Lan Ashley that’s an example of a role that anyone else could have easily botched. Degree of difficulty 10/10, and he “stuck the landing”, as always.

I think Gyllenhaal is so underrated. One of the best actors who has been hiding out of the radar. But I guess it's for the good. Because only few of us can savour his acting performances. Same goes for the actor Joaquin Phoenix. I am guessing he'll gather a huge fan base once the joker movie is out.

Gyllenhaal isn't anywhere near as under the radar as Joaquin. He's always had a place in pop culture, ever since October Sky/Donnie Darko. Hes not necessarily a "leading man" (though he's played those parts), but he's hands down more famous/mainstream than Joaquin.

Awards are usually just a show for rich people. They don't reward hard work and talent. Jake Gyllenhaal is a great actor, as well as many others who probably deserve awards, but alas, it is not us who give said awards.

I think Jake makes every movie he's in that much better. I've never heard of him until Spider-Man: Far From Home, but he is now my favorite actor. I would not have enjoyed the movie as much as I did if it weren't for his portrayal of Mysterio.

Coming from a 19 year old man, i can’t even begin to express how beautiful of a man he is. Such attractive and captivating eyes, thick and luscious eyebrows, perfect hair..... I’m not usually overly obsessed with how other people look, certainly not men considering I’m a straight guy, but man.... there’s something about Jake Gyllenhaal, such a perfect look. And as someone who has struggled alot, and continue to struggle with my appearance, boy do I wish I could look like Jake.... he literally has the perfect face.

man, he literally chooses the BEST films to act in. When I see his name in a film, i know i'm gonna enjoy it. No effects, no superhero shit. Original written films man. Just finished watching stronger and nocturnal animals. 10/10 for both.

He is the only person who has the guts to try different roles and takes creative, out-of-the-box, off-beat roles. Donnie-Darko, Enemy, Night Crawler, Source Code. He appreciates psychological thriller movies.
I never really understood why people disliked him, he is a pretty good actor from the movies I've seen him in. He doesn't overreact, but instead provides the right amount of emotion and if needed a lack of emotion.

in one of his interview, Jake said that the eye twitching in Prisoners present that Loki was having too many things to process in his head, which is something not described in the script. He added it himself to make the character more real.
Him and Gosling seriously deserve to win an Oscar each, though I think any award they get would just feel like a consolidation for not awarding many brilliant performances.

I fell in love with his acting ever since I saw Donnie Darko. To be honest he's an underrated actor compared to many out there, but he's the one who deserves an Oscar. Nocturnal animals, Prisoner, Okja, Nightcrawler, he's outstanding in all of this films.

That is exactly what I hate about Marvel Studios. So much great potential wasted. Michael Keaton was great--I am sure he will return and again. IF he doesn't die. That guy from big Lebowski in iron-man, actress from black Swan in thor, Sam Rockwell in iron man 2, Michael Douglas in Ant man, jude Law in captain marvel, Rebecca Hall in iron man 3, Irish Elba.. So many actors wasted in my opinion.

MCU always cast heavy hitter actors for their villain roles though. Their very good at casting the right actors to make sure the villains are three dimensional rather than just hero fodder.
He’s my personal favorite actor, he sells the hell out of any role he does. Take something that isn’t as serious a role even, like Mysterio in Spiderman: FFH. I dare you to find a more convincing display of emotion among the MCU than his enraged scream to fire all the drones near the end of that film. This is to say nothing of more serious roles like Bloom in Nightcrawler, etc. I continue to look forward to what the future will bring from him same as I always have since I first became aware of him.
Brokeback Mountain, the greatest love story in American Cinematic history stands out atop Jakes genious. Most loved actor.
