    Thank you! Perfect video! Don't forget to change the OUTLET o-ring (black in color at 3:14)), where the top part that is held by the TWO 10mm nuts. This is even if you replace with a new pump. Search online places for the OEM o-rings. There is also in INLET o-ring (red in color), but that should already be included in the new pump. Cover your belts and alternator and put a big rag under the power steering pump to prevent any power steering oil getting into the belt and the alternator.

    Good detail. Thanks for specifying the millimeter sizes on the bolts.

      I agree! Everybody doesn’t have a whole tool set available to them, and while it is cheaper in the long run to buy a whole set, sometimes you just have to buy just what you need to get that specific task done. Knowing exactly which tools to get is very helpful

    Do you have to bleed the power steering fluid?

    • @BennyFatFingerz
      @BennyFatFingerz  Рік тому +3

      If you're able to get the car on an incline... add the fluid and turn steering wheel from right to left until there's no more squealing from power steering. Both front wheels off the ground would be best

    99-04? Accord model is 2003-2007. A 99 and an 04 are two different generations... Can you do that? I have access to an older Accord and I have an 03 so I'm genuinely curious

    I’ve noticed people constantly saying to time all the pullies so the engine doesn’t blow. Does the power steering pump pully need to be timed/adjusted to be lined up with anything or no?

    • @BennyFatFingerz
      @BennyFatFingerz  4 роки тому +1

      In this instance no timing has to be done. But if u listen to the video, the"tension bolt" had to be fiddled with a bit. Nothing too complicated if I understand your question correctly.

    • @stayhumble2613
      @stayhumble2613 4 роки тому

      Stephen Irving yes I understood the tension part. I was referring more to like when you do a timing belt/water pump job how they explain the pullies have to be aligned a certain way for timing so the engine doesn’t damage or blow. I was just wondering if the power steering pully was one of them...but from your answer I assume it’s not and I should be completely fine to just replace the pump and tension the belt. I appreciate your reply.

    I went to a mechanic and he told me it'll cost $320.00 to get my steering pump replaced. I understand it cost for labor and parts but do you think that's too high of a cost for an east repair?

    • @BennyFatFingerz
      @BennyFatFingerz  5 років тому +6

      Absolutely overpriced. I gotta be honest with u... The reason these shops charge so much is due to their overhead and people's naivety. Please don't take offense to that as I truly mean no harm. All I'm saying is that in my humble opinion, UA-cam and a $50 tool set would save people thousands over the lifetime of a vehicle. I'll continue adding more videos of mechanic work and please don't hesitate to leave a comment or question about your vehicle. I'll be more than happy to help in any way I can

      @@BennyFatFingerz no offense taken. I know how shops try to especially get over on women and people with money. Thats the reason i looked the video up on youtube to see how much work is put in for replacing the pump. I called by brother in law and he said he'll replace it for me for free. All i gotta do is buy the part(s). Thank you for your response.
