Servicing the rear gearbox on a 95-05 Yamaha Wolverine 350

In this video I explain and demonstrate how to service the gearbox/ differential including replacing the bearings and oil seals.

You can use Brake cleaner to clean your parts. The Brake Clean will cut grease and grime. It also evaporates and leaves the part ready for sealants. You can use different pieces of wood to install your bearings back into the "differential" cases. The wood will not harm the hardened metal and you can use your press. You can make custom bearing press discs by laying the bearing on the correct size wood and drawing around the bearing with a marker. Then use a skill saw to cut the wood and an file comes in handy to adjust the size it if needed. Thanks for the video.

How does the pinion bearing come off the shaft?has somthing in front of it like a bearing type lock sheave?

Good video overall. I'm working on my 98 BB now. Question I have is how in the world did you gwt the two locking nuts off the axle? Are the reverse thread? I've heated them up with a torch, only managed to melt the dust cap. Pulled so hard in turned the front wheels. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

@@dionisiobatresruiz2211 amigo te puedo hacer una consulta,quizás tú tengas más experiencia,yo tengo una cuatrimoto Yamaha timberwolf 250 y se gastaron los dientes que envía el diferencial posterior hacia adelanté y le soldé la cabeza del cardan pero no cambie el rodaje porque lo noté bien se que calentó un poco al momento de la soldadura azúl,,tu crees que me funcione regular,los mecánicos de aquí Perú me dijeron que si porque así como calentó el rodaje al momento de soldar , también enfrió y no se le echo agua ni otra cosa sino lo habria desempleado el rodaje y se quebraria,pero solo se puso un poquito duro pero lo limpie bien y lave con gasolina y luego le puse graza y lo noto bien, que tal quedará amigo,???
