- The scorching solos (1st and 2nd ones) from the Black Crowes version of Otis Redding's song.
What I remember most about this when it came out was:
1. The great guitar work
2. I had no idea what the singer was saying!
Cool tune. Hope you like it!
Mark you’re awesome man , I love how you show places to play the solo in different ways and places on the neck , man you’re really good I love your lessons thank you

Great job, again!

Great lesson thanks! I agree it is a tasty guitar solo!
Thanks!
Great lesson Mark, Your playing is immaculate and your teaching style is down to earth. Thanks much for the lessons. If you ever get a chance, or the whim, could you do a lesson on "victim of love" by the eagles? That intro lick kicks my a$$! Thanks again!
ono 724 Thanks! Oh, Victim of Love! Yes, that's a great suggestion. I'll get it on the list!!
Thanks a lot Mr. I play guitar since 4 years. Be able to play this perfectly on my cheap telecaster is a big challenge for me. But it will be done… soon :) Thanks again.
Awesome! Stay with it!
Thanks :) 4 hours a day : i'm reaching the target ! Only this part is resisting --> (11:07) aaarghhh ! Never give up… (sorry for my bad english).
Thank you... needed this!
So glad!
Just what i needed on this saturday!;)
Whoa dude! That was the fastest comment ever. :) Seriously, thanks, hope it helps for your day today!
the black crowes were one of my earliest rhythm lessons in the 90s! thanks for the solos mark.
ieldepiel Cool. Yeah, they were great. Still are.
brilliant
Thanks!
Please do the solo for I ain't hiding from the Black Crowes. You did a really good job with this one.
Thanks! Good suggestion. I'll put it on the list of things to consider doing. Appreciate it!
You’re a rockstar. Don’t ever change.
@@markh2826 thanks!
Great lesson, thx!
You're welcome. Thanks for listening!
I've seen this done by two others. Although they got the notes right they didn't capture the oomph. There's getting the notes right and there's getting the right feel. You captured it. Very good. Now I don't have to figure this one out for myself.
BTW, Call Me The Breeze was excellent also.
Thanks Glenn!
great ! thumbs up
Thanks!
very nice !!
Thanks! Appreciate the kind comment!
very good work...Thumbs up#
Thanks!
Great solo and lesson. Spot on. That's a nice looking Gibson you have there. Which model is that? Custom 50's maybe?
Thanks! I'm playing a 1970s Tribute Studio in this video. Love the guitar. Satin finish, mini humbuckers, maple fretboard (I know, it looks like Rosewood, but it's "baked" maple). Some players don't like the fat neck, but it works for me. (It's not super-fat.) Thanks for watching!
THE PRODUCER ACTUALLY PLAYED THIS TASTEFUL SOLO BECAUSE THEIR FIRST LEAD GUITARIST NOT UP TO STUFF.THEN MARC FORD GOT HIRED.THEN AUDLEY FREED.ALL GREAT PLAYERS! YOU TOO! GREAT LESSON!
Bruce Wayne Thanks! Didn't know any of that. Cool info!!
Thank you. But I will need to watch a few more times before I am close. Thanks again.
Thanks Daniel. Take your time with this solo. It's worth getting it down!
What amp / pedal(s) are you using.?
Hi Paul. I'm not 100% positive. It was years ago. I think I was using a ZT Lunchbox Junior with a Marshall Plexi emulator (Zoom G3X). Can't remember the gain settings on the emulator, but a decent amount of gain. Maybe a tiny bit of reverb on it. No other effects.
Good video
Thank you!
Studio33Guitar Songs Thanks!
Fantastic job....!
I used to use the Ionian, Dorian...Phrygian
All the time...great explanation!!!!
Thanks!!
I could hear the major scale parts in that solo too
Definitely!
do you offer pay stuff?
Hi Paul. I don't have a membership site, and I don't yet have products up yet. (Working on some "bootcamp" courses or like Lynyrd Skynyrd Bootcamp.) I do provide both video lessons (recorded) and live lessons via Zoom, which is a screen-sharing application. If you'd like, please contact me at mzabel2781@gmail.com. Thanks for your interest!
Hey can you please trying doing a lesson on "Surfing With The Alien"?
Oliver Sanvictores Hi Oliver. I'll think about it ... but I'm not likely to do it soon. Why? Three reasons. First, it's not really my style. Satch is a great player, but I'm not really into his music. Second ... it's hard!! It'll take me a while to learn it ... and if I don't really dig it, I question why I'd spend the time. Third, I don't have the equipment. I need a guitar with a whammy setup that'll really stay in tune. So I really will think about it, but it won't happen soon. Sorry about that.
....and in breaking news, Robert Irvine does The Black Crowes....
LOL. Maybe from the neck up!
smokin
+thedontrotta Thanks!!
Hell yeah!
Rock on!
