, granola. We'll have kid: goku, vegeta, piccolo, roshi, etc.
I like that Toriyama is enjoying working on it, that means there's passion behind it and that gives me hope that it will be good. But I don't think I'd like the franchise going this route outside of this one thing, this one time.
Oh yeah damn I didn't even think about the impact on BT4 hopefully nothing too big but hopefully what we do get is fun
I watched anime like the adventures of Dai and Fate but I most definitely think it’s going to be a more comedic anime with probably some good actions scene it seems like it has the same concept as GT it just won’t be centered around the dragon balls I most definitely feel they took a gigantic step back because you went from ultra instinct to a evil wizard from Harry Potter

Kibito and shin used the dragon balls to unfuse during the universe 6 vs 7 arc because they believe lord champa was looking for the regular dragon balls not the super ones and when champa didn't come get them the fused kai used the dragonballs in order to unfuse

I get that some fans are really disappointed, but the last couple of things that Toriyama has been heavily involved in have all been great. And to make it better, this is the most involved he’s ever been in modern Dragon Ball anime, which gives me a sense of belief that the final product will be great. Yah Super 2 would be cool, but it would just be retelling Moro and Granolah for a large portion of its beginning. This is at least something brand new.
regardless if its good or not why are dragonball fans getting shafted with continuation in the story. We've gotten movies that have been redone in both manga and anime form over and over. Now you can make spinoffs and whatnot its fine but why not give the fans what they deserve before this random stuff
@@j.j.r98 Fans dont “deserve” anything. This series ended in 1997-98 with the finale of GT, and the fact that modern stories exist is the cherry on top.

@@j.j.r98Whats funnier is that the Japanese audience is overwhelming positive with DragonBall Daima because they've seen DragonBall for what it is, an adventure show. Western fans grew up with Z and thus they see it as purely an action show. Western fans also have huge entitlement to things like this saying it's not what fans deserve when they're only speaking for part of the community.
But the main audience is Japanese fans and they have been very estatic. Like sorry bud, you can take it or leave it, your English is not reaching Toriyama at all.

My problem with this is this confirms that they can bring back bardock and king vegeta, but wont.
I feel like this is a timeline series. The DB franchise is huge and they've probably been producing both shows all this time. Maybe acknowledging GT as a 'timeline'. I feel like thats what it could be hinting towards, but its a theory I got.

To my understanding the moment Goku uses instant transmission at the end of the Broly movie and goes home is when the Moro arc begins from what I’ve heard.

Acrually, it kinda gives me Bulma's birthday vibes, like before Beerus shows up. But Goku would have been at King Kai's. But then again, I doubt they put much story thought into this regarding the actually timeline

I think its funny that essentially a bunch of like 5 year old kids will have to suddenly look after literal babies in Maron, Goten Trunks and possibly even Pan (even though weirdly, no Gohan/Videl at all in the trailer). I'm excited to see some DB fights that aren't just ki blast battles too with this but i do wonder how the story will go. it's gonna be interesting to say the least and i'm happy that at least Toriyama is willing to take risks and do something different rather than just rehash the same stuff

I have been waiting to see the Goku versus Vegeta fight in the same way they falsely advertised it in the Kai opening.
Next year they are gonna drop a Budokai 4 and announce the Moro Arc around or at the same time because they are going to want to put all these new characters in the game and as Dragon Ball fans we just can't lose.
I’m fine with this being a side story that is just a short series to celebrate 40th anniversary. I’m pretty sure they built this story knowing they were going to use modern Toriyama art style. I’m fine waiting for Super and don’t mind Daima because there was a gap where we got nothing content wise but games. I’m grateful for anything we get tbh

Am I the only one thinking that if it undid the fusion of the Kai’s it should’ve done the same for Piccolo? I mean as kid Kami and Piccolo were still one being but Nail was not. I just remembered cause of what nano said at 19:30, there were 4 universes that weren't involved in the TOP because they were just massively stronger than every other universe. WHY DO WE NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THEM STILL BUT GETTING A WHOLE NEW SERIES ABOUT GOKU BEING TURNED INTO A KID
It wasn't because they were stronger, it was because they had a high mortal rate. Basically meaning that their G.O.D actually did their job.

@@shazayax5445 Their mortal rate would be the overall quality of the mortals, so while it could be possible that it means they're stronger, it could also just mean they were well managed by their own respective G.O.Ds.

The premise of Daima is to give the OG Dragon Ball adventure theme back to the show for the 40 year anniversary. Based on the Goku & Vegeta fight in the trailer I'm speculating that this is between the end of Super and the Broly movie.
7:30 From at seems and heard so far transformations are removed, They pretty much removed and back to the dragon ball route, which at that point I would have gathered for them to remake Dragon Ball with this animations and fix some plot holes to fit the story and cannon of now

Bro I just want to point out that it's canon that Bulma is the smartest person in there verse or at least on earth cuz in the joco manga it shows Bulma as a baby stealing and flying his space ship after she fixes it. And this has been my theory for a while Bulma is half tuffle and it's either her mom or dad that is a tuffle but I could see both of them being one. But that means trunks would be half sayin and a half tuffle that's one crazy hybrid right there
I feel like the biggest thing to take from this is that Diama is made in celebration of Dragon Ball’s 40th anniversary. It definitely has love letter vibes where the cast goes on a fun adventure and shenanigans occur, so it’s not supposed to be the next big development of the franchise. Now would it have been better to just do the Moro arc? Absolutely, I think everyone wanted that instead, but still, Diama’s just some extra fun content to enjoy for the 40th anniversary, which again, not exactly what we wanted, but I’ll take it. And who knows, maybe it will pop off near the end and do something crazy, we’ll just have to wait and see
It may also be an intermediate act before the continuation of the Moro arc...
I didn't expected Toei to redo the Battle of the Gods events in the anime so I would say there's no way they lose the anime fans like that.
I think it's still way too early to start the anime up again.
I'm feeling a lot better about this series compared to the leaks, since we now know it could focus on more characters than just Goku and Shin, but I have to agree that I still would have preferred it if the budget and animation time went into the main Super anime instead. Yeah, I mentioned that it's too early for the anime to come back, but it _isn't_ too early to at least put the two manga arcs into production and sit on it until the manga completes its next couple of arcs.
everyone in America maybe, because in Europe is a mixed bag some people like the feeling of nostalgia that Daima brings others want Super. And in Japan Daima is actually being received well most comments are positive about it and since the main target audience is Japan of course I guess they reached the main target audience at least

I’m in the same boat as you guys. I’ll definitely watch it but in the back of my mind I’ll be thinking “it could’ve been super”. For this new series to be successful it has to quell that thought at least some. I’ll be out if it is just goku and supreme Kai after the 1st episode

I believe Dragonball Z was originally supposed to be Dragonball 2 but tgere was an error somewhere between toriyama and the producers which caused them to go with Z instead
I wanna see Dragon Ball z Ultra
Have it start with an updated retelling of the end of Z, incorporating the new characters like Beerus and Whis, and give us some post Z action, like a sadala arc, maybe a universe 11 arc, ToP 2 arc, some sort of conflict involving the gods/angels, a retold (better) version of the shadow dragon arc, black frieza, etc.
The only thing i'm hoping that happens with this new Daima show is that they have Goku and Vegeta's tails grow back (because they're kids), and they keep them when they revert back to adulthood at the end, thereby setting things up down the road for a super saiyan 4 transformation, which basically all fans of Dragon ball consider to be either their favourite or one of their favourite forms. (And we know Toei loves cashing in on that nostalgia by recycling old ideas.. so i'm hanging on to the hope that this is all just setup for something bigger and better down the road..
It would also be cool if we got a spinoff series about Trunks and the time patrol, so basically heroes but with an actual plot and structure..

It seems like this takes place before B.O.G. and after after Buu. Toriyama just forgot about Kibito Kai. This could help keep the power scaling in check, though.

what if them showing gt at the beginning of the trailer is them showing us that super saiyan 4 or something maybe similar to it is a possibility to be a feature in future canon content

Honestly, I am excited to go back to OG dragon ball, because I think of the emotion and powerful story beats we got back in the day, and getting more of that is not a bad thing. If this turns out to be filler that's never brought up again, that would be ass, but we don't know, I mean, them becoming kids doesn't have ruin the maturity of the characters, Gt made Goku the best he had ever been character wise. You can dislike the premise but I say if you do intend to watch it, go into it with good faith, instead of trying to hate it.

While I would have much rather had a side series centered around the Universe 6 characters, I don't instantly hate this. We might actually get to see some characters who haven't been relevant in a long time be cool again. If this gives them more time to work on the next half of the DBS manga and the anime, I'll take it.

11:60 Now that you actually say that, I had a point on why Dragon creates just don't know what to do with the series or more specifically progress forward with the story because everyone is just godly at this point and Goku reaching Ultra instinct is a peak which to me it seems like the main reason, since even in the manga there are so many versions of UI at this point, which at this point they made "True ultra instinct Omen" stronger than white hair UI, it might one of the reasons but it's definitely a reason, that the series is having transformations burn out and don't know what to do going forward anymore so they had to go with this idea
13:40 I know it’s Doto’s opinion but I feel like he’s wrong about GT handling Super Saiyan forms for kid Goku.
The only times where GT Goku went SS3 was against Baby Vegeta which is totally passable because he’s the main villain and he got washed the 1st time and the 2nd time Goku went SS3 against the stronger version of baby that already defeated SS3, so objectively speaking, there isn’t an issue with that.
As for regular SS, the only times that he struggled against villains with regular SS was Rildo which was already stated to be above the Majin buu saga and Super 17 who was already destroying the GT cast including vegeta so like idk where the problem doto has with GT’s handling of Super saiyan with Goku comes from.
Them getting super young is weird, but most of all, I'm wondering if the androids are still androids or if they reverted into being human.

The irony of Doto saying he wants consequences in this series, while 7 minutes ago he was saying he wanted more Super is very evident. Especially when it's established in Super that nothing really matters, they'll just use the Dragon Balls for whatever they want, whenever they want.

@@TheKingOfRooks you say that but as far as Im aware, they were only used to revive people twice in the OG Dragon Ball, in Z its like 8 times, in Super the dragon balls are power-crept by Whis and most of damage is either undone or contained by him

Makes me wonder about if they make it canon. It’ll be about what vegeta mentioned in superhero where they need to manage Ki better to catch up to the power houses. Like this will be the arc to force them to practice/develop that technique.

Just because it might not get mentioned in future arcs doesn't mean it's filler. By that logic Goku Black and Zamasu and the U6 arc are filler because they have not been mentioned or briefly shown AT ALL in the ToP, Broly and Superhero. Only the ToP and Jiren have been mentioned in Broly and Superhero.
They didn't say that he just said they throw stuff in from the filler to make it feel like that filler mattered at that point
