Santana's music is perfect for me. That's why I picked up a guitar again a few years ago, and I still enjoy playing Santana's riffs.

Marty, I don't care what other people say, but you're the coolest dude of all.
Keep up the good work. Your teaching helped me very much to mimic the cool sounds by the original artists. Thanks Marty.

Hi Marty I’m talking to you from 11 years in the future. You’re still going to be teaching guitar so you’ll be just a little older looking but everything will be pretty much normal and everything will be OK. You’re going to have millions of followers and be pretty successful as a guitar instructor UA-camr. Just letting you know.

Thanks Marty. Love your positive attitude and desire to help guitarists grow. Theguitarists that want to nit-pick theory generally sit in their bedrooms because they're paralyzed with fear to play before an audience. Keep doing what you do.

@CODCODGUY first, I'm so sorry you haven't heard of Santana, second, I always do a mix of tunes, for instance, Adele, Janes Addiction, Pearl Jam, all just in the last few days, none of which are blues? yes i will teach more blues than metal because that's who I am, I will always mix it up though. take care,
    marty

We grew up playing this in brass band, and although my acoustic is getting terrifically great, I think I'll just enjoy smashing Oye on trombone though
I just thank you again for putting these things out there, 'cause it has given me a new take on 6-strings which has me up and playing SOOOOO MUCH EASIER THAN EVERY OTHER TIME I HAVE TRIED!

Awesome lesson, and seriously one of my favourite Santana song, this and Soul Sacrifice from Woodstock to me are probably some of the bast Santana songs.
The chord structure was simple, but the licks were quite outside the box, and just awesome licks for the arsenal, thanks!!

    Marvelous lesson indeed Mr. Schwartz.
I hope you don't mind if I ask you but... I'm just wondering... Is the Les Paul traditional that you're playing by any lucky chance good for playing jazz as well?
I know perfectly well that a 335 style is more suitable, but I happen to be quite keen on the LP trad in particular. I usually play blues where, I understand, a Les Paul should be more than "at home" but from time to time I find myself wondering around in the jazz zone...
    Thank's for your time
