Hey girl! I love your channel, your videos are so helpful as I’m going through my nursing school journey 🩷 As someone who follows a very low carb and sugar free lifestyle, it’s my opinion that ketones are the best fuel for our body and absolutely our brain. This is not commonly discussed in modern society due to our over production & consumption of processed foods. What research studies out there have suggested that the body being in ketosis and the condition of keto acidosis are related?
Thanks for all you do, God bless!

Hey @ally9216! Our resources are to help nursing students through nursing school. We cannot give out any medical advice. We always recommend if you have any medical specific questions they are best addressed with your healthcare provider. Thank you for understanding. Hope you have a great day! 😊

I have a question, if the body cant use glucose for energy due to insulin, and starts to use fat, is it fat as the macronutrient or bodyfat? Since we have 2 stores for each? So if the body cant use glucose then it will use fats?

For me it was body fat I was suffering from uncontrolled t1d and when my body started going into dka I dropped about 25-30 pounds all over my body. I was a weak small bony version of my self literally on the brink of death then fell into a diabetic coma. I hated being diagnosed one of the worst weeks of my life

It is both. During severe insulin deficiency, the body will generally have a very hard time storing dietary fat in any case.
Severe insulin deficiency will also cause the body to produce large amounts of glucose from protein as well, leading to high levels of ketones and blood glucose.
