I think those night-vision goggles saved Monk’s life in a different way; Brenner clearly could’ve killed Monk immediately after the lights turned back on, but Brenner left Monk alive because he looked so goofy in those goggles that Brenner let Monk live a few moments longer.
@@UA-camallowedmynametobestolen Right? Plus if you remember the episode where he goes blind, he boasts about how he already knows how many steps it takes him to get from point A to point B. He could a million percent navigate his own home
My theory was that this was probably a very highly tense situation. He does tend to get flustered when things beyond his control happen, but I could be wrong!
This is one of the few depictions of night vision and lights turned on to make sense. Most movies have lights turning on blinding the wearer, despite that not being accurate at all. The military wouldn't like soldiers being taken out of commission because someone shines a light at them
How many people know; that Captain Stottlemeyer of Monk was the Serial killer in Silence of the Lambs, wearing Night Goggles in the last scenes of the movie ? :) :)
"You have the right to remain silent, and I suggest you do so." Did Randy just flub the reading of the Miranda rights and thereby give the guy a legal loophole by which to escape justice? ... Probably not.
He was caught in an attempted murder situation and clearly had plenty of outstanding charges on him before. Miranda rights impact only what information he gives police while in custody. Its meant to prevent forced confessions being used in court, and is limited: if he had shouted out that he was guilty before the police read his rights - that would still be admissible
I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Monk has apparently not yet lost the ability to understand what "play" and "fast forward" are instead of "picture go regular" or "picture go fast"
This might be one of Randy's smartest moments

Or it's just plot armor since the show is called Monk haha
I just kind of assumed he knew he had been caught at that point since he was the one that turned them off.
the only thing I don't buy about the night vision goggles is that Monk definitely knows the layout of his house. Nothing's ever out of place
Yeah, that memory of his, I was wondering why he kept bumping into stuff.

If he was previously convicted, he would know them already. And I believe it isn’t actually mandatory.
IKR? I can navigate my apartment while the lights are off, even though *everything* is out of place

5:10 "Yeah, we could do that... or we could just arrest him."
I think if Randy's knew how much fun Monk was having, he'd want the lights off too.
I’m surprised Monk sleeps for 45 minutes a night. I would have thought 100 minutes.😉
Also, I just love Monk telling them to turn the lights back off.😂

I learned that a while ago but it still freaked me out.
Yep. This scene is the best inside joke of the whole series.
Would have been even more interesting if Monk said "These are night-vision goggles," and Stottlemeyer immediately said, "I know."

@@evancarignan5079 Thanks, Evan.
🤣🤣 maybe I'm a ghost 4:19
"A concert! He's supposed to be dead!" "Yeah, weird."
How does Monk go from knowing the proper term for fast-forward to saying "picture go fast"?
Lol Monk wearing the night vision goggles:)
With lights on, the night vision goggles turn blinding so this is unrealistic
Monk ordered the SPECIAL DELUX Night Vision Goggles...
Once the light turned on it should’ve hurt his eyes but it’s television so I get it 😂😂😂
Sherona: I'm at Adrian's house, somebody cut off his power
Also Sherona: The line's dead!
Me: 🤔🤣
Yeah I know she had a cell phone so I dont know why she didnt use it lol.
We later learned he’s a woody fan

Love this episode of Monk
Good thing Monk kept those goggles!! He could've gotten injured in the dark.
4:17 🤣
When Monk told Sharona to "freeze frame", my screen froze. That's not how it's supposed to work.
One of the few times Monk had fun
