It's crazy seeing games we struggled with as kids get demolished with reckless abandon in a TAS. This was one of those games I loved but never finished without resorting to cheats.
@@ReaverPrime I had this on Mega Drive (UK name for Genesis). With only 3 buttons on the controller, the firing worked differently - one button made you fire in the same direction you were facing, one button made you fire in the OPPOSITE direction to which you were facing, and the third button locked your firing in the direction you were facing at the time regardless of how you moved afterwards as long as you held the button down. Seems like this made the game harder than the SNES version, which probably explains why I never made it past Scarface (except for a single time, but then died in the next room). You also had the option to play a single player game to emulate the opriginal arcade game and use the two joysticks/d-pads together with one for your movement and the other for your firing. This is what Mars was probably referring to, as the original arcade game had no buttons, simply two sets of two joysticks.
@@jxq2855 holy shit ur still around, insane. Ik most ppl know u as the oot comemntary guy but I loved ur super metroid tas as a kid, u were pretty good taser back then, even tho u dont tas anymore I think u have a cemented history.
... wait, did you actually go out of your way to pick up four out of five of the "?" tokens and then deliberately die to avoid picking up the very last one? Edit: Oh, I read the author's comments. I see. Picking up that last ? would have skipped the ending.
22:22 just this one purple dude trying to get a hit in for a minute straight is great
"Don't worry, guys! I gottem!"
They disregarded his existence so tactfully, the man just decided to jump in front of their bullets to end the suffering

Super Smash TV is wildly difficult though
as a super violent murder game show should be
@@MarsofAritia No idea how it worked on Genesis, but on SNES, the four face buttons served as a direction to fire.

The legendary OOT commentator who eats a sandwich and talks on the phone during commentating. JXQ is cemented in history
This TAS and that commentary feel like a lifetime ago, lol. Appreciate the love 👍
@@jxq2855 ZFG watched it on his stream a few years ago. You are now a beloved legend there!

Always happy to see a Smash TV TAS.
Those intro credits are getting more and more refined. :D
28:11 player 2 is angry that he earned 20000 less than player 1. Nevermind the fact he survived the tournament and is going home with 12 million.
And enough toasters for every wedding he'll ever have to attend for the rest of his life.
It's still not enough to pay off his student loans, though!
I kinda find it funny that both dudes are exactly the same asset, that’s classic arcade games right there lmao.
I realized this is the Snes version, the Arcade version was alot more bloody

Big money!
Big prizes!
I LOVE IT!!!
Good luck.
You’ll need it!
I'd buy that for a dollar!
I loved the arcade of this. But the bastards cheated us at the beginning with it being unbeatable.
How was it unbeatable?
@@tobiaspabst5524 There was no ending in original arcade release and was introduced in new revisions.
They also added the pleasure dome as an apology.
interesting video TASVideosChannel. I killed that thumbs up on your video. Continue to keep up the terrific work.
Esto es tiroteos intensos del bueno 👍
Estilo Contra dentro un Reality Show.
I can’t even reach Mutoid Man
this is wild
There was a really fun startcraft custom map of Smash TV
GO GO GO GO!!
would it be possible to TASBOT an actual arcade machine ?
Not gonna lie, I was cheering on that one pink bat dude you left alive for a considerably long amount of time.
Needs to be labeled as a 2player hard turbo run.
Is it not faster to use the 3-way shot on Mutoid Man and Evil M.C. for tenfold damage rather than use Lobbers as often as possible?
2600" TV... Jesus, what is that, a Jumbotron?🤣
The “Big Money” samples are popping up to my ears
Weird seeing a game called "Super Smash" having nothing to do with the Smash Bros. series. D:
It's not weird for us millennials who grew up with both games
Roouh! Roouh! Roouh! Ruh-ruh-ruh-ruh-roouh!
22:22 somebody should have told that guy not to bring a baguette to a gunfight.
2:53 Tank Trouble and 21:01 You Have Enough Keys
2 player should have ended in a battle between the players.
"Magnificent -2600"- *217'* TV."
There I fixed it.
The title screen -- hey, hang on a minute, shouldn't that be 'Super" Smash T.V.? Ha!
Who is this legend RJR?
I would purchase that item for a dollar.
I am willing to offer one unit of legal tender used in the United States in exchange for obtaining the mentioned object.
@@cmyk8964 Fine, you win.
Getting a Dead Ops Arcade vibe from this.
The predecessor of the binding of Isaac
I personally think it's closer to Hyper Princess Pitch. Binding of Isaac is more roguelike.
Binding of Isaac looks more like Legend of Zelda to me
Very nice
Was hoping the score would be tied or even worse....one point loss between the players
The mullet twins tho.
*_NO WAY_*
Did anyone get a body count?
could never beat this
Can you imagine this game trying to release today? Welcome to the pleasure dome would get it cancelled.
@Zach cool story snowflake
Too bad with keys, when get all unlock everything plus the 2 codes
And the rom load screen how prize
alright now you gotta do total carnage
Loved this game as a kid, but it was too hard for me.
And I'm now just realizing the Robocop references.
Tinnitus moment
Hey look it's Mia
So "super smash" was a SNES game after all...
Before Super Smash Bros!
That's where the samples in $50,000 Guitar Head by DD/MM/YYYY come from!
Early gang, whaddap
So before there’s Super Smash Bros, there’s Super Smash TV.
cheater hack
Absolutely lifeless and zero atmosphere
