Maybe nascars rain inaction is a reaction to the backlash against their daytona road course call Edit: and maybe complacency from the luck with rain at Atlanta
Yes. There was so much crying from fans when they brought out the yellow at Daytona for a light rain. And it was apparent that yesterday they thought it was going to keep being a light rain that would soon pass over and the track would dry off quickly from green flag racing. The downpour was abrupt and sudden. Radar proves that there were random storms suddenly popping up and intensifying around the area.
Very happy for Aric, the 10 Team and all of SHR. This was a tremendous race. Quality race all around. He tested for Stewart. Subbed for Jimmie. He's consistent and that counts. Congratulations!
The very very first thing I thought of was if they would’ve just started this race at 1 PM like fans and some competitors have been yelling about for years and years. In my opinion all East Coast races should be at 1 PM on Sunday especially if the track does not have lights. From my understanding though that’s more the TV side not NASCAR side!
Designing a rain tire and designing cars that will not leave rooster tails will allow teams to decide when to replace thier tires, taking NASCAR out of the mix. The race will be slower revealing drivers inclement weather driving skills which is a new learning skill.
@@fundacherry2754 It wasn't heavy rain or anything. It was light to at most moderate, but steady rain. Rain tires could EASILY deal with that on any flat track, oval or not.
Win and your in has both pros and cons it makes winning more important instead of finishing top 10 every week but it also takes up a playoff spot that could have been used for a more competitive car or driver depending on who got the spot
Well it was just a light rain. And last time there was a light bit of rain, at the Daytona Road Course, they threw the caution and you people complained and cried and bitched and whined about it. NASCAR thought yesterday it was going to keep being a light rain that would quickly pass over. The downpour was abrupt and unexpected. The radar even proved it; random storms just suddenly popped up and intensified around the area.
Props to Aric, well deserved. But. I DO NOT like how a driver could be finishing top 5-10 every week just without a win and theoretically miss the playoffs (think Hamlin or Harvick cause that could very well happen with the wild card tracks we've got left) cause some guy who's been mediocre all year except for one stellar performance gets in with a win.
@@kiradegler7815 I personally like Ty better than Austin. But I did see Austin do some amazing stuff before he graduated from the local tracks. Despite popular belief, his racing career wasn't raised upon a silver spoon. But nobody realized Austin was related to RC until he got into the "Big 3" so he wasn't exactly followed by fans. One time at Stafford Motor Speedway he lost a cylinder, went a lap down in the pits, unlapped himself and finished 3rd after losing a 2nd cylinder. It was awesome.
This felt like the Lifelock 400 from Kansas in 2007. NASCAR was trying too hard to try to finish the race as planned after the rain. It led to a much shorter race than planned.
My dad is an Almirola fan and let me tell you this race was such a shock and really brought his excitement for his own driver back. I’m personally not this biggest fan of win and your in either but I can see why they have it. I think they should make win and your in only for top 25 in points. There aren’t as many teams as there was when the rule was first introduced and I think it would bring “pointing” for Almirola and McDowell back to make sure they stay above the cut line
it was a really thrilling race. Rookie question, why is darkness an issue here? Some tracks light up as it gets darker, why can’t New Hampshire do the same? I get that from a TV perspective NBC had been on the air for a long time and they had Olympics to cover, but a lot of races get delayed for long periods of time, whether for weather or track problems.
Proves Rick Allen is unnecessary. He screws up more calls through ignorance of racing. Still like Allen Bestwick for that job. Allen called the SRX races and reminded me that he is really good.
I was in turn one today I was in complete shock when they threw the green with the track soaked with the weepers and it was pouring two laps before the wreck it was a wild day
This could actually be the best season ever potentially. We have so much underdog drivers winning. Let’s hope the playoffs live up to the best season ever hopefully!
The rain did not bother me, was it perfect no, but they missed it by a lap or 2. Also I feel saying the leaders were lost, is misleading when the field was set by algo and only 8 laps had gone by. This race had me standing in my home at the end.
doesnt help that they moved races from earlier in the day to later in the day... need to go back to noon or 2pm races, not 3 or 4pm races.. esp at tracks with no damn lights

This whole race from the rain to it being shortened screwed JGR so much!
Race wasn't shortened. I love the rain it's an act of GOD.
@@topjob1000 Yeah it was. The race went from 19 to go, to 10 to go. That's a loss of 9 laps.
Starting a race at 3 pm, with a track with NO LIGHTS, is really bad timing, and poor schedule management.
Imma a Aric fan and I personally couldn’t watch the last 10 laps! Then Dillon made me even more scared 😱. Finally he had good luck 🍀
Very happy for Aric, the 10 Team and all of SHR. This was a tremendous race. Quality race all around. He tested for Stewart. Subbed for Jimmie. He's consistent and that counts. Congratulations!
I was at the race, was raining well before they took the green and they somehow did wave it off
I've always been saying New Hampshire is super underrated
I like win and your in - makes folks race harder!
I have stayed loyal to Almirola since 2017, and it has payed off
👍🏽👍🏽
Designing a rain tire and designing cars that will not leave rooster tails will allow teams to decide when to replace thier tires, taking NASCAR out of the mix. The race will be slower revealing drivers inclement weather driving skills which is a new learning skill.
Just glad to see Bell stringing a few good runs together.
Hes the next great star, i can feel it
A validating win for Aric first win on a non-super speedway of his Cup career.
If they had the short track wet tires could they race?
Maybe quicker, yes, but not during rain like it was for a while
Yes. I'm 95% sure they would !
@@fundacherry2754 It wasn't heavy rain or anything. It was light to at most moderate, but steady rain. Rain tires could EASILY deal with that on any flat track, oval or not.
301 laps is iconic at this point. started out from the Lenox Industrial Tools 301, because their tools "go the extra mile"
Almirola win confort SHR after struggles this year. Awesome race 😃
Win and your in has both pros and cons it makes winning more important instead of finishing top 10 every week but it also takes up a playoff spot that could have been used for a more competitive car or driver depending on who got the spot
Estepp: "Maybe the biggest upset of the season"
Me: *screams in Michael McDowell*
McDowell would be 17th in traditional points aric was in the mid 20's this is a bigger upset
@@andrewputnam2717 Aric had two wins before today...
Burton summed it up PERFECT after the checkered flag - "Never quit fighting."
Newman has always been my favorite driver since I was 3 or 4. It’s sad to say it but I think it’s time to call it quits
Aric Almirola: Wins somewhere other than a plate track after a few years
Ryan Blaney: First time?
That race was so so wild!!!!
Being a joey fan that race was amazing it was my first race and it was so cool to see my favorite pass people on turn 3 every lap of the race
Logano did the best racing after the worst luck.
Awesome race 👍
It was obvious from the cameras the rain was getting worse 2 laps before the crashes.
I am siding with Kyle and MTJ 100% on this one!...this was bullshit!!!...you ain't gonna change my mind!

Love this for Almirola!! Glad the clown in the 3 is out of playoff for the moment-silver spoon tried to ruin it for Aric!
Sir we have until Daytona
that’s what i’m saying he wrecked almirola for the 500 a few years ago
@@kiradegler7815 Dale Jr intentionally wrecked like 10 cars at the 500 years ago and I didn't hear a peep from the fans about it.
@@captainnebulous2918 yeah ik and i’m biased bc i’m an almirola fan and i just don’t like austin dillon
Win and your in keeps drivers and their fans engaged
Who knew that the NHMS race would actually be in his top 5 grovey gauges?!
This felt like the Lifelock 400 from Kansas in 2007. NASCAR was trying too hard to try to finish the race as planned after the rain. It led to a much shorter race than planned.
I get that Aric doesn’t deserve to be in the playoffs, but hey now the cut line is so much more entertaining.
Congrats aric he really deserved it but the playoff picture is closing in on Hamlin and harvick
it was a really thrilling race.
I enjoyed the entire broadcast without Rick Allen. It was refreshing to not have a drama hype guy in the booth.
Proves Rick Allen is unnecessary.
He screws up more calls through ignorance of racing.
Still like Allen Bestwick for that job.
Allen called the SRX races and reminded me that he is really good.
Best time i’ve had at Loudon in my ten years going. Great racing!
Who except at the start of the season Aric Almorola would be in for SHR before even Kevin Harvick, man this season has been so insane!
Let alone SHR being winless (remember Custer also won once last year) before New Hampshire.
Hamlin and Harvick has the winless sindrome.
I was in turn one today I was in complete shock when they threw the green with the track soaked with the weepers and it was pouring two laps before the wreck it was a wild day
I was in turn four and couldn’t even tell it was raining there
@@colinr2434 yeah it was misting when the green flag dropped and the downpour happened about lap 4 the weepers were there the entire race
Now it is going to be a battle at RCR cuz Denny and Kevin will probably make it 😬
This could actually be the best season ever potentially. We have so much underdog drivers winning. Let’s hope the playoffs live up to the best season ever hopefully!
As a kyle busch fan pain
The rain did not bother me, was it perfect no, but they missed it by a lap or 2. Also I feel saying the leaders were lost, is misleading when the field was set by algo and only 8 laps had gone by. This race had me standing in my home at the end.
Poor Kyle it couldn't of happened to a nicer guy.
doesnt help that they moved races from earlier in the day to later in the day... need to go back to noon or 2pm races, not 3 or 4pm races.. esp at tracks with no damn lights
