I gotta say I've been playing this game or versions of it for about a decade now. Your video got me to actually get into and love Voltorb Flip. It's so awesome.
Thanks for covering these games and going through all this work even for the Pokemon that aren't obtainable in game without trade. Soul Silver was my first ever pokemon game and even I never knew about half the stuff in the safari zone so it was cool to learn about all of those frustrating but interesting gimmicks. Looking forward to seeing more vids from you :)
I can’t believe this video hasn’t blown up. I’m back for like the fourth time in the last year, one of the best long form Pokémon videos to just have on and vibe to
to be honest I could listen to a video that describes all the Pokemon in each generation. it was fun just listening to you to describe how they are in this game
You really put in a lot of work for theese super long and super in depth videos. I love the content man. I'm honestly surprised you don't have more subs
Great video again man! Took me a few days to finish but I really like these kind of videos made me realize once again why HG/SS are so loved games truly fantastic games! Hopefully you gonna tackle spin offs in the future as well I also really enjoy the fact you are talking about the manga more people need to try it out
Colosseum is in the near future :p I have a playlist of all the Pokemon stuff so far and I've touched on a few samller spinoffs as well like Snap and TCG on the Gameboy!
Gosh darn. Good videos. I wanted some Pokemon retrospective as a background vid and it ended up being the main activoty for 3 hours. Liked, commented and subscribed.
People seem to like to do that haha we get that one a lot. Appreciate the listen and we are glad you enjoyed it, probably the hardest video type to make these Pokemon ones!!
My favourite Pokemon Remake from the return of the Bug Catching, Swarms, Night and Day Cycle and Trainer Phone Calls, the inclusion of Pokemon Crystal Content, the adding of the Battle Frontier, Pokeathlon, Safari Park and Walking Pokemon with some expansion on Lore, as well as the inclusion of Pokemon from Gen 3 and 4, this Game had everything. For me it was perfection, it was so perfect years later I rebought SoulSilver and still have it. I also hold hope we'll get a Switch (or the next Console) Version in the future.
I enjoyed this video, along with your various other Pokemon deep dives. Have to say, I was a little surprised that with all this detail you didn't talk about gym leader rematches at the dojo. It's probably just my skewed perspective that makes them so obvious a talking point, I spammed them like crazy to complete a nuzlocke of SS. But they are a fun addition to the game, and repeat endlessly for good XP. You even have little cutscenes when you get their numbers for your pokegear.
I had thrm in an earlier version but cut the segment to manage the length of the video some, same for the E4 rematches. Regret doin it but I didn't wanna comoletely lose people 😭🤣
This video is awesome and I wanna give you a lot of props! Just a point I want to clear up. Abilities like pure power, swift swim, Chlorophyll, etc all double the actual stat of the Pokémon and not the base stat. So while Medicham may have 60 base attack, at lvl 100 it is effectively a base 170 attack stat based on how the math works. So Medicham is actually quite good in story play through because it hits like a truck!
Yeah for sure, Medicham is a lot of fun casually. Also kinda forgot that those abilities worked that way so thanks for the clarification, things get lost in soemthing this dense lmao.
lmao okay, roar heavy metas it's gonna be pretty good, but largely it's format dependant and in-game virtually useless unless you're terrified of early route mammals growling
Not to mention a few gym leaders went on a shopping spree for new outfits. Sabrina got a major glow-up now sporting a more casual outfit, new hairstyle and wristbands that glow whenever she uses her psychic powers.
really enjoying this video. however, I did notice something mid-watch that I felt would be interesting to clear up. it's a bit of a misinterpretation with huge power. it doesn't double the base stat. it doubles the current attack stat. for example, lets take a level 50 azumarill and assume it has no attack evs with 31 ivs and a neutral nature. 70 attack. if it was double the base stat, it would end up with 120 attack with base 100 atk rather than 50. however, with huge power, it'd have 140 attack making it the same as base 120 attack. it gets even crazier if you have max attack evs with +atk nature (244 attack which would be base 152 attack) and is probably even more insane at level 100, but that's kinda irrelevant for ingame where evs are basically randomly put later on in a run. still definitely right about it being inferior to gyarados (to be fair, gyara is arguably one of the best ingame mons of all time due to intimidate, dragon dance, solid defensive typing, solid defensive and offensive stats, and great coverage with physical ice, water, and eq). I just thought it would be fun to clear up a misconception on huge power
Everyone says Whitney is easy but you still have to fight her Clefairy who constantly puts Pokemon to sleep then uses metronome then her Miltank who keep stomping which can make your Pokemon flinch and milk drink to fully heal. Even a fighting Pokemon can struggle against that.
2:54:28 Johto is to the West of Sinnoh, therefore all Shellos are West Sea. This is the same for Hoenn, two Japan based regions. Alola is Hawaii, and to the East of Japan and therefore Sinnoh, and so all Shellos are East Sea. Galar is England, and was chosen to be East of Sinnoh, so all Shellos are East Sea
I also found a nice combo with arcanine sunny day and chlorophyll eggecutor. You get a huge speed boost and no charge solar beam for four turns. Plus stab psychic can help you sweep
1:04:30 my HG gameplay DEPENDED on Girafarig so badly, I won't stand for the slander on my weird okapi looking fella 😤 Is it bad? Sure! But when none of my party could get a grip and actually do something in battle, Girafarig just Stomped everyone she came across without a care. Gave a good battle to Ho-oh so I could capture it lol It really depends on how you use Girafarig, really...use it as a normal stomper with some psychic and its a good guy to help in battles while trying to heal the others too... 😅 I lost my game but my Girafarig, Matcha, was absolutely the best. ❤
Poor Ledian... Such a GREAT design but useless Pokemon. With a REAL stat-spread, it could have been such a great Big/Fighting type with Iron Fist and access to the elemental punches, Mach Punch, Drain Punch, U-Turn, and Knock Off!!
Definitely the trainer card! No honestly Gyarados holo first edition was the first Pokemon card id ever seen and it's what got me into TCG back in 1998 but I've never gotten a decent pull. Love both the video game and TCG though😊
I hear your videos every single night to sleep - I fall asleep to HGSS and wake up to GSC. Are you planing on covering any more games in the future? I'd really love to get more of these - there are not many Pokémon video essays that are on your level so thank you for doing these
@@traiges414 I'm slowly wprking on voiceover for RSE so expect rhat fairly soon :) ORAS is a ways off but also im production. I also have a Colosseum video partially produced that will release when I'm less busy :)
Of course I’m biased but these remakes really feel like the cherry on top of the classic Pokemon games. You could argue gen 3 was where the series changed too much, but I feel that gens 3 and 4 are like Dragon Ball Z if gens 1 and 2 are like Dragon Ball, if that makes sense. I tried getting into gen 5 but for me the gba/ds lite style sprites are far more charming than the technically graphically superior later games.
Idk why you harped on yourself for your coverage in this video. It’s solid and I watched the whole thing. Lol. I’ll probably watch it again tonight to fall asleep Lolol. No offense.
As a feraligatr enthusiast, the best move set is: Earthquake Aqua tail Ice fang Crunch Superpower can help too but it’s kind of a shit move, I wish they’d given it close combat instead
I know that you're busy, but have u ever thought about making a retrospective of the Spaceworld Demo 97 (i know they're plenty vids in YT about it, but they're kinda cringe 😂)?
thanks this has been wonderful to have all this documented in video! I didn't try the safari zone. Would you have enjoyed Safari more if it was just like a regular area with normal battles?
Probably. The Safari Zone is kinda a mess in general because of the gimmick. Pokémon usually has se decent strategy when it comes to catching and battling, with ball choice, ways to spread status and safely reduce health. When you strip all that back it kinda just devolves into tedium. The dozen odd weeks requirement and frankly bafflingly obtuse item requirement stuff I also just too much to figure out, honestly. I don't think the safari could ever be fully done without it. If it was one issue or the other it might be alright but it's kinda a worst of both worlds, although I've admittedly never liked thr Safari in any incarnation
Found this as I get within 30 mons of completing the national dex in the soulsilver save I've had since release day. Great stuff, top tier production value. One critique I have is that some information you mention (delcatty's line ability of normalize as an example) wasn't a thing in gen 4, but it's a small and incredibly niche error, so it doesn't matter in the long run.
@@ntmaproductions It's still by far the most comprehensive review of the games that I've seen. The only real thing i would add (which would be impossible in this case as you mentioned) is the pokewalker. There isn't that much material out there on it, much less anything nearly on the scale of this. I could definitely binge a bunch of these for other games like DPPt or RSE/FRLG, and you could reference the guides in these videos for future projects. Hope your next projects go as well as this one seems to.
@@TheTripleAce3 lmao, well the next one is coming sooner or later, but it'll be a while. i'll hopefully make less errors, but all the wiki paged in the world don't fix stupid
@@ntmaproductions I don't think anyone could blame you for taking a long break after this project. If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take to write out play and edit? The lead time on it had to be at least half a year.
Jumpluff is a mainstay on my Johto-only team, very underrated! Also, the *biggest* fumble of these remakes is omitting Kris and putting in Lyra. Kris's design and colourscheme was so cool, while Lyra is just boring.
Volt/Water Absorb heal 1/4 of your max HP, Zapdos doesn't learn Hurricane in Gen 4 because it doesn't exist yet and it doesn't even learn Air Slash, and Milotic doesn't have Competitive in Gen 4 because that doesn't exist til 6. I think there were a handful of other mistakes but I can't remember them. Proofread a bit more on abilities
I pity Ledian coz it looks like a super hero like that Ladybug girl. It should had some cool fighting moves and Bug buzz and U-turn to make a surprise attack and switch to an ally.
@@ntmaproductions I think pokemon like that needs a third evolution coz an evolved pokemon should mean its more powerful than the last form. Basic Digimon logic. It should like be the counter part of that Orbeetle. As Ledian the hero and Orbeetle is the villain. And Orbeetle gets 3 evolutions. Feel like Ledian's evolution would be the hero to defeat the mad scientist.
Rihorns final evolution really looks ugly. Gen 4 went a little overboard with evolution and I wish the Beta Designs were kept for those who had one. Weavile is my favorite tho. And it was advertised a lot with the animators knowing people will like it just as much as Munchlax. But I do like Tangrowth's design. Kingdra is very neat now that it can abuse its 95 base physical attack too. But Outrage is likely not as accessable. Maybe it can go for some mixed rain strats while worn down from Draco Meteor. I agree with you regarding the game pushing the legendary Pokemon encounter. If it were optional like in the old games, they would feel more special. But I am glad they got their own soundtrack if anything. Kinda weird that HGSS focused so much on new gen evolutions to be accessable but Silver never evolves his Sneasel. I would have hoped he would do that considering even Blue changed his team in the FRLG remakes in the postgame. Guess having a post post game would feel even more weird for the developers. Similary Red replaces his only Johto Pokemon which was an evolution of a Kanto Pokemon for another Kanto Pokemon Lapras. Probably because of it hailing in the top of the mountain crippling his team for the most part. I just don't like how the game focused on exploring and trying to uncover completely new Pokemon ends up regressing Red's team for Kanto representation sake. He is on Mt Silver which has bunch of undiscovered Pokemon. And he doesn't bother to use any of them. Surprised Porygon doesn't get split evolution considering it can be affected by Discs. I love how you embrace the KANTOOOOO meme with Charmander. Maybe we can see some RBY and FRLG content? Can't imagine how you would handle Gen 7 once you talk about it if you do. Maybe the video will be twice as long as this one.
Rhyperior is cool in an ugly way. I think se of them are a bit weaker, but largely not so bad. Kingdra gets real nasty in rain in gen 5. Really strong typing and great when wet. New music anttime is appreciated, but I really don't see why you need to get Lugia or Ho-oh, it's reallly awkward and pace breaking especially if you'd rather not. Silver's Sneasel is a bit odd. You'd think thebIndigo Plateau rematch would have one, but we got leader rematch teams so I'm fine with it. Red is cool by me too, the hail thing adds a layer to it, even if I would've loved to see Espeon come back, and the Mt. Silver redesign is great. I got a poll on the community tab for more Pokemon. Gen 1 and 5 are heated togehter but 1 does seem to be edging out. We'll see.
Really great series you have going on here. HGSS kicks ass in a lot of ways but I almost forgot how the series’s visuals mostly peaked here and arguably in 5th Gen (which has some higher highs but lower lows imo) I stopped playing new entries after USUM and while the 3ds entries look decent it’s really a shame how hideous most of the switch titles look based on the footage I’ve seen of them. Pokémon was never a graphical powerhouse but for all their visual shortcomings the games have always been really nice and easy on the eyes. Just can’t wrap my head around the games being developed for increasingly more powerful hardware and somehow looking worse than they did 14 years ago.
@@SenorPuffball TPCI has strict deadlines that are immovably tied to anime and merch (card) releases which makes everything a rush job. Rushed 2D is less work than rushed 3D.
@ I sympathize with the devs for sure on that front but it is still disappointing for what’s supposed to be one of Nintendo’s marquee franchises. It’s not really something I dwell on though. Voted with my wallet and didn’t bother with any of the switch titles. Only real regret with that is not being able to experience the heavily streamlined process of getting competitive ready Pokémon. Spent way too many hours in gen 6 especially IV breeding lol
The Arceus Event were you can get a *Level 1* Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina has to be the single-greatest event in Pokémon history for me. I LOVE the idea of training legendary/mythical Pokémon from such a low level. I know it’s generally frowned upon in the Pokémon community to even *use* these Pokémon… but I say F*CK ‘EM! It’s *because* no one uses them is why I find playing through a whole game with one at its weakest, and training it up, so inviting!
@@ntmaproductions Honestly, I’d just trade it to a new game. Yeah it won’t obey you for a while and it’ll get extra Exp, but: 1) Needing to *earn* the “little guy’s” obedience until after the first Gym Badge makes logical sense to me. 2) The mere threat of leveling up past a certain Badge’s cap would de-incentivize grinding/overlevelling, *especially* with that extra exp, but legendaries typically level at the pace of molasses anyway; who knows, they might even need it.
@@Deoxys_Used_Mimic I feel prettt confident that if you took one at level 1 after the first gym (earliest point you can) that it would level up so slowly that it would never push up against the level cap if you were playing even remotely normally. I went through the game with stuff in medium level up groups that were struggling to keep up lmao, bigger concern I suppose would be that Dialga and Palkia have pretty insane types, especially Dialga before Steel nerf and Fairy type intro. Virtually nothing threatens Dialga and Palkia's first push would be Clair then Lance- Giratina at least struggles against Morty hyptothetically
I have always loved the Johto region and exactly because of that I can't bring myself to love HGSS. The potential the games had was tremendous but the level curve and the strange pokemon placement unfortunately just ruins the game for me
So running actually doesn't increase encounter odds, I used to think this too, but I just watched a video like last week where someone wanted to see what the increased odds was.. they did 100 laps around mt moon, 100 running and 100 walking and it was like 97 encounters running and 98 walking so its got no effect, at least in FRLG could be different in different games
Anyone here hate low catch rates? Yeah for something like a legendary it’s understandable but would you really expect a quillfish to have a frustratingly low catch rate?
@@ntmaproductions Ah yes I remember in pokemon sun I was trying to see how many pokemon I could obtain on a single version. That damn murkrow took at least ten of my ultra balls before finally deciding to be caught.
@@ntmaproductions also speaking of sun and moon and the ultra versions I soon realized how powerful the poke paradise mechanic was. I can basically farm leppa and lum berries as well as various friendship berries. On top of that I can keep getting evolution stones and thus I don’t need to worry about having to save them for just one pokemon. Also rare treasure hunting…All I’m gonna say if you routinely use that then in the long run you can expect to be swimming in cash.
22:05 static's field use is also useful for shiny hunting, like say the ampharos line (or at least, mareep and flaaffy cause ampharos itself, outside of spinoffs such as the ranger trilogy, has never been available in the wild) on route 42
The only thing I don't really like about these games is that they didn't fix the level curve, or the kanto wild pokèmon problem..... or the lack of johto mons in johto.. otherwise great games lol i prefer to play these ones with a max of 4 mons due to the level curve
I am so sick of the flaron hate, his special attack is 95, that is not bad, a flamethrower can still hit pretty damn hard, the huge attack just helps when using non-stab physical moves, bite (early game), crunch, take down and iron tail (late game)... Obv wish there was more Physcial fire moves, but acting like he is useless is crazy, espically when there is not a bunch of fire types, i'd much rather relay on a somewhat fast, flaron then you're Slugma or Houndoom which you can only get in Kanto
We love Flareon, but objectively he got the short end of the Eevee stick when others got their minmaxing in far more relevant stats. It's not that Flareon is dead unusable, despite how I may sound, just that it's stuck in an awkward position. Gen 4 was a nice turning point for it thanks to the Physical Special split giving it more to work with, even if it's still underhwelming, but it also needs to live in the shadow of Arcanine, umfortunately.
Fair enough, I did forget about Acainine, that thing is beast, intermediate is no joke! And i think learns flamethrower somewhat early if you wait to use the fire stone.. Cannto wait to watch more of these videos, hope I didn't come across as too aggressive, just had to defend my fav eevee evolution!@@ntmaproductions
Im disappointed that they show Oak at start of the game like ain't we suppose to follow Professor Elm in Johto? Why Oak. We already had him in Kanto, let us have Elm. Elm doesn't get to shine so often. This should be Elm's spotlight not Oak's.
I may be in the minority here, but despite me usually being a big fan of these multiple hour retrospective videos, I really didn’t think this video was that great. It was less of an entire retrospective and evaluation, and more of you just going through the Pokédex of this particular game and describing each Pokémon and it’s abilities. Someone who is clicking on a 3-hour Pokémon video probably already has a fair understanding of the stats and typing of each Mon, and doing that for every single one in the game (and not in the game) just feels like padding. I feel like a more purposeful retrospective would delve further into aspects like the story or characters or the map design. A good example of this would be like ShayMay’s 7-hour retrospective of Omega Ruby, where he provides a thorough and nuanced look at every aspect of the game design including the difficulty, design of the region, plot, etc. Instead, this just feels like stats and info being read off of Bulbapedia or Serebii as you look through what Pokémon are available on each route. If that’s what you were going for, then more power to you. I feel as a retrospective though, the purpose of this video comes off as a tad confused. I apologize if any of this comes off as rude of harsh, I mean this more as constructive criticism, as a retrospective this just seems a little directionless.
wrt what i meant to do i intended talking about so many pokemon to be kinda an interesting look at how routes were designed but i think its fairly messy? there's lots of other things I regret in going so far in depth on and other mistakes I hope to clear up and make more concise with the rby video that's coming out soonish. always good to hear feedback
@@ntmaproductions If you are looking for inspiration or structure for a future retrospective in this style, I’d recommend checking the aforementioned 7-hour analysis video ShayMay made about Omega Ruby. It’s similar in style, going from each gameplay beat and moment of the story and reviewing every little part as he plays, but it’s a little more fleshed out and resolute in what it is actually covering and evaluating like I had mentioned before. Of course, I wouldn’t copy it verbatim and totally feel free to put your own spin on it. I may be a little biased, having watched it fairly recently (I have been on a bit of a binge in terms of these longer retrospectives, which is probably how I found your video) but I just thought it was solid and very well thought out.
@@carsonswitalski9098 Yeah it's a good video, I've seen it a few times. It was definitely something I wanted but I also find Pokemon design interesting and wanted to highlight that but did it in weird ways and I'm workin on making it less clunky next time around. There's some regrettable moments in this one especially that I'm trying to improve on lmao.
Going into detail about what a Pokemon can do was good but I think you should've kept it to the Mons you'd normally encounter in Johto. The Mons from the Sounds radio is alright cuz you can get and use them but going through every Pokemon in the gen added a lot of long winded segments to the video. I think your spacing of it was great when it was area to area, like you'd talk about Mons from one route as well as items or events at a route, but having entire brick sections of it felt way too long and not relevant to the video. The balance of area, events, Pokemon, etc together bit by bit was perfect
Passing by once more to remind anyone reading, this is the best HG/SS retrospective.
I’m inclined to agree lol, no but thank you.
You should do this for every gen and milk all of us pokéfans bc we absolutely love this shit

HGSS was really nice to Typhlosion line. You can give it Coal and with Blaze and the TM38 you can buy at Goldenrod you can 1HKO Whitney's nerfed Miltank... its insane.
Totodile still has it nice. Physical Ice Fang, Bite, Crunch and Waterfall really gives it an age in this game over the other starters. And you still can use Surf midgame which is insane.

I find it odd gambling is removed in games but micro transaction in modern games are fine.
Arcanine may be pretty good in HG. Depending how long you want to wait to evolve it, you can teach it some really good physical moves. Flamewheel and Crunch are nice and Flare Blitz hits like a truck. If you just running for fun, Arcanine has a pretty impressive Special Attack for what is known a Special Attacker. I gotta say I've been playing this game or versions of it for about a decade now. Your video got me to actually get into and love Voltorb Flip. It's so awesome.
HAHAHA. I love this. The first steps are prrtty hard, it's intimidating from a glance but it's fun as hell.

Absolutely amazing video. Super informative, while being entertaining at the same time.
Great video! Your narration and way you laid out information was very engaging. This definitely helped make working in a office, more barrable.
Man, the love that these games can bring out in poke fans. This is a full length movie that im gonna LOVE going through on my lunch breaks.
Thanks for covering these games and going through all this work even for the Pokemon that aren't obtainable in game without trade. Soul Silver was my first ever pokemon game and even I never knew about half the stuff in the safari zone so it was cool to learn about all of those frustrating but interesting gimmicks. I can’t believe this video hasn’t blown up. I’m back for like the fourth time in the last year, one of the best long form Pokémon videos to just have on and vibe to

You really put in a lot of work for theese super long and super in depth videos. I love the content man. I'm honestly surprised you don't have more subs
Lmao, thank you. I'm plugging away at the sequel... er, prequel, so that's exciting.
Great video again man! Took me a few days to finish but I really like these kind of videos made me realize once again why HG/SS are so loved games truly fantastic games!
Hopefully you gonna tackle spin offs in the future as well
I also really enjoy the fact you are talking about the manga more people need to try it out
Colosseum is in the near future :p I have a playlist of all the Pokemon stuff so far and I've touched on a few samller spinoffs as well like Snap and TCG on the Gameboy!
Gosh darn. Good videos. I wanted some Pokemon retrospective as a background vid and it ended up being the main activoty for 3 hours. Liked, commented and subscribed.

Thank you for this video years later and I’m listening at my boring ass job and it’s making my morning more bearable 🙏🏻
People seem to like to do that haha we get that one a lot. Appreciate the listen and we are glad you enjoyed it, probably the hardest video type to make these Pokemon ones!!
This video was definitely worth the time and effort it took to make. Great job.
I love gen 2 and HGSS so much even if it has obvious issues
@@aster4jaden I would love to see these games pulled forward, they are... basically perfect lmao
Great vid, this is like a audio strategy guide.
BEST. POKEMON. REMAKE. EVER. No contest.
easily.
"soundproof is funny but to situational"
Gen 3 baton pass meta would like a word
lmao okay, roar heavy metas it's gonna be pretty good, but largely it's format dependant and in-game virtually useless unless you're terrified of early route mammals growling
great vid had to sub keep up the good work
thank you!!
Not to mention a few gym leaders went on a shopping spree for new outfits. Sabrina got a major glow-up now sporting a more casual outfit, new hairstyle and wristbands that glow whenever she uses her psychic powers.
True, everyone out here lookin snazzy, especially Morty
I’m sure you already know this, but depending on your actions, you can encounter Suicune before Misty. Which happened on my first playthrough.
really enjoying this video. however, I did notice something mid-watch that I felt would be interesting to clear up. it's a bit of a misinterpretation with huge power. it doesn't double the base stat. it doubles the current attack stat. for example, lets take a level 50 azumarill and assume it has no attack evs with 31 ivs and a neutral nature. 70 attack. if it was double the base stat, it would end up with 120 attack with base 100 atk rather than 50. however, with huge power, it'd have 140 attack making it the same as base 120 attack. it gets even crazier if you have max attack evs with +atk nature (244 attack which would be base 152 attack) and is probably even more insane at level 100, but that's kinda irrelevant for ingame where evs are basically randomly put later on in a run. still definitely right about it being inferior to gyarados (to be fair, gyara is arguably one of the best ingame mons of all time due to intimidate, dragon dance, solid defensive typing, solid defensive and offensive stats, and great coverage with physical ice, water, and eq). I just thought it would be fun to clear up a misconception on huge power
You right, that math alsocapplies to other things like Swift Swim that double a stat.
Everyone says Whitney is easy but you still have to fight her Clefairy who constantly puts Pokemon to sleep then uses metronome then her Miltank who keep stomping which can make your Pokemon flinch and milk drink to fully heal. Even a fighting Pokemon can struggle against that.
true but it's still fairly overblown id you know what's coming. bad luck and a lack of female pokemon can be harsh but she's not some unending wall
@@ntmaproductions I'm not saying that. She makes most of my Pokémon sleep and flinch so no damage to her pokemon.
@@PeterParker-ff7ub Yeah, it can be a touch rough.
Second Pokémon game I ever played after Platinum
2:54:28 Johto is to the West of Sinnoh, therefore all Shellos are West Sea. This is the same for Hoenn, two Japan based regions. Alola is Hawaii, and to the East of Japan and therefore Sinnoh, and so all Shellos are East Sea. Galar is England, and was chosen to be East of Sinnoh, so all Shellos are East Sea
I know, but even if they hatch in Kanto they hatch West, regardless of parent- East Shellos breed into West Shellos in HGSS for some reason
This was amazing. Thank you

Same here man, is like listening to a audio strategy guide.
I tried getting into gen 5 but for me the gba/ds lite style sprites are far more charming than the technically graphically superior later games.

thanks this has been wonderful to have all this documented in video!
@@ntmaproductions thanks, appreciate you sharing that.
Great video!!
Found this as I get within 30 mons of completing the national dex in the soulsilver save I've had since release day. Great stuff, top tier production value.
One critique I have is that some information you mention (delcatty's line ability of normalize as an example) wasn't a thing in gen 4, but it's a small and incredibly niche error, so it doesn't matter in the long run.

yea i made a few errors throughout, i troed my best to disinclude the later gen abilities but sometimes I'd have a little momebt lmao

I pity Ledian coz it looks like a super hero like that Ladybug girl. It should had some cool fighting moves and Bug buzz and U-turn to make a surprise attack and switch to an ally.
he's a lil kamen rider which is why it gets a few ounching moves, too bad about the type... and the uh stats, and most of the movepool

Everyone loves abilities but they dont like any specific ones.
I have some abilities I love, Swift Swim, Intimidate, Solar Power, etc. ones that have unique twists that can be built around
We'll see.
>NTMA
I see what you did there
Really great series you have going on here.
Yeah it's a sick event. Would be fun to trigger it early and use one from basically the start of the game.
@@ntmaproductions
Honestly, I’d just trade it to a new game.
Yeah it won’t obey you for a while and it’ll get extra Exp, but:
1) Needing to *earn* the “little guy’s” obedience until after the first Gym Badge makes logical sense to me.
Virtually nothing threatens Dialga and Palkia's first push would be Clair then Lance- Giratina at least struggles against Morty hyptothetically

at least some of the johto mons get a little bit of space in the horrible safari zone

Fair enough, thanks for commenting regardless and there's a lot I'm looking to fix next time.
wrt what i meant to do i intended talking about so many pokemon to be kinda an interesting look at how routes were designed but i think its fairly messy? there's lots of other things I regret in going so far in depth on and other mistakes I hope to clear up and make more concise with the rby video that's coming out soonish. always good to hear feedback
That's fair. It felt pertinent at the time butI agree it was pribably a msitake lmao
You gotta learn to use breathing and pausing techniques way more
Old video but thanks
