@@legorobotics1017 This is true. Harvick probably doesn't run into Elliott if they both had the space to enter the turn right. Them being three wide just before they got to the turn messed them up.

Being at the race this weekend, easily my favorite race I've been to, even without a big crash, it was full of action and battles for the lead. The 3 friends I brought with me who had never seen NASCAR before are now hooked after going to the track.
ya the end of this race was so good that I am buying tickets for next years race this week and I'm from Canada and live 12 hours away but I'm so excited.
When figuring out who wronged the other driver more, you also have to consider Harvick’s points going into the second round - dead last. Those 5 bonus points would have meant a lot to Harvick (who sits last out of the remaining 12), and Chase took those away from him.
Harvick took it away from himself. He has no one else to blame. He just didn't consider the consequences when he took out Chase. I was so glad to see Chase hold up and wait for him to help his teammate get by him. Naturally, like the couple other drivers, Harvick thinks it's someone else's fault. Chicken shite gets out of his car with his helmet on. That tells me everything you need to know about Harvick. May he never get another win.
What a fantastic race weekend. Trucks with the racing, the finish and the playoff implications (the two eliminated could have WON the championship this year), Xfinity with the racing, a rare extremely tight regular season points battle and a loony bin finish, and of course Cup with the tight racing, the playoff grind and then add the drama at the end. I haven't seen Kevin Harvick that furious since my childhood. What a fantastic race weekend. I don't know if ths is the best season ever like FOX was marketing it, but make no mistake, this season rocks.
I'm a lot older than you Eric - like almost 40 years - and have watched a lot of Bristol races and I have to agree this weekend was one of the best they've had there. When the paved it with concrete a lot of people hated it but they were tearing the pavement to pieces at the time. Normally you saw Bristol dominated by a couple of drivers but now anyone can dominate and win. Add in some desperation, and you get fireworks.
This race has been a blast to watch on Saturday afternoon! I have to say, the Bristol race on concrete is more entertaining than on dirt! I like the battle for the wins during this race and congrats to Kyle Larson for getting his 6th win this year! I did see Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott’s argument about the situation and damn, Harvick’s pissed that he smashed his helmet along with his glasses almost getting knocked out! I also seen the part where they had a private conversation inside Chase’s hauler. With Bristol, you can expect to see temper flares like this!
I agree 100% is the right call here. From the drop off the green flag the were great battles happening on track. The Elliot, Hamlin, and Larson battle was incredible! For a brief moment there were 5 cars battling for position, 9th through 13th, and the camera got all of them in frame without having to zoom out a bunch. The lapped traffic was crazy for the leaders. At times there were piles of cars to navigate through and you are wondering how the heck no one wrecked when they finally got through. This race, really this whole round of races, was incredible. Best 3 races of the year!
Rick Hendrick paring Byron back his former Truck Series crew chief in the NASCAR Cup Series that he had success with Rudy Fugle was the best off-season move he could've made having his best season in his Cup Series career alot more top 5s and 10 finishes and the Homestead win I hope he wins 2 more with Rudy Fugle this season so he finishes this season strong and they enter next season with momentum. Larson and Cliff Daniels paring is helping him having his best season in his Cup Series career most wins in his career. Looking forward to seeing how they plus Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman continue to keep getting better in their careers.
@@martymet I'm glad you like it. I know a lot of people do. I felt like it was a fun event but a bad example of dirt racing. If NASCAR insists on racing dirt I'd prefer leave Bristol alone and add a purpose built dirt track. That's just my opinion and I'm aware it's an unpopular one.

100% on the Groovy gauge! I lietrally applaud. Your manic delivery was perfectly in line with how this race felt to watch. One of my favorite parts of the whole night was watching the battle between Almirola and Preece, and like Jeff Burton, I was amazed by the insanity of it all! Early in stage 3, I had anticipated for Harvick doing an Earnardt tribute to either Larson or Elliot ala 1999 to try and get a win, but I didn't see that altercation awith Elliot coming! Great drama! That was my 65th NASCAR race watched, and two of my favorites have been this, and the dirt-race. But there's been some really great action this year in several races. Bristol is amazing. There was a huge crowd for such a place so big. Looked 60-70k. I think with the fall out from this race, and all the excitement it generated, AND moving this to replace Phoenix, there would be way more turning up. Anyone else remember when Chase Elliot called out Ryan Newman at Dover 2017 for not getting out of the way while was racing for the win and Newman was a lapped car. What ya gonna say now chase
Not really a fair comparison. Newman didn't have a tire cut down while he was racing Chase for the lead. I won't deny I'm a Chase fan, but I'm willing to admit his move into the turn that ended up cutting his tire was maybe too aggressive. But thats Bristol, and that's the kind of stuff we watch for. It's exciting, edge of your seat racing like that. I get why Chase was upset, he feels like Harvick cost him a shot at the win. I get why Harvick was upset, Chase cost him the win in return. The only winners in that exchange, were Larson, and the fans.
@@Tixio_T I watched a panel with 15-20 of the drivers, including Newman, and one of the questions was "Who's the hardest to pass?". Majority of the drivers pointed to Newman
I'm actually in Harvick's defense (not a Harvick fan), I think most of the blame is on Chase for the initial incident to begin with. He clearly drove it into 1 and pinched Harvick down farther than he should've causing Harvick to get loose and slide up the track. And then Chase comes out of the pits, side swipes Harvick, and ultimately takes away his win by blocking his lane. Of course Harvick's gonna be upset. Of course Chase is gonna be upset since he finished 25th. Just a racing incident, but I do think Chase took it too far tonight
That was an awesome race! I spent the final 30 laps pulling hard for Byron, and he isn’t even one of my favorite drivers. The only bad thing to come out of the race is what has happened with the fanbase. You probably have seen enough by now to know what I mean...
Harvick didn't actually stay in Elliot's hauler long, as Almirola's interview was starting you can see Harvick walk past on the left side of the screen, with some of the people he was with before entering Elliot's hauler
The interviews are not live they loop splice them in Sometime you’ll see the winner driving off the track in the background after they have already celebrated in victory lane lol
I was at this race and it was so much fun! Not as many wrecks as hoped for, but great racing. This race just proves that they don’t need dirt there earlier in the season.
Harvick clearly had the upper hand at that moment and he took advantage of that. It may have been slightly aggressive for him to do what he did but Chase just took it like a baby and decided to ruin a good race.

Harvick’s move was just racing in my book. Elliott’s response was cheap and childish. It would have been more manly for Chase to just dump Kevin when he got back to him, but that probably would have drawn a penalty. Likewise after the side swipe from Chase, if I was Kevin I would have dumped him.
He will put him in the fence at Vegas or the roval, someone recorded the conversation in the garage they had and harvick said “now I’m gonna run you the f**k over”. Let’s see if he is true to his words🤷♂️🤷♂️

Oh it can and has disappointed a lot over the last several years. It’s all up to the drivers and how bad they want it. This weekend was spectacular due to the drivers going for it and not being worried about the repercussions. Racing is a show that needs competition, passion and personal stories. Without those you just have cars going in circles. When you get all three on the same night it is awesome.
As someone who's almost 30 I've seen a lot of Bristol races that ended in chaos and theirs a few of them that comes to mind. 1) August 1999 with Dale Sr and Terry Labonte,2002 Jeff Gordon and Rusty Wallace,2006 Spring race with Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth and Gordon fighting for the win and the shove fest between Gordon and Kenseth and then last night with Chase and Harvick.
I think it Kevin Harvick is in the wrong, because it looked like he moved Chase up the track and nearly put him in the wall. But KFH cut his tire down first. Harvick literally did that on purpose.

How many times are we gonna see lapped cars get in the leader's way and help their teammates win the race though? I get it but it's annoying regardless of who it's helped.
Lapped cars started the incident to so that’s kinda the blame here
As a Harvick fan I couldn’t agree more.
@@Merica_dadgarage I’m a chase fan just a racing deal kinda wish he didn’t piss off harvick this could be a problem
@@legorobotics1017 This is true. Harvick probably doesn't run into Elliott if they both had the space to enter the turn right. Them being three wide just before they got to the turn messed them up.
The initial contact was a racing incident, I even understand Chases side swipe, but him sandbagging to hurt the #4 cars finish was NOT a racing inicdent.
Being at the race this weekend, easily my favorite race I've been to, even without a big crash, it was full of action and battles for the lead. The 3 friends I brought with me who had never seen NASCAR before are now hooked after going to the track.
Only 3 words to describe the amazing race: ITS BRISTOL BABY!!!
ya the end of this race was so good that I am buying tickets for next years race this week and I'm from Canada and live 12 hours away but I'm so excited.
Awesome

When figuring out who wronged the other driver more, you also have to consider Harvick’s points going into the second round - dead last. Those 5 bonus points would have meant a lot to Harvick (who sits last out of the remaining 12), and Chase took those away from him.
Actions have consequences. He wrecked him. Elliot making him finish second was "going easy on him".
@@johnlayne7473 shouldn't really be surprised to see Chase respond like a 9year old. I'm Chase how dare you race me hard lmao
@@stevewalker2095 The traditional way to handle that was to wreck him. Harvick trying to wreck Larson for sliding him was a childish move though.
And this, this is why I want two Bristol race and go to another dirt race
i was stressed about bowman not being able to make it but after one bad race an ok race, he got a top 5 at bristol
Freakin loved it so happy Larson won.
We followed a meh short track race with a short track for the FREAKING AGES!!!
THAT RACE WAS CRAZY
This race has been a blast to watch on Saturday afternoon! I have to say, the Bristol race on concrete is more entertaining than on dirt! I like the battle for the wins during this race and congrats to Kyle Larson for getting his 6th win this year! I did see Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott’s argument about the situation and damn, Harvick’s pissed that he smashed his helmet along with his glasses almost getting knocked out! I also seen the part where they had a private conversation inside Chase’s hauler. With Bristol, you can expect to see temper flares like this!
i feel like i see u in the comments of almost every nascar video i watch LOL
Yeah lmao
Great analysis, Eric. I look forward to every video you make.
This weekend makes me even angrier about the dirt race on the first date. This was an all around incredible weekend of racing.
dirt race just makes this race even better so, i dont mind the dirt race.
@@zacmyers7269 oh it could definitely be streamlined. that first attempt had a lot of rough edges. but it also had potential. i just think that if its bringing more people to bristol in the spring, ultimately thats good. and it makes the asphalt race at bristol an even more important race. i can understand why there are others didnt like it too though
This race has just made me glad I've got into this sport. The round of 12 is going to be great!
This was my first ever nascar race and oh my god! What a race, what a finish, and the drama. If this race isn’t enough to make a full time nascar fan out of anyone I don’t know what is. Also LETS GO LARSON👑
I just started watching nascar last year and that was the best race I’ve ever watched. By a long shot.
I was there for both of the races and I’m so glad
"Sqooze" what a wonderful Sterlin Marlin throwback.
As a Byron fan I was so stressed. So glad we advanced. Not that Eric cares about Byron anyways…. (Kenseth was more boring than Byron)
Me too man. So impressed with the speed this week tho!
So glad we advanced? Really we
You did nothing
@@nascarandbowlingfan3888 But I wore my lucky Byron under-roos all weekend.......
I've been a fan for 20 years and that was the best weekend of racing ever.
It was evident Chase held up Harvick to let Larson . The last time this was done Micheal Waldrip was penalized heavily to helping teammate win a race.
Love the energy Eric! Bristol does that too you even watching on TV ! 100% Groovey!!!
Are there any other races with a 100% on the Groovey Gauge? I'm pumped up and in the mood to watch some old races!
Yes, I know Spring Talladega 2020 had a 100%
"Ahh, I love the concrete!"
Lol you and I alike brother
Dale Sr. would have wrecked Chase.😆
Also, congratulations to Erik Jones and Matty D.!😀
He was holding Harvick up, wouldn’t have blamed him if he would have dumped Chase
@@DIGS16 as a chase fan I wouldn't have either. Glad some action is happening and my driver isn't going to be a pushover when he feels he has been wronged weather right or wrong. Hopefully they have resolved any issues and can move forward
Remember When He wrecked Labontie in turn 4?
"Ethan" Dale would have probably wrecked YIPPY in the dustup when Chase got the flat tire.
Me and my dad are both Chase Elliott fans and we were watching and my dad said “you tell him Chase tell him you have the same amount championships at half the age”
hahaha, sound like warching a race with you guys be a fun time. 😄
When they were talking my mom was like “don’t hit him, there’s a cop right there!” She laughed at both their interviews 😂
I’ve been wanting a fight for weeks. This was it. Wish they would’ve duked it out but hey I love a good confrontation with some rage in post race interviews😂
Maybe if Harvick had some guts he would’ve took his helmet off and we would have one… he doesn’t apparently
They have to protect the golden boy
@@wizskinz9987 Kevin Harvick has guts Chase Elliott is lucky Kevin didn't didn't punch his lights out.
Harvick should have taken his Helment Off Wussie ?
I totally get where you’re coming from Eric. I was a Jeff Gordon fan, and ever since he retired it’s a lot harder for me to get excited about finishes and battles. But nights like last night are the exception. What a race! Classic Bristol!
Anyone else remember when Chase Elliot called out Ryan Newman at Dover 2017 for not getting out of the way while was racing for the win and Newman was a lapped car. What ya gonna say now chase
He's going to say nothing. He will cry and the fans will boo whoever he is upset at.
Watching all 3 camera angles at the end and the playoff bubble was amazing and my heart was beating
It should of stayed between chase and Harvick. I mean Harvick did try to wreck Larson even though Larson passed him cleanly.
Absolutely!!
All 3 races were wild, trucks, xfinity, and cup!!! Great weekend of races
I was there and it was hands down the best race I’ve ever seen
One of the best I’ve been to, not to mention and not sure how well nbc covered it but there were threats of rain throughout the night as well
That was an awesome race! I spent the final 30 laps pulling hard for Byron, and he isn’t even one of my favorite drivers. The only bad thing to come out of the race is what has happened with the fanbase. You probably have seen enough by now to know what I mean...
Yep, booing the guy who was the real victim, and cheering for the guy pitching a fit when he really did it to himself.
Chase can kill someone and ppl will still cheer him, weirdest fanbase in all of sports
The “Golden Boy” can do no wrong 🙄
Harvick didn't actually stay in Elliot's hauler long, as Almirola's interview was starting you can see Harvick walk past on the left side of the screen, with some of the people he was with before entering Elliot's hauler
The interviews are not live they loop splice them in
Sometime you’ll see the winner driving off the track in the background after they have already celebrated in victory lane lol
@@Ls_swap211 I just wish we saw more of that burnout Larson did. It looked like he stuck the wheel out the window at some point.
@@Ls_swap211 yes, but also by the end of Almirola's interview Kyle Petty mentioned both Harvick and Elliot had each left the track already
10/10 amazing and incredible race!
They both took it to far. Harvick did try to wreck Larson even though Larson passed cleanly.it should have stayed between Chase and Harvick.
@@hillbilly8337 Larson did not pass him cleanly. He ran across his nose in the middle of the turn, which in turn led to the straight away shenanigans
@@joshhoward6223 ya that's called a side job and that's a clean move. Larson didn't run into Kevin to make the pass. Kevin had the bottom open to cross over and instead just decided to run into Larson.
@@hillbilly8337 I know what a slide job is, I'm just saying he couldn't make it stick 🤷. He stalled out in the middle of the turn and Harvicks momentum sent him into the #5. It's more difficult than you think to just turn down the track with an obstacle in front of you
@@joshhoward6223 Larson did make it stick. They didn't make contact until half way down the straight away. By that time Harvick could have moved down to keep his run. I mean that's what Larson did to him when he had the run.
Dodgy know Eric wss such a young man, he brings a lot of excitement in these videos!! Always enjoy your work!! And yes 80s and 90s Bristol had its moments that I can remember, but this one wss very good !! I still like the dirt for 1 race a year as well. Keeps it different
Congratulations on getting your logo on the 51 car, that’s awesome! I may have to order the diecast of that car!
Well this ending was uh interesting I don’t get why people argue over this harvick fans are gonna defend harvick elliott fans are gonna defend elliott like that’s how it is 😂
I'm not a fan of either but Elliot was right in this instance. He's tired of Harvick doing this to him. That tells Harvick he better leave him alone.
Funny how all the Hendrick fans praise Chase for holding up the leader but when Logano "supposedly did it" at Atlanta to Larson they were furious...funny how that works
Yeah hypocrisy at its best! He literally tried wrecking the leader!
As a 5 fan I'm just glad it evened out. Lost one that way and won one that way. After the 11 crashed, the 5 was slower. Contact with the left rear did hurt the 5 some and he just wasn't as fast.
Why did we put dirt on this masterpiece?
The winner
This whole weekend proved that you don't need to cover this beautiful facility with dirt.
this whole weekend just proved that stupid saying dirt if for racing asphalt is just for getting there is not true at all to be honest only delusional people would believe a saying like that even boomers
This just shows how bad the dirt race is there. Please leave Bristol alone! It is great as is

Bristol never disappoints and this race was awesome
Oh it can and has disappointed a lot over the last several years. It’s all up to the drivers and how bad they want it. This weekend was spectacular due to the drivers going for it and not being worried about the repercussions. Racing is a show that needs competition, passion and personal stories. Without those you just have cars going in circles. When you get all three on the same night it is awesome.
