Love the story of dragon gate! So much so that I have a tattoo on my forearm of a koi which is in the process of transforming into a dragon,has a cross between a koi and dragons head ,has the body of a fish but with spines on its back instead of a dorsal fin

I think they're not just "Kikokuryu" but "Beni Kikokuryu". Let me write it in kanji, 「紅輝黒竜」. 紅 means "deep red". 輝 means "shining". 黒 means "black". 竜 means "Dragon". So overall, Beni Kikokuryu means "Deep red shining black dragon". I'm Japanese. I hope this will help you to understand the meaning of this koi's name.

I was looking at how sushi chefs sharpen knives and clean salmon and ended up on this page. These fish are cool. These dudes are informative too. I admire people that geek out on weird stuff. Pause the video at 6:14 and these fish don't look real. They look like an awesome painting. They are amazing. I so badly want a pond at my house. I need to start digging! What are your thoughts on above grade ponds...something similar to what's in this video. Maybe dig down some but then use railroad ties above grade as well to deepen the pond? I know it makes things less natural looking, but sometimes function > form.

I have 4 baby butterfly koi's I feed them the Laguna brand small pellets, sometimes they swallow it and spit it out, does that mean the pellets are off/ bad etc. Pls. help. ???

Hi sir i have 7-5-5 Size pond without any pump or filtaration machine so get my water full of green there is no clarity of fishesh appearence will suggest any machines or equipments which available in online in low price..(iam from India)
Here is a question, I know that Koi and the common Gold Fish are both part of the carp family. If you get a small enough Koi, can you keep it small so it stays in the pond you put it in, or will it eventually outgrow the pond you put it in?

Good day sir, I am, a koi keeper, would it be ok to put a "Pleco fish", (cat fish looking type of fish/ bottom dwellers), with the koi's in a pond or aquarium, cause I had heard that they eat fish poop, so in a way it helps to control waste in an aquarium/ pond etc. Like some fish keepers say. ???

you should see the beni kikokuryu aoki has breed this year, also aoki invented the fish, not some small farm, he created the name himself.

2:03 My koi has that same red dot! The coloration is so similar to mine. The colors are a bit different from my koi and mine is butterfly. I don't think mine is a Ki Kokuryu.

I have baby Gin Rin Sanke koi . And I name one Ryoko and Yakuma . Ryoko means Dragon And Yakuma ( samurai name for 8 Clouds Great Spirit )

okkoem Glad you noticed! It is a very expensive camera!!! CanonEOS and the lenses are crazy money too!! My Producer is very particular about his equipment. We are using an 18 millimeter lens in this video. You will notice during our How To build a Koi Pond Series we purchased a 50 millimeter lens so we coming out with different perspectives! We love this!!!!
