- Time for some more Bloodborne! While "Wake Me When it's Over" was more about the game's experience as a whole, this ballad is about its DLC and the character of Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower. If you haven't seen her fight, well, she's a force to be reckoned with and it took me 10-11 tries to beat her. Her story is interesting to me as she's guarding a dream of the past, a secret she's been keeping for many lifetimes.
We all must pray to Vaati that one day we'll get a Lady Maria Prepare to Cry!

So I'm like massively late but I started Bloodborne a few weeks ago and today I beat Lady Maria. Immediately came over here to listen to this again but now with added context. Loved her fight and her story, tragic as it is.
I say we riot till Vaati gives us Maria's Prepare to Cry

Yeah, what the hell happened to that? He posts his first few Old Hunters videos, and I'm like "Oh boy, can't wait for the prepare to cry he gets out of this DLC!" and then he's like "Yeah, I'm gonna do a Maria one for sure. And a Ludwig one. Here they come!" Well I'm still waiting, Vaati.

there may yet be hope may friends, do you remember the first trailer he made for Prepare to Cry where he teased Prepare to Cry Demon's Souls and then made said series. I think he did the same thing with the new Remastered edition trailer he made months ago. The teases are only quickly passing stills. They are in order.

@@essex3777 I certainly hope you're right. Vaati actually stopped doing Bloodborn Videos because of a Twitter poll--people wanted him to do other things, and when given a choice, they told him to drop Bloodborne. I think he mentions that in one of his Bloodborne Videos, but I'm not sure which. =/
But yeah, we definately need those Prepare To Cry's!
As someone who just recently finished “the old hunters” I just want to say one thing and that’s “fuck you ludwig, you demonic centaur from hell” good music though moonlight almost made the pain worth it
Aviators, buddy, 6 years and not once have you failed to show me your creative genius. You're a brilliant, inspiring and talented person. I feel lucky that I've been her for so long, to see you grow and learn and develop new tastes. It's a little strange, but it happened and I loved every moment of it.

HOLY SHIT. listening to this 3 years later and only just realizing, its not regular hunters she's being hunted by, its the Hunters of Hunters, the "ravens" named so for their special coat patterned after and using raven feathers. she didn't die normally, she became blood addled and passed into the nightmare while being hunted by the hunters of hunters. following that she must have regained sanity and tossed her weapon into the well, only for a duplicate to appear beside her whenever she fights, it is a dream, after all. the sword never appeared in the normal world's version of the hamlet, because there must be a normal world version for it to be what caused the hunters to start drifting into nightmares instead of just the dream, it was only ever in the nightmare. Maria was a hunter until her last day in the waking world, then she passed into the nightmare while blood addled, like the others, and then somehow regained her sanity and took watch over the inhabitants of the research hall as penance, after throwing her weapon into the well within the town that started it all and became the guardian of both the hamlet and the hall

@@shinysnivy6604 i dont know if it says that anywhere, i read a bunch of item descriptions and all i know is that she discarded her rakuyo after the massacre at the hamlet. I may not have read enough item descriptions but I don't believe it says anywhere that she killed herself, and I don't see how she could've without her weapon.

The dark souls series had so much fighting in it because of gwyn being afraid of the dark. Bloodborne has so much fighting in it because of man's curiosity.

Dude, I know you’re probably not gonna read this, but… Maria is my favourite character not just in Bloodborne, but in all of media. In the world even, and this song is absolutely perfect for her. I’m not going to lie, I even teared up slightly, I feel blessed to have been able to listen to this, even if I’m six years late.

I've been listening to Aviators for the last couple of hours. Needless to say I'm hooked.
Definitely one of my top 5 off Dystopian Fiction, I still can't believe how great every track is. It's mind boggling that you aren't more widely know. I've never played Bloodbourne or Dark Souls but these songs really give a sense of the lore and feel of the game, I really want to play them now. I love how it sounds like Lowborn too, I bet an acoustic mashup of the two would sound amazing^^

While I understand Lady Maria's story and most of bloodborne's as well, you managed to make a song that, even without that prior knowledge can stand on its own. You deserve some serious respect for that.

This song has quickly become my favorite song, surpassing "Angels Fall the Farthest." Which is fitting since Dystopian Fiction surpasses Building Better Worlds as my favorite album. Another great song from this album. Didn't like it much at first, but it really grew on me with repeated listenings. It's now up there with Catalyst, Bleeding Sun and Dystopian Fiction for my favorite song of the record (and of your songs in general).

Been in love with it, and the lyrical genius that hints at the story, but never outright says it, much like Fading Light, leaving it much more open to be enjoyed by people who haven't played the series
God I love Lady Maria, only boss I've let myself get killed by so I could keep fighting her some more. I normally parry a lot against hunters, this is the exception.
