Hey, your not the only one, I had exactly the same problem, but I didn’t know I had diabetes it sort of appeared with out me knowing…. Basically my episode happened at the beginning of Covid, I caught Covid in hospital, I was in ICU for 5days then 24days on ward…. Hospital wasn’t a good place where I was, a full lock down happened he could not walk out of the ward, everyone was quarantined, not a nice experience and what we all saw, rest in peace for those not here today….. I can’t get the images out of my head which are still fresh today, I thank my hospital because they saved my life, I was told I had less than 10mins of life left… now I’m ok and healthy with various medications, thanks for this video, I hope your ok now and learning more about diabetes 👍🏻
My 9 year old son just went through the same thing it was heartbreaking his levels were 1034 they said they never saw it so high they airlifted him to another hospital and he stayed on the icu for 2 days he’s doing a lot better now thanks for this video ♥️ you got this 🙏🏾
I too am a type 1 diabetic since 1994. The best thing I could do for myself is get the Dexcon g6 and Omiepod. They work great together. Liked your video. I'm glad your doing better. Every day is a struggle to keep your blood sugar at range. You can do it just be strong.
What a beautiful, intelligent and well spoken young woman you are! Thanks for having the courage to post your story. I am also a type 1 diabetic. Sometimes I don't feel like "owning" my diabetes or feel ashamed for some stupid reason. So happy you have a diagnosis (so many misdiagnosed) and the love and support of your family. You got this love!
stay strong! I have type one diabetes to and my brother does to I am pretty sure he went in to DKA! so amazing that you got a dexcom so quick. I have the omni pod and I love it. I also have the dexcom and love! I got diagnosed in Maryland but didn't have to go o the hospital because my parents knew the symptoms! Its not a fun thing to have but stay strong girl you got this! WE GOT THIS!
Keelin I was diagnosed at around your age and they too told me I made to the hospital just in time otherwise I would have gone into a coma. Stay strong you got this. Look forward to hearing about your Omnipod experience... I’ve been a T1D for 35+ years. Also, I’m not sure if you are familiar with “shesdiabetic” UA-cam account, but she is such a good resource and fun to watch.
@Engelbert Humperdinck i know my dad has researched some people... i personally have yet to... so far no complications with the pump, i have had a few with dexcom but they’ve sent me a few new sensors to make up for it!
i was diagnosed in 2019! glad u were able to get a dexcom so quick my insurance made me wait 6 months and i had such bad anxiety about going low lol but it’s game changer!!
Hey keelin sorry about this my brother has type 1 diabetes so I know it can be really hard sometimes but I hope it’s going okay and I hope I get to see you again at school sometime!! Not gonna lie you were the best Spanish partner
I was diagnosed with t1d in 2018 I was in hospital for a week and my blood glucose levels were in there forties and I went into a coma whilst on holiday to tennerife that was over a year ago now but believe me it does get easier and I’m hoping to get my insulin pump soon
I am T1, diagnosed 1/18/1985 - I know, the dark ages. Just after my 17th birthday. Had my 39th diaversary in 2024. There were no insulin pumps back then. CGMs were not even a dream. Night-time blood sugar crashes occurred frequently. Only had beef and pork insulins (I actually saved my first R and N vials and still have them today). No quick acting insulin. The R insulin took about 2 hours to start working, N was your basal dose, lasting about 12 hours. Blood tests took about 2 minutes. Drop of blood on a test strip, wait a minute, then run the strip under water & blot dry. Then wait another minute. Finally compare the strip with a color chart on the strip vial to guess your sugar level. You'd be lucky to guess within 100 points of your actual blood sugar results. Things are so much easier now, but this condition still blows. Best of luck to your future!
Aww so srry I'm a diabetic also but I'm a type 2 buti know what you are going through it is really hard. People day i know what you go through but they don't know how to is. You got a real friend luvthe video 🙏🙏🌹
Hey love! My story of being diagnosed is so similar! And I know it’s so hard to go through alone feel free to reach out at any time! Stay strong girly 💕
@herpesgoddess6746 excuse me she’s diagnosed w/ Type 1 Diabetes! There is no cure for Type 1. That is one thing people don’t understand; when people talking about cures for Diabetes they are referring to Type 2!!!
Hey Keelin, you are going to LOVE the Omnipod. We don't have them in Australia but they are so good that I actually import it myself for my son. Best of luck, you will rock this disease. Do let us know how you are getting on. Marcel.
Sorry this happened Keelin! Great job articulating your story! You are/will handle this well as you're so positive and active and educated! Impressive!
Glad you good . I been through the same thing. My lungs collapsed plus my kidneys stop working completely. I had to be intubated and spent the next 3 months in the ICU . Also I had codvic .
Yup that sounds like D.K.A. all right. I would know as I have been hospitalized for D.K.A. too many times to count. All though ironically my diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes did not involve ending up in Hospital for D.K.A. All my D.K.A. episodes were after I was all ready diagnosed. I only found out after going to my family doctor after losing something like ninety pounds over the span of about seven months. Don't go into a Diabetic Coma, it really really sucks.
Guessing you have been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes for about two months now. Its a bad disease, but you can live an almost normal life with it and it does not have to affect you materially. With modern equipment, such as automated insulin pumps that use CGMS data to adjust basal insulin, you can have normal blood sugars a predominant amount of the time. And avoid any long term, and short term, damage. Test your blood sugar often, even though you are using a CGMS. Pay attention to what you eat and take the right amount of insulin for the food. Exercise. Diabetes does not have to be too much of a detriment. You can live successfully with it. You're always fighting it and working hard all the time, but you can conquer it, sort of.
Thank you for being the dedicated, thoughtful, and compassionate doctor that you are, you are more honest than I imagined, thank you so much Dr Igudia UA-cam channel for curing my Diabetes, you are amazing
@@ozzynation1866 Yes true but I don’t think type one can ever be reverse once you’re one type you live with it forever there’s no cure for it but type two people have a better chance because they’re likely to lower their A1C and maybe even grow out of it not invalidating type two people
I didn’t enjoy your video. It makes me sad…. I just don’t wish it for you. I too am a type 1. I’ve had it for 23-24 years. The good news is as medicine progresses things get better. In the last couple years the Dexcom g6, g7 and lately the Omnipod 5 have changed my life. I hope they do well for you.
I feel so sorry for this little girl, hope she becomes fine, type 1 diabetes happens without any reason maybe abnormal sudden dysfunction of pancreas insulin production. But type 2 diabetes occurs due to excessive semen loss by doing excessive masturbation, so semen retention is the best medication for people, those who have type 2 diabetes should follow semen retention for 1 year it will 100% reverse yout diabetes.

When I went to the hospital I had blood sugar of 600 and got diagnosed with type 2. All I remember was feeling thirsty all the time lol
That is called Kussmaul breathing. My mom used to get it
