Good idea. What I did was put clothes for my kids in boxes, marked it garage sale. Told him I was going to my mom's and we were having one. I left town, he didn't know what hit him.
in every interview he did you could see how he revelled in the attention and smirked throughout knowing he killed lindsay and he was 'getting away with it' just sickening
It's too bad they didn't grab him earlier and interrogate him until he told the truth. All the people going to his house gave him a thrill. It's there in his smirk. Well, he's got a lifetime to think about it all now. I saw no smirk when they walked him to the van handcuffed.! 👍😀
@@justmemother2 In the USA a person can get a life sentence without parole or a life sentence but still be eligible for parole in a certain amount of years. Hope that's not the case in your country, or he could be out on the streets again looking for someone else's demise. 🇺🇲
When my dad killed my mom it ruined my life. I was only 5. I hope these kids grew up and learned to love themselves and learn the are not like there father but a living testimony for their mom.
Hearing that a little girl said “I wish I could die and go up to heaven with my mom” had to be one of the most gut-wrenching things I’ve ever heard. Kids may not understand the gravity of what they’re saying or the permanence of death, but that line ripped my heart out of my chest. I hope that thought isn’t something she still carries with her today and those children got the counseling they needed.
Awww the little girl told her mom's picture goodnight. That really broke my heart. I can imagine she was probably just waiting for her mom's return and had no idea she was gone. I feel so sorry for the children😞
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if your child keeps going back to their abuser, the appropriate response is never punishment. Giving them the silent treatment may kill them. While her husband has the ultimate blame here, her family saw red flags and did nothing. Didn’t even report her missing. Since her brother died by suicide after this, her parents lost two children.
Dealing with a daughter (and her children) who goes back to their abuser at least twice a year is difficult. It's hard to watch and worry about whether he is hurting them.
They didn't report her missing because she's ignored them for months before. They didn't know she was missing, and I'm sure they feel guilty enough. Now that we know what happened it's easy to pass judgment.
Then what do you do? My mothers daughter (I no longer call her my sister) has come and gone to the same abuser well over 20 times already. She has two daughters (one she herself knows is his and the other she doesn't know since she slept with the guys brother at the same time). My mother keeps taking her and the girls back in, only to be told to "Get F-ked and die" over and over again while her daughter threatens to call the cops if any of us gets close to wherever she decides to sleep that month. I hate seeing my mother like this, but what can I do to help?
If someone hands you a note, that says, " Please help me" that is an absolute emergency, and the fact the family didn't respond to the urgency of the situation, is devastating. They will regret that for the rest of their lives
Hayley Turner : They won't simply they are the kind of family nobody needs. Some families are that way, for many different reasons, but if anybody ,relative or not, ask for help that way, any decent person (let alone relatives) will help, somehow.
@@sparingpickle4918 Can you stop victim-blaming? She was a victim, and you have no idea how hard it is to escape the clutches of a manipulator. They will make you feel like it is your fault, even though it isn't. They are so skilled at guilt tripping and gaslighting you. Most abusers are also very charismatic, so even if the victims speak up, people will have a hard time believing them. Escaping an abusive relationship is very, very hard.
@@nowi__ Ohhh shut up. That’s such a childish excuse. Your so ignorant to the fact she refused to leave a situation and constantly repeated the cycle endangering her children. If you want this to not happen then you need to admit that and let people know to LEAVE abusive relationships.
My sister kept going back to her abusive x but we helped her even though we were sick of the whole yoyo game. She finally permanently kicked him to the curb after nine years. Thank heavens!
Exactly the same happened to my sister and I’m so happy she moved away after years of abuse and going back to her husband. It’s not easy to move on, especially when kids are involved, sometimes it’s frustrating as someone looking from the side, but the only chance for victims to escape is having a family that is there for them.
Some people become deranged and turn to killing. Not every relationship ends in a murder, but many do. This man should have just walk away, but he's a deranged monster. He can't reason with reality. I was worried he would hurt the children. I wouldn't care if he killed himself, but he's a coward.
The average abuse victim leaves 7 times before finally leaving for good. Also you have to consider that if an abusive person is going to kill you they're more likely to do it within the first 3 months of you leaving them. It's a very complicated dynamic 😞 You're amazing for sticking by your sister 🙏💗
Missing 53 days at Christmas time and no one close to her reported her missing.. Why didn't police comb through the house with a forensic crew immediately ? Family, friends and police let her down, so tragic, so sad...
Abusers isolate you from your family and friends. You're frightened to call them lest the abuser catch you saying something they disapprove of, and will punish you for. You're also embarrassed about the situation. It's not unusual for abused spouses not to see or speak to friends or family for months or years at a time. And when you do speak to them, you are very chirpy and report all good things.
Police should have done a DNA on the bath and all over the bathroom even the cop said he killed her and it would have been in the house. Family didn’t let her down she kept taking him back and they had enough but they didn’t think this would be the outcome.
“I wouldn’t piss on her if she was on fire”?! This guy is NUTS. Even if your angry I feel like an innocent man wouldn’t say that about the mother of his kids.
That comment was infuriating. The nerve he has to say anything disparaging about the mother of his child - the woman he murdered - is disgusting to the point of being nauseating.
Yes he's guilty as sin. But I can honestly say without hesitation that if my ex husband was on fire I wouldn't piss on him to put him out and yeah he's the father of my children. He's an abusive POS. So yes.... innocent people will and can say it too. In would be more telling if he had nothing but good to say about her after he claimed she abandoned him and the kids and all this was a result. That was not an honest reaction but a calculated show of just the right amount of anger and indignation over her "leaving him, vanishing and leaving him to clean up the mess". His lies were "I just want to see her again". That was the most telling statement. That and him putting his nose in the media.
You notice that smirk constantly on his face? It's called "duping delight". Research it - it will surprise you. This man exudes guilt in his every expression.
Elliot should've gotten way more than 7 years in my opinion. HE HELPED HIS BROTHER BURY THE BODY PARTS OF ANOTHER HUMAN BEING AND SAID NOTHING FOR OVER A YEAR ONLY SEVEN YEARS ARE YOU KIDDING?!
Absolutely heart wrenching. The sweet child singing at the end has me crying like a baby. The ripple effect of interpersonal violence is as sickening as the abuse itself.
Agreed! They are the purest form . If they kill they kill its for survival or food...and if they deceive it for those reasons alone. Never compare a narcissistic killer to an animal.
They had no proof then. No body, no death! Go figure??? However, you never know if someone really is innocent. Of course this guy wasn't!! Glad he was caught! Psychopath for sure. How He took care of the children is beyond me. Such EVIL! 4/14/19
I hope the children don't remember him now they are older. Last I heard anything about them, Lyndsey's parents had taken them on. And I hope he's ereased from their memories and they had a happy upbringing with their grandparents.
Makes me frightened for the children as well.......Ik if tht happened to me as a kid I’d grow up wondering “am I going to be a monster too just like my daddy??” 😿
She was reported missing 53 days later not by her husband, nor her friends, nor her family, so sad this poor girl was let down by everyone I can see why she felt lonely. 😔
Well the husbands story is that she left him which allows him to not look suspicious for not reporting her missing... because if she’s left him then to him she’s not missing she’s just gone… Which is a pretty smart way to set it up.... too bad he’s a ducking MORON
We don't know how close she was to her family (How often she spoke to them) some children after they move out don't talk to family for months. So he family is understandable however he should have reported her missing. Although him killing and chopping her body up i doubt he wanted the police involved so soon. Good thing they put him and his brother away for what they done.
Wow, so heart breaking! I know it's been over 21 years and her children are adults but my heart still goes out to them. She was so very beautiful. Domestic violence is an issue all over this planet. Hold your family members close and no matter what stay in contact and look for the signs. There are always signs..
Lynsey's Dad is 1 million times more a man than Mitch. I was moved by his non stop search for her. The images of him standing in the distance looking at the cross over the ground were Mitch buried part of her body was heartbreaking. His final words about just wanting to see her again when he gets to heaven and hear her call him Pop was also emotionally difficult because his unconditional love for her just rang out. God bless him, his wife, the children and all those who loved her.
Her sister's words should be a wake up call to us all "we lost something that we were not really taking care of at the time". I believe she isolated herself from her family, no doubt because of him, I am sure her family were frustrated with her for constantly going back to him after all the abuse. However, knowing that, they and her friends should not have abandoned her, 53 days? Ffs.
I doubt she 'isolated herself', but I think you refer to that when you say it's because of him. An abuser wants complete control, and one of the first thing they do is to try and isolate the victim from family and friends. They can also threaten to kill family or friends, especially if they help the victim or give them advice to leave. It's heartbreaking because she was desperate; the police or the family should have linked her to domestic violence services. It may not have ultimately saved her, but at least she would have known she had options and wasn't alone.
I can see the "isolating herself", I've done it myself. People are supportive when they hear someone is in an abusive relationship, but they quickly loose patience when someone goes back - it's difficult for someone who hasn't been in the situation to understand. When looking at it logically, it's all clear, but when emotion, manipulation, fear, guilt etc is involved, you see how people can be twisted up and go back. If you know anyone in such a position, try and be supportive but don't loose patience if it's a "two steps forward, one back" experience for a time.
That anonymous call he received calling him “ The Devil” was spot on.. He was a soul less Evil man. I knew she would never leave her precious babies before Christmas. I’m glad the children are being raised by their grandparents. Linsey’s Father was a very brave and strong man, to face that monster he knew killed his daughter. That took an incredible amount of restraint and courage that had to be so difficult to do. His love for grandchildren and his daughter is probably what gave him the strength to face that monster. The killer’s evil smirk and cockiness made me want to smash that evil smirk off his face. I could only imagine how her father, brother and mother felt. My prayers for this family.
I wouldn’t of had that patience with him. As a father I would have found a way to get the answers out of him during that time. Being so obvious I would of had him by the balls the night she went missing
1. He's a psychopath. 2. Life should actually mean life. There is no country on this planet where the longevity is 17 years. Stop pretending that it's life when it's a fifth. 3. He intentionally inflicted emotional distress on that family for years. Was that not taken into consideration? The abuse, murder and dismemberment is only the tip of the iceberg here. Multiple charges to run consecutively could have given him more than 17 years, could it not? How does that work in GB? He dismembered her body, called it a carcass, mocked the victim's father and taunted law enforcement. That's a guy that will kill again if given the opportunity. Doesn't society deserve to be protected from him?
Arya's Kill List Our so called justice system is very dodgy indeed. I always say the USA know how to convict people (apart from OJ) but over here you can do the most gruesome of things and still see your freedom beckoning. Would these people act on their urges if they didn't receive the publicity or if they got the death penalty? Our prison system doesn't help these people with their clear mental issues they just pack them together with other likeminded individuals and then go on to do worse once released. They favour nonces with their own little wings and by saying they have a duty of care to all prisoners when prisoners who aren't nonces are beaten daily. But Mitchel has just recently been denied parole after a petition set up by the daughter robin. The sentence is up now and I really hope they don't eventually allow him parole. I've got a brother in jail who made a silly mistake one night, a fight nothing of this degree of course and he's been put on a thing called EPP (extended public protection) So shouldn't that he saved for individuals like this?
Arya's Kill List he has received a life sentence in theory he could be in for life but in his case he's considered for parole after 17 years but there's no saying he will be released then but he will probably at least serve 25 years
Strangeways - At least the British Police clear up murders (90%+) vs 60-70% clear up rate in US. As for acting on impulses in the face of the death penalty - that doesn't seem to work either as the US murder rate is 4 times the UK murder rate. A life sentence does last for life, Mitchell Quy may never be paroled. If he is he will be released on licence, any infractions of his conditions will see him back in jail. I doubt your brother got EPP'd for a first offence, unless it was particularly brutal.
I can't say of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if he got about the same somewhere in the US. You say murder but did they manage to prove anything beyond homicide? (I don't see how). And he got 17 yrs to life, not just 17 years. I hope he never gets out. Don't get me wrong, if he falls in a ditch and breaks his neck I'll drink to that. I'm just saying that maybe what we believe (and I do believe he murdered her and is a full blown psychopath) isn't that easy to prove in a court of law.
True... My mom talks to me every other day...daily when I work overnight shifts... And she would be uneasy not hearing from in a week much more 50 days... I am sure the family feel some guilt but they are also victims of that narcissistic!
@@michaelcarstairs2948 That's not really how it works. She will also have kept them away, trying to diffuse situation, or explain things away. Telling them he is different this time. Their daughter points to a picture of her mom and asks, "who's Lindsay?" As Mitchell laughingly reads a newspaper clip of story about his missing wife. He is so self absorbed he didn't even acknowledge this poor child, what a terrible man.
when the interviewer asked him how he'd feel if her body was found...and he said "gutted". he immediately regretted the choice of words and in that moment he flashed back to the act. he was visibly agitated by it. he began to squirm, fidget and try to shake it off. very telling moment.
That this father spoke like he did in front of the kids was appalling. That she was so close to getting away from this monster. Families don't turn your backs on people being abused.
anastasiagirl1342 ~Especially of Robin- he wasn't even the biological father. Unless he adopted her-? Laws are different in the UK anyway, so I'm not sure. Heartbreaking story
I thought same thing and the oldest child was not even his.this told me that her and her family were not that close which probably made it easier for this killer to get away with it for so long
That he can smile and laugh like that shows what a psychopath/sociopath he is. That he kept making 95 percent of his comments about himself shows what a narcissist he is. That he caved an hour after being charged shows what a weak, sniveling little coward he is. Hopefully, he experiences the terror he inflicted until his last miserable second on earth.
@@jimbeller7948 He most likely has antisocial personality disorder, he is socially irresponsible, impulsive, quick to anger and abusive, unable to maintain monogamous relationships, charming in order to exploit his victims, blames his victims for what he did to them, exudes superiority, lacks empathy and remorse, displays criminal behavior etc. He should probably be qualified as a sociopath rather than a psychopath because he broke down after he realized they got him.
@@diamonds5457 The point is that the symptoms you mention like impulsiveness and arrogance are also associated with antisocial personality disorder, what differentiates between them is that antisocial people are reckless while sociopaths are risk averse.
I know how Linsey felt. Being stuck in an abusive relationship. I was very lucky. When I finally asked my father for help he said he would but I had to promise him I wouldn’t go back to him. Even though that was extremely difficult at times I kept my word. My father helped me through my divorce. I have a strong feeling that had I left my husband and didn’t have my dads protection, I’d be dead. I know for a fact he had the ability and temper to kill me. My husband and I also got engaged really fast, within a few weeks and got married just 4 months after meeting. I remember right before my dad walked me down the isle I told him “I think I’m going to throw up”…. I think secretly I was hoping my dad would call the wedding off. It’s very sad her family didn’t realize how dangerous her situation was.
God bless your father. He truly loves you. This girl's family didn't love her... I speak from experience. Being in an abusive relationship also reveals who your true friends/ family are.
Meredith Hammett the thing is, her family had a falling out with her thanks to him because she kept going back, that was apparently intentional on his part because he could up the abuse after that because she had nowhere to go, even for a couple of days. I agree, it is a long time but if they were going for long periods without talking then a couple of months wouldn't seem that long.
@@warialdasue after having the please help me note, yes, sad. they'll never forgive themselves. but don't ever mistake that it was Mitchell that killed Lindsay. not her family
He has some narcissistic traits but it's more likely he has antisocial personality disorder than narcissistic personality disorder, or perhaps he's a malignant narcissist (kind of a cross breed between the former two with paranoia mixed in for good measure). What's most typical about him in my opinion is his recklessness, for instance by inviting the the press into his life to manipulate and use them in his fight against the police (by which he ran a considerable risk of talking too much while being recorded), or by calling the police and asking them if he was still a suspect, or last but not least by telling his children that their mother was dead and making them not tell anybody else (probably when they annoyed him by asking for her). Narcissists generally aren't that reckless but tend to avoid personal risks.
@@JerehmiaBoaz Or he could be a hybrid of both. It's definitely the haughtiness, arrogance, and victim mentality. They often have this sense of entitlement that they're above the law, and nothing is ever their fault. Usually, they find ways of blame-shifting to escape accountability. It is extremely rare that a pure narcissist will actually kill someone. I agree, he has a mix of traits from the Dark Triad which contains psychopathy, narcissism, and Machiavellianism. Also, married after 5 weeks? very often narcissists will try and lock somebody down as soon as possible so they can let their mask drop. It's difficult for them to maintain that mask for extended periods of time.
@@theguynextdoor4978 The hybrid of narcissistic and antisocial personality disorder is called "malignant narcissism" (as I mentioned in my previous post) but it's usually accompanied with paranoia and I see no signs of that. Rather to the contrary, a paranoid person would never call the police to ask if they are still suspecting him (because to a paranoid mind of course they are and calling them would attract more of their unwanted attention).
Here's a regardless that I have an uneducated opinion on...a narcissist and a Cho Mo cannot change. Because they BELIEVE they r doing nothing wrong. Their illness is so grave that there is no conscious. To live, they feed off of the weak, they r like a wolf that hasn't eaten, but comes across a dying deer. They can't believe they r ill. Him saying "leaving me to do this and looking after the kids. I piss on her shoe if it were on fire" right there is a statement that someone who is not grieving and no remorse is absolutely guilty! All he cares is about himself.
Any normal person when asked if they murdered someone will vehemently deny or at the very least say NO! For him to say “I’m not going to answer that” is the weirdest thing in the world?! What a beautiful young woman that was cruelly denied the chance to be a mother to her children. It’s heartbreaking.
Taylor Reid erm no! The poor poor woman did not deserve to die but she failed herself massively. What did u expect people to do? Tie her up force her not to go back? No only did she fail herself she put her children massively at risk. It's not so easy to leave am abusive partner. They threaten everyone you love which makes it even worse plus I bet he ground her down so she felt like was nothing and thats all she would ever be etc.
Agreed, she needed support and a safe haven, welfare check ups and a caseworker to give her the tools to raise her children and gain her independence and self esteem. Pregnant at 17 and low class family......well that speaks volumes of how her mind would of worked.
One of my best girlfriends was murdered by her husband in Houston Texas December 1st 2008, two weeks after having her 3rd child. Her kids to this day know nothing of her even though her husband has been in prison and I hope he can never hurt anyone again and should never get released.

First they said she went missing on Christmas Eve, then they say the last time she was seen was on Dec.15th. So why didn't they try to at least call on Christmas day, if not to talk to her the to at least talk to the children?? I'll tell you what...if my daughter disappeared and I thought my son-in-law killed her, I'd be taking him to court to get custody of the children, especially Robin since she's not his child.
Where is robins father to take care of her and keep her safe and the little beautiful boy go to grandparents .!!?? Ummm 🤔 such a tragic loss. RIP Lynsey ❤️🌹 always be remembered ‼️‼️❤️❤️ big lessons need to be learnt here by government ‼️‼️👏🏻
Her family DID try to call on Christmas. Mitch even went to their house to collect presents for the kids. He told her parents that she showed up drunk on Christmas morning and went straight to sleep and then woke up and left again. They reiterated that point more than once in this documentary.
If my sister gave me a note saying help me, I would help her even if I hated her guts. How heartless to do nothing to help, they all just got on with their lives. It's too late now, where were you when she risked her life to write that note.
I help people who aren't my sister - unbelievably cold behaviour by all her family - they are to blame why she didn't have higher self esteem to keep him out of her life. She said she was lonely and there are 5/6 siblings and parents - that's so tragic poor woman. The mother was so heartless and quick to blame her friends for not going around - she was their flesh and blood and that should be priority. Hate the mother so selfish.
I think it is so difficult for family and friends, when a young girl repeatedly takes back into her life, an abusive partner. Her family and friends obviously tried to help her but when she kept allowing this man back into her life, they gave up and kept their distance. Terribly sad but understandable.
I'm glad you thought the same because that's exactly what I said. Thank god he didn't get away with it,he must be made of pure evil to be able to just keep telling lie after lie..
And yet after all that and her begging them for help, her own family did nothing and didn't even report her missing!! That's disgusting, that poor girl was so alone!!
She got pregnant at 17, got engaged, blew it off, met her future husband, and it was a whirlwind marriage, they did not date long. so her parents were O.K. with her being married off in a hurry, she was still a minor, her parents had to give her permission. Likely in the hope she would have someone to support her, so they would not need to. But it would have been good to advise her on birth control, and take a little time to find out how her future husband rolls. And she got one more child, marriage did not go well and then she got pregnant again, but had an abortion. Then they separated, came back together ..... and she wanted another child. Mother makes it look as if they had a good and relaxed relationship - so what about some good advice ?? JeeZ !
I feel for the family, but I have somewhat of a difficult time with the fact that they saw that note for help and didn't help or respond, didn't tell law enforcement, and then didn't report her missing. At CHRISTMAS no less. In fact, two months on, still hadn't reported her missing. I have difficulty understanding it.
I think if I was the sister and she had slipped me that note, I would not have let her out of my sight. If she didn’t get out of the house with the kids and come with me, I would move in and stay with her. For that note to be written, you know the person is desperate.
exactly, like i tried to empathize with the family but i just cant bring my mind to it.. they had the opportunity to save her however they just ignored it
Absolutely! he would kill and cut up the body again. Throw them in the trash. Somewhere out there are several women who escaped his wrath. Narcissists go from relationship to relationship. Often they have secret trysts and girlfriends on the side. They love to dupe others, then when she finds out, they flaunt it in her facel. I barely made it out of a relationship like this. 22 yrs ago. Never dated again! Focus on family instead.
I hope not too. They should be told the truth about what he did too and not be living with his family either, so he can have no relationship with them if he gets out. Their mother can never have a relationship with them because of that POS.
Without his confession he'd have gotten away scot free. It's scary. Asking if the press was there. Jesus. "The carcass" he's evil. Her parents need to be thanking God that he didn't murder her babies. I was in such a similar situation, it's terrifying. I would lay my head down in bed some nights & honest wonder, "is he going to kill me? "Will tonight be the night?" I pray for her babies. 1 more thing-- this is a (hard) lesson learned. Parents, even with adult children, TOUCH BASE WITH THEM REGULARLY
@K, U aren’t a KILLA Are you really about putting the victim down!!! Wow! First off, EVERYONE'S made some wrong/bad decisions throughout life. And he did leave her a couple times, to go sleep around, which is whatever. Doesn't matter who should've left who... he literally murdered her & chopped her body parts off!! Sumiya 8888 I've never understood the families and friends who leave people because they believe that they're in an abusive relation, like it doesn't help anyone.
@@TheGalacticEmperorOfLabels what, like the two women a week in the UK murdered by ex or current partner? Do you think domestic violence is something victims enjoy? Creep.

He killed her but her family let her down and should of gone and got her. If someone gives me a note and it says help me, I’ll do just that. She felt lost, lonely and sad and she died knowing that she had no support from no one. So sorry Lynsey, If I was a friend of yours I would of helped you do doubt about that. 😪
While I more or less agree with you, I'm sure they didn't know how bad it was and now they live with their guilt. I think maybe they got tired of her constant comings and goings with him and perhaps felt that as long as she wasn't just packing her bags and filing for divorce, they were just enabling. Again I agree with you, but I don't see them not caring, I think maybe they just made a terrible decision.
Imagine her family reading these vile comments. If you paid attention you would know that everyone feared and detested Mitchell, yet she still decided to come back to him multiple times. You can’t blame them too much, not every family is tight knit, and hindsight is always 20/20.
Dyonalex Yes but the day Lindsey gave her sister the note begging for help she had just told her sister on their way home that she needed help, that she couldn’t get him out of the house. Lindsey was crying out for help and they just ignored it! How do u do that to your sister? How do you do that to your daughter?
I have been seeking out stories like this in an attempt to understand domestic violence as its ugly claws have entered our lives unexpectedly. The intricacies & beautiful victims, families, friends in these stories are different, but I'm learning that the perpetrators & their behaviors are very similar. I'm trying to take all of the direct & indirect advice from the families & law enforcement in these accounts. Thank you to the family & LE for portraying Lindsay's story. I'm trying my best to be the best mom I can be & support our daughter & any other women in these desperate situations.
"The police are interviewing everyone that I ever slept with..." Yeah its their job. Its a crime investigation. If you don't want to be investigated, then don't kill your wife! Saying, she ran-off and left the kids behind is the oldest trick in the book. And, it says "I did it."
Like them finding a better man or wanting a new life would stop them from contacting their friends & family & children. These men recycle the same lies when they kill as they do when they cheat. smh
@@mike67able When I heard him near the end of the docu, when he was saying "The fact that your sister's been murdered, it's just something you can't live with.." The first thing I thought was this guy's going to commit suicide. Creepy to read that he has now.

I see the British judicial system is the same here in Canada where "life in prison" is not really life. 17 years? Please. He should be locked away and the key thrown away. And life should mean you leave the prison in a pine box. 😡
Joey byrne Hopefully it's for the rest of his life! I'm not sure about the British system but the only way someone can be kept in prison until death for a life sentence (25 years) here in Canada is to be deemed a "dangerous offender". Given our ties with the British maybe they have the same law as us.
Rock Ripper 20 years for murdering his kids mother?! Or for any human being for that matter?! Life should mean life. No if's. No but's. No maybes. He should spend the rest of his days in solitary confinement, staring at 4 walls, & take his last breath in those 4 walls. Since we don't have the death penalty here that's the LEAST he deserves. He is a danger - & always will be a danger - to society & other women. Heaven forbid he ever gets back in contact with those children. I hope they know what type of monster he is & stay well away. He's scum & 20 years is 2 years less than what that young girls age was! Less than her age!
In the UK life does actually mean life, it's just the stated sentencing period (like 15, 20, 25, 30 years, etc) is the minimum sentence they MUST serve before being considered for parole, but that is only considered parole, parole is not automatic for most sentences, especially not for life sentences, and the only way to get out of prison is too convince of parole board over many weeks/months. In allot of these older cases like this one the defendants where sentenced before the Criminal Justice Act 2003 came in to force, which sets out allot of things and has toughened up provisions. This includes adding "starting points" for judges when sentencing murderers. Currently those starting points are, minimum of 15 years for general cases of murder with no aggravating or mitigating factors, minimum 25 years for using or possessing a melee type if weapon (like a knife or bat) during a murder, minimum 30 years for using a firearm or explosive to commit a murder, and Whole life without parole for very exceptional cases, like for the murder of a police officer, the murder of two or more people, the murder of a young child, etc. If the murder in this case had happened today the guy would of gotten more then 17 years minimum. Even with mitigating factors this guy would be looking at 20 years minimum, but realistically 25-30 years due to covering it up, lying to police, etc.
It was all very telling. The abortion the smashed up house the neighbour saying she ran down the street, the amount of times she left him. That gave them ample opportunities to get her away from an obvious toxic situation. But then they've had to live with that guilt. I have just read in another comment the brother committed suicide in the end. :(
56 DAYS!!!!!! Missing for 56 days, and onky reported missing by a concerned social worker? I used to think that the British were a bit more intelligent than us American loggerheads. But, I think I might have been mistaken!

What a FOOL Mitchell was to confess. This was apparently a !00% circumstantial evidence case and he had a VERY Good chance of being acquitted. Given what a Flake the wife was, it wouldn't have been difficult to convince a jury that she did just take off to a new life. i feel bad for her, her friends gave up on her, making her feel like it was her fault. for taking him back but thats how abusers work, get their one to single out from love ones.
Jo Ross She had a responsibility to look after herself cuz she had kids but she went back to her abuser. How is that okay? She was selfish cuz she was thinking only about her feelings for the abuser. Too many people like you only look at one side of the story. She left once but went back. That is stupid. I know what you are going to say so don't bother replying. I've heard it all before.
I suggest you watch "Killed By My Boyfriend". Abusers know how to manipulate and make you feel like you don't deserve better and they're the only ones who care about you. It is sad but it is never as simple as that.
Those poor children, when they started to sing at the end that broke my heart, I hope they are leading a normal life, as normal as it can be for them !
When her little girl pointed to the picture of her mum and said “there’s Lindsay” was heartbreaking. I only hope she grows in to a beautiful young women like her mum was.
Scarlet Rodger she has turned into a beautiful young lady who has a husband and two children, she has pretty much blocked solely on her own Mitchell Quy’s parole hearings for the past few years, she has fought for him not to be transferred to a open prison where he would of probably been able to be paroled ( open prison transfers normally results in parole) I have signed the petition’s to help stop Quy from gaining parole, he is without a doubt pure evil !! The sentence he received was a joke if ever there was a candidate for capital punishment by hanging it would be Quy !! 17 years in nothing, it’s a kick in the teeth to her family, for a start off what he inflicted on them was horrendous and they never found all her body which in itself should carry a life without parole at the very least, what a utter scum bag Quy is and her poor brother hung himself because he couldn’t cope with what happened to her, Rest in Love Angels
Her children singing at the end is the perfect way to wrap up this sad story! She was an absolutely beautiful girl and loving me 💕 this family is so beautiful

I am so sorry. I am not trying to be sexist but men! oh men!!!
Evidence shows that consciousness continues after the death of the body. Were you aware of this?
Awww the little girl told her mom's picture goodnight. That really broke my heart. I can imagine she was probably just waiting for her mom's return and had no idea she was gone. I feel so sorry for the children😞
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if your child keeps going back to their abuser, the appropriate response is never punishment. Giving them the silent treatment may kill them. While her husband has the ultimate blame here, her family saw red flags and did nothing. Didn’t even report her missing. Since her brother died by suicide after this, her parents lost two children.
What ? Her brother died of suicide 😢 how ? When ?
@@fredrickochieng4850 her brother Peter hung himself after the trial of Lynsey's murderer (Mitchell) in 2001. Very sad indeed
I can't imagine how she felt wondering why help wasn't coming. It just breaks my heart.
Hayley Turner : They won't simply they are the kind of family nobody needs. Some families are that way, for many different reasons, but if anybody ,relative or not, ask for help that way, any decent person (let alone relatives) will help, somehow.
She knew she was in an abusive relationship and kept going back. Why do you not blame her for putting her and the kids in that situation?

People who are abused often develop Stockholm’s syndrome.
thank you for not giving up on your sister! one less female with an abusive man! 🙏
The average abuse victim leaves 7 times before finally leaving for good. Also you have to consider that if an abusive person is going to kill you they're more likely to do it within the first 3 months of you leaving them. It's a very complicated dynamic 😞 You're amazing for sticking by your sister 🙏💗

Family, friends and police let her down, so tragic, so sad...
Because they're all white trash. Jeez, I could use subtitles for this one.
Her daughter Robin is such a beautiful little ginger!
His attitude is smug and condescending. Hes hardly a grieving husband. That's my initial view of him. He gives me the creeps just hearing him talk.
“I wouldn’t piss on her if she was on fire”?!
This guy is NUTS. Even if your angry I feel like an innocent man wouldn’t say that about the mother of his kids.
The only time he told the truth in the whole thing. 😢
That comment was infuriating. The nerve he has to say anything disparaging about the mother of his child - the woman he murdered - is disgusting to the point of being nauseating.
And is that how he killed her by burning?
Very telling.
Research it - it will

Thanks for clarifying. People often just hear what they want to hear.

@Rachel F *Lynsey
O ok
Don’t be so quick to praise her father! He lived very close to Lynsey & he didn’t even know she had been missing for 53 days!
Her family ignored her pleas for help. They all failed her.
They found her body!!?
“Why would I tell her parents she was missing?” Uhm... idk... cause... it’s her parents...?????
I loled and then felt guilty afterwards..
Look at how Mitchell just smiles through this! Sick!
God Bless her soul!

Windbag.
I can't believe the family had no contact that long, knowing she was abused.
True... My mom talks to me every other day...daily when I work overnight shifts... And she would be uneasy not hearing from in a week much more 50 days... I am sure the family feel some guilt but they are also victims of that narcissistic!

Wow! 1979Misty good eye.
1979BMisty .
Thank goodness we have pinpoint perceptive people such as yourself, well done .

Aye! Gutted that her body was found, and thats it!
The fact that he felt guilt says a lot.
That this father spoke like he did in front of the kids was appalling. That she was so close to getting away from this monster. Families don't turn your backs on people being abused.
Families should not but some families do it. It’s so heartbreaking.
The fact that this man still had custody of Lyndsay's children was absolutely horrifying to me. How did he still have custody?!

I know. Awesome comment from Mitch. What a guy.
It can happen to be fair you can shag someone to death just dont stop
Wow just wow. He is literally smiling and laughing throughout. How obvious is it even without evidence that he killed her.
Criminals are generally idiots, and they think they're fooling everybody... But they're not
That he can smile and laugh like that shows what a psychopath/sociopath he is. That he kept making 95 percent of his comments about himself shows what a narcissist he is. That he caved an hour after being charged shows what a weak, sniveling little coward he is. Hopefully, he experiences the terror he inflicted until his last miserable second on earth.

During the interview he said " her remains."
Really sad that a social worker was the one who blew the whistle, and not her actual family.

Stay away from narcissists! They shower you with compliments when you first meet them. It is deceitful. As tempting as it is, don't fall for it!
They have collateral damage for generations.
It shouldn't be temping to begin with.

Then they separated, came back together ..... and she wanted another child.

sopranomegansaunders he's just finished he's 17 year term but was denied parole, how much longer he'll serve I don't know but longer the better
Joey byrne Hopefully it's for the rest of his life! I'm not sure about the British system but the only way someone can be kept in prison until death for a life sentence (25 years) here in Canada is to be deemed a "dangerous offender". Given our ties with the British maybe they have the same law as us.
A lot of humans don't live a full life term so 20 years he's already served is life already in a way.

They didn't notice there daughter was gone for 2 months, God, if my mam hadn't heard from me for 1 hour she would start a god damn man hunt
Matthew Maddis n Same! They'd have been onto the police within an hour...especially if they'd have known of his previous abuse.
Ye mammy's boy, ye. How dare ye come oan here, talkin pish.
She would find you at my house
Absolutely heartbreaking. Her family lives with guilt for not doing more for her while the actual guilty monster only regrets getting caught.
Everyone failed this lady
Most true comment I have read yet!!!😪
Thank you! That's exactly what I said. Everybody! Especially her family. How can you not report your daughter missing after 53 days. Just so disappointing 😢😔
@Fail Zero that's what you call love I think,, & when your a normal person sometimes you just don't realise that the other person isn't thinking the same way .& most times eventually when you find out they don't normal people can just separate normally without problems,, unfortunately that's the moment when you find out someone isn't one of the normal people & this poor girl wasn't 1st person ever to let someone back into her life who turned out to be a wrong choice,
@Fail Zero well.. don't we all making mistakes.. and not only once. The reason - connection,feelings,future.. for kids, for yourself, etc.Have you never experienced the urge to be in control to make things better ..
And her kids. So tragically devastating....
Freudian slip..."I'm the only one who knows the truth ."
He also said, "I'm the one who was there... Here." Too bad little fool, you didn't catch Yourself fast enough. You were there.
Yasssssss omg
What a FOOL Mitchell was to confess. This was apparently a !00% circumstantial evidence case and he had a VERY Good chance of being acquitted. Given what a Flake the wife was, it wouldn't have been difficult to convince a jury that she did just take off to a new life. All her "cries for help" could've been twisted at trial to show how desperate she was to get away, to run away. After months of BS to the media, he just rolls over and confesses ? What a waste of an award winning performance !!! ... jkulik919@gmail.com
He think he is so intelligent, but his body language, his way of speaking tells us all. It is crystal clear.
And that pathetic smug smirk he had the whole time!
Don't need body language.....hes as thick as two bricks.
A narcissist but unfortunately for him a dumb one
Anna ,...
I’m interested to hear what body language tipped you off? I’m not being sarcastic ~ I genuinely want to learn...........
Her family broke the number rule with knowing she was in an abusive relationship: *cutting off all communication with her!*
You always check on that family member… ALWAYS!
Ooohh I reeeaally hate that guy. My skin crawls just listening to him...
Me too!
Poor girl. Imagine going missing for 53 days and it takes a stranger to do the right thing. She was surrounded by mindless trailer trash. Yeah, I said it.
The only trailer trash I see here, is her husband!
she said she had no one to support her and thats why she had him back.....how sad
@@susierob293 I don't think she wanted support til the end-she wanted that guy
What? Domestic violence & murder happen everywhere.
harvey2609, Good for you. Call a spade a spade. I agree with you, sadly. They certainly don't come off as decent folks, in my opinion.
The fact Xmas day her father said we left them to get on with it. Wow. No wonder she ran into the arms of anyone who said I love you ....
I’ve been crying throughout but the boy singing at the end has me sobbing. This poor woman, and her babies 💔❤️🩹
i feel bad for her, her friends gave up on her, making her feel like it was her fault. for taking him back but thats how abusers work, get their one to single out from love ones.
She made a decision. If it's not her fault, who's fault was it? Stupid people will die a stupid way. I just love natural selection so much.
Desmond Low She was trying to be free of him. That's why he murdered her. What a wicked comment.
Desmond Low Whose fault was it is a stupid question. The murderers' fault of course. You aren't so bright yourself!
I think he may well be the most guilty looking person I've ever seen in my entire life
It's like he couldn't help it because the prospect of getting away with it was too pleasing.
