you are the best blogging camera and scooter e-sales person on youtube. not only are you a devout vegn and carnivore , you also drink your own urine. the best
Have you tried others as well? I was not really experienced with scooters but i tried multiple ones in a store from 400$ to 4000$ including the HiBoy Max. In the end i opted for a 2nd hand one with bigger tires, dual motor (2x 1200W!!!!) and big battery. It has its cost beside money tho - 40kg, a pretty hefty monster but it drives like a charme, has plenty of performance headroom (i mainly use only one motor, 2 are dangerously fast accelerating and go easily 60kmh+ within seconds) The only reason beside testing top speed and so in the beginning to use both motors is steep climbs of 15% and more, otherwise 1200W are even "too much". For me, the decision was easy to avoid small and "weak" ones like the HiBoy Max... small tires are super hard to control and dangerous at some manhole covers, its performance might be ok, but i dont want to imagine going for longer climbs even if they are not steep. Bigger air tires alone make already a huge difference, but its suspension is also worlds better than the cheaper ones.
My dude i hope companies continue to send you products like this. I have a MAX G2 by Segway and i love that thing. It gets me to my destination with zero problems. I just had to adjust my drum brake strength out of the box but once i did that, the scooter is excellent and very similar to the Hiboy you have there. 😎👊😊
Fun video.. Does that squirrel have its own UA-cam channel. Looked pretty camera savvy!! I'm thinking these things would be quite the accident waiting to happen where I live. People/drivers don't react kindly to bikers and runners here. And, we have no lanes for bikes/scooters. Nice overview of the product. Seems pretty cool if you live in an area that has bike lanes.
@3:18 your tears hit the lens. I never take my scooter into the house. One day it will catch on fire, that's why i leave it outside. Not sure how good that does for the battery... -6º over here right now. I should check, if it drives at that temp.
Storing scooters indoors is not risky, provided you take precautions. First off, never leave the scooter connected to the charger 24/7. And don't leave it fully charged. Just charge it before you ride it. This practically eliminates the possibility of batteries catching fire. Also never charge it if the battery is colder than freezing (0C, 32F).
lol just today i watched the video where you had to ride your scooter back to your BMPCC with the leica 200.. also wildlife loves this scooter! huge added bonus
The reason the new scooter didn't shave more time off your run is slower acceleration. In city traffic, you slow down and speed up a lot so fast acceleration shaves more time off your journey than a higher top speed.
Doing your part to fatten up your local squirrels. I do the same in Windsor. I’m compelled to do it. I feel like I don’t even have a choice in the matter.
I did the math and assuming you travelled at 31 km/h the whole way before and were reaching in 19 mins. Now you should be reaching in just under 17 mins if you're travelling at 35 the whole time
Please keep up these scooter reviews. The e-scooter era is just beginning. Have you developed or acquired a decent MILC camera mount for a scooter yet?!
I have the same scooter, and while I love it, it definitely has some flaws. I can vouch for the fact that it does not go up hills very well, and even in the summertime I got about 20 miles out of it. I probably could’ve pushed it a little further, but didn’t want to take the chance.I agree a battery percentage versus the bars would be much better. I’d also love to have an odometer. The Hiboy app is absolutely terrible. Whatever you do, don’t digitally lock the scooter.
What it needs is a bright paint scheme in yellow with reflectors. You should also wear a high visibility vest with reflectors so's that people can see you coming. Maybe some stip light in orange like down the sides of a semi trailer truck. As it is is you're all dark and you blend in with everything like your background, and yet you're flying along on a quiet electric scooter at 35kph and there's no sign that you're fast approaching - like lights and high visibility clothing.
Haven't looked into it at all, but if the tires are bigger, then likely the increased speed compared to the old model is just from the same motor spinning a larger tire, which would also explain the decrease in torque (acceleration) for things like climbing hills.
Why black or dark gray . Make them bright, noticeable colors and light it up so they know your intentions. I want to be seen. And what about earl leading link suspension on the front so you grab the front brakes it rises instead of dropping?
I tries the exact same scooter in a shop recently and realised it might be a very good budget scooter if you buy a new one, but in the end its still too expensive for what you get (very underpowered, slow) I got instead a 2nd hand, broken KuKirin G3 Pro with dual motor setup and a top speed of 65 km/h and amazing climbing capabilities. The repair was super easy, just a broken cable replaced and it runs like a charme now. Saved over 1000$ compared to a new one. Not so happy about the range when using both motors, but when in eco mode and single motor usage (maximum about 20 kmh) it goes for much longer. Wondering when i meet the first time cops while going full speed, also i think i should drive thru a 30kmh zone and speed traps with 60+ since i dont have a license plate (and its not even possible/allowed to register this scooter)
I bought an ebike in 2016. Loved it, but traded it for a dirt bike. Terrible decision. But now you make me crave another e-vehicle. Are scooters better than e-boards, or what's your preference? Maybe if I continue this YT scrub path in about 5 years I can be half as successful as you and afford myself a scooter! Enjoy your fun videos Kasey, don't ever stop! I want to see a Kasey movie made with your favorite cameras! 📽
Seems like scooter laws are different depending where you're located. In the UK, electric scooters can't be used on public roads, pavement, cycle lanes etc, only on private land.
Ha Ha! Right at 2:59 after "that's a dead dog right there", two dogs appear. Speaking of scooters, I've been wanting to get one for a couple of years now. But I'm also interested in distance and weight. But I've only just started watching, so maybe you'll mention it later in the video... UPDATE: Indeed, you did mention those things later- very interesting! At 8:21, I would be tempted to put piece of wide dark tape over the logo sometimes, only in case it's very desirable brand, tempting the eyes of thieves who may be 'in the know'. Then again, it may be my own paranoia about a nice eMountain bike I have that people always notice. I even feel like I should drag it into Loblaws- even if I just want to get a few groceries!
I modded my Xiaomi a few years ago and it goes 47km/h (with additional battery). That’s the speed bro! Kind of scary! Using it only on straight parts with a little traffic. But, this scoot is really interesting! 👍🏻
I was driving once the Sur Ron (or however its spelled) X dirtbike and its crazy fast and fun, but its battery performance is abysmal if you push it hard, but thats expected, as already seen in high end RC vehicles going for just 10-15 minutes before a empty battery. The biggest issue with those... cops dont like them. Its hard to get caught in general, but if they see you.... run or cooperate with them. Still, if you can afford, i would highly suggest such a "e-bike" over any 250cc 2 stroke or 450cc 4 stroke dirtbike. I personally ride a Kawasaki KX 250 and since some days a KuKirin G3 Pro with 2x 1200W motors and HUGE battery (i think over 1kWh, lasts easily for 100km+ in single motor usage), I really like my Kawa, but the pretty high end scooter with much power is also a fun in its own. I didnt expect that as well, but this scooter goes pretty strong on bad roads, unlike all others (cheaper ones) i have tested before purchasing.
Excellent squirrel review! We only have gray squirrels in our area! Thanks for the macadamia nut warning about dogs! Kasey feeding squirrels should be its own channel! Oh yeah the scooter is very nice, but here in Massachusetts the regulations are insane and every town can set different rules so if you are crossing into one town you may be breaking the law... They say it is safety concerns....hahahaha
I was 😱 afraid for a second that a 2nd hand brake meant no regenerative braking.... by far more useful than the calipers. It's like driving stick and using the engine for compression braking. (Also, Alexa is telling me it's spelled breaking, but i dont believe her lies)
Looking for a scooter as we speak and stuck between this and the s2 max. on sale s2 max is $465 OTD this one is $684. do you think the difference in price is worth it? would you stick with the S2 Max?
also would you recommend @@cameraconspiracies also would you recommend going for one of these as a first out the gate or getting a a vs4 to begin with?
Wait a minute !!! He complained about getting water bottles from the same place, and casually retrieved food for his best friend without batting a complaining eyelid….something smells fishy and it isn’t the cheap peanuts ! ;)
while the germans are a bit overcautious, some regulation is order for the very fast stuff in places where bike/scooter infrastructure is already established. 70 km/h stuff is simply not compatible with regular riders; that's straight-up motorcycle territory. (except much lighter of course, but the impact force will still be half of a motorcyclist hitting you)

Feeding the squirrel and the macadamia nut saga in the background while you were reviewing the scooter was too funny man your content is gold 😂😂
Dude, I don't even get to eat macadamia nuts at $25 lb. That squirrel is LIVING!
I love how the squirrel hangs out with you.
Is there an affiliate link for the squirrel?
I really enjoyed this video! The macadamia nut dilemma was funny.
Not going to lie I was relaxing hard watching this video. Oh was this a hiboy review? I’ll get it just cause of the peace I got during this video 😂
Why is this video so relaxing 😅 I love the mellow voice and music, loving my Hiboy max so far 😊

The Squirrel whisperer is back
"pray that your back holds up" I felt that pain 😭
First time watching your videos, I'm a believer now.
love the ambient music. love everything
Tony the Squirrel loved when the macadamia man visited. Little did he know that he had an appointment with the Instant Pot later that day.
This episode was especially dope! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cute black squirrel.
"Feed a squirrel, kill a dog" 😂
Dogs are a hazard
The double Peak Design clip is the best part of this video.
I have a Hiboy KS4 Pro. 19MPH is a perfect top speed for me
You can soften the rear suspension with by loosening 2 nuts on the sprimgs underneath
"You missed one! That's a dead dog right there!"
* 2 seconds later, dog enters frame *
XD

@@rustyburgerGround speed is a function of RPM * diameter
Wrong. If the motor is running at the same speed, bigger wheels will result in higher speed.

You are hitting a higher top speed due to larger wheels which will take a while. That is also why you lost low end torque.
Yea i locked it once and it completely locked me out of the app won’t let me connect
How about the Hi boy X300?
Have you ever fallen off a scooter? I’m interested in getting one. I’m prone to accidents, though.
It has better vmax but lower torque - this could mean its the same engine, but coiled differently.
if only big camera would send you stuff to review😃
You can get valve extensions off the usual shopping sites - will work nicely if you have enough clearance.
More interested in your opinion on the OP3 (listed on your gear page)….soon once you’ve tested?
