Great unit guide! My War Walker tied up a Transcendent Ctan for 2 turns in close combat thanks to a bit of luck and some farseer fate dice. It was glorious.
I really wish you could still run them in squadrons. Thanks for the video, as an old school player I wasn't sure about War Walkers in 10th (they were STELLAR in Rogue Trader/2nd edition)).
No. D-Cannons were super powerful in 2nd and only came on support weapon platforms. You could have Missile Launchers, Plasma Cannons, Las-Cannons, Scatter Lasers
I don't think they are optimal for competitive play- for example, there has never been a GT podium list with a single AML. It's not a terrible weapon, but for any job you might want it to do, there is a much better weapon, so a well balanced list shouldn't need the AML. Versatility is a great virtue in weapons that are ALSO optimal into a single kind of target.
@@WBConcilio Played a game against Imperial Guard last night, took bright lances on everything (before i was taking AML), rolled 3 sixes on my 6 fate dice, got first turn, my opponent conceded after 2 turns, it was my most convincing victory ever (and generally i don't win at all). MVP was a Wraithlord, killed a light tank on my first turn, overwatched with a fate dice and took out a scout sentinel on my opponents turn. Second turn took out another light tank with her bright lances and finished off another scout sentinel with her ghostglave. My war walker also had a great game, it had less useful targets for its bright lances, but did sit unchallenged on the centre objective absorbing a lot of small arms fire, making it crucial for the victory. I am so glad i took your advice, thanks again, signed up for Farseer level patron :)
Missile launchers are a take all comers master of none choice. I could see taking them if you feel you lack anti'infantry. We have tons of units great at threatening light infantry though. There's also been 1 game in 17 I've played where the extra 12" range would have mattered. I usually run 2 with double lances.
I hope the warwalker models get a slight rework some day cuz they look just a tad goofy. I own a couple wasps which I’ll likely use as counts-as war walkers cuz they’re just slightly cooler imo. I also absolutely love how the hornet looks, it’s probably my favorite eldar model. I just wish I had some 😢
I converted 3d printed wraithlord pieces for warwalkers as they fitted better in the theme of my army. I dont like the walker model at all. The model is waaaaay too expensive too.
Craftworlds unit focus videos are my favorite 🍻
So glad the walkers are a thing now. I have the old-skool walkers and just love the way they look. Nice they can see the tabletop and be effective.
Just found the channel, love the content both craftworld and general! A great listen, you have a great radio voice!
Woot! Thank you 😊

Shout today from WesHammer. You’ve made it!
What great timing! I was just getting a
ready to paint of pair of these for my 1,000 point army.
Can't wait to watch this!
Good motivation for me to repair the broken legs of my poor sad war walker!
Keep up the good work Brent! Always happy to hear your thoughts on Eldar.
Thank you!
They seem to be extremely versatile
they really are
Excellent guide. Thanks very much. 👍🤘
I’ve run 3 the last 2 games I’ve played and they have been a nightmare for my opponent to deal with 😊

@@Nevets1073 they still rock, but I too miss squads.
Could they have DCannons in second?

Great video!. Why do you never consider the missile launchers, the versatility and range surely must be a positive?

@@WBConcilio Thanks for the very in-depth answer, nicely explained

For the algorithm! Pretty good content.

I have seen a battle report on UA-cam where an Eldar player used three War Walkers with twin missle launchers as an artillery unit successfully.
Any unit can be used successfully in some game somewhere. It doesn't follow from that that the unit is an optimal pick for competitive play

I love my war walkers, surprisingly tanky for the points. My local meta runs a lot of armour so I run 3 and 2 fire prisms
Woah! That is a serious volume of fire
@@WBConcilio it's safe to say the Yme-Loc Craftworld have been on the shelf until the January dataslate

WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT WITH SOAP! I love the classic War Walkers.
Just get full canopies!
Agreed. I love them statwise but they look out of place.
My go to overwatch is the avatar . I run 1 war walker and 1-2 d cannons to control the middle
The Avatar is a better candidate, but rarely has a turn 1 target with the limited range I find
Likes for the likes God. Comments for the comments throne.
Did they get rid of the wasp assault walkers in 10th? I diddnt find any new data sheet for them on the WH app.
I own one but i think i need to but it on my PAINTING table actually haha
I run two,l in every game and they’re almost always the first thing to be killed!
Do you place them in your backfield?
Huh. Mine usually last quite a while if not the whole game. I've even charged them into melee as cleanup on objectives before.
If I could subscribe 10x’s I would
Hahaha- thanks :)
Question: think I could get away with using wraith lords instead of war walkers? I haaaate the aesthetic of the war walker.
When I say instead I mean as a proxy.
Oh, if your opponent doesn't mind, totally
Kitbashing a pilot and cockpit into the wraithlord model would be a fun project
