@@fluchfrei4486 - If he believes in the Christian god and Christ and all that, then he's a Christian. It's as simple as that. There are good people who are Christians, and there are bad people who are Christians. Same with Muslims, Jews, atheists and everyone else.
"Sin" is a purely religious concept and has no bearing on the real world. What *you* as a Christian may consider a sin, I as an atheist do not.

When I got into my teens I became atheist due to it. But than the Lord showed me who he was . To not look at man but look at him. I'm so glad these pastors get exposed

My husbands cousin is a preacher & he is very charismatic. I don’t trust him & don’t like even being around him. My brother worked at our parent’s church. This man was so abusive to my brother & found out that he was also abusive to his children. My brother did not tell anyone about the ministers until the minister left the church. My folks were just devastated. My mother didn’t want to believe it. The moment I met this preacher, I felt a really bad vibe from this guy. And after my brother told our folks, they believed him because he wouldn’t lie about something like that. Mom was always seeing the good in people. She was betrayed. And my dad was also. They were shocked. And then started to look for a new pastor. It took them 2 yrs.
Just because a person is a man of god, it doesn’t mean he is a good person. These parishioners have to be careful. They want to believe so badly that these people who say they are so good, they are manipulators & sociopaths. A church full of kind hearted folks, is a perfect place for evil to slowly grow & gain control. I don’t need to go into a church to get a dose of good. I take a walk in the woods.

A sad cautionary tale about how badly an abusive relationship can end. I hope those, especially Christians who encourage women to 'endure and pray' realise how easily they can get blood on their hands. Anyone can be gifted. The real thing is to look at their character. That detective was ace! Glad justice was served.
This is also a good lesson in the value of discernment. The church board should never have hired him without a complete background check. The fact that he kept making excuses over missing information should have set alarm bells ringing.

He had just delivered his sermon when he looked out a window and saw his mistress in the Mercedes with a other man. He lost it! He forgot his microphone was still on and talking to himself he said ti himself: "Look at that "B...." driving up here in a car with some "N...." that I done bought! The whole congregation heard him. Mic was on. Many left that church. Happened in Jackson, Ms.

He was eventually found to be molesting his little adopted daughter. Eventually he agreed to never preach again to get a plea deal.
Coveteousness is an American sin so prevalent that churches forsake warning about how deadly it is. In fact, they preach in a way that encourages coveteousness.

@@annmariebarratt4213 I have learned about codependency. I remain married to a man that was a taker. I had a great deal of money and he was essentially broke. We do things for various reasons. Since that time in my life I've realized I am the one swooping into rescue men. It doesn't matter how successful they are, I have plenty of money. And deviance are happy to enjoy the spoils.
Codependency is not born out of desperation on the part of the codependent.. Successful and accomplished women or men , can be codependent.

When I was a kid, my pastor would come over to our house. I knew he wanted my mom because every time we would have a foot washing ceremony at our church, he always wanted my mom to do it. Every time, he came over all of us kids would sit in the room with them. He stopped coming by after he figured out that we knew what he was trying to do. He was married with 5 or 6 kids.

I grew up in the Church of God as a little kid. All my problems with how God's Word is taught comes from that church. We were taught to be scared of Satan because he was waiting right outside of the church doors and to be scared of God because he was itching to strike us down. As an adult and a Christian I don't teach my children to be scared of God but to have fear of him and to do what is right.

I have uncovered so many things that have been put limits upon us and restricted us from knowing who we truly are.
