Love the videos. Maybe at some point you find the time for analyzing an entire game of yours and explain your thought processes behind you tactical decisions etc. It's a lot of work but would probably be greatly appreciated by the community. It would also give the channel a unique touch and you could include a bunch of cool pics of your minis and a nice strategy map like the History nerds make of WW2 battles.
Another solid video. It's always nice to see a Phoenix Lord be playable. I really appreciate these unit focus videos, because there's always a trick I hadn't thought of(guide) and a trick I did that is validated (blade storm)😊
Ah yes, the scourge of 9th Edition.. Man his rules were awesome then. Hopefully he'll get a new model soon for the more fluffy lists out there... Cheers Brent!
Thanks - great video. How would you approach battling an enemy force than is equally mobile (or possibly even more mobile) thanks to raw speed or redeployment/teleporting/move-shoot-move shenanigans?
Hey! I know that you do craftworld, but I just finished a ynnari list and I want to know what you think! Is there anything that I should change or get rid of? I know it isn’t craftworld, but it’s still Eldar The yncarne Yvraine Drazhar Death jester Farseer Spiritseer 1 unit dark reapers 1 unit incubi 1 unit mandrakes 1 unit swooping hawks 1 unit rangers 2 units scourges 2 units shadow specters 2 units wraithguard 1 venom I plan to have the incubi and drazhar in the venom, where they can assasinate anybody, or act as a cross between a solitare and a falcon with fire dragons. I will have a block of wraithguard with the Spiritseer as a bully unit and heavy anti armor. The rangers are for screening, and the mandrakes and swooping hawks are for secondary objective scoring and screening if nessesary. The shadow specters, scourges, and death jester will deliver a ton of firepower without getting hit. Dark reapers for indirect, and swarm. Yncarne to kill stuff :). What do you think? Any errors in my thinking?
I think you want one big unit of Wraithguard lead by a Spiritseer instead of two small bricks, and if it were me I would find some more points by giving Yvraine a big herlquin unit to lead and sticking her in a serpent or falcon in place of Drazhar and the incubi, which would also provide more long range heavy fire support which is the only thing notably lacking. Nevertheless, I think your list is good
While it is true that you can dish out around 6 damage against a heavy target by fishing for sixes but I wouldn't recommend it. Firstly you can only guide a unit that is on the field. So no guiding deepstriking units. Its more of a turn 1 strategy or if you plan to have your hawks on the ground. Secondly you are investing a lot of points and guide for... 6 points of damage. Hawks remain best against normal infantry. It's mathematically better to not fish for sixes against those targets anyway.
It's not the first choice for a turn 1 Guide- but it is an option that lets Hawks multi class. Also, with detachment rerolls, most hard target elim units don't really need GUIDE because they are already low rate of fire. But yeah, there can be more efficient targets for GUIDE, like ma max bike squad with Shiriken Cannons. Also, the move and shoot power sometimes makes Hawks a more efficient choice because you don't have to trade them- if you don't have 2CP to Fire and Fade something else
I am a simple man, I see a UNIT FOCUS.. I must click and grab popcorn.
Exceptional

Cracking video, I'm yet to try baharoth out but I'm very excited to now! Thanks Brent
Another great video! What you said about longevity though mobility is very true, it's great to be able to use a unit effectively every turn
Great video as always, Brent!!

Hurrah for the return of Hawkchise
Was just talking about this with a buddy of mine!! Awesome!

Humm, can you destroy the Guard artillery with this?
Woah
He pronounced fuegan correctly.
