Once of the nicest and down to earth guys in music. He's a Christian who plays golf. He never wanted a boring show, so hence, the Godfather of shock rock!
Love Alice Cooper. Y’all should react to three of his other songs Eighteen, schools out, and for his softer side react to I never cry. This is one I think Amber would like. I think Jay would love schools out.
You gotta hit his classics. 'I'm Eighteen', 'Under my Wheels', "Be My Lover', 'Schools Out', 'Elected', 'Only Women Bleed', 'You and Me', 'How you Gonna see me Now', and 'Welcome to My Nightmare'. Of the more modern stuff I'd recommend 'Lost in America', 'I got a Line on You' Deeper cuts would be "Is it my Body?', ''Desparado'(not the Eagle's song), 'Pain', 'Perfect', 'Man of the Year', 'Sanctuary', 'What Baby Wants'(a duet where Kesha plays the devil) The main thing you have to understand is Alice that is singing is a character, and a bad guy. He pays for his evil at the end of every live show, by his execution. Because the Alice character isn't redeemable. Alice Cooper the performer, on the other hand, has done a lot of good in the world. Stands as an example of how to be a rock-n-roll animal, without destroying yourself. He's been married to the same woman since 1976. She was a dancer in his "Welcome to my NIghtmare" tour, lol He's still doing a lot of shows every year, and delivers!
Alice Cooper is a complex rocker. The father of shock rock, add in Ozzy and bang. Please check out a different side of Alice with his song Only Women Bleed. It's him addressing domestic violence and a tender side of Alice Cooper. The lyric video is best in this incidence because it's the studio version.
Alice was on The Headbangers Ball back in the day. He told a story about a trip he had taken. He was on an overseas flight where the person sitting next to him was a little old lady. She told him her grandson loved his music and they chatted for a bit before she told him she was going to take a nap and not to let them wake her for dinner. When the plane landed they went to wake her up and she had passed away in her sleep. He waited with her until the paramedics came to get her. He was very sweet but joked to the host that the only thing he wished he had thought to do was put two bite marks on her neck. I remember laughing at the thought
One of the masters of Shock ROCK!!! But a devoted Christian. Puts on a Great Theatrical Show. A lot like band's like KISS, Meat Loaf and W.A.S.P. to name a few.
I am a senior and live in Windsor Ontario 1 mile from Detroit where Alice is from. Love this band. Try Schols out for sumer. Saw him Live in Windsor and Detroit. Thanks
Alice Cooper is known as one if the friendliest, realistic and kindest rock stars in the world. He absolutely loves his fans and rarely turns them away from an autograph and quick exchange. He lives an ordinary life, in that he actually has been seen many times doing his own shopping at Walmart and ordinary diners. He's not afraid of the public. He's very graceful with his position. I'm as much a fan of Vincent the man as much as Alice the Cooper!!
I love when the pictures of him working soup kitchens or other charities come out. They show that his job is as an entertainer, but he is really all about helping his fellow humans.
@@stevemurrell6167Some people are smart enough to know they don't know everything. I learned a good bit when I passed away in 97 from blood loss. Still don't know it all, sometimes we have to admit there are things we just cannot understand, maybe you will run into them one day.
Alice Cooper is SO GOOD in all his eras. The Welcome to My Nightmare album will show you more of his shock rock with jazz/cabaret side. Please keep going on the Coop!!!!
As kid I was always on the look out for anything new or different. Alice Cooper entered my collection with "schools out" but the one which I always come back to is "Hello Hooray". It's a song which would be on every mix tape I made. I Loved it. Still do. A bit beyond rock, almost into the theatrical, but very in character. Try it if you wish. Hoping you and yours are and remain well.
Alice Cooper is one of the Gods of Rock music. You should look to watch videos from his time in the 70's. He used to and still does a theatrical act in all the concerts with fire, a guillotine where he simulates a decapitation, he went on stage with snakes on his neck, and things like that, that's why he is one of the pioneers of what is known called "Shock Rock", along Arthur Brown, 70's Iggy Pop, W.A.S.P., and GWAR.
That is also Joe Satriani on guitar on this song and in the video. This album featured a lot of other rock artists. On the song Feed my Frankenstein you get Joe Satriani and Steve Vai on the same song. Both these guys are guitar gods. Joe Satriani “Satch” has played with a lot of bands, lately with Sammy Hagar in the band Chickenfoot. You guys know Steve Vai from his time with David Lee Roth, and he was the devil in the movie Crossroads that you guys did. He also played in Whitesnake. And something pretty wild is that Vai was a guitar student of Satch. Another person that Satch taught guitar to is Kirk Hammett, guitarist from Metallica.
Joe Satriani is all over this album playing guitar. Joe was a teacher for Steve Vie from David Lee Roth's band and Kirk Hammett of Metallica. He is mostly an instrumentalist so if you want to check that, "Surfing with the Alien" is a great place to start. If you would rather vocals also maybe try "Big Bad Moon".
Alice Copper you saved my life do to my job and personal life i had to hear that song from the movie frozen [let it go ] several times a day for 2 years. To keep from losing my mind I started to pretend it was sung by Alice Cooper. Now I'd like to hear a cover by Alice Cooper. If your out there Alice Copper please cover that song from Frozen❤
This is the album where Alice started to come-back, musically. The REAL Alice "comeback train" started rolling on the conjoined albums: Brutal Planet and Dragontown. ...really, you need to check out his only '90s album [The Last Temptation] which featured 2 songs he co-wrote with Chris Cornell (who, also, sings on them!) 🤘🤘. AND: the ORIGINAL ALICE COOPER [BAND!] 1969-1973 [active since: 1964, recording albums (BRILLIANT albums!) from: '69-'73 (before "Alice" appropriated the name of the band as: a character!🙄🤦🤷). I bought my first ever album in the early 1970's it was Billion Dolkar Babies, the dubgle reminds me of school discos. Schools Out is still huge now and it's still the last song performed by Alice Cooper live today, yes today he is 75 years old and his band is still killing it. He still has snakes in his act and is guillotined every night onstage , it's shock rock. He used to be feared and everyone wanted to bam him. My mother lost thd plot when I went home with that album. I'm gonna see him in October in the UK. Behind the persona he is a Christian a God fearing man who raises loads of money for charities and getting kids back on track. Alice Cooper rules !
I'm waiting for them to do Wayne's World for a while now. Party time, excellent. And you are right, the scene where they worship Alice and the way he reacts... hilarious.
I'm so lucky to live in Windsor. From Motown, to Blues, to Rock. Bob Segar and Alice was my music. Saw both of them in Windsor bars in the early and knew they were stars.
I’m from Windsor too!! It was great having Detroit right across the river. World class anything (sports, music, entertainment,) then back across the Ambassador Bridge home.
This whole album is amazing. Love's a Loaded Gun, Feed My Frankenstein, Burning Our Bed, etc. The whole album. Just flip through it sometime. I think y'all will like it. Excellent review.
I actually haven’t seen that video or heard that song! I have heard a few Alice Cooper and know he is very good, amazing, actually! This was definitely great with the lyrics and the video was awesome!❤❤ Glad you guys reacted to it! Thanks Jay and Amber!👍👍
Used to go see Alice when they were still just a bar band. They'd play these small rock clubs in Cleveland. Even then, Alice would bring an entire show. There was nothing like them anywhere. Me and my musician friends never missed a show. He and I had a beer together at a small venue. Vincent Furnier couldn't have been a nicer human being. Much respect for the man. Jay/Amber, a must-do Cooper tune is Ballad of Dwight Fry. I think it's brilliant and the performance of it was off the charts huge! Love you both. Hope all is well. God bless you and my entire family here.
Believe it or not, Alice was a neighbor and friend of Groucho Marx and the two would watch old movies and drink beer all night when Groucho had insomnia.
I Never Cry is an acoustic Alice Cooper song, and his best selling single. It's about his struggle with Alcoholism. Its a very vulnerable side of Alice I think you will find appealing.
Alice had a lot of hits in the 70s. He didn't do a lot in the 80s... He got married and then almost divorced due to his alcohol and drug use. He cleaned himself up and then actually started trying to help other rockers. This song was on his comeback album by the same name from 1991. It was a great album. He had 3-4 hits from it but really all the songs on the album were worth listening to. I got to see him a couple years ago for his Detroit Stories tour. He still puts on one of the greatest stage performances of anyone and he is in his 70s. Very theatrical with lots of costume changes... and he still ROCKS!!! 🤘🤘
There are so many songs that the band Alice Cooper released, mostly in the 70's before he went solo. I'll just list some of the highlights here. I'm Eighteen...Under My Wheels...School's Out...Hello Hooray...and Billion Dollar Babies (With guest vocalist Donovan). You can't go wrong with any of these.
Alice Cooper really is such a down to earth guy. Met him at a convention many years ago. My daughter was with me who was around 8 years old. He talked to her on her level and really was very nice to both of us. I have seen him many times in concert and each song is like a whole new stage production.
Yes, that was Ozzy and although he is not in the video, most of the lead guitar on this is Slash! Guitarist Joe Satriani is also playing on here and in the video!
Alice used "horror" to address actual human behavior and thinking! ...and he (importantly!) always had a sense of humor regarding horrific behavior and ideas (as opposed to THE MAJORITY of those who poke around with those things!!!-which, i.m.o., is what made/makes Alice tolerable!!). The band and he tended to use "weird & terrifying" to disarm and "divert focus, slightly" from (thereby, sometimes: increasing the impact and, sometimes, mollifying it, just enough!). This band, literally, INVENTED "shock rock." Highly recommended: band songs: "Is It My Body"; "Raped & Freezin'"; "Generation Landslide" 🔥🔥🔥 Solo albums to pay attention to: Flush The Fashion; Zipper Catches Skin; Dada; Special Forces ! 🤘🤘
"Everybody's Free to Ware Sunscreen (class of '97)" by Baz Luhrmann is very interesting. You've never done anything like it on the channel. Listening to it now, after 26 years, I understand how true it is.
His voice on his mellow songs like You and Me, How You Gonna See Me Now, I Never Cry, and Only Women Bleed, are totally different sounding than his harder stuff. You will be amazed!
Although Alice Cooper is known firstly for his music, he has accomplished so much more. He has been married to the same woman since 1977. She is a dancer, choreographer and children’s dance teacher and they have 3 children and grandchildren. He became sober in the 80’s and has been helping others ever since. He has been given the Stevie Ray Vaughan award for work helping other musicians through addiction recovery. He is a born again Christian, avid golfer who has played in numerous charity golf events , and founder of Solid Rock which is a faith-based organization whose mission is to make an everlasting difference in the lives of teens by helping them meet spiritual, economical, physical and social needs of teens in the community by offering a safe, engaging environment during non-school hours.
I grew up listening to Alice from the very first albums. Many think of Alice Cooper as "shock rock". And while his theatrics are a an important part of his stage act, his MUSIC and clever LYRICS are amazing and what really makes him special. And yes, as many others have said, Alice Coper is a Christian and genuine nice guy in real life.
His album Billion Dollar Babies was my favorite. Alice Cooper Aka Vincent Damon Furnier was his real name. His father was a minister. Alice Cooper is a Christian now not as wild and dark as at one time. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child, and the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
'Hey Stoopid' was the album title as well in 1991... The song had a strong anti-drug message (Alice Cooper had spent years as an alcoholic and drug addict... he finally got clean in the mid-80's) The song actually did feature Ozzy Osbourne (backing vocals), Slash (lead guitar from Guns N' Roses) and Joe Satriani (lead & rhythm guitar) ...Unfortunately, it sold less than the platinum album 'Trash' from 1989 (w/ the hit 'Poison') despite successful singles like 'Feed my Frankenstein'... "Love's a loaded gun"... and 'Hey Stoopid'... (It did well in the UK and Germany). Alice Cooper released a concept album 'The Last Temptation' in 1994 (w/ the singles 'Lost in America'... "It's me") but lack of music industry support hampered its sales and Cooper left the Epic Records label... Alice Cooper toured in the 90's and finally emerged in 2000 w/ the comeback album 'Brutal planet'.
The Hey Stoopid album is anything but a one-trick pale pony. "Feed My Frankenstein", "Love's a Loaded Gun", "Dangerous Tonight", "Might as Well Be on Mars", "Wind-Up Toy", ... It's a BLAST though unjustly underrecognized due to having been overshadowed by earlier classics like Billion Dollar Babies, Welcome to My Nightmare, etc., despite its strong songwriting and musicality.
I can speak from experience, the man can still sing. I was lucky enough to see him live last year, and he rocked like always! Alice Cooper was my first true crush, and he remains my first true crush and he remains my first true crush❤❤
Another great song from this album (1991) is "Love's A Loaded Gun". Yes, that was Ozzy! Elvira contributes a vocal line on "Feed My Frankenstein", and Robert "Freddy Krueger" Englund is on "Roses on White Lace". "Jon Bon Jovi has guest vocals on "Trash" as well. Alice has lots of friends :)
The first guitar solo was Slash. The guitarist with the silver guitar is Joe Satriani on the second solo. You caught the third guest, Ozzy, being vastly under used. The bassist Hugh McDonald's last album with Alice. He unofficially joined Bon Jovi and waited 24 years to be made an official member in 2016.
One of his darkest albums is Raise Your Fist and Yell. Especially Gail,Chop Chop Chop and Roses on White Lace. I had the privilege to see Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie on their Gruesome Twosome tour.
Hey Jay and Amber - for another great Alice Cooper song with a message - check out "Only Women Bleed". An amazing performer, but also a great human being behind the facepaint.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT YOU DID ANOTHER ALICE SONG AND THIS SONG TO BOOT!! I have been an Alice fan FOREVER! There are so many great songs of his to react too. This song came out in the early 90's after he appeared as a cameo in Wayne's World with his song "Feed My Frankenstein" ! One of the BEST and funniest scenes in the movie. This song is all about getting clean, getting off drugs and alcohol. And looking for help or turning to the Lord instead of taking the easy way out. Yes that whole message is there while making it entertaining and memorable. Yes that was Ozzy but Slash, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani were also on the track as well. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO MORE ALICE COOPER!! LOVED THIS!!
I worshipped Alice during my high school years when the album Billion Dollar Babies was hot. This is an Alice Cooper song I never heard before. I love it. Thanks Rob Squad. You have to do Alice's most iconic song Schools Out. My personal favorites are Hello Hooray and Elected. Only Women Bleed is amazing. You and Me is a beautiful love song.
Finally got back to Alice Cooper. This rabbit hole includes many great songs from this eclectic artist. React to the beginning with "I'm Eighteen", "Be My Lover", "School's Out", "Billion Dollar Babies" to name a few. Thanks. 😎
Love some Alice Cooper - especially songs like "Welcome to my Nightmare" and for a softer song that's awesome - "Only Women Bleed" about a woman in an abusive marriage. He always has a great time but his humanity is reflected in a lot of his words. ❣
You should check out "Bed of Nails" or "Love's a Loaded Gun" also. For example. If you prefer his 80's stuff which I perosnally do. Most seem to only suggest 70's here.
I will give an automatic Like any time you review Alice Cooper! You want an Alice Cooper love song? Try the song You and Me. You want a killer rock song? Go for the song Under My Wheels. How about an anti-spousal abuse song? Try Only Women Bleed. A song about Alice's feelings, when he was released from rehab? That would be How You Gonna See Me Now? You want a song that's just a party? I'd go for the song Elected. Alice is brilliant! Keep going. You have lots to discover!

We used You & Me for our wedding song.

Best love songs: You and Me. I never Cry. How You Gonna See Me Now. Best topic song: Only Women Bleed. So many choices
Same here
Agree. Clones is also fun and visionary.
"Schools Out" is what put this artist on the map.
One of the first Albums I ever bought was schools out the jacket had flaps on it that unfolded into a desk
I absolutely LOVE "Only Women Bleed" it's very soft for Alice Cooper but so sweet ❤
Yes!!! Powerful and moving song! 🤘😎
I loved absolutely loved lita ford's cover
I would call that solo track: RAW! 🤘🤘
Yes! And I would also like to throw "Only my heart talkin" to that as well. They will both love those when they get to them for sure
Yes! This song stopped me from doing away with myself as many others have said it did for them. Alice Cooper with the tough love 🖤🖤🖤
I'm glad you're still here. God bless.
So glad you're still here. You're worth the fight!
Happy that you are still here!!
Alice Cooper's "Welcome to my Nightmare", "Billion Dollar Babies" and "Go to Hell" are all great too . Sending good vibes!
Billion Dollar Babies…I remember learning every word to that song and cranking it up & singing.
Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies
Alice Cooper - Pain
Alice Cooper - Is It My Body
Alice Cooper - I Never Cry
Alice Cooper - Eighteen
Pain is a great song. So are the others, but surprised to see Pain pop up.
Only Woman Bleed, I Love The Dead
"Is It My Body" is an underappreciated gem!!!
[So is: "Raped & Freezin' "!]
(If you don't know it, you NEED to hear it!!!🔥🔥)
If prefer his 80's stuff. "Bed of Nails", "Love's a Loaded Gun", "He's Back (Man Behind the Mask)", "I Got A Line On You" etc.
I Never Cry makes me do just that. Terrific song.

I've seen Alice 3 times in concert, always a great show.
Alice Cooper was in the film Princess Of Darkness (1987) with Donald Pleasance. What a nice rocking song. Hey Stoopid has a whole new meaning.
Yes, that was Ozzy and although he is not in the video, most of the lead guitar on this is Slash! Guitarist Joe Satriani is also playing on here and in the video!
Alice Cooper:
1. Schools Out
2. I’m Eighteen
( come on school teachers ! Gotta do Schools Out)
Alice used "horror" to address actual human behavior and thinking!
...and he (importantly!) always had a sense of humor regarding horrific behavior and ideas (as opposed to THE MAJORITY of those who poke around with those things!!!-which, i.m.o., is what made/makes Alice tolerable!!).
The band and he tended to use "weird & terrifying" to disarm and "divert focus, slightly" from (thereby, sometimes: increasing the impact and, sometimes, mollifying it, just enough!).
This band, literally, INVENTED "shock rock."
Highly recommended:
band songs:
"Is It My Body";
"Raped & Freezin'";
"Generation Landslide" 🔥🔥🔥
Solo albums to pay attention to:
Flush The Fashion;
Zipper Catches Skin;
Dada;
Special Forces !
🤘🤘
A truly amazing Alice Cooper song you should look at is Might As Well Be on Mars. Power ballad, tremendous vocals and riffs. This song has it all.
Y’all have GOT to do “Might as Well Be On Mars” off that same album!!! I’m a huge Alice fan and that is my favorite song of his
School's Out. 18. Ballad of Dwight Fry, Only Women Bleed, Welcome to my Nightmare, Jets vs Alley Cat's, etc.
"Everybody's Free to Ware Sunscreen (class of '97)" by Baz Luhrmann is very interesting. You've never done anything like it on the channel. Listening to it now, after 26 years, I understand how true it is.
Schools out is my fave of Alice Cooper song. He's 75 years old now and still Rockin. 😎🎸👌
I just saw Alice Cooper live for the first time in October 2024. It was amazing! Great sound and great show.
Best anti-drug song ever!
Eric Singer, the drummer for Kiss the last twenty years killing it on the drums.
I went to his Welcome To My Nightmare tour...it was AMAZING!
He's actually anything but dark in person.
He's a real sweetheart
Alice Cooper is a musical genius.
His voice on his mellow songs like You and Me, How You Gonna See Me Now, I Never Cry, and Only Women Bleed, are totally different sounding than his harder stuff. You will be amazed!
The best Alice is 70s Alice!
Billion Dollar Babies, School's Out, I'm Eighteen, Elected, Muscle of Love 🤘🏻
One of my favorite songs by AC is "How you gonna see me now" from my all time favorite album by AC "From The Inside"
"Schools out" is an iconic hit of his
Alice Cooper Rocks 🤘🔥
A wealth of great music, intelligent lyrics and messages. Hope you continue to check out more.
My favorite Alice Cooper song it "Might as well be on Mars".
Not heard this one before. What a wonderful way to get a message across. Wish i had heard it, it might have stopped me doing stupid stuff. ❤❤
His music catalog is so vast it’s a rabbit hole y’all would enjoy going through.
Schools Out is his most famous song. That is a must you should listen to
Listen to Alice Cooper's ballad I Never Cry
The first guitar solo was Slash.
The guitarist with the silver guitar is Joe Satriani on the second solo.
You caught the third guest, Ozzy, being vastly under used.
The bassist Hugh McDonald's last album with Alice. He unofficially joined Bon Jovi and waited 24 years to be made an official member in 2016.
This song is fantastic ! I miss so much this era 🤘🙏🤪
been to about 20 Alice Cooper concerts! been a life long fan!!
One of his darkest albums is Raise Your Fist and Yell. Especially Gail,Chop Chop Chop and Roses on White Lace. I had the privilege to see Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie on their Gruesome Twosome tour.
Cooper always had some clean key changes in the whole chord progressions
Hey Jay and Amber - for another great Alice Cooper song with a message - check out "Only Women Bleed". An amazing performer, but also a great human being behind the facepaint.
School`s Out , Elected, Only Women Bleed, Under My Wheels..... you can`t miss with Alice Cooper
best song of alice cooper i really love it
Like Joeskalamera said, AC is a devout Christian. He does do some dark songs, but he's a really great artist and person.
Schools Out has been a standard high school anthem since it's release in 72 , all the songs mentioned are
I'm Eighteen and School's Out are a must for any Alice fan.
Desperado.........Dead Babies..........Ballad of Dwight Fry...........so many fantastic Alice songs!
Thanks. 😎
Alice Cooper is a LEGEND
Alice Cooper is definitely in a class by himself. He's really a very nice and intelligent person.
Guests on this song are Lance Bulen, Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, Vinnie Moore, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars (both of Mötley Crüe).
Love some Alice Cooper - especially songs like "Welcome to my Nightmare" and for a softer song that's awesome - "Only Women Bleed" about a woman in an abusive marriage. He always has a great time but his humanity is reflected in a lot of his words. ❣
My favorites of his, Brutal Planet, Little Things, Nothings Free, Bad Place Alone.
You should check out "Bed of Nails" or "Love's a Loaded Gun" also. For example. If you prefer his 80's stuff which I perosnally do. Most seem to only suggest 70's here.
