Sufi is at its peak in west africa ! I come from a sufi family and they are DEEPLY rooted in it. I left sufism (tijaniyya to be more precise) and I am not even allowed to TALK about how it contradicts the Quran, I am not even allowed to mention anything about tijaniyya anymore. May Allah guidw my family, my country and the ummah! Assalam aleykum

Same here, I live in a country where it is the norm to be affiliated to one of the sufi branches. I personally never trully embraced it and Ma Sha Allah I don't even think about taking part into it.
I have seen many people go astray because of it.

      Brother my condition is same.
Just because of allah's guidance I got hidayat and when I got hidayat I started giving dawah. Many people have covered to Islam and few have reverted. But my family members are yet SUFI😭.
I am not allowed to enter most of mosque, my friend were told not talk to me. My family is opposing for giving me dawah and calling people towards haqq.
They don't want to listen any thing which goes against the Sufism, they are least interested in quran and Sunnah.
The sufi have called me worst then a kafir.
But no matter I don't care of one what I care is to be dutiful to allah

No harm in making Dua at grave...Why do you visit your deceased on Eid? Why do you visit the grave of Rasool Ullah , why do you make Dua at Junnat ul Bahqi. Please we need to apply common sense...Allah made islam easy don't complicate matters. Where does it say you can't perform Thikr in a group..show me. @@zparkergeco First of all we don't have to give you anything, you have to provide us evidence for anything related to this Religion. The Prophet alaihi salatus salaam said anything that is not accordance with our affair then it will be rejected likewise Allah subhanu watala has informed us that this religion is complete and we have been commanded to follow the Prophet Muhammad sallalahu alaihi wasalam and his companions so if there is an act which is done that which was not done by the Prophet alaihi salatus salaam or his companions then either the people are on a religion better than what Allah has sent his messenger with or you are totally inventing something new, and the prophet Sallalahu alaihi wasalam said every newly invented matter is misguidance and all misguidance is in the hellfire. Likewise who said you can't make dua at graves? If you mean to say you making dua for the deceased then there are many narrations for that but if you mean you make dua to the inhabitant of the grave by saying for e.g. oh help me so and so then you have commited an act of worship to other than Allah because the Prophet alaihi salatus salaam said Dua is worship, and if dua is not done to Allah alone then it is shirk and Allah tells the meaning of the verse that whoever commits shirk with him, Allah has made Jannah haraam for him. So now my brother may Allah bless you, be on the safe side, why not just stick with what the Prophet alaihi salatus salaam did and likewise his companions whom Allah praised and told us to follow? Why must the people come up with new things when the religion is complete and the Qur'an, Sunnah has sufficed us?
May Allah rectify the affairs of the Ummah

True Sufi people are those who follow shariah and sunnah of the Prophet s.a.v.more than most. Puryfing the heart and developing good behavior is the central point of Islam. Our beloved Prophet s.a.v. taught us and encouraged us many types of zikr and additional (nafl) prayers so that we become close to Allah and understand the wisdom of creation.

@@damnboi972 The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not specifically call for people to be "Sufi" in the way the term is understood today, nor did he use the term directly. Many concepts in Islam, including Sufism, emerged after his time. Just as he did not explicitly establish formalized schools of thought (madhabs) or detail specific methodologies for Tafsir (Quranic exegesis) and Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), he also did not mention Sufism as a distinct path.
      Relevant Points:
      1. The core principles that underpin Sufism, such as inner purification, remembrance of Allah (Dhikr), and striving for a closer relationship with God, align with his teachings but are framed within a broader spiritual context that developed later.
      2. Many practices and terms in Islam evolved after the Prophet’s era. For instance, the formal concept of Sufism, as a spiritual path emphasizing mystical experiences, became more organized in subsequent centuries.
      3. For further exploration, you can refer to works like "The Revival of the Religious Sciences" (Ihya Ulum al-Din) by Al-Ghazali, which discusses Islamic spirituality, and "The Essential Rumi," reflecting on spiritual themes aligned with Sufi thought. Additionally, Quranic verses that emphasize inner spirituality, such as Quran 13:28, highlight the importance of remembering Allah.
In summary, while the Prophet’s teachings encourage spirituality and connection with God, the formal designation of “Sufi” and its practices developed later, just as other interpretations and schools of thought did.

Assalamualaikum Brother. If you'll excuse me, I'd like to mention a few things.
    1. You say "ILM and ZUHD are BOTH necessary and must be balanced in a Muslim's practice. I don't understand why you're talking about ILM and ZUHD as if they are seperate concepts. Zuhd and tazkiyah are only possible for those who have learned the Sharia of Islam well and applied it to their lives. On the other hand, the Qur'an and the Sunnah are the resources given to us to become zahids and to cleanse ourselves. Why does Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala order us to pray salah and to fast and to perform other types of ibadat? Is He in need of them or are we? And why do we need them? Aren't they all for tazkiyah and to progress towards Al-Insān al-Kāmil? Shortly, it is not possible to think of these concepts separately.
    2. You are talking about the concept of "Sufism or tasawwuf" as if it is out of Islam, by saying it is not mentioned in Quran or Sunnah. Are the concepts of "al Ilm al Kalam" , "el-ehâdîsü’l-kavliyyah”, “el-ehâdîsü’l-fi‘liyyah” and “el-ehâdîsü’t-takrîriyyah” from the Qur'an? Or is the word HADITH ever mentioned for the words and deeds of Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam) in the Qur'an? Like "Ilm al Fiqh", "Ilm al Kalam" and "Ilm al Hadith", "Ilm al tasawwuf" is also excerpt from Quran and Sunnah Rasulullah. What I understand from Sharia and Tasawwuf is that, they are complementary to each other, i.e. they constitute a complete set of standards and qualifications for a Muslim to gain Allah(SWT)'s rida. Sharia puts the minimum standards to be satisfied by a Muslim in this world. Disobeying these standars and rules is subject to penalty both in this world and in the Hereafter. Tasawwuf (or Sufism), on the other hand, aims to give a person qualities that can allow him to be forgiven for punishments that he will be subjected to in the Hereafter, for not complying with the rules of Sharia. Giving zakat is mandatory according to Sharia. It is a minimum standard to be satisfied. However, Sharia does not force a person to give alms. It does not say to a rich person who gives Zakat, "you will give additional alms." However in the hereafter, Allah will ask His servant the account of all that he/she owned in this world, where he/she used them, how he/she helped the needy, and He says in the Quaran that He will forgive the sins of those who are generous in this respect. Tasawwuf aims to educate Muslims in this regard.
    3. I think you've taken Bishr-I-Hafi's sin. Bishr-i Hafi, while a member of a rich family in the city of Merv, abandoned wealth and fame and turned to ILM. Starting with Ali bin Harsham in Merv, he collected Fiqh and Hadith knowledge from Abdurrahman bin Zaid bin Aslem, Hammad bin Zaid, Abdullah bin Mubarak and many other great scholars in Mecca, Kufa, Damascus, Basra and Bagdad. He attended lessons of scholars such as Ahmad bin Hanbel, Sufyan-i Sevri, Fudayl bin Iyad, Muafa bin Imran and Imam Malik. It is known to everyone that Ahmed bin Hanbel loved Bishr-i-Hafi very much. Many scholars, such as Nuaym bin Heydam, Muhammad bin Heydam, Ibrahim bin Hashim, Nasr Ibn Mansur, Al-Bezzar, Muhammad bin Al-Musenna, Sirri-i Sekati, Ibrahim bin Harbi en-Nisaburi, Omar bin Musa al-Jala, have learned medical knwledge from and studied Hadith with him. Bishr-i Hafi is a beloved servant of Allah who spent his life collecting and teaching knowledge.
If I am wrong in these, I ask Allah(SWT) to forgive me and you to give me your blessing, Brother.

Tassawuf with the early Muslims & Scholars started beautifully & innocently with good intentions. Those who practiced Tassawuf in those days did not bring innovations to the teachings of Our Quran & the Sunnah. It was a way for them to be pious & leave worldly lifestyle to concentrate on worship of Allaah.
Sufism later developed into a completely different religious practice with so much innovations that it has become totally contradictory to the teachings of Our Islamic faith (based on the Quran & Sunnah). We see today so much innovations & shirk with Sufism, unfortunately, that it has become an abomination really. May Allaah guide us all to the right path, aamiin.

One thing that hurts me is if I tell a Sufi that I follow the salafi methodology, I am risking being viewed as an extremist or one who likens Allah to the creation (Allah protect us from that) due to my understanding of Allah in light of Quran and sunnah. It is hard to deal with people who would dislike you and deem you a kaffir if they knew your beliefs. Even though, ironically enough, my beliefs are based in quran and sunnah. So I keep it to myself but it hurts because I would never call any other Muslim a kaffir nor would I look down on their understanding of Islam.

I’m learning about Islam. Can some one answer this question for me.
Why modern Salafis don’t wear turbans? The original Salafs did
The Prophet Muhammads turban was green, why only Sufis wear green turbans?
I have find so many Hadith of Salfs talking to people in the graves and making Tawassul with the Prophet, why modern Salafs don’t allow?
Why all Muslims in the world say in their ATTAHIYAT salams to the Prophet if he is not alive?
If only we ask Allah for help, why dose the Prophet makes intercession in Judgment day?
Is it haram to Ask the Prophet for help?
The angel Gabriel helped many Prophets and Prophets ask for his help. Did they committed Shirk because they were asking help from an Angel?
If some one talks to a Jinn is it haram? Why did Muhammad talk to theJinn then?
If you call yourself Salafi will you be Judge by that standard?
Why String music is haram if Prophet David played the Harp, prophets don’t commit any sin, right?
    ….

I could go on and on, please help me understand.

Stay away from these deviant pseudo Salafis. My little effort will enlighten you that these wahabis/salafis are the HORNS OF SHEITAN. Read on .
O neo-salafis of today. Do you really think following your reviver Mohammed Ibn Abdul Wahab wil take you to Jannah? Have you forgotten the "Hadith about Najd" ? Read on. If you can "see" with the eyes of your heart and you are not brain dead, then the following is a wakeup call for you to repent from todays "neo Salafism" :
      1.
      "Narrated Ibn `Umar:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Allah! Bestow Your blessings on our Sham! O Allah! Bestow Your blessings on our Yemen." The People said, "And also on our Najd." He said, "O Allah! Bestow Your blessings on our Sham (north)! O Allah! Bestow Your blessings on our Yemen." The people said, "O Allah's Apostle! And also on our Najd." I think the third time the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There (in Najd) is the place of earthquakes and afflictions and from there comes out the side of the head of Satan."" : sunnah.com/bukhari:7094
Now the interesting part here is that the Sahabah who said: "And also on our Najd." were Sahabah from the Najd area of Arabia at that time. Reason is that though many of todays "neo salafis" claim it's najd of Iraq, Iraq was not even Muslim country at that time ,so the Sahabah was from Najd of Arabia. To back this point up you need to look at Hadith about Miqat points for Haj, and it is clearly mentioned that Iraq was not Muslim at that time,so there were no Sahabah from Iraq asking for blessing for their " iraq najd"(as claimed by neo salafis) , but they were asking for blessing for the Najd of Arabia.
      Narrated `Abdullah bin Dinar:
Ibn `Umar said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) fixed Qarn as the Miqat (for assuming the Ihram) for the people of Najd, and Al-Juhfa for the people of Sham, and Dhul-Hulaifa for the people of Medina." Ibn `Umar added, "I heard this from the Prophet, and I have been informed that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'The Miqat for the Yemenites is Yalamlam.' "When Iraq was mentioned, he said, "At that time it was not a Muslim country." sunnah.com/bukhari:7344
      2.
Imam Bukhari even wrote a whole chapter called : "(16)Chapter: “Al-Fitnah will appear from the EAST.” : sunnah.com/bukhari/92
Several Hadith mentions that the fitna will appear from the EAST. Only Najd of Arabia lies to the East of Medina ( Hijaz) :
      Narrated Salim's father:
The Prophet (ﷺ) stood up beside the pulpit (and pointed with his finger towards the East) and said, "Afflictions are there! Afflictions are there, from where the side of the head of Satan comes out," or said, "..the side of the sun.."sunnah.com/bukhari:7092
      Narrated Ibn `Umar:
I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) while he was facing the East, saying, "Verily! Afflictions are there, from where the side of the head of Satan comes out."
      sunnah.com/bukhari:7093
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said:
"Faith is Yemeni, and disbelief is from the direction of the EAST. Tranquility is for the people of sheep, and wickedness and Riya is in those who boast among the people of horses and the people of camels....sunnah.com/tirmidhi:2243
Now tell me who in the EAST boast among the people of horses and the people of camels? People from Najd in arabia!
      3. In the first Hadith mentioned above قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ ‏"‏‏.‏ " ( QARN-usheitan ) is mentioned. Interestingly Syyedina Mohammed (pbuh) said that Miqat point for Najd in Saudi is QARN :
Narrated Salim bin `Abdullah from his father:
I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "The Miqat for the people of Medina is Dhul-Hulaifa; for the people of Sham is Mahita; (i.e. Al-Juhfa); and for the people of Najd is QARN. And said Ibn `Umar, "They claim, but I did not hear personally, that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The Miqat for the people of Yemen is Yalamlam."
      sunnah.com/bukhari:1528
      4. Now look at this google map. Najd of Saud lies to EAST of Madinah, and Iraq is NORTH-EAST : aalequtub.files.wordpress.com/2019/12/13912697_1218930288140440_5976180288688380779_n.jpg
Conclusion: The Hadith of Najd speaks about najd of Arabia and none other najd anywhere else.So anyone who wants to save their akhirah, should repent from wahabism and come over to Sufism and join true Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamah aqeedah: www.ahlus-sunna.com

In all that he was given from fame, glory, praise amongst men, and even through the test and the trials of war and life, his praise always remained the same alhamdulilah. The giving up of self to Allah is the first step in the quest of knowledge, and I believe this is what all prophets were trying to make known in the preaching in the one-ness of Allah, that everything you give away Allah takes that and exceeds that which you give. Actually Sufism is at its peak in the Somali peninsula/Greater Somalia lands, the presence of sufism i this area has been over 1200 years, since the 9th century, the most important sufi group in african history, were the qadiriya sufis and the two qadiriya sufi african sheikhs in the 1800s were o ly found in Libya (the senussi) and Somalia (Dervish movement), the most famous Islamic scholar in sub saharan Africa who spread Islam in the 1800s, is the Somali Qadiriya sufi sheikh Uways Al Barawi, who even converted the rulers of Uganda, congo tribes, and parts of Tanzania to Islam

Somali scholars in medieval era had their own riwaaq Jabarti and riwaaq Zaylai learning sections at al Azhar and ummayad mosque
So we are already guided on the right path of Islam
And Somali sufis are of salihiya and qadiriya branch, they don't worship graves or ancestors all they do is chant Somali poetic Duas for the prophet Mohamed, and their own Somali scholars from 1000 years ago the ones who converted the Somali clans to Islam
And btw sufis in Somalia are small in number, majority are shaafi madhab and even our sufis don't do the innovations that other sufis do, go educate yourself on the history of Islam in Somalia and how ancient it is, masjid qiblatayn in Zeila alone is cited by historians to have been built before prophet Mohamed even moved to madina and later converted the Arabs, since the masjid qiblatayn in Zeila is the oldest mosque in Africa and outside the Arab world, which also has two qibla one facing Jerusalem other facing Mecca meaning Islam reached Somalia even before the ayat that commanded early minority small Muslims to start praying towards Mecca

Since the 19th Century a lot has changed in the mainstream ideologies of Islam around the world. Suffism is not a separate sect of Islam or a different religion ect. If you look back at the history of Islam, Sufism is rather just an "inward look at oneself" as a Muslim.
Two things change however, the rise of colonialism and Wahabism.
Colonialist could not work out how Tassawuf could possibly be the same as the literal teachings of the Quran (as in the art, poetry, ect that existed in regions of Arabia). So they decided to make it a completely different thing even though it was hand in hand.
Second, having a lot of Muslims who live a life believing in irrational superstition, making them too humble and apathetic means you don't have active participants in political changes taking place in the middle east... the rise of wahabism in Saudi and reform movements around the world (and their success) has meant that the role of Suffism has been seriously diminished.
...This is history and very important a long with our current understandings in the modern world.
