Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

Holy crap this is taking me waaaaaaaaaaaay back! I have the complete set of those cards and I guess what was series 2. I loved collecting all those cards when I was a kid and I'm so glad I still have both sets. But watching you unbox a BRAND NEW box and open those card packs (I forgot what they looked like) is too awesome!
Pretty well every character you admitted to not knowing (Cerise, Kylun, Widget, Saturnyne, Roma, Technet) were found in the pages of Excalibur.
I remember buying these packs from my local corner store back when I was a kid. I still got a couple. This brought back some memories.
Bought these when on holidays in Anaheim. Must have bought a box worth from the shop in the hotel. Fantastic collection, great work from Jim Lee.

this box is soo crispy and well taken care of prior to opening. a lot of the boxes you may find for ridiculous prices even have very common dings on the boxes.

Think I have some of these cards please do a part 2 I'm curious to see more, I have to dig through quite a bit of stuff to see what I have and I'm super busy with work so seeing you open packs is kind of refreshing.

A few years back I finally got a complete set of Marvel Universe Series 2 trading cards from 1991. That's the year I really bacame a comic book fanboy. I have so many complete card sets, but Series 2 MUTC always alluded me.

There was an episode of Comic Books Men and a customer was trying to sell his collection of cards. He had the Jim Lee and other sets. The owner went out back and came back with a dollie filled with boxes of the cards! He said they were worthless because they were so mass produced!
Dude these bring back memories. The trading cards were the first things I collected back in the day. I remember in the bayarea going to a comic shop somewhere in Mt.view and also Lee's comics in san mateo picking up packs of cards with my brother. I can't remember the name of the cards but there used to be this set that had iconic character from images of their comics but they were set in real life settings, those were great! I remember I had a wolverine slashing thru the forest.

I had that Beast card. He looks so good because he's coming out in front of the outline. Jumping out of the picture. I mostly collected the 1993 ones where every card was part of a bigger group of 9. I had a couple of those 1991 series 1s, and maybe 2 or 3 packs of the 1994 painted Marvel Masterpieces cards.
This brought back so many good memories! I remember the X-Men tin with the whole set. I wonder if marvel masterpiece is still around?? Awesome vid

This set was one of my fav things ever as a kid, but I can't remember what happened to it. But a few months ago I found an open box (meaning all the packs were already open) at a local swap meet for 5 bucks... I was so happy. Looking through all the packs I just kept wishing for a whole set. I ended up only missing one card... the hologram x-men team pic, but I don't care about the holograms... I just wanted a set of the regular cards to put in a baseball card binder.

I used to have the bootleg version of those cards during early to mid 90s. To complete the set I need to battle with my friends and place a bet (my own cards). My friend will throw his card and I need to guess if it will be head or tail. We will repeat this process until one of us runs out of cards. 🇵🇭🇵🇭

Man I loved these back in the day. Almost had the complete sets of each series. Was missing a few of hologram cards. I have no idea what happened to them. Probably thrown out by my mom after I moved out.

Well this was fun. I have some of those cards somewhere in my stuff. I don’t think I have a holo card. Card collecting was a blast. I think I came across mine from a cousin who passed along stuff he had. That and some Toybiz 5” figs. Hope you get a couple holo cards in the other half of the box.

I would say legends because the amount of figures,the articulation, and usually better scaling. Most figures from legends look better like beast for example
