I just want to correct one thing. There is a ninja reference in Mahogany town. The secret shop which is basically the entrance to the Johto Rocket HQ has a hidden staircase found and revealed by Lance. Real life Ninjas during their time actually uses a hidden trap door underneath the tatami or the thin wooden floor of their houses as a means of hiding weapons or connected to an underground tunnel as a means of fast escape. What do we see under the secret shop? Its not a tunnel but it is similar to the concept of a hidden path underneath. The game only used a stair sprite to help the player indicate that you could access it. Furthermore, remember the trap floor where you encounter a bunch of Koffings? Ninjas are well adept on using explosions, smokes and poisons as a means of distraction to help them escape. Koga uses Weezing because not only Weezing is a poison type, it also produces smoke which Ninjas love to use to escape. I kept saying escape I know. Ninja's main objective during their time was merely to spy and to gather info. They are never meant to fight or to kill. They only fight and kill as a last resort since if they fought and/or killed someone, it would leave a huge mark of their precense within the enemy territory. Something a ninja always avoids in a mission. (I learned all of this from Gaijin Goomba.)
A little fun fact I like is that in the original Gold and Silver you actually get to keep Kenya and he just takes the mail. Actually you have to give the mail to a different Pokémon but you still can keep Kenya so it works out.
If I remember correctly, there was a whole other part two guide for the Kanto post game. It was a lot thicker I if memory serves because it had the national dex.

edit2: i always pronounced it "eye-lex" forest but thats based off literally nothing but my child brain when crystal came out, i wouldnt be surprised if i had been saying it wrong my whole life too lol
I love how most, if not all, ongoing gags in the series are just from the Fire Red Nintended.
Fun Fact: There's a second, sequel book that does over the events of Kanto. I actually have it.
It comes with a poster woth all 493 pokemon, a guide for the battle frontier, and a detailed national pokedex with Learnsets, locations and even egg moves
Oooh, that's cool.
@@bippythechippy882 that's one I have
There is a 2nd guide which has the kanto part in it :)
I remember in Gold the text says you saw “???’s” name. So thats what 7 year old me named my rival. Good ole ???
So good to know I was not the only one!
5:10 That is the single best sentence I've seen in any guide ever.
Ever since I played gold/silver as a kid, Heracross has been my favorite Pokemon. And yeah, he's a champ in gen 2 and gen 6, no one picked up on it then because bug types were garbage in gen 1.
Well time to send my gen 2 team to poke bank and replay this game for the 6th time (it’s so much fun to try different teams)
A little fun fact I like is that in the original Gold and Silver you actually get to keep Kenya and he just takes the mail.
Actually you have to give the mail to a different Pokémon but you still can keep Kenya so it works out.
i learned the basics of pokemon through this book, so hopefully this goes well and shows the book holds up lol
If I remember correctly, there was a whole other part two guide for the Kanto post game. It was a lot thicker I if memory serves because it had the national dex.
Hey Sea when you hit 100k make sure to unbox the playbutton as intended
Just seeing that guide book awoke primal memories in me... It's like I'm playing through HG/SS for the first time all over again.
31:04 It's because of 'No Guard' the move Rock Slide hit
I love how you’re “hammering away” and “laying down the law”
I see a new video, I instantly hammer away the like button and comment. Thanks for all you do, PaPaSea!
I had only the second book of the two part official guide to HG/SS. Reading through it and studying the full Pokédex it had is a core childhood memory of mine.
I've watched so many of these videos by you right now I finally decided to hammer away at that subscribe button. Great videos man, having some good laughs in between here. Keep laying down the law and dispatching your enemies. And don't forget to Hammer Away.
Soul Silver was my first ever Pokémon game when i was 6 so it’s always going to hold a special place in my heart
I'm getting old.
The HGSS guide is actually in two different parts! I only have the book that goes with the Kanto Region :’ )
I only have the book that was used in the video
