@@abauer9865 There are another 2 filters in the tank. Its not a service item, only changed if there's ever problems but I'll be changing it over winter anyway.
I couldn't start my 2019 701E after winter storage. And this tiny filter was the issue! My problem got resolved 1h ago. @Twedymoto , than you for this helpful video, man.
I am going to do this soon, by disconnecting the fuel line where the filter is, do you need to empty the gas first from the gas tank ?? From your video there were no gas spilling. Your video is very helpful, thanks.
No, you don't need to empty the tank. Just unplug, change the filter then connect again. Turn the ignition on and off a few times to prime the fuel system and you should be fine. 👍
I think it's every 6000 miles according to the service list in the manual. It wasn't dirty as there's 2 filters in the fuel tank before this one. I have a video for those filters too :)
You should change it not long after new, as they can grab debris from the manufacturing process. Then whenev the manual says, or if you get dirty fuel and have an issue.
They're the stock husky ones. They look good but total garbage if you come off. Now using the husky hard parts hand guards, good value and very strong!
The in tank filters aren't a service item, it's not even on the schedule to be changed at certain intervals. It's only to be changed when problems occur! -_-
They were in spec mate. I think the right exhaust (closest to throttle grip) was a little tighter than the other but still within spec. It's had a beating over the last 4,000 miles so they may need adjusted on the next check.
@@Twedymoto David zap above says you don’t need to take air box out …. Well I am attempting to change my fuel screen now, and I cannot get to the quick disconnect! Either the air box has to come off or the fuel tank lifted up. What am I doing wrong because there is no way to get my hands in there? I think yours looked so easy because your air box is taken out already.
According to the service manual you should be able to do it without removing any panels! I think if you remove the rear left panel, you should be able to get to it a bit easier.

haha cheers dude, completely forgot to put it in the description!
@@Twedymoto do you ever replace the fuel filters or just the screens over the course of your ownership

@@Twedymoto Thank you for your tips on how to, ride safe !
Thanks for the vid! What is the service interval for this filter? Did yours look dirty and did you change it early? Thanks again

how did you manage to remove the old one 🤔
Wee screwdriver in it to pop it out. 👌
Just took mine out, for anyone who sees this you can use a screw, screw it in one thread and pull it out with your fingers.
Big thanks! For real.
Awesome thanks so much !
What hand guards are those?

Awesome,! Video of tank filters please!
That will be coming over winter :)
Think most dealers don’t even change the primary filter

@@Twedymoto I meant just the fuel screen!
fuel screeen not fuel filter
You don’t need to take the air box out to get to the fuel line.
Correct, but I was checking my valves and thought i'd do a video on the fuel filter at the same time. haha
Twedymoto how were they? In or out of spec?
