"Hard to Handle" was The Black Crowes' breakout single off their debut Shake Your Money Maker album released in 1990. Their cover of this Otis Redding classic is full of awesome guitar solos and cool chords so let's get to work!
In the first Hard to Handle guitar lesson, I will demonstrate all the chords and rhythms used throughout the song. There are two distinct rhythm guitar parts so having another guitar player will be essential to making this sound like the album. Those two rhythm guitar parts compliment each other very well with one usually playing chords in a lower position while the other plays some challenging upper position chords.
Those upper position chords also move around at a pretty fast tempo, but they make for a great chord exercise! Isolate those chord movements and it will help you play barre chords swiftly across the fretboard in no time.
In the second Hard to Handle guitar lesson I will demonstrate note-for-note how to play the two killer guitar solos. These solos are about as catchy as it gets and really take the song to a whole new level. There are a few unorthodox licks thrown in there to challenge you, but nothing that an intermediate level player couldn't handle with a little bit of practice.
As with most solos, I find practicing each phrase individually by themselves in a loop (like I teach it in the video lesson) is the best way to truly master all the guitar licks before putting them together into one complete solo.
Hope you guys enjoy this one!
    Carl...

crap thanks again man. Perfect execution. When you slid up to the high note lick and did the major 2nd flat 3rd pull offs I was so impressed that the bottom note moved from major sixth to flat seven too. I never would of caught that in a million years. Brilliant

Hey Carl, great lesson as always, much better than other lessons and tabs (which show fingering that is just plain wrong and bizarre). One suggestion that may differentiate you from other guitar lesson video channels - a player's point of view window looking at the fret board showing your left hand fingering the notes. This matches how players see the fret board vs from a camera facing you.

Hey Carl, I just dropped you a one time donation on Patreon for this lesson. This helped me out a lot on this great tune. I have to ask. How do you figure these lead parts out? Some of them are so buried in the mix I can't tell what they are playing. Do you use editing tools to slow things down? Very curious.

You're prolly the best out there, but would be even better if you played the solo first in context of the tune so we can hear it first

This is why songsterr can really screw you up. Songsterr's tab for this is so wrong. Carl's way make way more sense.
