Five years ago, when I realized what I was feeding my family, I cried all day.
I got up and started changing things. We now raise all our own meats and I don't shop at grocery stores. I make our own soaps and cleaning products and we've never been healthier. I'm so glad this a "normal" topic of conversation now!

@ We have pigs, sheep, dairy goats, meat rabbits, and chickens, both laying and meat birds. We have breeding stock and raise all our own without any outside breeders needed, that way we don't have to deworm (very often, sometimes not at all) or vaccinate (which I wouldn't do anyways)...and while it's hard work, we love it!
We also have a huge garden every year and I taught myself how to pressure can and process and preserve all our hard work.

Dr. Lustig is at the beginning of his awakening. If it’s advertised food he would be right. But he is behind on his understanding of nutrition & its relation to modern chronic diseases. Dr. Ginge. A healer albeit I have a license to sell legal drugs. To be fair to doctors who are dictated to the mantra, the majority of patients will never try a meat , salt, and water diet for a month. Those who do understand.

Change - a long time coming. 50 years ago, due to weight issues, I stopped eating white flour and sugar - any food that was processed. In other words, I began eating foods with only ONE ingredient. Eating became very simple and my life radically changed because, I too educated myself about the ingredients in products, the food industry etc BUT back then, NOBODY wanted to listen and I was considered one of those food freaks.
Bravo for this awakening. It does work and I am still living proof of it.

It's not just the industrial chemicals, it's plants. Humans are obligate carnivores and all plants contain herbicides. My food eats your food. Historically vegetables and fruits were farmed to feed cattle. And none of the queens and kings of old hoarded grain during famine. We have the world's most acidic monogastric carnivorous stomach, but we eat salads. 🤡

As a diabetes management coach, I am able to help my patients discontinue insulin even after they were told their pancreas is dead. I get patients off metformin and using berberine and bitter melon which are natural plant based supplements. I teach my patients how to read foods labels and train them to adopt the motto, "If I cannot pronounce the ingredient, it doesn't belong in my pantry!" And also, ""If it's an ingredient I couldn't buy for my pantry, then I shouldn't eat it!" And this works, but the individual has to be sick and tired of being sick and tired, and they have to have the willingness to actually change their nutrition and lifestyle habits.
The most disheartening thing to me as a public health professional and patient Educator is that none of the govt agencies or mainstream media are actually telling people about their nutrition or fitness. It's always about a new pill, injection, procedure, or fake food. It makes me embarrassed to have my public health degree. Had I known the truth back then, I would have fought harder 💯

It’s an autoimmune response. From memory there can be a few different triggers, but as I see it, these modern days the trigger is most often a “nutritional” issue. If you can, try & recollect what she tended to eat, & didn’t eat, for her first four years, & also what she was inadvertently consuming, or deprived of, during gestation (nausea can cause nutritional imbalances); because what Mum eats, Bub eats too.
I am very interested in health & nutrition, it’s my job, & so I have listened to some very interesting videos here on UA-cam about people’s personal experiences with Type1, & how eliminating certain foods from their diet has really helped them reduce their need for insulin & also gain a lot of other mental & physical health benefits. If you’re interested in watching any of them, just ask & I’ll be happy to share 🙏🏻

I am praying all the way to heaven that Bobby gets confirmed. I have not said or written what I’m about to say here but… this summer I was constantly out and about with my kids at the local swimming pool. And so many of the kids and their parents had severe weight issues. I remember thinking that a child, that is, a preteen, should not be fatter than me, a perimenopausal woman who has born and nursed two babies and has experienced weight gain because of a medication side effect. Something is terribly wrong and I think it’s not that human behavior around food has changed but that something in the food is causing serious health problems and it’s got to be sorted. Back in the eighties when I was a kid we ate all kinds of crap and thought nothing of it. Now, it’s out of hand and I can’t wait for Bobby to get in there and straighten things right out.

Hope you’re right but I sometimes feel like we fail to see the forest through the trees with this stuff. Fact of the matter is that we’re in an environment that’s stuffed to the brim with readily available food that’s delicious, extremely caloric, and relatively low in satiety. Like, I don’t doubt that these foods have harmful chemicals in them, but I think the major issue is just that people are consuming way more calories than they’re burning. CICO is boring, but at the end of the day we really are just dealing with thermodynamics

I'm diagnosed with a T cell Lymphoma blood Cancer. It came up through my skin, as a 7 cm × 7 cm × 3 cm tumor, in just 6 weeks, growing.
I thought it was just my eczema going completely out of control.
I then changed my foods, halting it in 3 days, by quitting all processed foods, and quitting my 6 small alcohol drinks I'd been drinking every week. Yes, I halted the tumor in 3 days of diet change..
After those 3 days, I applied all the rules of the natural hygiene diet, and I ate apples and baby greens for breakfast and lunch, meat for dinner.
In my case, all of this was supposedly non GMO organic foods.
The tumor instantly began to SHRINK.
within 5 days, it went from 7×7×3, all the way down to 5×5×2.
It was still shrinking, just much slower, because I've tweaked the routine, making the natural ingredients more complex. AKA additional meats, garlic powder, minced onion, black pepper, green beans, and a couple other natural things, instead of just meat with a dash of salt at night, and an additional veggie.
Sometimes I use the Nicoya 3 sisters.
The slight increase in complexity was that much less helpful shrinking the tumor in my case, but helped the energy.
Then, for the last 2 days, I increased my apples and greens even more, and, lessened everything else, and the shrinking increased all over again .
Work is ROUGH though. The natural hygiene diet requires no snacking. For over a decade I was used to eating 7-8 times per day. Now I'm only eating 3 times, and, there are way less carbs, slight energy loss for a few reasons....
The moment I tweaked the routine, adding carbs, sure, I felt wonderful, but the tumor stopped shrinking.
I need to work! So, I'm considering the carnivore diet, maybe. I can go pretty wide on my types of meats.
I almost forgot, I also take a high-end dose of coenzyme q10, d3, a little bit of pure hmb, and a little bit of pure creatine.
The simplicity might cause the tumor to shrink, and I might have more energy?
I highly doubt the tumor would begin growing again. Any thoughts or experience on this anyone? Thanks in advance. My PET scan isn't until some time after Feb 10th.

How you adapt to carnivore depends on your current fat adaptation. Because you currently have a diet really high in greens you might also experience oxalate dumping on a fairly intense scale. You may also have a hard time consuming enough of, and digesting the higher fat content necessary to maintain appetite satiation which on a predominantly high fiber fruit and vegetable diet is next to impossible to achieve.
The adaptation period can be pretty rocky and it can take weeks for some to find a consistent level of energy. Most people will experience fatigue and muscle aches, low stamina and possibly food apathy or meat aversion for weeks. Once that threshold is crossed though, most people see a big decrease in hunger frequency, will drop their mealtimes to once or twice a day and find their energy level consistent for much longer. I can go 3 days without food and go for a 5k run without much effort at all and still wait another 24 hours before finally having a meal. That is all from being fat adapted. Carnivore close to 1 year now.
Check out Ken Berry, Sally Norton, Anthony Chaffe to start. I also recommend Eric Westman. A lot of great informatio is available to you in the keto and carnivore sphere.

Grass fed beef, fatty cuts…plenty of REAL 100% butter…..eggs…..nuts. Could also add oily fish….high dose VIT D every day and coffee and water…..getting into a routine of eating at the same time of the day and same quantities (in terms of weight of the meat, amount of eggs etc)
Doing this for maybe 2 weeks and take notes on the tumour and also how you feel day to day.
Everyone is different but I haven’t ate a fruit or vegetables in maybe 3-4 years…..I caught covid in 2020 and haven’t had a cold or flu since then and didn’t have a cold or flu for a couple of years before then.
The body needs less than people think to survive…and the dietary tract needs times with zero food in it in order to cleanse/rest/detoxify etc etc……the odd day, skip a meal so you haven’t eaten in maybe 16 hours…it’s not hard at all and this too allows the boys to devote ALL of its amazing power into sorting out the tumour.
      Less is definitely more.
      Good luck with it all.

It’s not the doctors themselves, it’s the system that was constructed to educate them and perform their practices in a particular way. They make more money prescribing more medicines….. that practice is the crux of the problem. Most times medicines aren’t needed, just a change in lifestyle, but that’s not particularly profitable….

To anyone dismissive on individual food choices, permit this example. We have a naturopath able to test for specific sensitivities. Concerned about apples, one day at the market we purchased a single apple of five different types shortly before a regular appointment. He agreed to test me and found four types of apples appeared great for me but one common type I responded very poorly too --- we don't buy those apples any more. We also have greatly reduced the number of purchased we make with anything having labels full of non-pronounceable ingredients. Everyone needs to learn what works for their own body and your family. And may as well stop buying Kellogg's.

Cafeteria food at school, modern convenience food at home, fast food on the way to our various weeknight church meetings, and my mom was taking classes in baking and candy making so plenty of sugar.
Looking back, what my doctor diagnosed as "trying to get yourself an ulcer" was just a case of reactions to processed food.
      I wasn't "worrying" I was slowly poisoned.
The symptoms went away after graduation. No more cafeteria food, no more youth night with fast food, and being inspired by the hippie back to the land thing I began learning to cook, so much less processed food.

Italy vs America in a nutshell:
Us Italians call foods with the names of foods. We don't call foods with the names of brands. Food is veggies, steak, fish, cheese, and that's it.
Dairy is everywhere, still people are rarely obese because we are huge nitpickers for locally grown food. Canned, dehydrated, boxed, bagged, sounds disgusting to us. We buy fresh and we eat fresh. Leftovers means a 3 days fridge life at best. We deep-fry sparingly and even then, with the lightest, highest quality oil. And we think soft drinks are for kids of low income families who know nothing about health. We'd rather cook than buy pre-made. Although, I see some things changing. Food delivery companies sell junk food and people use it often because if you have to work all the time you can't cook. The food culture might change if we get used to the American made fast food model. Grandmas are the promoter of home cooked stuff. I don't know if new moms will continue on that route after the elderly are gone. Luckily the love for organic food is growing stronger, I hope we always continue to be as selective.

Already wrote this on the short, but; I'm British and love america and american things, but WOW you can taste the difference in our foods... europeans can actually taste the chemicals in american food. For example I can't even eat hersheys chocolate because it has like a stomach acid aftertaste... we dont "clean" our eggs because we don't need to, and because of that we don't even refrigerate them, we don't pasteurise the same, farm the same, chlorinate our different meats... we need the natural process to pick up ALL of the minerals and nutrients and local bacterias that help us thrive in our environments and keep gut health and immunity high. I would NOT be a fan if we swapped to an american trade deal currently, just because of this reason. I couldn't eat anything. Mainly because I also have an autoimmune disease called Polyarteritis Nodosa which is highly reactionary. Hope you can work out a more natural food methodology 🙏

The numbers of pre- diabetic kids is almost the same here in Brazil. Parents have to really been aware to granmas don't put sugar in the diet. But the tragedy is that many adults are also addicted. Brazilian food also had lots of cooking proccess, but the time thing can't be an excuse, because nowadays we have eletric cans. For example the traditional brazilian dish is rice and beans, we eat it everyday, literally. Now we have electric rice and bean can, and in both cans we can cook vegetables as well. We also have airfries, that we can cook meat without any oil. Bout we are just losting the interest of cooking, more and more. We also used to prepapre all food on weekends and freeze them all among the week, so during the week we cook them. It's not that hard.
The lefties aren't been on the side of the people against big cop, because many of the food industry finaces social movment. Here in Brazil Kelloggs put bunch of money on black movements, child care, even in agriculture. Its the same with Ford Foundation, or Google. Here in Brazil Google finances lots of private schools. There're lots of conflict of interests.

I have had a similar experience with changing my diet to whole foods. I no longer wake up tired with a dry mouth. I was taking omeprazole, but that is no longer necessary. Changing my diet has completely transformed my life; I haven't been sick for four years. Get into it!

As usual, a very interesting interview. Dr. Peterson, your questioning around when families become responsible ( vs. The food companies) is thought provoking and important . I thought it was archaic of you to assume that it’s mothers who are always responsible for food preparation.

I had a similar experience with a doctor in 2002 & I’ve wondered why the doctor would rather throw an SNRI (Effexor) at me, at 19, than telling me my emotions were totally normal for dealing with what I was dealing with. I was naive & thought surely doctors were looking out for the patient’s best interest. I have never fully recovered from the aftermath of taking that drug.

I would love a deep dive interview going into why micro plastics and GMOs are bad. I get the carcinogenic effects of the food dyes and harm of pesticides but there’s a lot of rhetoric that’s pushed but not explained. You touched on it a bit in this interview and she touched on a couple studies and the overall explanation was “it’s not natural and other countries don’t have these chemicals and are healthier”. Can you continue to flush that out for us @JordanBPeterson? I would love that, but this was a great start!

As an American, living in ‘healthier’ Europe, I see convenience taking over traditional lifestyle (ie Cooking at home requires purchasing traditional ingredients). Look to the methods of cultures where food is central to lifestyle, such as Asia, and more so in Europe than the US. Traditional demands disincentivize companies to push toxic ingredients and products that replace tradition with convenience.

27:34 The overregulation in Europe is 100 times better than the anarchy in USA. I’m always humble when I listen to Jordan Peterson, but I have no idea why he is so critical about the situation in Europe,

A punnet of strawberries are exciting, because theres a novelty and the 'maybe' of getting a real good one. As she pointed out, variety. Doesn't have to mean disappointment, it can mean adventure.

About 15 years ago all of the main stream news companies were bought by the major corporations at well above their market value. At the time, I didn't understand why that was the case. Now I understand.

Hello, here in NZ we fought a big fight so that every product is labelled with its ingredients. Alas I have noticed a lot of slipping. But its mainly temu and online bought rubbish. Good interview thanks
