Muchas gracias ~ you took me down the path I have ignored for decades, ha, ha. I loved it. Signed, an old guitarist that only played part of the licks as I enjoyed singing the song. JP
of all the thousands of youtube guitar lessons this one is one of my favorites! Very well done! You're a very good teacher, I appreciate the way you break everything down. Hope you do more lessons!
What an incredible lesson! I am just getting to understand Modes 2-5and breaking the over reliance on strict Ionian /Aeoan usage. This lesson slows it down to get to understand the Dorian Mode… THANK YOU! I just subscribed!
some people have some don't Thank you Sir u do for some reason i think itis the patience and timing your not to fast and your presentation gives a person even an experienced beginner confidence to use what experience they posess to perform this song to a degree of satisfaction. Thank u ill b practicing w more of your videos after i get some rest Richard from PGH.
Love the lesson one of my favourite tracks and one of the most comprehensive lessons for this song - great work. - Steve - Old man learning new tricks on the guitar :)
thanks for the tutorial : ) by the way nice guitar i just bought my les paul traditional a couple of months ago its a 2016 and i love it mine is in honeyburst..what do you think of yours?
nice explanation - of 1 of my fav songs. gonna check out yr channel! i think we have similar guitars. love the sound but g string keeps goin out of tune.
Mispronouncing the name of something, does not mean that one does not comprehend the essence of that entity; the name is not the same as “the thing itself.” The map is not the territory. This is a good lesson for those advanced beginners desiring to play lead.
For the chords i would play Am7 and Am6 (not Am7 and D9). Just lower the b7 note a half step to a 6th and you have the Am6 chord. It will sound better and it is also more authentic. Otherwise nice tutorial.
Noisy, and that's not at all what Carlos is playing. There's plenty of videos of his fingerings, and if you wanted to go that route it could've been done in the first position. No offense, but that's incredibly loud and noisy.
You're playing it too in-time. Santana's style is based on less complex rhythms, but they are mildy syncopated so that the notes fall short and rush ahead of the beat in just the right spots to carry the song. It's the soul that makes his music challenging. You just have to feel the music. Keep at it, and great job explaining the notes.
Great until the very end.You totally lost me on the last part of the solo, and I'm pretty sure there are some notes missing. I hear some double stops...and near the end a slide from 7/5 on the A and then hammer-on 3 to 5 on the A. HELP!

Yes, please!!! That's the worse sounding Gibson I've ever heard. It just sinks your motivation.

Get amp, throw away. Buy a better one.
It's not pronounced "howee"...
What looping pedal are you using.
EXCELENT THANK YOU
The first solo is the hight E string or B string? 10 fret.
Trust your ear and realize how hard it can be to get everything perfect even when you are the teacher.
Thanks for the comment. I will make more of an effort in my future video's to do that. Best.

Sorry... when you pronounced it incorrectly I lost all confidence. It ain't O'yeee.
