Not every sifism is same... every group have some sort of extreme through out the world.. sufism in Arab might be different than those in Pakistan (just an example), and he did say there are good ones... the problem is where ever we find faults, we keep labeling them into sects, and this is why too many sects in Islam... all muslims should be under one banner as Qur'an tells us to do, but we human beings makes things difficult for fellow human beings by categorizing into groups, eg look at the comments, u will find they are salafis wahabis n this n that, but does any any salafi would say im from salafi sects??? No. Its always others putting that label. And if someone tries to label themselves and thinks they're only on the right path and rest r misguided, then this is out of arrogance. ... hope everyone gets true teachings of Islam
Meanwhile my "sufi" sheikh spent more than half of his life studying islam (fiqh, and hadith etc. in Egypt. The big islamic university where you get doctorates in islamic studies. Our tariqa is based on Istighfar, salat un-nabi, and Laa ilaha ilallah. All of which can be found in Qur'an. You can't be on my Tariqa without the 5 pillars.

I think one scholar said that a real sufi never calls himself Sufi. And there are really different kinds of sufies especially in older times in places like Morocco etc.
I Agree ,there are sufi muslims Who are Upon sunnah and dont make any bidah. The problem Is not with the sufi ( Who actually did and do good a lot ) but we the concept of tariqa itself. In the early, Sheikh Abdur-Raheem Green said about the *_WRONG_* Sufism . The one who is *_EXTREMIST_* Sufi. There is also Sufi Sunni. Sheikh did say find the middle part. Other term for Sufi is Tasawwuf

Perhaps there may be some elements of Sufism that can amount to bidah, but I don't believe that sufism as a broad subject would entail anything that is directly against the Qur'an and sunnah. A mainstream Muslim can still greatly benefit from sufi elements to enhance their Ihsan and increase taqwa. We should not be so quick to judge and "otherise" groups, it's dangerous and leads to further division in this already broken ummah.
No elements in sufism can be said as bid'ah. I am talking about real sufism which you have never try to learn only listen from wahabism brand of Islam.
But many of todays sufis do a lot of innovations that are against islam.

Sufism is Tasawuf. Tasawuf is part of Islam. It's one of the way to purification your soul. Sufism usually continuously do the dhikr wherever they are to remembrance Allah and do salawat to the Messenger of Allah as a form of love for him. a Sufi continuously reads the Qur'an after prayer. From sufism i learn and i do a lot of sunnah worship of course after the obligatory worship. I continuing doing tahajjud in the mid of night as my Sunnah worship that should be practiced. Fasting is a Sufi's way to get closer to God. So a Sufi will usually often do sunnah fasting. a Sufi should also not pursue worldliness too much and live a simple life. a Sufi does not consider praying for someone over the grave of a dead person as worship. but as a form of visiting (ziarah) the dead. Things that are always labeled as bid'ah by the pseudo-salafis. In other words, I like Sufism as a way to get closer to God. a Sufi is not a monk confined to their monastery. but they have a teacher (sheikh) and an organization (tariqa) that becomes their circle. a Sufi can be a public figure that wear expensive clothes like a tuxedo. or it could be a beggar with ragged clothes. because the most important thing is to integrate and socialize with the surrounding community. It's not always ascetic in the mountains like a Buddhist monk. And the most important thing is that God judges people by what is in their hearts rather than what is seen on the outside. Wallahu A'lam.

Please take whatever you can from every Scholar you listen too. Every sheikh has their own opinions which aren’t wrong but just hard to understand. Dhikir is the single most important way to earn الله love. So many people don’t pray salah & learn Quran b/c they’re not taught the most connective way to get close to الله.

Haqq Dhikr Allah is mentioned more than Salah in the Quran, Al hamdulillah for my sheikh of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jammah a sufi of the Naqshbandiyah and a follower of quran and Sunnah and no bid’ah.

It's just a derogatory term, an empty label that no one subscribes to; it's in a way when someone has no response against your arguments and resorts calling you names instead. I think this scholar should increase his knowledge of Sufism. In fact, Sufis are not just random ignorant. They are indeed scholars. Just look at the story of Prophet Musa (Alaihis Salam) and Kidr which comes in Qur'an chapter 18. Prophet Musa (Alaihis Salam) was one of the five Ulul-Azm (the five best prophets), yet Allah commanded him to go and learn from someone who was not a prophet, whose source of knowledge was not from books but from experience with Allah. Also, take the account of Uwais Al-Qarni who was not even a sahabi, yet the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him asked some of the sahaba to ask him to pray for them when they meed him. All these were Sufis and there are a lot of other accounts and examples of Sufis contributing greatly to Islam.

Knowledge comes from both studying and experience.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: A group of three men came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet asking how the Prophet worshipped (Allah), and when they were informed about that, they considered their worship insufficient and said, "Where are we from the Prophet as his past and future sins have been forgiven." Then one of them said, "I will offer the prayer throughout the night forever." The other said, "I will fast throughout the year and will not break my fast." The third said, "I will keep away from the women and will not marry forever." Allah's Apostle came to them and said, "Are you the same people who said so-and-so? By Allah, I am more submissive to Allah and more afraid of Him than you; yet I fast and break my fast, I do sleep and I also marry women. So he who does not follow MY WAT in religion, IS NOT FROM ME (not one of my followers)." (Sahih Bukari Book #62, Hadith #1)

It is not right that Sufism is blamed squarely by Sh Abdur Rahim which, reflects more like a Salafi statement. No offence to any section of the Ummah, but it is well known, Salafis are well known for extreme views. Real Sufis do not get involved in ‘fitna’ or divisions and dissensions. I am disappointed that Sh Abdur Raheem has taken this outrightly dismissing stance about Sufism. To understand Sufism, Imam Al Gazali’s ‘Yahya Urumqi Ad Deen’ should be studied and understood.

I observed modern day Muslims like to compare themselves..one with the other. The fact is whether you're Sunni Muslims or Sufi Muslims or whatever etc..nobody is perfect. So stop comparing and judging others unless you love to be judged by others. Let Allah alone be The Judge for all things.
First of all there is a lack of knowledge for the majority of muslims. They cannot defer between the different Ulema. The trap of the mind is to divide. I'm right, you are wrong. My Sheikh said so and so etc. Islam seems to be simple, follow the Qur'an and Sunna, but... There are so many scolars with different opinions. And also you have some cultural input. So there should be no separation between a muslim from Africa practising Maliki Madhab and an Indian muslim belonging to the Deobandi. For me the tariqah is a muslim way of tassawuf and striving to clean the heart, but this is not meant for everyone. Ana jalisu man dzakarani 🙏
I believe all the answers are within us. Our souls know the reason we were put on earth but living in a physical body we need some sort of physical text to guide us to remember. Thats where the holy books such as the torah, bible and quraan come in handy. They re Introduce us to God. Seek knowledge but also seek it within you
That would be the most certain way to research God . Because external resources may or may not research one , but what is instilled within is always there . You see how as kids we all starts to question about existance that is the start of wisdom.

Rime No dear sister, our intellects lead us to the great signs of Allah, like u mention the Quran (the torah and gospels we have with us today on earth r distorted from original forms), and other miracles that were given to the Messenger ﷺ. However once we see the truth Alhamdulillah that is it from Allah, then we need to follow what is in the guidance; namely the Quran and Sunnah. Now comes the question how to interpret them? We look to the Quran and Sunnah, and we see the hadith “Upon you is my Sunnah, and the Sunnah of the Rightly guided caliphs after me” (authentic). Many other ayaat, like surah 9 ayah 100, surah 4 ayah 115. And ither narrations. So we take it upon yhe methodology, the creed (aqeedah), and understanding of these noble men and women, may Allah be pleased w them.

'Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. Knowledge does not just come from textual study. It also comes from practical experience. Both are essentials aspects of Islam. One should of course reject extremism but one should also be careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

The religion preached by all prophets from Adam to Muhammad (saws) is called islam. It's not Sufi or coffee.

What I know, sufisme is the straight path of Islam by following the footprint of Rasulullah in worship to Allah SWT. The core of sufisme value of practice is the true tauhid by throwing out every aspect of 'shirik' inside us, to get total meaning of 'kalimah syahadah', to build up the true value of relationship with our creator Allah SWT in our heart and soul that could progressively turn our behaviour into a better muslim and better servant without any contradicting to Alquran and sunnah tought. This is the practical way of struggling to clean our heart inside out by worship and pray harder in order to defeat the shirk, our nafs and all bad thing inside us with knowledge by the bless of Allah thru mystical experiences along the way. The most important that concerned is to become a better person near to Allah, obeying all HIS commands in every aspect of life. As for example of what the sufis always practice, Sufi teaches the followers, ' if someone give you something, Do say THANKS to the person who gave you, and be thankful/syukr to Allah for HIS mercy and HIS generosity of what being given'. It will show that Allah is always in Sufi's heart in every situation, in every single aspect of routine life. Waulahua'lam.

Knowledge comes from books but he doesn’t clarify where did our prophets knowledge comes from ? From books ? Did he not pray All night ? Was he not Extremely devout ? He showed us how to tame this body (beast ) and train the nafs and souls to perfection .
Funny how he talks about knowledge, then says the companions of the prophet pbuh didn't dance... yeah they did actually in certain cases. They weren't all serious people. The Prophet then said to Ja`far: 'You resemble me in my creation and my manners' (anta ashbahta khalqi wa khuluqi), whereupon Ja`far began to hop behind Zayd. The Prophet then said to me: 'You pertain to me and I pertain to you' (anta minni wa ana minka) whereupon I began to hop behind Ja`far.

This person thinks he's the all wise, all knowing being, maybe even a demi god or at least shares some of gods attributes astghfirullah. Uses the words "WISDOM", "qualified", "Masters"... reveals a lot of insecurity and has a sense of entitlement created by his ego to hide said deep insecurities. There are psychological studies about this kind of sects and cults that fit Sufism perfectly.

According to Hadith, fortunate is that person who is so busy with his own faults, that he has no time to think about the faults of others. Even if you see something we don’t like in someone, you may be guilty of the same thing, but are less likely to see it in yourself. Also, there may be a lot of good in the other person which you are not aware of. The fourth Imam (a) taught us to see every person we meet as better than ourselves. If they are younger, they have less sins. If they are older, they have more good deeds. If they are the same age, there is much we don’t know about them while we are painfully aware of our own sins and shortcomings.
Recite this verse when you interact with others in different spheres of life. Whether at home where even family members can be very different from each other, or in friends’ circles, mosques and communities, and in the outside society, remind yourself constantly of the principle outlined in this verse. People may be much better than you, so don’t judge or mock. It is a humbling realization, one that will keep you safe from vanity and egoism, the strongest traps of Shaytan.
