The downforce may slow it down a bit at higher speeds, but it really does seem very stable at 300 kph! So stable and nice and safe. That is a mighty vehicle.

I really love how you can hear everything, from the rocks hitting up against the underside of the car, to the engine startup sound, to the transmission changing gears behind you. It sounds so mechanical and raw. It's a very visceral, yet connected feel that we don't see in a lot of modern cars today.
Excellent review, Max! I had the privilege of driving a regular GT-R then a Nismo shortly afterwards a few years back. Very different cars; the ‘regular’ GT-R is brutal - but the Nismo is simply incredible. One of the rawest, most involving cars I’ve driven. Totally incredible thing!

i always thought the GT-R was something else especially the nismo. who cares if the Turbo S is faster and more luxurious. it lacks the "dinosaur" aspect and robustness and presence the GT-R will always have
When Max got on the autobahn, he put the suspension in Comfort mode then proceeded to go 317kph. Wow. I have not heard of putting it in Comfort setting when going that speed. What is the thinking there?
The thinking is that too stiff suspension can make the car bounce/skip, making it harder to control. Small imperfections in the road might unsettle the car, due to really stiff suspension. Putting it into comfort, will make suspension smooth the road surface feel. No need to use normal/race, because there are no sharp corners. For a race track, with"perfect" surface, race mode will suit it better.
@@NISMOSkylineGTR thanks! I have a Cayenne Turbo, when I launch it I have it all in Sport Plus, I may put the suspension in comfort if road is bumpy now. I also noticed the other day while driving on a mountain road with some ice and snow (and bumps) that the suspension was kind of bouncing me a bit and with the ice/snow I felt the vehicle lose grip a few times. Wondering if using comfort mode would stop that from happening?
@@MyWatchTherapy yes it is too stiff, comfort mode may help to soften the bounce and give more grip. It helps but not sure how far, depends on each car.
Since you have the chance to go that fast, it would be great if you can attach a camera looking al the rear spoiler, I really like the way those things bend with the air
I agree the car feels mechanical... Reverse turning u hear the lsd, start engine sound and gear engage sound. I don't use R suspension on normal roads..it can skip, scary... the split second no traction feel lol
Love this car. You can easily get them to 2000hp and they are so recognizable. (As you described in the video, the sound itself is unique for example) My only concern with them is, how reliable they are. They have a reputation for breaking here and there. I don't know how true that is but the car does feel "raw" and "always pushing its limits".
It car is very reliable for a supercar. Ofcourse maintenance is higher, but this car is way more reliable than cars of its similar performance like Audi R8, Porsche 911, Ferrari 488 etc

Is the 2020 and 2024 GTR have the same body? If not, when did it change? 2024 GTR has carbon-aluminum die-cast steel: a combination of carbon-fiber, die-cast aluminum, and steel.
Not a bad sound but it will never equal the sound of the screaming inline 6 with twin snails 😄 Also it’s not an “AWD system” but a 4WD system, it acts like a RWD until it needs the extra traction and starts transferring up to 50% engine torque to the front wheels (at least that’s how the R32, R33 and R34 GTRs worked).

Sounds like something's wrong with the starter motor on that car, I've never heard a sound like that come from a transmission on start up.
It's the mechanical sound from the bellhousing... normal for gtrs especially on older gens.
